The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Streak left St. Petersburg early and started heading towards the place that he'd been longing to get to since he'd started this trip. He enjoyed the trip almost as much as he enjoyed the places he had been visiting. He flew high and fast through the upper-most part of the atmosphere. He loved flying this high. Whenever he was up there he could see the Earth in its purity. On and on and on he went. Towards the Land Down Under. Huh, the Land Down Under. Such a funny name. It's not a like it's the last place on earth that could has life. It's not even the farthest place south. Seriously, South America is farther 'Down Under' than Australia. Also, not to mention, very recently mutants have been able to set up residence in Antarctica. They should change the name to...umm...Well I've got nothing. Just forget it. The nickname can stay. Anyways he had arrived over the country that was Australia and was now preparing to make his decent. He needed to blend in with the tourists that were there. It wouldn't be hard. He'd done that may time before. Many times it had worked and many more times it hadn't worked.
He quickly began his decent towards the island country. He loved this part. He always felt like he was a Paratrooper or someone doing a HALO jump, only from a much much higher altitude. His decent was quick. As he fell through the air and clouds he sped up as the gravity increased, pulling him faster and faster towards the ground. The only difference between him and a Paratrooper was that he didn't have a parachute or any of the equipment that they needed. The ground raced up to meet him faster and faster. He was still in control of his free fall so he didn't need to worry about crashing. Streak knew that he needed to land in the ocean because he would never be able to stop in time at the speed his happened to be going. He adjusted the angle he was heading at and pretty soon the water was rushing up to meet him instead of land. About 100 feet from the ground he flared his arms and legs out so that he could slow himself down. It didn't work that well. He was still traveling probably about as fast as a NASCAR would be going on an open stretch. In a matter of seconds he went from doing a giant and painful belly flop into the ocean to doing a graceful pencil dive into the water. He traveled down and down as the momentum of his journey continued to carry him towards the bottom of the ocean. Fairly soon he opened his eyes underwater to find out that it was getting dark. He also couldn't see very many live things pushing themselves through the water as they tried to survive.
His momentum had stopped and he determined that he was probably about 600 feet or so below the water's surface. Once he'd finished sinking he started to slowly swim upwards. As he swam the blades on his body reappeared and he was now more dangerous than any shark that was swimming in the waters off the coast of Australia. It took a couple of minutes for him to break through the waters surface. When he did he took a deep gasping breath. Streak then started to laugh at himself once he was bobbing atop the water. For someone who didn't need to hold his breath it was pretty funny that he took a breath when he reached air. Streak then got his bearings and started swimming to shore. He didn't need to swim far. He probably only needed to swim about half a mile or so back the shore. Once he was close enough he retracted the blades, mainly so people wouldn't think he was a shark and panic, and he'd blow his cover coming out of the water and blending in. His silver skin soon followed his blades as he started to look more like a normal human that was wearing a silver wet suit. He only hoped that no one would notice that there wasn't a zipper in the back like every other we suit in the world. Shawn came out of the water and walked up the beach. There were plenty of people as well as plenty of chairs with unattended towels. As he walked past one Streak made sure no one was looking and he grabbed the nearest towel and began to dry himself off as he walked through the random person. No one thought anything of it so he continued to walk on and left the beach quickly.
As soon as Streak was clear of the beach he dropped the towel and flew above the city once again to find a place to stay. He also needed to find out where in the country he was. After all there were no city names labeled from the sky. After flying for a while he saw a sign and he knew that he was in Newcastle. Not exactly the city he was looking for but it was at least in the right area of the country. Streak was then able to find a tourist map before he headed south towards Sydney. Perhaps he'd find a group of tourists there and be able to relax for a bit.

The flying didn't take long. Once he knew where he was going, he was able to head in that direction fast. It seemed like only minutes befoer Streak landed in an alley in Sydney. He looked around to see if anyone had seen him land but was so far unable to tell if someone had seen him. He didn't really care if they did see him because if they did, Streka doubted that they would want to mess with a silver human that had blades growing out of his body. Shawn walked around almost all day, seemingly going unnoticed by basically everyone that was living in this giant city. He was pretty sure that no one would notice that he was not from around here until he had to order some food or just generally talked to someone.
