The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Fade smiled, *This chic definately likes to speed things up.* she thought to herself. "Well, my name's Jenny, but you can call me Fade because of my power." She turned herself invisible as she rumaged through the fridge. After pulling the milk out, she turned that invisible too, she turned back to Teddie and turned her eyes visible. She then blinked once, changing her eye color from brown to teal. "Invisibility and with my claws," She turned her raptor like claws visible "I can climb walls without damaging them!"

Teddie grinned. "Wow that is so cool. I wish I could do something as awesome as that. I'm always TRYING to be invisible anyway because I never fit in at my old school. I uh..have the gift of animal speech. I can hear their thoughts and call them if and when I need them. But they don't have to listen, if they don't want to." she explained, flipping a lock of her reddish hair out of her face before ripping off a piece of pancake for Mags.
"Well, now that's pretty cool, at least you can use your's for good things. My power is primarily good for stealing, eavesdropping, and sneaking around. I can't do very many good things with them unless I needed to hear or steal something for a just cause. It's a good thing that I came to this place before I went searching for my purpose somewhere else, otherwise there wouldn't be too many things that are valuable left." She chuckled. Yes, it was a good thing that she came to the mansion before the brotherhood or whatever they were called.

Teddie chewed thoughtfully for a moment, then swallowed. "Maybe we could work together sometime, ya know? I can't make myself invisible like you, but they don't call me Mouse for nothing." Teddie opened the fridge and took out a soda, popping the tab. She took a swig of it and smiled. "Ya know..I don't feel so alone here,Fade. I..it's good to know I'm not the only freak around."
"Mutants aren't freaks." Fade said as she too pulled out a soda. "Just because we're different, it doesn't make us freaks, weirdos, or anything people usually call us. They're just afraid because they don't have the power we have and they don't see us as real people. Maybe we're not anymore, yea, sure, we've evolved, but not only in DNA, mentally, we are higher than them, too, because we have learned to accept, we're more mature and we see the world in a different light than most of those that hate us. I for one and very happy I'm a mutant, even if I went through all I did, because in a way, I am more knowledgable then most of those that live outside of this mansion." She sighed and took a gigantic sip of her soda.

"I guess it'll take some getting used to, not calling myself a freak. People called me a wierdo and a freak even before my talent manifested itself. I didn't mean to offend you. "Teddie said softly.
"Oh, none taken. Believe me, it takes alot to offend me." She chuckled before chugging the rest of her soda. Because she was chugging it much faster than she should have, the liquid spilled out of the corners of her mouth and on her clothes. "Oh, great. That's real smooth, Jenny." She said, rolling her eyes as she grabbed some paper towels and began to wipe herself off. It wasn't working, so she attempted to pull her shirt up to the faucet without taking it off, it was hard, yes, but she managed to do it.

"Oops.." Teddie said, blinking. "Well at least you're not offended. "I have the feeling that now that I actually have a shred of self confidence, I'll have to watch what I say to avoid offending people. My parents were never good at that..building up my self confidence I mean. It was always "Why aren't you as good as so-n-so at *whatever*. They were always cutting me down and I really don' t think they even loved me all that much. I bet they're really glad I'm gone." she said sadly, staring into the mouth of her soda can.
"Least you remember your parents. Your real parents, but I can see where you're coming from with the whole cutting down thing. I understand completely, it's not very fun." She sighed before she jumped up onto the counter and sat down, her feet dangling down from the top. Her eyes suddenly became wide and she felt a sensation running from her tummy to her throat. She smiled and opened her mouth before a large belch rang from her lips. Quickly, she turned her head so she wouldn't hit her new friend with this gross scent of the soda. "Whoops, excuse me." She said after her belch had subsided.

Teddie laughed. "I can beat that..."and with that, she burped out her first and last name in one long, disgusting belch. *Wow..I'm actually making a friend. This is so WIERD!* she thought to herself. "So..tell me, what are the classes like and where do I go to sign up?"
"Uh...yea, about that, I'm not sure, I'm not exactly the right person to ask." She shrugged, laughing at her belch. She quickly pulled out another soda and began chugging that too. "Oh man, how much you wanna bet that in about 10 mins, tops, I'll have to go to the bathroom?" She chuckled before she took another gulp.

Teddie smiled. "I just don't want to screw up my chance at higher education. Mom always says that if you don't pick the right track to follow from the time you're in junior high, you might as well be screwed. She's got a whole list of stuff she says she wants me to study while I'm here." Teddie rolled her eyes and reached into her bag. "Let's see...French, Spanish, Geometry, Physics, World History, World Government and Economics, Advanced Artistic Expression, French Ballet technique...ugh." she said as she read off the list her mother had sent with her.
Fade displayed a confused expression on her face as Teddie continued to read off from the list. "You sure that's English?" She chuckled. Of course, Fade hasn't been to school since 2nd grade so she's forgotten how to read! All this stuff that Teddie was reading out to her was confusing and not all that fun, least, didn't sound like it. Ballet? Isn't that where they dance around in tootoos and wear those funky shoes? And French, "voulez vous couche avec moi?" that's all Fade knew, something from a song.

Teddie stuffed the list back in her bag. "Mom's been putting me in ballet classes since I was old enough to walk. I can dance, but barely. I'm very uncoordinated and not the least bit graceful. What Mom doesn't know is that I purposely left my stupid toeshoes at home. Those things have wooden blocks in the toe, so you can go en pointe, but they hurt my feet." Teddie explained.
"Owie, sounds painful." Fade said as she took another sip. "A wooden block in your shoe? Sounds ridiculous." Then again, Fade never really understood why a mother would do that to her child, if it was so the child could be successful or whatever.
