The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

December 2nd. The date streamed by on the bar of text below the image on the television set in Lenna's room. The news was broadcasting the story once again. Yesterday, on December 1st, Parliament had been rocked by a series of bombs. Many politicians had been injured. Many others, rescued.
Lenna crossed her arms, and leaned back on the bed as she watched the footage again. Her eyes narrowed on each face the cameras caught.
So destructive. Whoever had done this had set back the efforts Lenna and Alexandra had gone through by a leap and a bound. Accusations were aplenty. The obvious forerunner in public opinion was 'mutant terrorism'. Extremist mutants were to blame. That's what many said.
Lenna was uncertain. All she knew was that this didn't look good for the swathe of humanity she'd been trying to 'help'.
It didn't look good... but perhaps... the Kabal member had a sinking suspicion her leader wouldn't have let such an opportunity go unused. It was a leap of faith. She'd have to wait and find out if her prediction was right.
But regardless of that, she sensed troubles on the winds. A quick call to a friend in New York was in order.
Lenna shifted away from the television, over to the phone in the room. Her hand hovered over the receiver, then stopped. She reached into her pocket for her iPhone, and thumbed through her contacts list. In all likelihood, the hotel's room phones weren't bugged. Still. One couldn't be too careful.
"Hey, Ivan. It's me, Rebecca." Another false name from her address book. The man on the other end of the line responded with groggy curiosity. What could she possibly want at that hour? Did she realize it was 3AM there!? Lenna glanced at her watch. The mouse hands pointed to the ten and the 12.
7 hour difference.
Yes, she had noticed. It didn't matter, though. "Becky needs a gun." Silence, then questions. Lenna nodded through the information. Yes, he could have it to her by a certain date, certain time. Yes, he'd need to go through special companies, and use special methods to get it through customs. Yes to all that. Bricks were falling, Ivan. Getting that package to Romania as soon as possible was all-important. This place was going to be a powder keg.
Now that that was out of the way, Lenna turned her mind to the next task.
A gun was fine, really, but she needed something beyond mere firearms. She needed allies. One couldn't count too much on the Kabal. Friends were an asset. If the situation grew any more severe, she'd need the help. Once the Kabal gave that call...
Lenna reached into her pocket. It was time to call on the piece she'd plucked up before she joined with Slate. It was time to call Meld.
