The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Shin's
Jaw
Dropped.
"I... I didn't..." Abyss did. "No wonder you'd think I was a slum dog if my body asked some skuzzy question like that. Eesh." He made a face of detest. That was... that wasn't something he'd ask just any old girl. Definitely not Alexandra. Abyss had just gone out and tried to hook up with some girl while he was in Shin's body? And while he was wearing a cast!? Good lord... that was...
Shin shifted his mind away from just what 'that was'. Philandering. Making time. Macking time.
"I wouldn't cheat on Kasumi for anything, Alex... Kasumi..." Shin's honest eyes met Alexandra's. His voice faltered slightly in his admission. "I-I love her." Shin looked down at his lap. His hands were clenching his knees. A faint hint of red was on his cheek. Wow. He'd actually admitted it out loud... Shin met Alexandra's gaze again. This time, he repeated his message straightforwardly, with nary a quiver. "I love her, Al... so I would never do something to hurt her like that... Kasumi... is my world."
He lowered his eyes. "I'm sorry I couldn't do more to stop my body from hitting on you, Alex... I was too busy protecting Kasumi while she had some other girl's face. She was scared, and I was... I came to the mansion to drop off our bikes, but I didn't give Shawn the 'story'. Didn't think he'd believe me... I was wearing a member of the Order's face, after all... and..." Shin shook his head and looked up at her again. "Honestly? After that, I got hit by a car. And shot at. My priorities changed."
Alexandra just blinked. A bit confused, she was. She scratched the back of her head, slightly taken aback while blue eyes wandered somewhere on the wall behind Shin. “Shin…” Her eyes moved back on the figure of the Asian. “I know… I mean… that’s why I haven’t mentioned this before… cause it seemed awfully strange and… oh well, totally unlike you.”
The molecule manipulator sighed, letting her hand drop from behind her head onto her lap, joining the other. “I know you like… errr, love Kasumi.” Blink. ”And, … I don’t know, I continued to think that some mutant has been playing tricks on your mind or something.” Alexandra smiled slightly. “I know this must sound strange but… I’m happy that there was someone else in your body.”
Pushing herself off the arm of the couch, she took a step forward toward Shin, and after hesitating for a brief moment, she placed her hand on his shoulder. “I know you wouldn’t harm Kasumi. And…” Alexandra sighed, pausing for a slight moment. “When you were here… you could have told me the story. Not Shawn. I would have trusted you even if you were in the body of someone else.” With a reassuring pat, Alexandra removed her hand off Shin's shoulder, somehow, feeling relieved.

He knew he loved Kasumi. He knew she'd understand, understood. As for coming up to the mansion, and talking to her in Abyss's body? While a nice gesture as far as 'saying it' goes, it was far from practical. He couldn't have. He wouldn't have. Shawn had run him off. He'd broken the front door's intercom... that door had been closed.
It didn't matter. What she'd said stayed. Shin clenched his knees, and looked up at her weakly.
"So, we're good right?" Wishful thinking. The question came out sounding rotten and stale. Alex seemed to be working through it. Her words had been reassuring... still, Shin couldn't help but feel his comment was 'too soon'.
Shin said, and yet he didn’t see to sure of it. Alexandra smiled a reassuring smile. She gave a small nod before returning to her seat on the arm of the couch. “I trust you, Shin. I know that you wouldn’t make me feel uncomfortable, I know that you wouldn’t do anything to harm Kasumi… and I know that you wouldn’t do anything to hurt Sam.” Again, she smiled, in an attempt to make Shin more comfortable. She knew that probably he would still be bothered by what Abyss had done in his body and she couldn’t do much about it, except assuring the Asian that she believed what he said. . “So yeah, we’re good.”