That night he walked into a local resturant and sat at the bar. It didn't take him long to notice a particularily attractive girl, who was alo sitting at the bar. Not so subtly, he walked up to the seat next to her and sat down. "Is this seat taken?" He asked casually. The woman turned to look at him and answer, "No it isn't." She said. It was obvious that she lived here and he didn't. He knew it and so did she judging by the semi-surprised look on her face. He didn't waste any time and they started talking about anything and everything they could think of. It didn't take long for them to start cracking jokes at one another and sharing orders of drinks with each other. Basically once they had stared talking they both, unspokenly, decided on getting trashed.
They switched up drinks between beers, to mixed drinks, to even some of the more fruiter drinks for her. At the rate they were drinking, their joviality continued, and lasted throught the night. They remained there only about two hours and whey they left she was way worse off then he was. Streak was still drunk but, Elaine, as he found out her name earlier, looked easily about to pass out. When both of them reached outside Streak set her down on a bench and walked to the curb to hail a cab ride to her place. It had been discussed eairlier that they leave together and head back to her place. He didn't have a place, which he didn't mention, but had no reservation about going to her place. Elaine managed to stand and stumble her way over to where Shawn was standing with an arm waving frantically trying to track down a cab. None appeared to want to stop for him. She walked up to him and drapped her arms over his shoulders. He turned around and put both his hands on her waist. She quietly said to him. "We dun need a cab. I can get faster us there." It tooka minute for Streak to undestand what she was talking about. "How?" He questioned. Her reply was simple and even a little confusing. "Just hang on tight."

Everything happened so fast. He hardly knew what was going on until he blinked and looked out over a completely different scene. He looked around "What the hell? Where are we?" He asked. It was obvious that they were in an apartment; however, the better question was who's apartment were they in and where were they. "We're in my apartment?" She answered like it was no big deal. He hadn't told her that he was a mutant and she didn't mention it to him. "Do ya always do this with guys ya meet?" Streak asked. He was still trying to figure out what was going on so asking a lot of questions seemed only natural to get the information out of her. It seemed the travel had sobered her up a bit and she was actually talking with some sense. After she realized what she'd done she became very defensive. Streak had to calm her down one way or another. "Relax." He said holding his hands out in front of himself to show that he didn't want a fight. "I'm a mutant too." That was all the explaining it took for her. Not that she believed him from that one statement but he then proceeded to prove it.
As he'd done many times before he covered his body in silver and the blades came out of their own accord. Once he was completely covered he said, "So. Do ya believe me now? Or do ya need more of a demonstration?" Streak asked a little sarcastically. She shook her head. He pulled the silver back and the blades retracted she started to apologize for over reacting. Shawn shook it off and didn't think anything of it. He might have done the same thing if he was in her position. After a little spat of who was the stronger mutant they agreed that both were equally as strong in their separate types of mutation. His was a more physical mutation and hers was more of a mental mutation. Streak looked at the time. it was after 3 in the morning and he still hadn't been to sleep since two days before. Finally the exhaustion was setting in and he needed to get some sleep. They talked a little longer about their mutations and then they both adjourned to the bed where they fell fast asleep. The next morning he woke up alone. Where'd she go? he wondered. He climbed his travel weary body out of bed and walked out into the living room/kitchen area. She was there making breakfast for them both. Surprisingly enough it was something that he wasn't used to seeing. Since he'd been traveling he'd gotten so used to actually looking for his own food that it actually seemed a little odd to him. He got used to it very quickly though and he was glad that he didn't have to go looking for breakfast. Once they'd eaten, they both left the building and while she went to work he went out to enjoy the touristy side of Sydney.
From walking to the opera building to swimming on the beach, to even taking a whale watching tour. He filled his day with those things and that meant that he would be able to do more things the rest of the time he was in the city. Although he had spent a lot of time in the public eye he was able to get some time alone where he could think about what he was going to do the rest of the day while he waited for Elaine to get off work. There were even time when he'd lie in waiting in an alley way as people passed him by. Once he had spent time thinking he decided to go a little place more scenic than a dank and stinky alleyway. He spent the rest of the day walking around the giant infamous city. When it was 5 o'clock he waited outside Elaine's workplace for her to come out. When he saw her he made himself obvious by walking up to her and giving her a hug. He had a feeling he knew what she was going to do and once again he was standing in her apartment. "I have an important meeting to go to tonight. You're welcome to join me if you want." She offered. She wouldn't tell him what it was about but just continued to say that it was important. When the time came for the meeting they took a cab there. Apparently she didn't like teleporting everywhere. It wore her out, as she put it. When they arrived Streak could tell that it was already full of other people. They had arrived early and it seemed like it was standing room only already and there were more coming in every moment. "What's goin' on? What is this place?" Streak asked her for what seemed like the tenth time since they had arrived at this run down building. People were conversing and, as Streak quickly observed, they were showing off their mutant abilities to each other before the meeting started.

