The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Tasean stood outside of the club swaying to the beats he could hear coming from the inside. He looked over the shoulder of the girl in front of him to see that there were still a good fifteen people between him and the door, but the line was moving rather quickly. This wasn't one of the local gay clubs that Tasean usually went too, but tonight he needed to release. He didn't want to be bothered by a bunch of guys wanting to hook up, or having to dodge guys he had hooked up with and never called back. Tonight he just needed some good music, a lot of drinks and plenty of dance floor. The past few days at the Mutant Social Services Agency had been rather trying, and Tasean could feel himself reaching his boiling point. So today he had shut down shop early, and went to get a pedicure, and then did a little shopping. The Ed Hardy shirt and jean ensemble he had on had been a result of today's excursion. Now he was at this club, now with only six people between him and a night he needed for his mental and emotional health. He began to sway even harder, his head bobbing to the beat of P!nk's F*ing Perfect as he lip synced the words.
As the song faded out into another song Tasean found himself at the door, starring at a bouncer he had seen plenty of times at another club. A bouncer he had seen plenty of times in his bedroom as well.
"Well at least I know the night will end great if this club is a let down" Tasean thought to himself as the bouncer gave him a knowing grin, holding the door open for him not even patting Tasean down.
Tasean smiled back as he walked pass the man, paid his money and got his stamp, this one was a picture of a tipping martini glass. He walked through another set of double doors, and the music of the place hit him like an ocean wave. Nicki Minaj's Super Bass vibrated in his chest as he walked further into the spacious place. Everyone he looked people were either dancing or drinking or both. There were no catty looks, no fights, no men trying to be runway diva's or vogue champions. Just people enjoying the music and doing exactly what Tasean wanted to do, dance the days junk and cares away. Tasean smiled brightly, his eyes shinning as he made his way to the bar to get something very strong before he hit the dance floor.
"What is with this music, Matt?" Lee asked, leaning across the bar to speak with the former bartender, now owner of the bar.
"It's popular, haven't you noticed?" Matt replied, and Lee simply shook her head. Though, Lee had to admit, the bar was rather full. But the crowd in the bar didn't stop Lee from pulling out her phone for the 10th time in half an hour to see if she had any messages.
"Just relax, Lee," Matt said as a man came up to the bar beside her. "Have a drink. You're allowed to have a night out."
"Yeah, yeah, Matt," Lee said, checking her phone one last time before tucking it away again. "Get back to work."

Tasean leaned across the bar and smiled at the man and woman conversing. He didn't know either of them, but he was feeling rather friendly.
"Yes please have a drink, actually have a couple of them. I know I am" he said flashing his 'I'm gonna get in trouble and like it' smile at the woman before motioning for a bartender. "Give me two shots of something strong enough to guarantee that I won't remember this night tomorrow. I want to get chocolate wasted" he ordered, very seriously before placing a Visa card on the bar with a picture of a Patti Labelle on it "and do keep them coming kind sir"
Tasean's head began bobbing to the beat of Carrie Underwood's Last Name, but this time he didn't lip synced, he was singing the words, not quite note perfect, his hips swaying as he leaned over the bar waiting for his drinks.
As Matt walked away to go make sure that her investment in the bar paid off, the man who had come up beside her at the bar leaned over and spoke to her. In a way, it was tempting. Lee couldn't even remember the last time that she had had a drink, and she was at the bar.
Before she had even made a decision about whether she would be having a drink or not, the man beside her got the attention of a bartender and ordered two very strong shots. "I really don't think I'll be having anything like that," Lee said. Any time she and Tarin drank like that, well, public places were not good for them.
Glancing at the man briefly before looking back at the bartender, Lee shrugged slightly. "Can you grab me a beer?" Lee asked, before she turned to look at the man beside her again. "And while you might enjoy tonight, drinking like that probably won't make a very good tomorrow." As she finished speaking, Lee pulled her phone out again, almost unconsciously, to see if she had any messages.

Tasean smiled and turned around, leaning back on the bar, his elbows resting on it as he looked up into the dancing strobe lights on the ceiling. "Tomorrow? What tomorrow? No such thing in my mind" he said, eyes closed as he let the music of Lady Gaga's Judas wash over him. "There is only tonight, and tonight I am going to dance and drink the filth of the work week away. And maybe even upset one of these girls and go home with her boyfriend" he informed the woman, grinning maliciously. "I have not a care in the world right now, and I like it. So a curse on your tomorrow! Bring on the night"
Tasean turned around and downed the two shots, grimacing at the heat that hit his throat and was slowly making it's way to his stomach. He turned towards the woman, shaking his head at her cellphone. "Tsk tsk. Those things shouldn't even be allowed in the club. Nothing but electronic chain of the man!" Tasean said, beginning to fill his drinks already. Drinking on an empty stomach would do that. "Come on girl, put that phone down, grab your beer and let's leave or names on the dance floor!" he exclaimed, his whole body moving with the beat, and quite good at that. "By the way, the name is Tasean. And no I'm not crazy, I just really need to relieve some stress."
The man beside her at the bar was certainly getting comfortable as he stood there, leaning back against the bar, and Lee couldn’t help but think about how similar it was to how Tarin had leaned against the bar like that when they had come here that first time. The night taht they had had their first kiss. Even more so when the man said that he planned to get roaring drunk, not caring about the next day. Other than the possibility that one of the women here would be upset at him for taking their boyfriend home.
Well, so much for Lee being able to pick up on men flirting with her. Though the posture was quite similar to Tarin’s that night so long ago, apparently there was nothing even close to the same intent. Good to know.
Then, after he downed his shots, the man tsked her for having her phone out at the club. Lee simply shrugged, grabbing the bottle of beer that was now in front of her and taking a small sip. “Normally, you’d be right,” Lee replied as she set the bottle back down on the bar. “But the ‘man’ chaining me to the phone is my son, and I’m expecting my husband to message, panicked, because tonight will be the first time he’s putting the little guy to bed on his own.” First time she’d really been out on her own for any length of time without Kevin, actually.
But then, after introducing himself, Tasean invited her to join him on the dance floor. Lee couldn’t help herself, her eyes darted to that crowded, open area of the place that was the dance floor. And it certainly was crowded tonight. Maybe Matt did have a point with this music, apparently it was popular.
“I’m not sure I can dance to this,” Lee said, turning back to Tasean. “I can stumble my way through a two-step, or possibly with some rock, but I don’t know about this.”

