The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Since all the doctors and nurses were busy fleeing the scene, and the father was cowering behind the bed, he really didn't have a choice. He could guess what would happen if Saph let out the ooomph he'd stored from the fall. They'd probably be scraping mantis off the walls for the rest of the afternoon. Not an option.
Picking up the syringe,Gawain put a palm against the nearest reflecting surface, the tiles on the wall. Getting out of Candy's range he walked around, and stepped out of the tiles on the other side. He paused for a spit second, syringe in hand, pondering where the mantis would be tender enough not to break the needle in. He didn't have experience i medicine. There's goota be a first for everything...
Candy let out a girlish yelp, then bug-eye-blinked at Masochist a couple of times, before she sunk to the floor. Gawain tossed the syrince into a corner and caught her before she hit her head. "See, this is how ya get a woman off her feet." he glanced up at Saphirus "Ya'll right? Help me get her back on the bed."
The father was still cowering, now more than ever. Once the mantis girl was lying down again, Gawain walked over to the other bed, flung his legs over it, and sat on the edge, staring down at the man. "You gotta think 'bout her future now, y'know. They can't keep her out cold forever." The man nodded. "Now, we're from Xavier's Sister School. 'tis a place for mutant kids. Boardin' school and stuff. Pretty cool." The man nodded again. "I suggest ya give them a call and bring her over there. It's safe. And has death traps to keep the vultures away." The man nodded, more or less convinced. "Very good." Gawain nodded too "Look, I know she's a celebrity an' all. Lotsa kids like her, and look up to her, and stuff. So you'd better make sure she sets a good example. We don' want kids jumpin' off buildings left an' right 'cause they developed a mutation. Hear me?" Another nod. "Make an efford, pal, and make her feel loved." Nod. "Eeexcellent. Well, I think we'll be off then" the young knight stood, looking at Saphirus, then back at the man "See you around."

Saph sighed with relief as the young woman slumped on top of him, and he pushed the claw away from his shoulder. He took another deep breath, and then helped get the mantis back onto the table.
Saph then let his heart slow down once more, letting mirror do most of the talking. When Gawain was done, Saph grinned and leaned into the still shivering man, patting him on the cheek a few times. "See ya later, Slappy... You be good now, y'hear?" The man nodded slowly one final time, and Saph turned to Gawain to notion toward the door.
He turned to leave, sure that Gawain was right behind him. He spoke as he walked. "Well... That didn't go nearly as bad as I thought it might... Lets hurry and get to the car... I didn't mean to leave it sitting for so long."
He walked right on out of the hospital and onto the streets, pausing. "Eh... should we hoof it, or get a taxi?"
((permission to bring Saph to with you to the car either way))
"I don' know 'bout you, but I have no cash for a cab, so. Let's go." Gawain looked around, getting a good idea of which direction they should go, and staerted walking down the street with Masochist. There were still reporters wandering around the hospital.
"I think we did a decent job in there" he mused as they walked "Except for, y'know, knockin' her out cold. Twice. And we'll prolly make the news too. And I don' think the father loves us much." he grinned "But still, I doubt the X-men could have done any better."
It was true. They weren't even in the country to take care of things. For an impromtu mission, this one was not half bad. It took them some time to get back to where they'd left the car. "It'd better still be there..." Gawain muttered as they rounded the corner "Or else..."

