Isabel was getting irritated. All that trouble of breaking into the prison, helping to release some inmates, and leveling the place and she'd hardly seen or heard anything from Bane since. How ungrateful could a person be? As far as she had been able to tell he'd been attempting to give the the cold shoulder ever since they'd gotten back to the Sanctuary and it was severely beginning to irk her. She hated being ignored.

For a short while she'd attempted to ignore it. He'd been rude to her throughout the entire ordeal anyhow, so why should she be the one to approach him first? She'd gone to help him and he couldn't bother to be the littlest bit grateful for it. Had he expected her to knock down the whole damn building by herself?

Planning takes time, and getting his sorry backside caught hadn't exactly occurred at the opportune moment. There were damaged at what was then called KP, now Phaust Pharmaceuticals, to be taken care of, injured mutants to mend, loss of Haywire to contend with, and the loss of Syn. He wasn't the only one she had to think about, after all.

But of course, he had to be about at stubborn as she was and as such just sitting around and seething hadn't done her a single bit of good. The pigheaded jerk hadn't made a single attempt to speak with her, be it to thank, or the more likely option, to scold her. She was getting tired of this little game.

And so she stopped sulking and set off to find the big oaf. And, luckily for her, he wasn't all that hard to find. Usually all one had to do with locate the Giant was to follow whatever unnecessary amounts of noise he was making. This time was no exception.

The idiot was doing something in his room, presumably attempting to clean it, though it looked like he was only making things worse. The most notable thing was the growing pile of alcohol containers that were being pulled out of just about ever nook and cranny in the room. She'd never known another person to own so many flasks, never mind to keep them all full and to successfully empty them all again and again.

Planting a shoulder against his door frame and crossing her arms she simply watching him for a moment, mentally counting the number of booze bottles that were retrieved from here or there before getting tired of doing so. Crossing one ankle over the other, she tapped the tip of her new boot against the floor irritably. "How long are you planning on playing this stupid game, Bane? We live in the same damn building, you know. You can't keep ignoring me."

Clank

The sound of rattling glass bottles echoed through out his room as he tossed another garbage bag full dead center of his room. The quite sound of his simian friend watching and breathing over the brooding giant shoulder shaking his head slightly to the commotions that Bacchus was creating. Every time a bottle clanked into a bag the sound of Ulysses breathing was drowned out. Even though he was sober the sounds that used to drive him insane (breathing of another human being for example) didn’t get to him. It wasn’t he was building up a tolerance or immune to the sounds, no it was just less irritating than it used to be.

Clank

A sigh sounded from the giant as he tossed another bottle into the bag. His action showed his emotions irritated and annoyed. He wasn’t annoyed with tossing out neither the alcohol bottles nor the chimp sitting on his bed watching him like a hawk. No what he was annoyed with was everyone else in the Sanctuary and the Kabal. Not that he was ever happy with any members from the Kabal to begin with but the fact that they left him out to dry was most likely there was of saying his contract had been terminated. What’s more he had the loan sharks from back home calling him around the clock since he had been ‘Released’ Ulysses did the best he could to say Bacchus was out but when they threatened to prove how serious they were Bacchus picked up the phone and spoke.

Turned out the checks stopped coming in from Slate and his little organization that was then and there Bacchus washed his hands of Slate. Another sigh and a clank and Bacchus thought about how he was going to handle the sharks now that he was out of a job. He could go back to robbing banks but with him just being released from prison he had a feeling that was his one ‘Get out of jail free’ card.

“You know you’ll have to talk to someone other than me sometime…” came the serious and low tone from his companion as he leaned up and looked over the bed at all the mess that was on the floor. ”….yeah…. still don’t know how to react with everything, I know it took a while to get everything set up but not even so much as a word from anyone?” he looked at the floor and picked up another bottle and slammed it in the bag causing everything to shatter.

“Easy big guy, no need to make a bigger mess than you already have…” he paused then smiled showing his abnormally long chimpanzee canines “I am glad to see your done drinking though, it’ll be a good change…” Bacchus looked up to Ulysses with a straight face and spoke, ”I don’t even know what I’m doing right now… you lose the thirst when the only way you can drink is if you make it in a toilet…”

Another clank and then he turned his attention to the doorway; footsteps could be heard as the scent of apple blossoms tingled his nostrils. Looking back to Ulysses he shook his head, ”Something else I don’t know how to deal with…” looking back to the bottles he was cleaning out of his sock drawer which should have been relabeled the vodka drawer back when he was drinking.

