The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Seizure's former bedroom has been modified into his new office as Director of the Sanctuary. here he shall receive meetings with Sanctuary residents, Order members and anyone else who would find themselves seeking a private word with the Red Bishop. The office is located conveniently next to the Infirmary. The usual solid door has been replaced with one with a frosted glass plate. On the glass the words Garrett Wills, Sanctuary Director have been etched and stenciled.
The inside of the room has the same dimensions it once did, though three large windows with a half circle window above it has been installed, allowing for mostly natural light, as artificial light causes migraines. For this reason, the room is also a neutral gray, though several signed prints by Alex Grey adorn the walls. A large mahogany desk dominates the room, with a leather couch and two leather chairs placed before it. A room sized Oriental rug covers the floor beneath.
The desk has a large touch screen monitor. Seizure also keeps several file cabinets, as staring at printed words seems to reduce the eyestrain that hours in front of a monitor would cause. There are no pictures or little touches. Everything seems relatively sterile, save for the intimate aforementioned prints.

Meld had just returned from another late night of wandering the city. She had been restless lately, searching for something to do to occupy her time, preferably something useful. As much as she could she'd been training, trying to better herself. She had a favorite area in Central Park that was a particularly appealing location, far from the bustle of the city and relatively secluded, especially considering the times she normally devoted to training. There was a certain peace in training outside that she just couldn't find in the training room at Sanctuary, though she had peeked her head in there a few times as well. She had also been devoting a good deal of time to her newest flesh meld. But she felt like she should be doing more. She had the will but no direction as of yet. And so she found herself wandering the streets of New York in the small hours of the morning, hoping to encounter something that would allow her to eliminate the tension she had been feeling as of late. She didn't worry about gangs or muggers or any other sort of violence that was prevalent in all big cities, knowing that she could very easily take care of herself. What mere human could threaten her?
Meld finally returned to her room in Sanctuary a little after 6 am, planning to shower, eat and sleep. Such had been her ritual lately; out in the city all night and then return home for food and rest only to do it all again the next day. It wasn't a bad life but she was craving more. Upon returning to her room this night, however, Meld found a note waiting for her, slipped under the door requesting her presence in Garrett Wills' office. She remembered meeting him briefly after her first major run in with the cops when she had been in the infirmary being healed but hadn't had much contact with him since. Nor did she exactly know what the director did in Sanctuary or if he was a part of The Order or not. She wished now that she had thought to ask Aura more about the other Order members, but it was too late to do so now. Perhaps after this meeting she would be able to do so.
Meld decided that it would probably be best to try and make a good impression, which meant both being clean and presentable and replying to the summons promptly. Although she was far from positive, she assumed that someone was such an official title as 'director' was probably actually an Order member and if he had an official public title that meant he was probably a high ranking Order member which meant that it was all that more important for her to make a good impression. Meld sighed again, wishing that she wasn't forced into so much speculation. She had never liked speculation, preferring the facts to be laid out in front of her, easy to see, interpret and deal with as the situation warranted. Oh well. Sometimes one had to make do with the hand one was dealt.
Meld quickly washed her hands and face and put on a clean set of clothes then proceeded to walk towards the directors office. Taking a deep breath and mentally preparing herself she knocked on the door, awaiting a response.
Seizure looked at the paperwork before him concerning Aris Callin, known as Meld. Her gifts were quite amazing. Her hardware was nothing to overlook either. A titanium arm. Titanium clawed 'feet'. An electronic eye. He wondered if she wouldn't one day be a complete cyborg, with a titanium exoskeleton replacing everything, surrounding a brain and nervous system. It reminded him of the creatures from Robocop. He was glad she was on their side. He was also glad that there was a nervous system attached, should she choose not to be.
A resounding knock came from the door, her mishmash silhouette showing through the frosted glass. Judging from the volume of the knock, Seizure was thankful that she had chosen to use the fleshy arm, as not using it would have required quite a bit of repair, he imagined. Wearing his normal outfit of black suit and red tie, he opened the door before her, his shiny dome peeking around from the side. " Oh, good. Right on time. I do appreciate that."
Seating himself at his desk, he waited for her to make herself comfortable before speaking. He remained stoic, with a monotone look on his face while she sat down. He arranged her files nefore him. Once seated, he started with something easy." So, I see you have been staying here at the Sanctuary. We are glad to have you. How are your friends from the other day doing?" A nice, easy pace. One had to crawl before walking.

