The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Syn? That's your given name? If it is, that's pretty cool." said Fiona with a friendly gaze. Moving back a few steps, she gestured towards her messy but open room. "Please, have a seat. My name is Fiona. And I have no qualms in skipping the formalities, I assure you." Moving to the bed, she sat down on it as she laid a hand over the comforter beneath her. It was soft, but not near as soft as what she was used to. It was a good thing she would set to having her things ordered in from Spain as soon as possible.
Looking in Syn's direction, she cleared her throat. "So, if you're higher up in chain..." Fiona paused before continuing her question. After having met Tricity, she knew that looks could always be decieving, especially when it came to assertive, young women.
"Yes, it's my given name and thank you very much." She wasn't lying when she replied to Fiona. Syn had given herself her own name, and that's all anyone ever needed to know about the girl. Truth be told Syn enjoyed just going by her one name. She found it to be provocative as well as fearful.
Fiona invited Syn to have a seat and then she sat on the bed. Syn sat on the bed as well. "You have a very pretty name yourself. I would also be so bold as to say that you are a very beautiful woman." Syn looked Fiona over again. A sight she doubted that she would ever get tired of seeing.
"No, I'm not exactly the owner. He's off doing his own thing, but I have been placed in charge. Though that's slightly changed recently as well. We've done a little restructuring but through it all I'm still the boss lady." Syn smiled genuinely. It had been a long time since she had smiled for the sole purpose of enjoyment. Most times if she was smiling it was when she was staring down an enemy. There was something about Fiona that attracted Syn besides her obvious looks.
Fiona was the type of woman that was told she was beautiful often, however, when Syn said it, she felt a slight shiver she hadn't felt in years. "Thank you, I appreciate the compliment. Particularly as it's coming from someone that is most definitely beautiful herself." With a slight flush, she felt elated to know that she truly meant her compliment, and it wasn't just a reflex action she felt compelled to say in return.
"Boss lady. That seems like it's a fitting title. I honestly have to say, you had me reaching for identification for a second there--you're very commanding." Shifting her seat to better face her company, she moved to her next question. "I know it's impolite, but can I possibly ask your age? You look terrifically young," asked Fiona.
"You are very welcome, and thank you as well." There was a definite connection forming. Syn noted Fiona's cheeks blushing again. In turn a smile appeared on Syn's face. She was enjoying this immensely.
Another smile and a slight head shake was her response to being called Boss lady. When Fiona went on to comment on Syn's pressence the girl felt her pride swell. She knew she was in command but when others noticed it then she felt even stronger. "You can just call me Syn and yeah I guess you could say that I can be pretty persuasive as well as difficult. You yourself seem to have a self-assured aura about you." Syn positioned herself to better face Fiona just as the owman had done just moments prior. Syn smiled once more. "I'm 19 and I would guess we are fairly close in age."
"Nineteen? And in control of a sanctuary of mutants. That's really quite impressive, Syn." said Fiona, the name Syn rolling off her tongue like melting butter off a skillet. Fiona couldn't help but stare into Syn's green eyes, smooth skin, and full lips and wonder why it was exactly that she felt this way. It felt almost as though she was compelled to pay special attention to her; almost like a moon revolves around its planet. "I'm twenty-two, recently turned." Clearing her throat once again, she turned the music up a miniscule amount louder, the electronic beats pleasant to her ears.
"So if you're the boss lady, then I'm guessing you're well acquainted with the large red guy named Mercury and his brothers? He was the one who brought me here, under the intention of helping me to find my parents. He wouldn't have told you about that, would he?"
The compliments were going back and forth. Syn found herself feeling a slight blush as Fiona complimented on the girl's position/title. "Thank you. It hasn't been easy." There seemed to be some sort of amazing connection forming. Whether or not Fiona could feel it Syn had no idea. "Happy belated Birthday to you then. Is there anything you wanted for your birthday, but didn't get?"
While waiting for a response to her last question Syn decided to reply to the last one Fiona posed. "Yes, I'm very familiar with Mercury and his brothers. You might say they're all family to me. More specifically Abyss is my brother. The clones are more like extended family, and I have to say that I'm very greatful Mercury brought you here."
Fiona laughed and thanked her for the late birthday. "Well, I can't honestly say I want anything more than finding my family. That's all," said a more melancholy Fiona. Thinking of her family always seemed to get her spirits back down no matter how great of a situation she was in. Luckily, she managed to get a hold on herself before she let off her depression into the air--the last thing she needed was to have her newest aquaintance feeling saddened around her.
She was soon snapped out of it when Syn made her next comment. "Wait--they're clones? Clones of someone named Abyss, whom in turn is your brother?" Fiona was thoroughly confused. If that was the case, then this Abyss character had to be very multi-faceted. And, not to mention, brightly red. She wondered if Syn had some sort of physical mutation as well, one that she could hide.
Fiona was polite about Syn's question regarding a birthday present. Then the other woman's disposition became somewhat distant. "You don't seem to be too keen on the thought of your family. Do they dispise that you are better than them?" Syn moved closer and placed her hand on Fiona's and gave a slight squeeze. "Around here we treat each other like family. In most cases we are the only family each other has."
On the topic of family Fiona sparked up after Syn told her about the clones. "Yes, they are all clones of my brother who looks just like them. Though each one has a different personality." Syn figured she would leave it to her brother to introduce the clones.