"Okay, great." Shin slumped forward and let out a breath. Relief felt good. Though, there was still the matter of the tattoo... still the matter of whether or not she was just saying it to make him feel better, or telling the truth. Those bridges could all be burned later. For now...
Shin pondered what to do. A momentary lull in the drama brought clarity.
"So. Do you know any good places to have a tattoo removed? I... imagine it'd be painful. What'd Abyss get me, anyways?" His eyes rose to meet hers. Morbid curiosity, Shinbo. We are in the danger zone!! Somehow, he had a feeling he wouldn't like the reply.
"So. Do you know any good places to have a tattoo removed? I... imagine it'd be painful. What'd Abyss get me, anyways?"
Yeah, she suspected that these questions would be asked eventually. A hand traveled to the back of her head, scratching it lightly. “Errr, I don’t know any places… at least not in New York.” Her hand fell back on her lap as she smiled apologetically before continuing. “But we can google it or something. I think that there should be plenty of places.” Shrug. “I’ll come with you if you wanna, after all I got you this so I guess I owe you.” Again, an apologetic smile. “As for what he got you… ” Alexandra crossed her legs while trying to remember the exact picture which the Shinabyss presented to her before they left. “Some anime girl, I think. Didn’t actually see the result since, well, it was tattooed on your… butt.”

"Oh... darn... phone book search time, I guess..." Shin frowned. Though, he could always attempt to take it off himself with shards and a mirror... and a nearby healer, for safety's sake? Though, that was highly extreme. Badass, but... he didn't want to lose an... ass. If he cut off his own tail end, that'd bring endless humor to the world, wouldn't it? He certainly didn't want to be the butt of those jokes... they'd be far too cheeky.
Okay, enough with the bun puns, hon. He had too much of that junk in his mental trunk. That was just redonkulous. And Anime girl on my butt, she says? "Fantasstic... I hope it was at least a good one. Not something from some sort of junk anime, like Strike Witches or Queen's Blade." Shin shuddered at that thought. Any girls on his back, he'd prefer fully clothed... or not jetlolis. Yes... not that...
Alexandra smiled at Shin fantasstic remark. “I’m clueless when it comes to anime so…” She didn’t have much to say about Strike Witches or Queen’s Blade so she let her words trail into the air.
Now that that was all solved, Alexandra pushed herself of the couch and made a few small steps forward, stopping next to Shin’s chair. “Well, I’m heading to the kitchen to grab a bite before going to the Infirmary so if you wanna join me you’re more than welcome.”

"Sandwich? I could go for one... sure..." Shin pushed off, and got to his feet. "Ham sandwiches sound better than watching yet another episode of The Price is Right or Mr. Roger's Neighborhood. Is there potential cheese? I... think there's potential cheese. Think they went shopping and restocked the kitchen this morning. Could be wrong."
He moved to follow Alexandra as they made their way to the kitchen. It felt better now... less awkward. Still, butt tattoo revelations weren't something he'd want every day... "Thanks, Al." Shin commented absently as he walked out the door. "At least now I know."
((OOC: Thread for Shin, endeth? Unless you wanna RP out ham sandwiches and talkin', which could be fun, y'know? Maybe with some gossip? What's the dish?))
“Sandwich it is.” Alexandra laughed as she glanced at Shin over the shoulder. The ‘thank you’ received a smile. Alexandra wasn’t sure what else she could say besides what had already been spoken.
The kitchen was somewhere next to empty compared with the during the week days. Near the window, a boy and a girl, probably not older than 16, were holding steaming cups in their hands. From time to time, the girl would giggle at something the boy said while he’d only smirk.
At the table, Chi, the omnilingual teacher was having coffee while reading the newspaper while Kara, the source of gossip around the mansion was reaching for the cookie jar. Tilting her head to the side, Alexandra moved near the fridge, nodding her head at the two mansion residents near the window. The girl waved while the boy replied with another nod. “Hi Chi, how’s it going?” The man shifted his attention to the two arrivals, smiling briefly. “Hello. Just reading the newspaper.” Alexandra nodded slightly as Chi returned to reading the newspaper and she turned toward Shin “Okay Shin. Simple Ham Sandwiches or some French Toasted Ham Sandwiches?”