Meld opened the door confidently, not allowing any of her doubts or worries to show on her face. In the past her employers had never appreciated those with obvious doubts and while she didn't yet know Garrett well it was a safe bet that he wouldn't appreciate those doubts either. There was a certain persona she had built up for herself, not so different from her own really, just a little more confident, a little more sure, with a few less doubts. She preferred not to show her human side in times like these. There was a time for it, of course, but this was not it.
"I make a point never to be late and it is a pleasure to speak to you again, Garrett" Meld answered with an easy smile. "Thank you for asking about the welfare of my friends. Unfortunately I haven't spoken to either of them since that unfortunate incident. I think, perhaps, that they didn't appreciate some of the things I said when I wasn't quite...fully coherent." They had been things she believed fully and was unapologetic about them, but she also realized that some might consider such views to be somewhat radical and she hadn't exactly been diplomatic in the manner in which she stated them. Had she to do over again she would have went about it in a completely different way but unfortunately her mind had been fuzzy with blood loss and she hadn't exactly thought fully before speaking. It wasn't something that happened often.
"But I don't believe that my companions from the other day were your reason for calling me in here this morning. If I may be so bold as to ask what is?" Sometimes it was better to be direct about such inquiries. Usually it was better to be direct about such inquiries.
She began speaking as if they had been recently interrupted, her manner sure and confident. Garrett folded his hands together and listened, pausing to chuckle when she mentioned being less than coherent." Well, while it is unfortunate that they ran off, perhaps it was for the best. It is always best for weak links to shatter themselves rather than linger for someone else to do the job. As for your state of mind, I can speak from experience that it is all certainly relative. In fact, I could even go as far as to say that I am stronger when not in the 'right' state of mind, whatever that is." He looked at the files before him again. Finding them generally useless, he opened a drawer and pushed them in.
Rolling his neck in a half circle, he set his eyes on the woman before him. " You are quite correct in that your companions are not the essence of this meeting. I am actually trying to get a general idea of the Sanctuary residents and where they are at. Also to see where they might like to be in the near future. " He looked over her shoulder at the door. Closed and no one nearby. " Could you tell me a little about yourself? Not the dry facts, just some colorful items. "

Meld nodded in agreement to Garrett. "I'm not sure that I would call Flynn weak, exactly, but I believe him to be naively optimistic about certain things and self deluded about other things. As for Zahira, she seemed to be mentally broken, perhaps irrevocably so." Meld felt no guilt at giving such opinions of her short term companions; they were true after all and aside from the fact that they were all mutants, she felt no loyalty or bond to either of one them. She wished, however, that Garrett would give her some definitive sign about whether or not her suspicions regarding his likely position within the Order were true. His speech about weak links provided a strong clue that he likely was but nothing was quite like having things laid out directly.
Meld considered what she should say regarding herself before speaking, knowing that she had had a somewhat colorful past. But then, it seemed like many in Sanctuary had colorful pasts and presents for that matter, some of which were far more colorful than hers. She opted for the truth, or at least the short version of the truth. Either she would be accepted, past and all, or she wouldn't be and lies were too messy to keep track of anyway.
"I'm not entirely sure what it is you want to know about me. I intend to remain here for the foreseeable future. You could say I've recently found a calling in life, I want to do something for my people and here seems the best place to be able to do so. I can't tolerate the way mutants are treated by humans and I can't tolerate how so many mutants are taught to loathe themselves and everything they are." The passion she felt was evident in her tone of voice.
"I've done some things in my past that were not exactly law abiding and worked for some people that I would rather not have associated with, but I am not ashamed of the things that I've done. I did what I had to do to survive and I would do them over again if I had to." Her eyes held a hint of challenge, daring Garrett to contradict anything she was saying. "But I'm here now and no longer need to work for those kinds of people. As I said, I've discovered a new purpose for my life beyond that of mere survival."
Seizure was glad to see that Aris was quick to forget about her companions. It only made things easier at the end of the day. Her eyes continued to search him, as if she might actually find the answers to her real questions sitting on his shoulder, playing peek-a-boo. " I think that you will find that loyalty remains constant among your peers." He knew where she was heading, so he decided to just let her have her way. To a point.
He listened to her speech and the zeal that lied in it, fueling the passion therein. It was admirable and considering the fact that she already knew of the Order, there was little reason to continue the charade. " Excellent. Excellent. I suppose you would like to talk business now." The transition from friendly Sanctuary talk to proper Order talk was seamless. " I noticed that you have joined our ranks recently and I would like to welcome you personally. There are some changes underway at the moment and this an exciting time to be involved in our grand work."
Seizure stood from his chair and walked to the windows. He looked out at the hustle and bustle of the city streets. "Your talents and gifts will be cherished among the Order, Meld. However, I hope you don't mind the idea of being watched. Our grand designs are at once weighty and delicate. Discretion is terribly important for us to see our goals come to fruition." He turned and walked slowly toward his desk and the woman on the other side, leaning in and placing his hands on the mahogany top. " You can be discrete, I hope?"