Knowing exactly what Bacchus was talking about Ulysses gave the giant a sympathetic look before looking to the door where Isabel appeared. When she tapped her foot on the floor the simian hopped off the bed and walked passed Bacchus and headed for the door, “Hello Isabel, I’ll just leave you two alone…”

Soon as Ulysses left Bacchus slammed another bottle into the bag and then looked over to his girlfriend? He wasn’t exactly what they were at this point, he had been doing his best to avoid her and everyone else associated with her. ”I know I can’t but… I can try right?” Bacchus asked as he picked up another bottle then tossed it into the bottle giving another big clank.

”Whose door frame you lean against when I was locked up?” Bacchus asked as he shifted his eyes towards Izzy but still left his face focused on the bag in his hand. He was hurt, and as usual he had the stubbornness of Isabel and to top it off he was about as comfortable with his emotions as a teakettle would be. ”You need something?” he asked slightly coldly tying another garbage bag full of bottles and dropped it in the center of his room next to all the flasks and bottles. Clapping his hands together he looked over to Isabel and placed his hands on his waist his head lowered slightly as he had to look down to her.

Isabel attempted to give at least a halfway genuine smile to Ulysses as he passed her in the doorway to allow for a little more privacy, though it was likely her irritation outweighed her attempts. Not that his leaving would have made much of a difference anyhow. It was likely that the discussion could get rather heated and voices would be raised as a result. Or worse. Her and Bane weren't the quietest of mutants, nor the most concerned over destruction of property.

"Hmph." She hated being ignored. Really hated it. And from where she was standing, the Giant didn't really have any reason to do it. She'd helped to get him out, hadn't she? It's not like she could have done it overnight. At least the idiot was out now. Ungrateful jerk.

And then he had to go and accuse her of visiting other people's rooms. Irritation went straight to anger as her posture straightened and her arms dropped to her sides, her hands curling into fists. "Don't you dare make accusations about me," she warned, glaring down at him until the jerk stood up, forcing her to look up at him instead. She hated being shorter than someone she was trying to yell at. It was so much easier when she was the taller one.

"You're damn right I needed something," she continued, stepping away from the door frame and into his room, closing the door as she did so in a poor attempt to muffle the sound of the impending argument. People would probably still be able to hear them, should they pass by, but at least no one could poke their heads in and make a nuisance of themselves.

"You have no reason to be treating me like this. I got your sorry ass out of prison, didn't I? It's not my fault you got caught in the first place. It's not like we were here having a great time, either," she argued, pointing a finger at him and waving it for emphasis now and again.

"We had things to deal with here, too. This is my home, and I care very deeply for the people I live with. They needed help, too, not just you. We had our own issues to deal with before we could get anything organized to break you out of jail. And we did break you out. So stop sulking and feeling sorry for yourself!"

Fingers on his right hand twitched slightly when she started yelling at him about accusing her of something he just smirked, really he wasn’t intending to accuse her of anything he was just trying to figure out what exactly she did with her time when he wasn’t around. Then again she did know a few blokes around the building that wouldn’t have minded making a pass at her when the time was right, and him being in jail was probably the best timing they had unless things were only going to go further south from her.

When he stood upright she had to look up, ah yes, during the breakout he had been far to busy to fully appreciate his height and since he was back at the Sanctuary he had for the most part kept to himself. Now however she was looking up at him giving him he full attention he deserved.

She yelled again and then slammed the door behind her as she entered his room uninvited he felt like pointing out but held his tongue, odd months ago he would have been over egger for her to enter his room uninvited, but back then she had always been ‘invited’. His eyes locked on Isabel as she continued to yell at him. All the while Bacchus had a feeling that their voices would travel out into the hallway when they ‘really’ started to yell.

She continued to yell and explain what took her so long but most of it was the same story he had heard before, and while it explained everything perfectly he was for the most part upset. When she told him he was sulking that was when he narrowed his eyes slightly, ”FIVE MONTHS!” Bacchus’s voice boomed as it was increased in volume by his mutation. When he realized it was so loud he deactivated now sure he had her attention fully, ”Yeah, alright you got me out but after five months…” he paused then paced over to the nearest wall where there was already a large indent due to one of his old drunken rants.