Tasean smiled with fond memories as the lady talked about her son. He remember the first time his own mother had left out of town, and how many times the phone had rung that night, once every fifteen minutes for the entire night almost. Tasean was not about to press the issue further, you did not get between a mother and her child, until he saw her eyes look to the floor.
He grinned, and extended his hands toward her. "Come on now. We'll stay on the outskirts of the dance floor, just in case you need to dart off. And I won't hear anything about you not being able to. You got legs, knees, and hips, you can dance. Who cares what it looks like" Tasean said, demonstrating his point by spinning around and just letting his arms move anyway they liked. "In music, only the gods are served" he told her before he began laughing. "I read that in the Mists of Avalon, but it still holds true. So lets serve 'em till the sun comes up huh?"
Tasean once again extended his hand, and inviting and genuine smile on his lips, joy and mirth dancing in his eyes.
Tasean didn’t seem to take ‘she couldn’t dance’ as a valid answer. He pressed, claiming that it didn’t matter how she looked while dancing, alluding to the fact that all that mattered was having fun while doing it. And he did conceed that they could stay on the edge of the dance floor, just in case there was an emergency at home so she could escape the bar that much easier.
Plus, the fact of the matter was that Lee hadn’t exactly been in a place this crowded, for nearly this long, since before she had been kidnapped. Yes, she had been very close to Tarin for prolonged periods of time on many occasions since then, but that was very different from this. The energy was coursing through her, too much longer and she was going to be feeling like she’d bounce off the walls. She was already going to have to get rid of the energy before having any chance of falling asleep that night.
Plus, she told herself after a half second of thought, she was still feeling her energy, so she still had full access to her powers in case anything did go wrong.
“Well, at least you got the quote from a decent book,” Lee said. Glancing around the bar area she was standing in, Lee didn’t see Matt there anywhere to save her. One more glance at the dance floor, and then back to Tasean.
“I really don’t know about till the sun comes up, but I guess we could try…” Lee said. “And I’m really going to have to talk to Matt about this music tomorrow.”

Tasean's eyes gleamed even brighter when she accepted the invitation. He took her by the hand and escorted her like some chivalrous knight to the edge of the dance floor. "We are gonna have some fun tonight, trust me" Tasean told her as he turned to face her and grab her other hand, dancing in a parody of a mambo. As he did, Kissed It by Velvet Revolver featuring Macy Gray began to play. "That is my song!" Tasean exclaimed as he began to dance with enthusiasm, his eyes closed as he lost himself in the music; though he never let go of his new dancing partner's hands.
((OOC: Sorry! I swore I had already posted this for you!))
Lee was a little taken aback when Tasean grabbed her hand to pull her toward the dance floor. He seemed truly happy and excited about the idea of dancing, though. Plus, Lee could feel the energy from him slipping into her through his hand touching hers. Not much, she was already getting more than enough energy simply by being in the bar, but it was more than enough to tell her that this man was not an adapted, that there wasn’t one close to her, and that her powers most definitely were still working. Thus, she had nothing to worry about. Safety-wise, at least.
Safe in terms of being embarrassed, now that was a different matter all together, and as they reached what must have been a good spot on the dance floor, Tasean turned around to face her, now grabbing her other hand as well, and started dancing. She just didn’t dance. Her wedding didn’t even have dancing. Mind you, her wedding only had two days of planning because it took two days to drive up to Las Vegas from Tarin’s mother’s place in Texas.
And then as the songs changed, Tasean got even more happy, claiming that this was his song. Lee couldn’t say that she knew it, but then again she didn’t know half of the music she had heard that night.
But she was out here now, on the dance floor, and it was really too loud to even attempt to talk to Matt about business. She might as well dance. She didn’t exactly have a reason not to dance unless she went home. And, while Lee had been checking her phone every couple minutes since stepping out of the apartment, she didn’t exactly want to head home yet.
So, Lee started to dance, her hands being held by Tasean as he danced. She didn’t feel very comfortable dancing, definitely didn’t feel very good at it, but Lee was at least able to pick out the beat in the music easily enough.
“This isn’t too bad,” Lee said, trying to be heard over the music. Though, she probably would never listen to it on her own iPod.

((OOC: 'Tis Ok))
Finally Tasean's released his new dance partner's hands, as the song selection changed. It was something much more rock-ish, and he wasn't too familiar with those type of songs.
Still her swayed and stepped to the beat, smiling the entire time, as the stress and tension of the work week was lost in the music. He wasn't thinking about the agency, or what he would be facing in the morning, he was simply enjoying himself without a care in the world.
"So what brings you to this club, other than to be on that phone all night?" Tasean asked, practically yelling to be heard over the music.