Streak quickly found out that it was a meeting for any mutant in the city of Sydney. Shawn held on to Elaine's hand as she led him through the crowds and to a couple of available seats. They continue to chat until they were approached by a few of the other mutants. "Hey Elaine, who's your friend?" It was obvious that Streak and her were together as they were sitting there still holding hands. She looked up and began the introductions. "Shawn this is David, Michael, and Sarah. Lads this is Shawn." Shawn waved and shook their hands in turn as Elaine introduced them to him. The three of them seemed very suspicious of why Shawn was there and he was sure that they were more interested in keeping secrecy than meeting someone new. It was David that spoke up first. "He shouldn't be here. We can't trust him. What do you know about him that makes him trustworthy?" This question, aside from being said loudly, seemed to gather the attention of everyone in the crowd. Streak wasn't one to shy away from such indignation and rudeness as David was showing him. Apparently Elaine wasn't going to stand for this either. She quickly apologized for his rudeness by saying, "I'm sorry he's not usually this rude." Streak quickly responded, "Don't worry about it. I'll handle this." With Elaine still standing defiantly by his side he then turned to David, and with everyone listening he said, "What makes you say that I am not trustworthy enough to be here in this meeting? I don't even know why I'm here. I would think ya would be nicer to someone that could help yall get what yer all after. Whatever that is. Let me ask ya something. Are ya always this rude to mutants who ya feel threatened by?" His question left a smug grin on his face. Of course David didn't take to kindly to this comeback.
"Threatened?" David echoed. "I'm not threatened by anyone. Everyone here knows I'm the strongest person here. I have proved myself that I belong here. And you've done what besides meet up with her and get her to trust you that you're a mutant. No one knows ya and we've all demonstrated ourselves time and time again. Now what have you done?" The crowd burst into applause at his statement. It was apparent from their reaction that he was probably telling the truth. Everyone started to look towards Streak for a reply. Elaine held tightly on to his arm and hand and he was happy to give them a reply. "What have I done? Hmm..." Streak mockingly thought rubbing his chin with his fingers. "Well, where should I start? How about I start with my experience?" Some people applauded and other just murmured as he prolonged giving a response. Streak then started to explain about the camps and his capture, treatment, and escape. He then told them of his involvement in the X-Men his trip around the world. Streak started to pace around the room and left Elaine standing there in awe of his unabashed history. Even she hadn't learnt this about him yet and in the matter of just minutes she, along about a hundred other mutants, had learned almost everything there was to know about Silver Streak. "So now that yall know almost everything about me, how 'bout you tell me. Am I trustworthy enough to be here. Will yall let me stay and participate in the meeting?" He addressed everyone in the crowd. There was a slight pause as it seemed like everyone was taking a moment to let the information that he'd just divulged sink in before they all erupted in thunderous applause for him. Just then Elaine ran up to him, hugged him and kissed him. David wasn't happy with what Streak had just said.
Once the applause had died down, David came up to where Streak was standing. "Very impressive story Shawn." David said obviously unimpressed. "We now know your life story. And it seems like you've led an interesting life. I commend you for that. But what you've failed to tell us is what you are capable of. For all we know you could have made that up and fed us a great story to try and gain our trust. But how about a demonstration and show us that it wasn't all just a big lie." Streak knew exactly what David was doing. He was coaxing Shawn into something that he couldn't back away from and if he tried he'd probably be attacked. That's when Elaine stepped up and spoke to David loud enough for everyone to hear. "He's not making this up. I've seen what he can do and he's more powerful than you could even hope to be David." She poked him in the chest when she said that and an audible 'Oooohhh' swept through the crowd. David still wasn't backing down from this. Apparently just because she brought him here her word was worth nothing. Everyone was motionless waiting to see what was going to happen between the two men. If someone walked in at that moment it would look like they were about to get into a fight about a girl or some other stupid reason. Some of David's closer friends walked up and stood behind David. David was still unconvinced, "Show us." was all he said to Streak. After he said that a chant of 'Show us' went up throughout the crowd, starting with David's backup and filtering all the way through the crowd and becoming a loud roar.

