The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Raphael strode down the hall, head flicking back and forth looking at doors, eyes glowing a dull green as he checked the occupancy of each un-marked door, not bothering with the ones that were clearly labeled. He chose the first one he came to without and occupant, or sign, and found it thankfully empty, and prepped for his take over, however short it would be. He set his duffel bag onto the bed, and sorted through it for a pen and paper. After his quest for writing utensils was completed he made a quick sign, and tacked it up on the outside of his door. He used the name he had earned in the cages and back-alley brawling matches, and the one he felt suited him more, even if he chose not to introduce himself as such. "Deltoid's Room" read the sign. Immediately after finishing his sign he set to the new resident applications that Tricity had given him earlier, and quickly had them filled out. "Now time to explore... and maybe a walk 'round the block." He murmured to himself. Rain-coat and paper in hand he left his room, and walked down the hallway, taking only a moment's stop to slide his new resident papers under Tricity's door, with a small note attached saying that if he had filled something out wrong, to drop the papers back into his new room.
And with that he wandered off downstairs, and outside. Raphael pulled on his rain-coat, glad he had chosen to grab it, as rain began to pelt down. He made up his mind to explore the grounds anyways, explore his new home despite the rain.
Raphael felt drained. Emotionally drained. He had not visited his room for more than five minutes since Whitmore's attack... Which translated into not having gotten a good rest since then either. As it was, he was well over-due for one. He left Cecelia with a smile and a wave, and retreated into the mansion and found his way to his dorm room. Thankfully undisturbed, not that there was much to be messed with in his room. His duffel bag still sat, half full, by the desk. The rest of the room was bare besides what already resided for each newcomer to the mansion.
He took his time crossing the room, dragging the moments out in his mind. He landed on the soft bed and let his mind coax his body into sleep. Though sleep for him was not uneventful. Dreams of the Whitmore attack flooded through them. His own lack of performance to keep Victoria safe shone out into his mind's eye as a beacon. Though Victoria's personage, as often happens in dreams, changed to reflect Raphael's own self doubts and fears. He not only saw Victoria being harmed by his inaction, but also the other women he had come to call friends, Tricity, Jenny, and Cecelia.
He would sleep through the night, and endure his dreams, and wake less refreshed than he had hoped, but certainly better than when he had begun.
