The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Kenzo and his parents had decided that because of their financial situation, they should take a flight from Matsuyama to Seattle, then take a train to New York. So here he was. But you can only sit in a train and watch the landscape go by for so long before you get bored...
So when the young man and his parents had to switch trains in Chicago, Kenzo decided he wouldn't spend the rest of the trip with his parents, staring at landscape out of the crappy old wooden framed window of the extremely dull train. Rather, he would find someone to entertain him so he wouldn't die of boredom.
When his parents went and found what they would call the seats with the 'best view', Kenzo told them that he would find his own seat this time, and that it would be easier for them to find two, rather than three, seats with a good 'view'. Then he kind of just stood there a bit, as if concentrating on something...
Suddenly, he moved towards the front of the train. The young Japanese man seemed confident in his movements, as if he knew exactly where he was going. It wasn't long before he came upon a set of empty seats across from a girl that looked about his age. He sat down close to the window, but had no intention of looking through it.
"Hey, I'm Kenzo." He introduced himself to the girl across from him. "Where are you headed? I'm going to what you Americans like to call "The Big Apple. Kind of a funny name for a city..." He told her, then eagerly waiting on her response.
Kenzo listened intently, taking in every scrap of information she sent his way. While he could tell to a good degree what someone's powers were, that was about it. He couldn't tell how powerful the mutation was, or even if the person was aware of their own mutation. So he usually liked to find out about people he was drawn to before making decisions about them... Usually. She seemed very distant, not really an open person... Until of course she started looking him in the eyes, or maybe just looking at his eyes as some people did when they saw him.
When she finished her anecdote about New York City being a city for worms, he silently laughed, it wasn't that funny to him, but it was strange, and he found that slightly humerus. There was a short while of awkward silence until Kenzo realized she was actually done talking, at which point he started with a few more questions, or maybe statements,
"Ah, so you should come to New York with me so we can be friends and learn the city together! That would be awesome, because then we both don't have to arrive there with no friends... That wouldn't be fun..." He told her, his face lighting up as if she had already accepted the idea.
"We could even get ice cream when we get there, ooooh... That sounds good. Then I can make some tempura... Oh, but what kind... Hmmmm... Chicken? Shrimp? Oh no I can't decide! This is terrible! You decide!" He stared awkwardly at her for a second before out of the blue he asked it,
"Sooo... Do you ever mess with people when you're camouflaged?"
When she replied with the idea that she didn't know what he was talking about he had to think to himself... I didn't say it clear enough? Maybe she doesn't know about it? Hmmm... It was a while before she continued with as response about his comment. Apparently she thought he was talking about hunting camo... And for some reason she kept looking behind him like there was a great big monster there or something... Kenzo's head slowly turned as he looked at the pillow behind him...
"Was there something behind me? Why do you keep looking back there?" He questioned her with a confused look on his face. He was still trying to figure out what might have been there... Maybe a big spider? Oh I hate spiders... "Wait... There isn't a spider on me is there?" He asked her, looking slightly worried.
It wasn't too long before he regained his composure and started thinking about what she had said again. Well, if she's my age her mutations should be active... Maybe she's a late bloomer? Like a really late bloomer? No, I think she has her powers. Maybe she just doesn't know about them? Well, lets see...He had to wonder about her.
"You didn't know you had mutant powers? You can blend in with your surroundings. You could look like the chair you're sitting on if you wanted to. I've got powers too, see...?" The boy faded from her view for a moment before returning seemingly more obvious than usual. "We're mutants. So yeah. I like to mess with people when they can't see me, it's fun." He explained to the girl, hoping she would understand this time around.