Meld nodded her head at the mention of speaking of business, glad that things were finally going somewhere. It seemed that her suspicions about Garrett were correct and she was glad she had the foresight to act in a befitting manner. "I appreciate your words of welcome and I will do everything in my power to prove myself a worthwhile addition. I look forward to being involved in everything that is happening."
She couldn't help but wonder about his mention of changes. Perhaps they were an attempt to deal with some of the less than positive things she had heard from Bear? If so it would be quite relieving. She would have to keep her eyes and ears open. Meld was careful to keep her expression passive, not allowing any of her thoughts to pass across her features.
"I understand the purpose and the need to watch me. I'm new and you don't yet have a full gauge of who I am and where my loyalties lie. It is understandable that you would want to watch me, at least until I've proven myself." In truth it bothered her slightly that she would be watched, but it wasn't entirely unexpected. She was the low man on the totem pole and likely would be for some time. Unfortunately that status came with certain things attached to it, one of which was a relative lack of trust. It further strengthened her resolve to prove herself definitively. "If discretion is what's needed then I can certainly be discreet," Meld agreed firmly. "Whatever I need to do to prove myself I will do. You can be sure of that."
Her willingness to cooperate and follow instructions was perfection. He doubted that most would be as docile and prepared to serve, but perhaps she was a good omen. Fortunately for her, he wasn't the type to take advantage of willingness, not that any man would want to be on the business end of that gleaming arm of titanium. " All excellent to hear, Meld. Now, I would like to cover the specifics of said discretion. All in all, you will find me extremely fair. I do not make exceptions for anyone, except for the other Council members of course. Considering your attention to detail and professional attitude, I suspect I will only have to cover this once."
He smiled and returned to his seat at the desk, his hands folded before him. " First, concerning the Sanctuary. Outside of the Order, it is to be known only as a mutant only shelter. Its doors shall remain open to those who seek sanctuary, but staying in a room will no longer grant one automatic access to the Order. We need to keep the Sanctuary as a legal and Order free entity in the eyes of the public, leaving the business of the Order to be done in secrecy."
He waited a moment for her response, expecting it to be more of the same yessing. " I believe your talents will work best under Isabel's direction. She is leading the invisible hand of retribution among us and then all of your amazing toys can be put to use properly. How does that sound?"

Meld listened attentively to everything Garrett had to say and committing it to memory. As willing as she was to serve The Order and prove her own worth, she still had a mind of her own and her own moral code. She knew that if it came to it she wouldn't betray her moral values, even if it meant proving herself. But she had a good feeling about this and about what Garrett was telling her. Somehow she didn't think that would be an issue. They were doing good work here and she wanted to be a part of that.
"No one will hear of The Order from my lips without prior discussion," Meld agreed easily. She had thought The Order was supposed to be secret anyway so it was an easy thing to agree to. She had only mentioned its existence to Bear and that was only after he had mentioned the name to her first. Besides, he was her best friend and nothing came between their friendship. Meld frowned slightly, thinking of Bear and hoping that he wouldn't' complicate matters for her. She hoped he'd come around completely to her way of thinking and perhaps even join The Order. Especially if the changes mentioned to her turned out to be positive...
"It would be a pleasure to work under Isabel's discretion. And my toys are quite effective when it comes to retribution." Meld grinned though she was careful not to look too eager. She might not have had Aura's level of blood lust, but there was no denying that there was a certain satisfaction in being able to eliminate those who perpetuated mutant hate and suppression.
All was well. This one was professional, courteous, obedient, and above all loyal. Seizure felt a slight bit of relief that one new recruit was no longer a loose end. Unfortunately, the list he had of meetings to come probably wouldn't go so well. Someone had to do these things, though and it looked like it would be him. " I am glad to hear all of these things, Meld. I believe you should seek out Isabel and find out what she has in store. I am sure that whatever it is will be dripping with gore before long. If I can be of service to you in the future, my door is always open."
He wanted to attempt small talk, but it was a farce. Garrett liked that sort of thing and Garrett was long gone. It was the price that had to be paid in order to bind the demon down for good. Seizure was at a complete loss for words. No more coloring outside of the lines. He realized he was just staring at her, the static buzz in his head drowning out whatever she might be saying. He stood up and walked to the window again. Not really looking at anything, but the movement turned his face away from her, as it probably was ticking by now.
" Thank you for coming. I do hope you have a pleasant day." The voice trickled from his lips in a tinny, robotic fashion. His spine was itching. It was an itch that could never be scratched. Haywire would always remain with him, regardless of its impact on the rest of the world. His hand raised in a dismissive gesture if any more sound came from behind him. His brain seemed to move around in his skull, a large toad sloshing around in its juices. He truly hoped that the next meeting went so well, because if it didn't...Well, best not to think of negative things.