Slamming his fist against the wall barley activating his mutation feeling the pain shoot throughout his fist. ”Five months” he punched the wall again, ”Twenty weeks” punch ”One hundred and fifty two days” punch ”So many hours” punch ”So many minutes!” punch followed by another punch.

Pulling his hand from the large giant fisted indent in the wall Bacchus reveled his skin above his top two knuckles to be bleeding slightly. He was angry and still chalk full of testosterone something he had trouble dealing with since he left. ”I counted down to the bloody seconds, waiting and hoping that I’d hear for someone other than Ulysses who would have been picked up and shipped somewhere if he stopped in to see me again!” he took a step away from the wall and shook his hand slightly, it stung like hell but it still felt good.

”I counted down thinking, “hey any day now she’ll come” but nothing, not so much as a letter!” he paused and looked down at Isabel his voice becoming quieter again, ”Guy my size with a collar, as good as saying hey, free kill no one will care about, only chance you’ll get…” he didn’t finish his statement otherwise she would have realized how weak he actually was something that he didn’t care to admit to anyone.

It was something he thought was quite funny, in prison he could count the weeks, days and hours but he could never remember how many times he got beaten down to the point of death, how many times someone attempted to shank him. If it wasn’t for the only cellmate he didn’t kill who happened to have some magical healing blood he wouldn’t have been there to argue with Isabel.

”And for the record the one of the only reasons I did get caught was because of you and your stupid fight!” the other reason was because he was getting paid but as soon as a check didn’t come in the reasoning behind it slimmed down to her. He wasn’t blaming her he was blaming her for not trying to talk to him. ”So you’ll have to forgive me if I feel a like sulking a little bit for being pushed aside for the ones you care for.” he was being childish and stubborn but he had five months and those feelings of being forgotten didn’t fade on their own in prison they only grew.

Isabel couldn't help but wince slightly at the sudden volume Bane's voice shot to as he yelled back. It had hurt her ears a little, being as close as she was and in a closed off room where the sound was trapped, though she was more concerned about the off chance that he'd seen her jump a little than with the pain in her head. With any luck he'd been too preoccupied staring at his bag of bottles to have seen it.

"At least I got you out!" she shot back, glaring daggers at him. "At least I did something about it! It took a while, but you could still be sitting in that damn cell. Try being a little grateful at least!" Childishly she stomped her foot, pleased with the sound her new boot made against the floor. Or at least she had been before the action was outdone by the Giant's equally as childish act of throwing his fist into the wall as a form of punctuation.

With a huff she crossed her arms again, the lack of several layers of fabric still feeling kind of strange to her, though the shirt she'd recently acquired did free up her movement a little more. The only issue was the number of buttons. They didn't reach quite as high as they seemed like they had when the shirt had still been on the hanger. She'd have to find and sew one or two more onto the thing. Until then it was a necessary evil. Absentmindedly she tugged at the collar in a vain attempt at gaining a little more coverage.

"You really think those people would have let a letter from me get past the employees and to you, nevermind a visit? In case you've forgotten, the police don't exactly like me. They'd kill to get their hands on me and get me off the streets and into prison, if not into the electric chair," she continued, holding her glare and tone of voice steady. "I can't knock down something like that by myself. I needed help, and that took some time to get."

"No one said you had to get involved in that fight, and you're not the only one that was in trouble there. There are mutants that got really hurt in that fight, myself included. You aren't the only one that suffered for it." She had other friends that had gotten hurt, and one that had disappeared completely and had been presumed dead by some.

"I almost got carted off to jail, too, you know. No one was there to help me but some deranged psychopath I've never seen before, and it could hardly be called helping. The jerk did more damage than good. You don't see me yelling at anyone or sulking because they didn't come after me. We're all on our own sometimes. You weren't forgotten, I just couldn't get to you right away."

Eyebrows narrowed as he looked to Isabel his voice still far more level than it was before, he noticed that he indeed managed to at least startle Isabel with the volume of his voice but he didn’t show he acknowledged what happened. Despite what he said she still stuck managed to defend her defense to the point. He nodded his head slightly agreeing with her, ”Yeah, you would have been arrested but still if you wanted to get a hold of me you would have found a way.” he said somewhat coldly his eyes turning to the indented wall where a small bit of his skin was most likely still located.