Fiona felt a smile come to her face which was almost tight with emotion. She didn't quite agree about being better than her family, but she sure as hell knew that she wouldn't just ditch them without a single word over something as benign as being a mutant. Looking into Syn's eyes, she felt pleased to feel a small warm rush to her face and the back of her neck as the other woman grabbed her hand. "Well, they've pretty much deserted me. I don't know the full story, but it seems as though ever since I told them that I was a mutant, they haven't wanted anything to do with me. So because of that Mercury said he would help me find them. They happen to be coming to the States next week."
More than anything, Fiona needed family. And when Syn said that they would be her family, she felt a lump subside in her throat and her high tensions drop. An almost high sensation came to her, and this she let waft out in her surroundings. "So, does Abyss live here too?"
The accepting response from Fiona to Syn's hand was a good sign. Syn was finding herself becoming more and more interested in the red head. Fiona had beauty on her side as well as a softness that Syn found hidden beneath the blushes of the other woman. There was a little bit of confusion though. "If I may ask, why are you seeking your family out if they have shut you out of their lives? Why not just live your life?"
Very shortly after the comment of those within Sanctuary being family Syn saw a pleasing reaction from Fiona. The other woman didn't seem so tense. Syn, herself, began feeling a sensation close to ecstasy. Perhaps it was just her own emotions surfacing, but Syn wanted to act on the feeling. She was briefly side tracked by Fiona's inquiry.
Syn moved closer to Fiona even while she answered. "Yes, Abyss lives here." Her replied finished Syn leaned forward and kissed Fiona on the lips. Still holding hands Syn gave another squeeze as her soft lips touched Fiona's.
Fiona tilted her head at Syn's question--it certainly was a thought provoking inquiry. However, she knew exactly why she bothered with her search. Her family was her life. Without them, she'd be nowhere, and she had to acknowledge that. And, there had to be a concrete reason why her family would stop talking to her out of the blue. After all, parents didn't just abandon their children for no reason at all... Or at least, she hoped. "Well... I have my reasons. I know that there has to be a greater truth to all of this. I don't think my parents would be the type of people to abandon me over being a mutant."
Dazed in her reverie, she barely noticed what Syn said about her brother before she was engulfed in several different emotions, all triggered by Syn's unexpected kiss. She hadn't felt this way in more than a year, and it was all spilling out. Happiness, passion, anxiety, shock, and finally, unbridled sexuality rushed out of her like a tidal wave as she moved her free hand up towards Syn's hair. With a sigh, she laced her fingers in the other woman's, moving so close their chests touched.
Feeling Fiona's body close to Syn's own as well as the other womans fingers in her hair; Syn felt an overjoyous rush of more pleasant emotions. It was so strong that Syn released her own emotions into the room. Her pheremones were loaded with feelings of happiness and passion. Even though Syn heard Fiona's response as to why the woman sought her family there was no answer back. The only response was to Fiona's actions as Syn took her free hand and laced it through Fiona's beautiful red locks.
With all the good feelings flooding the room Syn gently pushed herself against Fiona until she was causing the woman to lay back with Syn laying on top. The girl's heart was pounding hard in her chest. Her kiss was more passionate, she continued to grasp Fiona's hand and run fingers through the other woman's hair. These feelings were so powerful and Syn had never felt them so strongly before.
Before Fiona knew it, she was on her back with her new friend Syn draped over her like an expensive fur. Things were heating up, and Fiona could feel the pulsating waves of emotions emanating from her as her lips moved in motion to the beat of the industrial music that flowed from her iPod port. Moving a hand to Syn's back, Fiona's nails trailed a little roughly down her spine, her kiss slightly more passionate.
Fiona hadn't noticed Syn's pheremones leak into the air, but all of a sudden she felt feelings of happiness and passion that weren't hers. With a slight raise of an eyebrow, she nibbled on Syn's lower lip before pulling back, leaving her face only an inch away from the other woman's.
"So, what's your mutation? It has to be pretty powerful, for the leader of the Sanctuary," asked Fiona, breathlessly.
The rush of feeling so passionate towards someone made Syn feel more alive than she had felt in a very long time. Things were definitely getting heated and Syn's breathing was getting heavier. Fiona's lucious lips were so tender and soft against Syn's own. When the red haired woman ran her nails down Syn's spine the girl arched her back, and in doing so pressed herself closer to Fiona.
Somehow Fiona managed to break away from the kissing, but still kept her face very close to Syn's. She enquired about Syn's mutation and the woman got the usual answer Syn gave everyone with a little added bonus. "I can be very persuasive. Other than that I'm complicated, but since we're on the topic." Syn lowers down to kiss Fiona again for a moment before pulling away again. "What's your wonderful power my dear?"
Fiona raised a well kept eyebrow at Syn as her lips moved into a playful smirk. "Very persuasive? How so?" Moving to sit up, it all hit her that here she was, locking lips with a virtual stranger. Smiling more broadly, she looked at Syn as she answered carefully.
"Well... I too am persuasive. I can sway the emotions of others, and charm them into a hopeless romantic state. However, I can assure you, I haven't done that to you. At least, I didn't think I did."
Fiona felt a saddened rush all of a sudden, wondering how Syn would react. Just as quickly as it happened however, Fiona remembered her small interlude with Calley. 'Get a grip!' she thought, and quickly flooded herself with happy emotions, hoping to exude those instead of the depressing spike she had just felt. It was a weird combination, having depressing thoughts and happy emotions, but it was something Fiona was used to. Moving to an almost neutral position, she tilted her head slightly.
"I hope you don't feel like I've taken advantage of you. I honestly didn't try to sway you or anything."