"I will most assuredly seek out Isabel. It was a pleasure meeting you and I hope to have the opportunity to speak to you again soon." Meld extended her hand for a handshake. "And I hope you have a pleasant day also."
Meld walked out of the directors office deep in thought, considering the details of the meeting, running it all over in her head, trying to decipher if she had done anything wrong or if there was anything she should have done differently. Finally, she decided that she had done well. It was the beginning of something new, perhaps the beginning of fulfilling the purpose she so desperately needed to fulfill. Meld smiled to herself as she wanted back to her room and prepared to sleep, feeling unusually optimistic about life and the future.

Jaxon strolled past a slightly older girl, with short dark hair and standing a few inches taller than herself, while on her way to see Garrett. After coming in earlier that day Lisa had told her that he wanted to talk to her around this time. Jaxon was nice to Lisa, but for some reason the woman made her nervous.
In a red pleated skirt that hit just above her knee, a white tank-top, and a pair of black maryjane heels, she looked younger than usual. Still getting used to her new clothes, she had started going with themes in order to help her plan her outfits. Otherwise she had no idea what to wear and got a little overwhelmed. Today was obviously catholic school girl, because she had wanted to wear a pleated skirt and she had no idea how to wear one any other way. She hoped that once she got used to it she would start mixing things a little more originally.
Apparently Garrett had become the man in charge around the Sanctuary rather quickly, making his room into an office from what she had heard. As she Approached his door, she grinned at the door. He had his name on frosted glass on his door. The only thing that might trump it was gold lettering. Jax reminded herself to get him a little office warming gift next time she had a chance.
Knocking gently, Jax peered in. “Garrett? It’s me, Jaxon. Lisa said you wanted to talk to me?” Although Jaxon’s voice wasn’t nervous, she was a bit worried. Her first meeting with the man had been when he was kicking people out of the Sanctuary. Jaxon was only just settling in and getting used to being a mutant and she really didn’t want to go back to the outside world right now, especially with the strange dreams she had been having.
A familiar and pleasant voice reached Seizure's ears. He was glad that it would be Miss Kane this time. It took him a moment for the word Garrett to register at being directed at him. Silly madness. Turning his body from the window, he had a good long look at her. The outfit she had chosen to wear was delicious. He doubted that she had worn the getup just for him, but why not pretend she did anyway?
She seemed to have an air of nerves about her. Who wouldn't around such a man as himself? " I did indeed. Could you close the door? Please, make yourself comfortable." He took a seat in his own chair. For a leather office chair, at the moment it felt quite throne-like. He put on his best smile of serenity and continued. " I just wanted to have a little talk with you about things. As you can see, things are changing, though I assure you it is all for the better."
He was feeling more confident, the flow of the meetings were coming to him easier. Not to mention that he had no reason not to enjoy what was sitting before him. Rich, beautiful, sexy and able to summon demons from Hell. What else could a man about town ask for? " We are making some slight changes and I just wanted to ensure that you were aware of them. I won't keep you long. Unless you just wanted to stick around." Probably unnecessary, but Seizure was enjoying himself thoroughly.
After receiving the okay, Jax entered the office, gently closing the door behind her with a click. He didn’t seem mad at her so hopefully she wasn’t in trouble for the slight damage she had done to the hall outside her room before she caught the creature and reeled it back, and he didn’t seem like he was about to kick her out, so she was able to breathe a sigh of relief.
“Thank you…” With a soft smile, her face turning down to look at the chair as she sat. Crossing her ankles at first, she hesitated… the move was the old her. So she did what she had always been scolded for, and crossed her legs. “You can keep me a while, I don’t mind. I didn’t have anything planned for today.”
Looking back at Garret after settling in the seat, she leaned back in the chair slightly, her hands resting on her thighs. “So, what sort of things do you need me for?” A moment later, realizing the possible double meanings of her words now and a few moments previously, she tilted her head and bit her lip with a smile.
Then she decided to play into her new self. She had been getting some good practice being more bold and brazen, and she decided to put it to use. Her voice dropped in tone and volume, her eyelashes lowering to half-mast flirtatiously. “I can stick around as long as you want me…”