”And I am grateful make no mistake but I’m still…” his thoughts trailed off as his voice got silent for a moment when he noticed her tugging her shirt up slightly to cover up a bit more skin. Something he didn’t think was necessary… he shook his head his eyes shifting positions on her body to her face, ”You had a tank!” Bacchus said his voice rising slightly again only to add to his point.

”You could have gotten in there with just two people and a tank, it wasn’t an army base or anything…” Bacchus said as he looked at the pile next to him and then back to Isabel ready to argue with her some more.

Taking a few steps back Bacchus landed on his bed with a loud thud and looked at Isabel his hands folded in front of his face. ”Be a S*** boyfriend, if I let you go out there by yourself, they had a few dozen not to mention the police….” he frowned slightly and moved his hands to his knees his posture slouching over a bit, ”Your making it sound like I was put on a to do list… nice to know I at least made the list!” Bacchus said trying to make it clear that he would have been the one to charge the prison by him self… well maybe with the tank the tank could come in handy every giant needs a club.

His tone changed once again as his anger moved back into the picture pushing other thoughts from his mind, ”You know I would have been there the second you got placed behind bars! They would have had a hell of a fight on their hands instead you just pushed me to the back burner… what happen you guys run out of things to do and thought, ‘Nothing on the Telle might as well go break him out!’” Bacchus bit his tongue for a second and then eyed Isabel again still irritated as hell she made him wait as long as he did.

"There's not a whole lot I can do to contact a prison outside of letters, phone calls, or visitation. And with mutants in the prison, their security had to be doubled at least, especially since they grabbed you from a fight that the Order was involved in. I can't get anywhere near a damn prison by myself. People know me too well. I'd have gotten myself stuck in there with you and we'd both have been out of luck for a while if I'd tried," she attempted to explain. She didn't think a whole lot of what she said was sinking into the Giant's thick skull. He was too damn set on his little hissy fit.

"I don't know how to drive a friggin tank!" she shot back. Who knew how long the thing had been sitting in the garage? "I don't know if anyone here knows how to operate it. We had to have Abyss and his brothers toss the damn thing into the prison to get it anywhere"

Hearing him call himself her boyfriend was a little strange to her, her glare easing a little upon hearing it as he slumped onto the bed. Technically they were dating, it just felt odd to think of herself as anyone's girlfriend, particularly after her first attempt at such a position with Calley failed miserably. "I'm a big girl. I can look after myself," she protested, bringing her thoughts back to the subject at hand.

"That's not how I meant it and you know it!" she spat, offended that he'd accuse her of seeing his predicament as something like a chore to be taken care of. "You might have been there, but you can break down walls and bars all by yourself. I can't. And there's only so much I can do to get some help as fast as I can. There were other things that had to be taken care of, too. KP was destroyed, Haywire was destroyed, mutants were hurt, people disappeared. It was a lot to deal with in a short amount of time. I can only do so much."

Irritably she gave a sigh and kicked lightly at one of the bags filled with bottles. What a mess. "I'm sorry I wasn't there immediately after you got your sorry ass thrown in jail, okay? I can't do everything. I had to get myself fixed first before I could even start thinking about getting other people to give me a hand. I'm not trying to choose mthe people here over you or vice versa, that's just how it worked out. But you're out now. Problem solved. Stop being such a baby."

He didn’t buy it if she really wanted to she could have got a letter to him, of course she didn’t have to bring it in herself or sign it but he would have known, hell even Ulysses managed one or two letters letting him know what was going on outside the prison walls in a world he was removed from. Then again maybe he was giving her too much credit, sure she was familiar with police and the law but as far as contacting someone in prison she could have been ignorant on the way to do it. Even if she was it didn’t do much to calm his anger.

”Why would you even have a tank then?” Bacchus asked moving off point just to yell about something, ”It’s almost as much of a waste as those doors!” Bacchus said remembering the fight over those stupid golden doors that he should have stolen himself when he had the chance before he got too attached to anything at the Sanctuary. Luckily for him he was working for Slate at the time, other wise those doors would have been his and this conversation wouldn’t have taken place.

