The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Though was listening, the thin film of tears was present in his eyes. "But I CAN heal everything... everyone..." he said almost afraid of how it sounds. "And it's like I have this huge responsibility... this purpose... to do so..." he sighed, leaning back against the backboard of the bed.
He closed his eyes as he took slow deep breaths. "I want to... I just can't ... deal with it sometimes." He opened his eyes with conviction behind them. "I just need to get stronger. And I think... that with stopping my self treatment through chemicals... and you... I think I will." he swallowed hard. He hated sounding like he needed her and putting responsiblity onto her but it was true. She gave him cause. She gave him purpose and lit the fire in his soul...
*Suna put her head down for a moment, but then nodded, and looked up at him with a slight smile.* "Ok...sure. Whatever you feel you need to do, I'm here for you. Just...just don't hesitate to tell me if you need help or if something's wrong, ok?" *She didn't really like the idea of him continuing to help everyone he came in contact with that was in trouble, but he was his own man, and she couldn't and wouldn't stop him from being so. Suna knew the feeling of wanting to help people who were in need. It was the whole philosophy of the dojo...She could better see herself getting hurt than Ruben. Seeing him get hurt or even worse would make her die inside.*
Wrapping his arms around her, Ruben ley her back onto the bed but stayed entwined with her. He gently brushed her hair out of her face and studied her.
"I'm sorry I gave you a scare..." he said quietly.
"I'll be fine... I always am." he smiled meekly. "Or at least will be in due time." Closing his eyes, he kissed her forehead softly. "So... what's on the agenda today?" Ruben asked hoping to put this revalation completely behind them.
*Suna took in a deep breath and exhaled while speaking.* "I don't know. I think I should go check out this, um...Danger Room. Supposedly there are programs in there for combative training that can simulate artificial or actual danger to practice your fighting skills and use of mutations. And I definitely need my fix of nature, so I was going to go out on the lawn, stretch and such. What were you planning on doing?"
"I suppose I'll talk to Tricity... perhaps about helping with that cause..." he said. "I still don't know what use I'd be if we were really in danger... I'm not much of a fighter." he said with just a hint of shame. "Though my ability can be offensive... I'd prefer it not to be. I always feel... strange afterwards. Out of myself." he sighed.
"I wish we could spend the day in bed." he suddenly grinned as his hand moved down her body, pulling her closer.
*Suna smirked back and kissed him softly.* "Hmmm, me too...and don't talk like you wouldn't be help to the X-Men. I'm sure they need a medic on the team." *She wrapped her leg around him.* "Stop tempting me. I need to get out of bed... I'm usually up at 8am the latest and it's already 11 o'clock!"
Ruben laughed slightly. "So What? I'll just hide behind my tough ninja girlfriend until someone's hurt?" he joked.
Setsuna's legs around him caused him to get around almost immediately. He shifted his pelvis thrusting just slightly into her and letting out a playful moan through his gentle grin.
"ME? TEMPT YOU? NEVER!" he said over dramatically as he moved in and slowly kissed her lips, locking his own with hers and sucked gently...
"Rubeeen! Come oooon..." *But there wasn't really much fighting against his attempts as she kissed his neck and moved down to his collarbone.* "Ugh, I blame you completely. I'm supposed to be training! If I don't stick to a tight schedule, I begin to get lazy. Lazy ninjas are pretty useless, Ruben!" *Suna said as she moved back up his neck and whispered in his ear.* "What good would I be in helping fight this Whitmore, then? Hmmm?"
"Riiight right right..." Ruben said with a sigh. "How could I have forgotten..." he moved to get out of bed, rolling Setsuna onto her back and kissing her stomach as he moved past her towards his dresser.
Pulling out a turquoise dress shirt that seemed to match his eyes quite well, he looked back at the young woman who had bought his new clothes with a smile. He quickly put on a pair of jeans and rolled the sleeves of the dresshirt up, leaving his hair messy.
"Well... I guess I'll talk to Tricity about ... joining the X-Men." It sounded strange from his lips. 'X-Men'. Sounded almost childish. Then again it was better than 'Mutant Vigilantes'.
Taking Setsuna's hands to pull her out of bed, Ruben yanked her into a big hug which turned into a romantic dip. He grinned as he let the tip of his nose tickle up her neck as she dangled in his arms. "M'lady.. shall we continue this later?" he asked with the most debonaire expression he could muster.
*She smiled and stared into his eyes for a very long moment, before snapping back to and answering.* "Uh, yes...absolutely!" *Suna stood up and rummaged through her dresser to find some workout clothes. She took out a black sports bra with black sweats, ripping the store tags off.* "Ya know, we don't actually have to join the X-Men. I just figured we could help them out. I don't really know what the responsibilities of being a part of the X-Men are..." *She leaned against the dresser in thought.*
"Well its not like I was just going to join the effort without finding more out about them... and I'm sure they have a screening process so I may not even be elligable!" he said shrugging.
"Either way... if you're going out into danger I want to be there... like your guardian angel." he said with a wink.
Walking over to Setsuna and kissing her cheek lightly, Ruben whispered before another kiss delivered to her ear. "Have a good workout babe."
He then turned to leave through the door, off to find the headmistress and get some answers...
*She nodded at him as he left the room and sat on the bed in deep thought, but decided thinking would only make her assume things she shouldn't. Suna quickly changed and searched high and low for something to tie her hair back with. Without success, she left their bedroom, closing the door behind her.* janie: "HI!!" *Suna turned around in shock, putting her hand to her chest in natural reaction to the scare.* "Geez, kid. You scared me...hey, you wouldn't happen to have a hair tie, would you?" janie: "COURSE I DO! Ms. Tipper does my hair all the time." *The little girl dug deep in her pocket and pulled out several ties along with a rubber ball and lint. She proudly handed it over to Suna.* "Thanks, Janie. Do you know where the Danger Room is?" janie: "Yup, it's in the basement...but I can't go in there cause I'm too young." "Ok, well can you bring me there?" *Janie grabbed Suna's hand and began running down the hallway.* janie: "YUP! COME ON!!" *Suna jogged along with the girl as she ran down the stairwell and through the various halls to get to the Danger Room. Suna decided running around with Janie would be workout enough for her, but she really couldn't skip out on these simulations Tricity spoke of. Within less than a minute, Janie stopped in front of a room which she pointed at.* janie: "Here it goes. I gotta go for now. See you later!!" *The little girl jogged away quickly and Suna had to press against the wall as a few more boys came charging down the hallway.* "Damn..it never slows down here." *Suna pushed open the doorway and stepped inside.*
Setsuna pushed open the door and sadly, but knowingly, saw that she was still alone and the familiar belongings to another she was missing terribly were not there. She quickly undressed to her underwear and grabbed an oversized t-shirt to put on. Within less than 30 seconds of coming into the bedroom, Suna was already lying under the covers of her queen sized bed and staring at the ceiling.
Her mind went off into deep thought as it did every night when she lay there alone. 'Where is he,' she began thinking as she stared at the ceiling. 'Has he gone back to those...needles. Those...treatments? Was it something I said? We moved too fast...' Suna shifted in the bed and lay on her side, a single tear rolling down her cheek and across her nose. 'Maybe I should check again at the shelter? But...obviously if he's there again, he doesn't want to be with me. UGH!!' Suna groaned and turned on her other side. She wiped the tear away and quickly blanked her mind out in order to sleep. It was one of the first things she learned to do through training, but when her mind came to Ruben, it was impossible to do anything properly.