"You know, for the life of me," Shin began slowly. "I have never eaten French toast ham sandwiches. Sure, I've eaten fried octopus and squid, but never that... it sounds tasty. I'm for it." He slipped into the kitchen, past the boy and girl. A giggle trickled by him as he passed. Shin glanced back at Alexandra as he pulled a pan down from a cabinet. "I think I'll make some cocoa... do you want anything, Alexandra? Coffee? Tea?"
Alexandra laughed briefly at Shin’s answer. “Yeah, not a very popular ham sandwich that is. Read the recipe a while ago. It’s quite good.” She nodded slightly before shifting her attention to the fridge and opening the door. So… eggs, milk, ham, butter. She retrieved the necessary ingredients and moved to one of the counters.
"I think I'll make some cocoa... do you want anything, Alexandra? Coffee? Tea?"
The girl and the boy moved away from the window, apparently heading to the living room. Alexandra didn’t pay much attention. She turned her head to Shin, a thoughtful look upon her face. Tough choice. In the end she decided upon “Coffee sounds good.” Smiling briefly, she shifted her attention on her own task. Ham sandwiches.
The pink eared Mansion radio finally managed to retrieve the cookie jar. Out of the corner of her eye, Alexandra noticed Kara taking a handful of cookies from the jar and feasting on them. When she extended her hand toward the jar again, a small frown appeared on the molecule manipulator’s face. “Kara, not so many cookies. You’re gonna come to the infirmary complaining about toothaches again. Sugar usually does that, you know?” A pout appeared on the little girl’s face. “But…” Alexandra shook her head. “That pout might work on Sam. Unfortunately, not on me.” An exaggerated sigh left Kara’s mouth before she pulled her hand out. “Okay Miss Kettler.” She said defeated before turning around and leaving the kitchen.
“Kids…” Alexandra muttered, before moving to a cabinet to retrieve the bread, then to another to grab the salt and the sugar. With all ingredients at hand, she glanced over at Shin, spying on what he was doing. “So… what you have been up to lately?” She asked while picking up a knife. Shifting her attention back to the ham sandwiches, Alexandra started to slice the bread.

>>“Coffee sounds good.”
"How do you take it?" Shin asked. A hand moved up to the cabinet to pull out the cocoa mix. Shin measured out the milk for the pan. His eyes skimmed down the instructions on the cocoa packet, then darted over to Alexandra as she related her answer. Shin nodded.
He walked over to the coffee pot, and checked. They were in luck. It seemed there was already a pot brewed up. Chi's newspaper rustled. He sipped from the telltale coffee mug.
"Hey, Chi. Can I?" He tapped the top of the coffee maker. The omnilingual man glanced over the top of his newspaper. Shin waited a moment. Chi nodded.
"Sure."
"Thanks," Shin replied with a smile. Coffee trickled from the pot into a red Christmas coffee mug. Shin trundled the mug over to the table, and set it down for Alexandra.
>>“So… what you have been up to lately?”
"Stealing coffee," Shin deadpanned. He paused, and put a finger to his lips, considering the serious answer to the question. "Aside from that, nothing interesting. Training, paperwork... you? How's the relationship going with Sam?"
Alexandra needed a bowl. “Black.” She replied, while rummaging trough the contents of one of the cabinets searching for the perfect sized bowl. Once she found it, she placed it on the counter. The Christmas themed coffee mug was pushed next to her. Alexandra nodded, smiling slightly. “Thanks.”
Eggs fell into the bowl, quickly followed by the milk. Salt and a small spoon of sugar were next.
"Stealing coffee. Aside from that, nothing interesting. Training, paperwork... you? How's the relationship going with Sam?"
Alexandra stopped from mixing the ingredients together, instead tilting her head to the side as she looked at Shin. She was unsure how she should answer. Good? Probably, judging by the fact that she was happy. She smiled. “It’s going well, I think.” Alexandra shifted her attention back to the bowl. “I guess there’s no need to ask you how’s it going with Kasumi. You pretty much told me earlier.” For a second, she glanced at Shin, smiling.

"That's good," Shin replied quietly. He wandered back to the stove top, and looked at the pot for his cocoa. He paused. Suddenly, he remembered he didn't know how to make the hard stuff. He just knew how to use the powdered mix. That only took boiling water. That said, Shin ran the pot under the sink, and got to boiling water.
"And yeah," He glanced back at her with a smile. "Things are going well with me and Kasumi. She likes Sea Dogs." He said the last bit absentmindedly. It didn't even pass through his head that Alexandra might not know what a Sea Dog was. Certainly not a dog of the sea, that was certain. And if she wasn't familiar with the New York Aquarium's hot dog specialty... Shin had to tell Sam to introduce her to them. It was a 'good thing'. Why wouldn't one share a 'good thing'?