He shook his head slightly, that was the second time he thought about the ‘ifs’ in his life. What if he wasn’t there what if he didn’t meet Isabel? He needed to stop thinking about the ‘what ifs’ because they weren’t ‘ifs’ they happened and took place and other than going to prison he was for the most part happy with the way things had turned out even if everything right not seemed so bleak.

She was a big girl and she could take care of her self, she was good if not great at that and while he was still mad at her he didn’t want to see her to the point of tears and if he wanted to see her that upset he had a feeling if he kept pushing he would get there. ”Yeah S*** happened but, Five months!” Bacchus said not really personally attacking Isabel just everything else, ”And I’m GLAD haywire was destroyed!” Bacchus said with a bit of attitude in his tone. He remembered a few things from the dream a few things that happened to his home and his friends… something he didn’t want them to relieve.

When she apologized Bacchus looked at her and blinked not really sure what to do. She was never one to apologize so why now? His jaw opened slightly only to close a second later when he was called a baby. ”Problem is far from solved…” Bacchus said as his voice faded, he laid backwards and slammed his head on his mattress and ran his fingers through his hair. ”I don’t know where I’m supposed to go from here…” he said as he looked up to the ceiling.

"I don't know why we have it. Bragging rights? A collector's piece? Just for the fun of it? I'm not the one who put it there, so I'm not the one to ask." Whoever had taken it hadn't used it since, so it wasn't likely much more than something gained for the hell of it. And if no one ever used it, no one would miss it, so they threw it into a prison. It worked wonders as a battering ram, though it's a shame they never got to fire the gun. "Same goes for the doors. They look nice, and they're easily spotted by anyone looking to find us. But that's just my opinion. Again, I didn't put them there, so I'm not really the right person to ask."

She didn't really appreciate him calling them a waste. She'd always liked them, as eccentric as they were. And they mattered enough for the Order to get involved in a brawl with the Mansion in order to get them back, so apparently people saw them as a little more than just decorations for the Sanctuary.

"I said I was sorry, what the hell more do you want?" she snapped back with an irritated huff. She'd tried explaining her position to him and he was still being difficult. What did he want her to say? She wasn't so sure she had much else to offer him in ways of an explanation or anything else. What a pain.

She gave another huff as he proclaimed that he was glad Haywire had been destroyed. The Order was onto better things by that point, so its destruction wasn't much of an issue any longer. But they'd seen it as important enough to protect in that brawl and a lot of people had gotten hurt because of it, so she wouldn't exactly say it was a good thing the Haywire strain had gone in such a fashion.

"I think it is," she stubbornly replied as he flopped back onto his bed. He was out of jail and back in the Sanctuary, so the issue had been solved. What else was he looking for? She gave a small roll of her eyes as he flopped onto his back. Drama queen.

"What do you mean 'where you're supposed to go'?" she asked as she moved to lean against his dresser, crossing one ankle over the other. "You're back at the Sanctuary. Things are gonna go back to normal and you'll go about business as usual. What else would you be doing?"

Knowing that there wasn’t a particular reason for having a tank or large golden doors Bacchus sighed, he really didn’t know where to go from here, the best way to keep a large flow of money now that Slate wasn’t writing the checks. Rubbing the bridge of his nose to his eyes he let out another sigh. If it weren’t for him throwing out all his alcohol right now would be a perfect time for a drink but again he did learn a few things about himself in prison and one of them was he could think clearer when he was sober, it was something others would and have told him was common sense.

Mind racing between different scenarios on how he should handle things all the while Isabel was snapping at him again not fully understanding the entire situation he was in. She didn’t know how his father was an abusive gambler with a drinking problem and how he got in bad with some worse people and how now he the son of the abusive gambler had to try to clean up the father’s mess less the Bacchus’s own friends would suffer.

Before he could think to stop his thoughts escaped, ”It hasn’t been alright… and it won’t be any time soon…” Bacchus said as he rolled over on his side causing the bed to creak out in stress. He wasn’t supposed to let anyone know, in fact the only person he said anything to was Slate and well, that turned out to be a mistake.

He just hoped Slate didn’t care enough about him to track down the debt collectors and let them know that Bacchus had been running his mouth… no Slate didn’t care and Bacchus didn’t see any benefits in it for him to track down the collectors and let them know Bacchus was indeed asking to find them.

