Tyranny stood poised over her query, her lip was bleeding, He was involved in the Kp tragedy, He worked among the security there at the time, he was a mutant who could make it so hot glass would melt. He had failed to keep the facilities secure. and she supposed he thought she worked for KP.
His and ankle laid at an unnatural angle and was ballooning up like it would pop any moment now. He had been involved, he wasn't innocent like the sewer dwellers, he was a criminal and he was looking up at her crying. babbling about responsibilities, about mercy. about doing the right thing, he was throwing religion at her, all as he squirmed backwards dragging his body through his front yard.
She glanced in the lawn and noted a Tricycle. Damn it! a tricycle.
She squatted down looking at the man "So, You got kids?"
"Ye...yes, please don't."
"I used to have parents, what do you know about the twenty o-seven incident?"
"I worked there, it got out of control, it was havoc. the police didn't even want a part of it. I am sorry, I should have done a better job."
"You should have." She glnced at the house and then the address...this wasn't his house, it was one off. She glanced next door and saw a yard with two mangy looking, underfed dogs sitting on their behinds, watching with bored interest. juror's showed up to watch a sentence take place, short chains, burn spots...no water, no food. she looked at pile of unreturned toys on the porch...and the mans rusted address near the mail box.
"so, no one is gonna miss you after were done huh? Your dogs sure won't." The pair of pooches is what convinced her he was on the heartless side. the fact that they couldn't care less convinced her even more.
His widened as the guns raised, the screamed died before it escaped his lips the silenced bullet punctuated the story with a pfft.
She dragged his body to the trunk of his car and shoved him in there. She opened the fence and approached the now nervous dogs with caution her gun in her right hand to keep her safe in case they were too far gone.
THe dogs liked her hand and she took off their too tight collars. She left the door open to the car and the ran in the beat up p.o.s. She hoped into the drivers seat and started driving She found the area she was looking for. A forested area with an entrance to a shallow area in the Chananngo River, it would pick up soon enough, she let the dogs out near a camping area that they could ransack. they took off at the smell of food, they'd have the river for water, from there, theywere on their own. it was better then being on a threee foot chain
She drove the car into the river and felt alive as the car lost its wat to the slow constant pace of the River, it was enough to move a car that was moving with it. placed an empty forty once bottle under the back of the accelerator forcing it to stay in motion as long as it could. She kicked up the opposite door and then pushed her own open. Swimming into the murky water and instantly the car started to plunge under and move a bit faster the doors acting like wings for the current to propel. She however didn't have time to watch. She had to make the bank. A short struggle later and she was walking calmly with in pace of the still visible top of the car. Her boots squished as she went. She was almost to the point she needed to make. a second current mixed in with the first and the car was gone. some where down stream the heat-mancer would find his final resting place. She turned west abruptly and made way toward the parallel interstate.
Hidge hiking she would go.