Streak raised up his hands and they stopped almost instantly. He left his hands raised in the air and slowly started to cover them in silver. People's mouths started to open as well as their eyes. He knew that he was getting through to them. Once his arms were covered in silver he moved it up to cover his head and down to cover his legs. Once he was done the blades emerged and he was completely ready. The entire room was silent. He retracted the blades in his back and on his left arm, as Elaine returned to his side and placed her arm around his back. Streak then placed his arm around her shoulders and said to David, "Is this good enough for ya? Do ya believe me now or do ya still think I'm feeding yall lies?" David was enraged. He'd never thought he'd be proved wrong and that the crowd wouldn't support him. Since Streak already had his powers active he was chilled and enjoying the thought of proving this guy wrong. Was it a bad thing that he liked proving this guy wrong after he'd been called out in front of all these other mutants? I wouldn't say so. But who was to be the judge of what was right or wrong whenever you were right and made someone else feel like an idiot for the way they acted.
Just when Streak thought it was over David rushed him. "No! No one makes me look like a fool. I will beat you and everyone will know that I am the best mutant around." His statement was warning enough. Streak was ready for this to turn into a fight. He didn't want to fight. He just wanted to enjoy the meeting and then go back to Elaine's place. David rushed at him. The punch came at Streak's face and he knew exactly what was going to happen before he even moved. All Streak did was evade the punch, grab David in a headlock and throw a simple knee in Davids stomach. That took quite the fight out of him. It's hard to continue fighting when you can't breathe. "Chill dude. You started this and I'm just answering yer questions." David was losing this battle fast and Streak decided to let him go before he passed out. Once Streak let go David slowly stood up and backed up. He took a few deep breaths, trying to get the air back in his lungs. "Alright fine. You've proved me wrong and you've proved you're quicker than me." He held out his hand and naturally Streak was a little suspicious after he'd just been attacked. Very wearily he grasped Davids hand and shook it. It then turned into a strength match and who had the stronger hand. They were both strong and both had about the same hand size. Finally they broke the hand shake and David did another look of Streak up and down sizing him up. Things might have gone bad if whoever was in charge of the meeting hadn't decided to make his appearance just then.
"Now. Now David. He's answered all your questions and then some so why don't we just sit down and we can have a nice meeting." The new man said to him. David seemed to take his comment with a great sense of respect. That got Streak to wondering what made this man so special to David that he would listen to him and not really listen to anyone else. David gave a short nod to the man and went to sit down. That seemed to be the cue for everyone else as well seeing as they all started to take their seats. Elaine held on to Streak's hand as she led them back to their seat. As they walked back every eye was one him as he pulled the silver back into his body and started to look human again. Some of the mutants still had a star struck look on their faces as Streak passed by, but once he was out of their view they turned their attention to the older man standing up on the stage. And now the meeting was to begin. The man started by introducing himself to the crowd. "Hello everyone. I am Blake Johnston. I called this meeting to be sure that we were all clear about what our job would be in the coming assault. I'm glad so many of you showed up on such short notice, and I'm glad that you were able to bring a friend tonight Elaine. He seems like he'd be very useful for any job here." Blake made the motion of tipping his hat to Streak before he continued the meeting. He continued relaying jobs that people had originally signed up for. They all still seemed to be very vague about what the job was they had signed up for and Streak was going to have to find out what was going on before he signed up for anything that they were talking about. As hard as he listened he was looking for any detail that might slip from Blake about what was going on. Unfortunately he was very good at keeping things quiet. He probably had a speech written out and memorized before he came out to deliver it to everyone there. Of course it made sense since they had to be sure that they were all on the same page and that there wasn't a human there spying on the meeting. Streak had proved himself to everyone but that didn't mean that he was the only one there that was new to these meetings. And some might just very well have been someone that David should have been looking for instead of picking out Streak.