Sitting up with a look of utter confusion and loss Bacchus’s eyes focused on the bottles in front of him. Well that was defiantly going to cut down on his expenses if he did indeed stay dry. ”I need money… lot’s of it!” Bacchus said as his eyes trailed up to Isabel his own mind not really working at the moment seeing as he was out of answers.

Isabel gave a sigh as Bane continued to insist that things weren't settled yet. She was at a loss for what more she could say to him other than what she already had. The whole situation was more frustrating than it should have been and her patience was beginning to wear thin. Trying to argue with someone that rivaled her in her stubbornness was a real hassle.

She was starting to debate leaving him to sulk by himself for the time being. She'd gotten him to talk to her for the first time since they'd made it back tot he Sanctuary after the breakout and hopefully that meant he wouldn't keep ignoring her like he had been. She couldn't offer any more of an explanation than she already had, and she'd already apologized, so she didn't have much more to say to him at the moment anyhow.

However, the sudden shift in his expression when he finally sat up again confused her and she momentarily forgot her debate over leaving him on his own. He'd gone from angry and yelling at her to much more subdued and almost lost looking. She didn't really understand the reason behind it, and she certainly didn't like it.

"What do you need money for?" she asked, wondering when exactly the conversation had shifted away from his problems with being stuck in jail to the current issue. "It's not like it costs anything to live in the Sanctuary, so why would you need funds?"

The giant’s body leaned over itself as while he continued thinking about what his best course of action was. Maybe it was time he did ask for help no sense in not right, clearly not asking for help had been working out so well for him in the past so maybe he could change tactics a bit what was the worst… he didn’t even bother to finish the thought he knew that if he finished it things would indeed turn out for the worst and he wouldn’t be able to cope with that at all.

Out of all the people in America there were only two people that he could actually trust, Ulysses already pieced together the majority of the situation was in and the other was Isabel, even if he didn’t want to admit it seeing as he was still upset about the whole ‘Haven’t talked to you in five months’ thing.

”I never told you why I came to America the real reason I came here… did I?” Bacchus asked curiously as he looked up, he knew he hadn’t but he knew he had talked about it with her a bit at the aquarium but he had been leaving out key details at the time, and seeing as times have changed he might as well answer a few questions he might have created when he was avoiding some other answers.

”Something key I left out about my dear old Dad,” Bacchus paused and laughed a slightly crazed laugh, ”He had a gambling problem and guess who is fortunate enough to pay off his never ending debt?” Bacchus said as he reached a hand up and rubbed it through his hair tiredly.

Isabel waited more patiently than she would have previously thought possible as the Giant remained quiet for a moment. Her irritation was fading almost as quickly as it had been stirred up as the conversation shifted to the existence of an issue she'd been previously unaware of.

Irritation and anger were gradually being replaced by curiosity and a lesser amount of worry. The feelings only grew more prominent as Bane leaned over, seeming to be more lost or insecure about something than the angry sprawling he'd previously been doing.

She shook her head in answer to his inquiry before realizing that he probably couldn't see such a gesture leaned over like he was. "No," she clarified, making sure that he knew she was listening. "You made it sound like you wanted to go home, but didn't really have the ability to for more than a short time. You didn't really say more than that." He had told here there'd be some kind of difference she'd see if whatever the situation was ended up being solved, but he'd never told her exactly what the situation was.

She had to repress a small shudder as he continued. She didn't like the way he'd laughed, there was something unsettling about it. Her curiosity was rapidly being squashed by her feelings of worry.

"A gambling problem?" she parroted, allowing the information to slide into place in her mind amongst the other tidbits of info he'd let slip in the past. "Why would you need to pay off his debt? If its his, why isn't he working to pay it off?" she questioned, not entirely understanding how that worked. "And why come all the way to America to do it?"

