The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Tythan headed down the hall to the music room. As he suspected it was locked, but that hardly bothered him. He pulled out the music note key. His passport to liberation. The door swung open as he turned the key in the lock. He could have just merged through the door, but why waste energy before pouring his entire being into the piano?
He flicked on the light and stepped over to the beautiful instrument beckoning him from the middle of the room. He carefullly lifted up the lid of the grand piano and sat down in front of it. He had practiced over an hour each day and he still had a week to go before the competition. Yet, he had memorized all three pieces he had chosen. All that remained was polishing them off - an effort that definitely would take the final week.
He opened up his music. Memorized or not, it was always good to have the music [and all the details it entailed] directly in front of him. His parents were supposed to arrive in the next hour... that was the real reason he was down here to subdue the anticipation.
That was it, no more thinking. He started straight into the middle section of Schubert's Impromptu No. 2 in E flat Major . It served as his warm up pretty much every time he played and it was less technical than the rest of the piece, so he could play it right off the bat. After warming up and getting the section to a reasonably good place, he began to work through the rest of the piece. Unfortunately, his fingers were moving faster than they could play and his mind thought that he could play even faster. Before long he found himself repeating the same section 15 times in a row, each time getting more aggravated. Maybe it was time to switch to Chopin.
And so he began to practice the second piece he had chosen, the piece that his teacher had said was "his" piece: Chopin Nocturne Op. 27 No 1
[OOC: If no one joins this it's totally fine, it's just sort of a filler section to bring in Tythan's parents and lead up to the performance...But feel Free! Also, both these songs (and the third one that i haven't mentioned yet) are pieces I have played or am playing myself, although these recordings are much better than how i play it. FInally, the chopin recording is a little too dramatic for how i'd like it...That's all!]

Half an hour on the Chopin and Tythan was pretty much entirely relaxed. He felt really good about the piece. It sounded great, and he had finally nailed down the middle section. So, now that he was all relaxed, he figured it was time to start into the approximate opposite of Chopin...Rachmaninoff.
He had learned this piece a while ago, and it had a certain value to him. It was the piece in which he had finally begun to see his potential and how much he actually loved music. Before starting into it, he checked his watch. He still had an hour before his parents arrived.
Wait, how is that possible... when i came down here it was only an hour.... AARGH! I checked my clock when i came up with that time... and i haven't changed it for daylight savings time yet!!!!!
He rubbed his forehead with his hand. That clock was becoming the bane of his existence.
NO matter, i can spend a whole hour on Rachmaninoff...i think.
He placed the music in front of him and started into his third piece: Rachmaninoff's Prelude in C sharp minor.
[OOC: I'll try to get a link up for this piece soon. But right now, YouTube isn't loading for some reason...]