Saph nodded as Gawain chose to walk, following him, and making funny faces at the random reporters he saw here and there. Some just ignored him, some recognized them and took pictures, but all were trying to get a scoop on the mantis girl, rather than her saviors.
"Yeah, It coulda gone worse... If you wouldn'ta hurried I woulda candy coated the inside of that room, if you catch my drift." He grinned. "I don't mind the public eye on me if you don't; Y'know you aint so bad at the whole public speaking thing... I mean, when you aint yellin at the media... You ever think-a givin it a try?" Saph didn't really know a thing about diplomacy... Sure, he had talked his way out of some sticky situations before, but he usually ended up swinging his fists before too long.
By the time they reached the parking area, his arm was twitching, and ached badly.... He clenched his fist to stop the random spasms, but he knew that he really needed to get rid of this force soon.
Saph rounded the corner, and paused... where was the car? All he saw was a big Oscar mayer wiener mobile! He freaked, breaking into a speed hobble in the direction of the parking spot. "Aww jesus christ, f$^@ my life and call me Sally! " He rounded the large hot dog, and suddenly sighed with relief... the car was still there... "Scared me... Why the hell did this guy park right next to me when this parking lot's practically empty?" he looked around... the whole lot was pretty much empty... oh well, he thought to himself, at least the car was fine...
He looked back to Gawain somewhat embarrassed at his freak out. "Eh... sorry about that... If anything happened to this car I'm sure i would be screwed three ways from sunday... well, lets go ahead and... wait a second." What was that he saw? No... He stepped into the space in between the wiener car and Streak's ride to get a closer look... No... There was a scratch. His eyes darted from his borrowed car to the mayer mobile, making the quick calculations one made when they suspected someone had 'doored' their car...
"Son of a... What kinda prick...ohhh... that's it... Kid, you never saw this."
Saph planted his hand on the side of the mobile, and WHAM! Let go every little bit of energy he had collected... The top heavy machine quickly tipped over, and crashed onto its side. Saph gave a solid nod, and unlocked the car quickly, getting in as fast as he could.
>>"I don't mind the public eye on me if you don't; Y'know you aint so bad at the whole public speaking thing... I mean, when you aint yellin at the media... You ever think-a givin it a try?"
"Nope." Gawain lied.
>>"Aww jesus christ, f$^@ my life and call me Sally! "
Gawain blinked, not really seeing at first why Masochist suddenly got so eloquent; then it dawned on him: they were missing a car. A damn expensive car owned by an X-man. Oops.
Saphirus found it. It was hidden behind the big ugly... whatever that vehicle was. The one that apparently had scratched their... ride.
>>"Son of a... What kinda prick...ohhh... that's it... Kid, you never saw this."
WHAM. Gawain fully approved of the wham. Holy cow, if he let that much energy out on the mantis before... well, yeah. Good thing he kept it for something inanimate.
>>"Lets get the hell out of here!"
"Good thinkin'" Gawaina greed as he jumped into the car "Let's roll."
And we'd better use the next thirty minutes thinking about a good excuse for having this car scratched... Who is the owner anyway?

The engine kicked into life, and Saph got away from the scene of the cr... Incident as fast as the Camaro would take them.
"I'm screwed, man... Streak is gonna freakin kill me! I mean, he seems like a nice guy but, hell, I want to kick my a@# for scratching this car!" He took a left, and right, and then another left... "And he's in charge, too! you don't think they'll boot me for this, do you? I mean, it was for a good cause!" He seemed pretty panicked by now. "Jesus... I'm just... eh... No word of this, okay? Maybe we can buff it out or somethin? You know, like... he won't notice?"
He paused as he stopped at a red light, and looked to Gawain. "You gotta give me a hand with this... You'll help me, right?" He sped up again, and finally pulled into the mansion. They would have to see if there was anything in the garage that could make the scratch less noticable...
>>"I'm screwed, man... Streak is gonna freakin kill me! I mean, he seems like a nice guy but, hell, I want to kick my a@# for scratching this car!"
"Well, technically, you didn't scratch it. You just stole it." Gawain smirked "C'mon, Masochist, chill, or ya're gonna crash it an' that's waay worse than a scratch."
Because Saphirus was driving like a madman. Even Gawain, who was used to Emmy's driving habits, didn't feel comfortable at the moment.
>>"You gotta give me a hand with this... You'll help me, right?"
"Sure." Gawain nodded "I don' know who the heck the car belongs to, but he's and X-men, so killin' ya right away would probably get him booted too." That didn't sound all that comforting, now that he thought about it. "Sooo, when he notices the scratch we jus' gonna have to explain why we needed the car, an' how it got scratched. It's not like there's a ride aroun' here labeled 'Use this for emergency rescue missions'" he shrugged, looking around in the garage "An' have ya ever heard of superheroes arriving to the rescue on the bus?..."

Saph put the car in park, pulled the keys from the ignition, and leaned his head bar, looking at the car's ceiling. "It's Silver Streaks car... He's... He's one of the people in charge here." Saph leaned his head forward again, and opened the car door, climbing out slowly, and shutting it neatly.
He stared at the scratch for a moment, and then turned to Gawain, who seemed to be looking around the garage. "No, but damn... Why did I have to take the awesome car?" Then again, looking at the cars in here... Most of them were pretty high end... Where the hell did these people get enough money to afford such awesome cars?! He sighed, and started searching the garage for anything that might make the scratch a little less noticeable. "You think he'll boot me out? You'll back be up if he catches us, right? Tell our side of the story?" Saph had calmed down considerably; he spoke in a calm tone as he reached onto a shelf and picked up a white microfiber cloth. He dampened it, and walked on over to the car, trying to see if it was one of those scratches that disappeared with a little waxing.
