The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Alexandra nodded approvingly as the ham sandwiches took a swim in the mix of ingredients in the bowl. “Sea dogs?” She questioned curiously while looking at Shin. Probably not dogs of the sea, she assumed.
The ham sandwiches took a short trip to the sandwich maker. Closing the device on them, Alexandra turned to Shin, awaiting further explanations on what the ‘sea dogs’ were.

"A special type of hot dog. The New York Aquarium makes them. They're pretty good. Lots of fixings, an option on chili, caramelized onions... probably one of my favorite New York food groups, barring curry."
His eyes dropped to the pot of water. It still hadn't reached the boiling point yet. Shin looked back to Alexandra. "What about you? What's your favorite food?"
“Must try one of those…” Alexandra replied with a slight smile. She glanced at the sandwich maker, spying on the moment when the red light will turn green, announcing that the sandwiches where ready.
“As for favorite foods… dunno…” She blinked, shifting her attention back to Shin, a thoughtful look on her face. “With my healthy diet stuff to go with the training pretty much that has some sort of good taste is a favorite…” Alexandra smirked. “But one must take a break from healthy stuff once in a while.” She nodded toward the sandwich maker. French toasted ham sandwiches didn’t quite fall in the healthy category. “Or… on dates. Can you imagine me drooling over Sam’s burger while I’m stuck with a salad?”
Laughing, she looked at the device. As if on cue, the red turned into green. Grabbing two plates, Alexandra retrieved the ham sandwiches and proudly presented one to Shin. “Bon appetite.”

Diet... nope. No. He'd never heard of one of those. What with his training, and his morning run routine, and Thor keeping him on his toes, Shin never really had to worry about packing on the pounds. He earned every bite. Though he had to note that eating healthy had its perks...
"'Good food is always hard to pass up', my sister always says, 'even when the good food is absolutely horrible for ya'." Shin held up a knowing finger.
Shin turned to his now-boiling water, and took it off the burner. He poured himself a mug, and added the cocoa mix. As Alexandra moved the sanwiches to the table, Shin walked himself over and had a seat. Absently, he stirred his drink.
"It looks delicious," He grinned, picking his sandwich up in both hands. He opened his mouth and dug in. "That reminds me," He commented, during a break in his chewing. "Do you have any family? Siblings...? I've never asked. What with Sam's Dom, and all the other crazy relatives popping up in the mansion, one can never be too sure..."
Alexandra laughed at the quote Shin provided while she picked up the two plates and placed them on the table. A short trip to retrieve her coffee mug later, Alexandra was sitting in front of her plate, ham sandwich in hand.
The dish proved to be quite delicious, at least from her point of view. Another bite was taken… one that almost got stuck in her throat when Shin asked her about relatives. With difficulty, she swallowed, pondering on the answer she should give.
Family was a rather sensitive subject. With her parents kill- sorry, dead, and her sister gone missing, Alexandra preferred this part of her life to be kept in the shadows. Sighing as blue eyes rose to meet Shin’s, she finally decided on an answer.

>>“Not anymore.”
That implied she'd had some at one point. Maybe her parents had died. Shin frowned. He knew how it felt to lose parents. His had only recently disowned him, after all.
"That's too bad. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have Kokoro and Sasami on my side. It's nice having someone to care about you, no matter what..." He paused, and did some more chewing. Food for thought. "Thish ish really good, by da way." He shook the ham sandwich for emphasis, while talking through a mouthful of food. A gulp. Shin continued, with force renewed. "I need to get the recipe, and learn how to cook, because darn." It was certainly better than lime jello.
Alexandra half mouthed a “Yeah…[/url]” in response to Shin’s comment before letting her attention to be fully occupied by munching on the ham sandwich… and random thoughts concerning family, of course.
"Thish ish really good, by da way. I need to get the recipe, and learn how to cook, because darn."
After chewing on the last bit of sandwich, Alexandra smiled. “I still need to give you the pancake recipe, too.” She nodded slightly, remembering a quite amusing training session that started with a Shin and a deranged stomach.
Laughing briefly, Alexandra let her eyes travel away from Shin… and to the clock that glared at her menacingly. “Oh God. The Doc is going to kill me!” She looked back at Shin half tempted to smack herself. “I need to go before I’ll be buried in paperwork for the rest of my life!” The chair was pushed back rapidly as Alexandra already started to quickly move toward the door.
Stop. Turn back.
Pick up coffee. Because she needed it.
“Later Shin! Nice talking to you!” The last few words were spoken [shouted] from the hallway as she raced toward the Infirmary.
Hopefully the Doc was too busy to notice she was late. Again.