The two left the meeting shortly afterwards. Still confused about what was going on he pressed Elaine for information. "I sat through that entire meeting and I still don't have a clue as to what is going on. Aside from showing off a little, I didn't understand anything that was going on there." Yes he was complaining to her. There was no reason for him to go to that meeting if he didn't learn about what was going on. "Alright I'll tell ya. But once were back at my place." Streak agreed that this was probably the best idea. Since nothing was discussed in the open of even the meeting he didn't expect her to start spilling the beans as they rode back to her apartment in a cab. He remained quiet and thoughtful the rest of the ride back. As the cab pulled up to their stop he was practically jumping for answers. Not knowing really bothered him about this. It probably wouldn't have bothered him so much if it wasn't for the way the entire crowd acted when they demanded he prove to them that he was a mutant. Elaine opened the door and Streak quickly ushered her inside. He closed the door just as quickly as he rushed her in. "Now that were back at your place why don't ya tell me what that meeting was all about." He was getting impatient. Once she realized that there was no getting out of this she began to explain what was going on.
It was interesting. He hadn't expected the mutants of this country to basically declare war on humans. Australia seemed to be getting more and more politically confused than even the U.S. was at the moment. "The government has done a good job of keeping things quiet between the government and the mutants that are representing us. They've kept most of the information away from the presses prying pens and paper. The one that was running the meeting is one of them that is trying to negotiate with the government. Without going into to much detail, there's a revolution that's going to be starting very soon and as you saw, everyone there has a specific job and is prepared to do whatever they can to get the results that we want." Streak thought about that for a moment. It was interesting. "Wait. What do ya mean by 'prepared to do whatever they can'. Didn't ya just say that they were negotiating with the government?" Streak asked. He was becoming concerned and things that she was telling him weren't adding up. She started looking worried because he'd just called her out on the lie. She paused for a moment to make sure that she could get her story straight. "Well, our negotiations aren't going very well and we aren't going to stand by while they treat us like idiots. We're going to get what we want no matter how we have to get it. And that's where the meetings and all the different mutations come into play." Now Streak understood what was going on.
He was about to be in the middle of a civil war here. Why'd he have to come here at this time and find out about this. It was almost like he'd been set up since the moment he'd met her. Like she'd been looking for more mutants to join their cause and now that she'd found Streak all she had to do was convince him to help them with their inevitable fight. Why she'd picked him was beyond his knowledge. All he could think of was that he didn't want to get involved in their battle. He'd been set up. This didn't happen often and when it did he was usually able to get himself out of it. Unfortunately he wasn't sure how he'd be able to get himself out of this one. Fights were one thing but wars were something completely different and he had not intention of joining one. Especially if he wasn't a citizen of this country. There was something in the back of his mind that was saying Why risk your life for some cause that you'll never see the benefits from? There was also another part of his brain that was saying, If you don't help them then what's going to stop this from coming to America and creating another world war with humans vs mutants show down. There's still a short fuse in certain areas of the world and I'll probably be a part of it now or later. All you have to do is figure out what side your on before you want to fight. "Don't be mad at me. It was part of my job to try and find more mutants that we could get to help us whenever the fight comes. And the fight will come. We just don't know when negotiations are going to break so far down that we resort to fighting. Personally I don't want it to get so far that we have no choice but to fight. I would prefer it if they would listen to us and give us what we wanted. Everything would be more peaceful." Elaine said interrupting his thoughts. "What is it that yall are trying to get accomplished here?" Streak asked her. She obviously knew more than what she was letting on and he was only concerned with getting out all the information so that he could make an informative decision.
"I don't know everything but I think that the end result is to control the government and they wont let us run for office or anything. Which means that we'll have no choice but to fight and take what we want by force." She told him sounding a little unconvinced herself. "Nothing will be solved this way. If yall want to control the government then you need to do it in a covert way. Not by fighting. Taking the government by force will only set up anarchy in this nation and cause recourse actions from the humans if they lose, which they probably will. Humans just can't create anything that is strong enough to take out every mutant and give them the upper hand. They will lose if yall take this to a war. Yer government will never allow it either. They will do everything in their power to ensure that yall lose. Which'll probably include hiring mercenaries from other countries and I'm sure they'll have mutants on their side too. That'll make everything harder for yall to win. Yall can't just declare anarchy and war on an established government. That's when governments go from being democratic to tyrannical. Things just don't work that well like that." Streak said to her. There were thousands of things that he wanted to say right now to her. He saw so many things wrong with this process that these mutants were trying to go through. There had to be something else that they could do instead of declaring anarchy on this government. He just didn't know what it was yet.