Nodding his large head slightly when she mimicked his father’s problem he ran his fingers through his hair again and waited for her to say something else or let the his explanation to sink in a bit more. He stopped waiting when she asked another round of questions about why the giant was stuck with the check instead of the father. Grinning now and laughing another somewhat less crazed laugh he explained, ”Why have the drunk pay when you could have him build more of a debt?” Bacchus asked already clearing his throat to further explain, ”It’s funny, I hate the old man so much to the point where we would go for blood as soon as we see each other but for some reason…”

Another pause and a shrug of his shoulders, ”Guessing he told them something about having a son that was bullet proof so they didn’t think twice before sending me a finger or two to let me know they were serious.” he looked up to Isabel and continued, ”Now when I first got the message I told them to finish the job or I’d gladly do it for them. I didn’t really care what happened to him, fondest memory I had of him was getting a bottle to the head Christmas morning…” he placed his hands on the sides of his head and looked back to the floor, ”Well as you could imagine that didn’t sit right with them, there was a debt that needed to be paid and the father couldn’t do it so why not pass it on to me?”

A loud sigh and his hand reached down for a bottle by his foot and he picked it up and chucked it at the wall letting it shatter and shoot glass in a few directions before he continued, ”Well, the father wasn’t much of a incentive to get work done for them so they targeted the only people I really ever considered my family…” he stood up and walked over onto the glass and picked up a shard and played with it in between his fingers, ”Told me they would square the debt right off by killing them all, and well they were the only people I ever truly considered family so I told’em I’d work for ‘em.”

He looked to Isabel momentarily again as he dropped the shard, ”They have sick senses of humor, the only way I could get any good amount of work done is if all my distractions were out of sight, so they told me to hop on a plane to the states should be far enough for me to get some work done.” He looked down at the floor and sighed, ”Can’t really think someone liked breaking into so many banks without a reason right?” he asked wiping the newly acquired cuts on his fingers (from the shard of glass) on his shirt.

”So my father get’s to stay alive and I’m fighting to make sure my friends don’t get a bullet to the back of the head or a car bomb on the way to work.” he laughed slightly and rubbed his blood free hand over his face, ”It’s all a joke really, one big joke.”

Isabel remained quiet as Bane went on to answer the questions she'd posed, though it was becoming difficult not to pipe up and interrupt him. Why would the debtors sit back and allow the man to keep accumulating debt if their whole purpose was to bully someone into paying them? She could understand them demanding some interest in addition to the owed amount, but it didn't make much sense to allow the initial total to keep rising as the man kept gambling. It was a rather twisted way to keep a source of income heading to them.

She could certainly understand having a poor relationship with a parent, though her own hadn't been so violent as his seemed to be. Not on their half of the relationship anyhow. Her biggest issue had been their ignoring her. The best thing they'd ever done for her was abandoning her when they put her up for adoption.

When the bottle hit the wall she couldn't help but jump, not having expected the sudden sound of shattering glass. It action effectively lifted her from her previous position of leaning against the dresser and into a fully standing one, her arms falling to waist level as her head turned to trace the cause of the noise. He was very obviously frustrated, and she could sympathize to some extent.

She watched warily as he crossed over to where the broken glass had fallen, waiting to see if he'd toss anything else as he continued. She could understand what he was saying completely. The Order was her family now, and she couldn't imagine something bad happening to them. She probably wouldn't have hesitated to do as she was told if her family was in danger, either. It was certainly a low blow.

She simply gave a small shrug to his comment about breaking banks. It was likely a question he wasn't looking for an answer for, so she stayed silent, though there were people that did such things for the fun of it. The Order ad planned to knock down Knox just for a laugh, after all.

"You could have said something earlier, you know," she commented, her attention shifting from his face to the streaks of blood he was decorating his shirt with. "You live here, you're one of us. The Order helps out their own. You've helped us in the past. We could help you."

She paused there for a moment to venture into his bathroom, momentarily rummaging for a hand towel and then soaking half of it in cold water. Wringing out the excess liquid, she reentered the main room and crossed over to the Giant, grabbing for his bleeding hand without offering an explanation.

"Be careful, you big oaf," she momentarily scolded as she worked to wipe away any smudged blood before pressing the cloth lightly against any visible cuts she could find. Cold water usually helped to stop bleeding, as did pressure.

"You'd get this debt paid off a lot faster if you didn't try doing everything by yourself, you know. And sneaking around to keep people from knowing it makes it even harder. There's people that will help if you just ask them," she continued, twisting his hand this way and that as she examined his fingers for any missed areas that may still be bleeding. "And once we settle everything, you'd be free to go back home and see your family whenever you wanted to, for as long as you wanted to. I'm sure they miss you as much as you miss them."
