The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Plopping down in the middle of the couch the immense individual stressed the sofa considerably under his weight, but still it had stayed strong and supported his mass. The super strength mutant was at present wearing a plain white t-shirt and some grey sweat pants. His dreadlocks encased within his all black rasta hat while his feet were cozy in a pair of black thong sandals. Marley had just made his way from the kitchen and was snacking from large bowl full of lucky charms. As he took a scoop from the bowl he munched down on the heart, stars, and horseshoes. Looking about his vicinity he had searched for the remote, but it was nowhere close.
Looking again, except this time around the whole living room his eyes spotted it across the area in a lazyboy chair, ’I wish I could moo-ve tings wit meh mind.’ He had thought not even realizing that mutants could do that. Moving lethargically he had made his way over to the remote taking it and then had returned back to his previous spot.
”Now whah is dare to watch?” The mutant had said thinking out loud. It was Saturday afternoon and he had no idea what American stations showed on Saturday mornings. Flipping through the channels Marley wasn’t going to stop until something had peaked his own personal interest.
”Bore-ing, bore-ing, bore-ing, uhhhh………bore-ing. Hmmm?” Marley had finally stopped on the news which was telecasting about a rampaging mutant or so the voice from the T.V. had claimed.
Now that Marley had thought about it he was completely oblivious to other mutant’s powers. As a matter of fact he was still oblivious to his own really.
Agitated as she always was Mir walked the halls of the school pacing as if she was a beast in a cage the walls seem to be closing in on her this was the first week after she agree to start getting help for her mood swings and physical training to take the edge off. Muscles aching and skin burning she walked her pace quickening until she met the living room. Bursting in unannounced and not bearing a hint of subtlety she looked around hoping no one was around. And to her surprise there was some one around he sat on the coach just flipping through channels. Though he was the largest man she had seen in a while, which should have made him intimidating but he seemed rather goofy eating his lucky charms on a Saturday afternoon. Mostly feeling a slight amount of nervous curiosity she pulled her pink tank top down before stepping forward to one of the chairs facing the television. More tense than she likely should have been, Mir with a timid aura took her seat and looked at the news report before she looked to her side toward the tall and powerful looking man in the middle of the couch not to far from her.
Running her hands through her now grey-salt and pepper colored hair Mir tried to think of a way to say some thing with out really saying any thing to substantial. She like to meet new people but her particular curse made it hard to have a normal conversation. In days past she would have wasted no time and proudly strutted over like she was the hottest thing alive. The fact that she could have a wagging tail if she even got a tid bit excited made her far more hesitant about meeting new people especially boys. Trying not to look to weird she looked back to the tv, If she did not say some thing soon she thought to herself that she would have to get up and walk away that or risk looking like a weirdo. Turning back the couch she tried to muster up some thing slightly interesting to say with all of her might but nothing came to her mind. Turning back to the tv she exhailed rather loud before she muster the strength and the courage to get out a small stupid sentence that was well a bit pathetic in terms of a conversation."...So You like Cereal...? " After saying those few words she realised that she did not even say hello or any thing like that and so she might have came across as awkward or slightly weird. Displeased with herself she turned herself back to the television before promptly dieing of embarrassment. With her head rested upon her hands she thought that being normal was a luxury she would never have.
Marley was curious who and what other types of mutants had stayed at the mansion, so far all he knew was Sam and the elemental mutant had the ability to control/manipulate the cold. If that is what he particularly does, Marley really couldn’t remember at the moment that well. So if that was the case then there could possibly be a person who does the same thing with fire or water or whatever other element that can potentially be controlled. The gargantuan felt as he had got short changed with the mutant abilities that were being dished out. All he could do was smash and bash nothing less or nothing more.
Once again starting to flick through the channels his concentration was interrupted when a girl had exploded in the room. At first Marley had glanced at her out the corner of his eye not really minding the new company. Then his focus had become full when she sat down. He studied her a bit briefly, as she had a mesh of dark and black hair kind of wild in style. A beautiful face and at the time he could tell she was being somewhat apprehensive. Smirking a bit, he had wondered if she was intimidated. No she couldn’t be. Just then he had heard Sam’s voice in his head, ’just be careful, some of the girls here are more dangerous than they look.’
Looking up he was trapped in his thoughts and wondered if she was one of those girls Sam was referring to, hopefully not though. Taking in another spoon full of lucky charms and munching on the marsh mellow flavors, Marley was about to speak until she had something.
>>"...So You like Cereal...? " she had asked.
Marley then looked at her and chuckled a bit, ”Yah, I love meh sum Cer-e-ahl. Doe dey happen not tah have meh fave-vor-et. Soh whah brings yah too dah livin room? Yah seem up-set? Marely said with some concern in his voice.
Delighted by the way he seemed to word things Mir allowed a brief smile to spread across her lips which slowly pushed her cheeks up and revealed her tiny but still noticeable dimples. She was not upset sadly this was her normal mood she was never allowed to be to angry and it was embarrassing to be to happy so she kept a calm boring mid-leveled placid aura about her. To herself she wondered if it was truly that easy to read her this was not what she wanted and so she figured it would be okay to let loose a little bit. To be to easy to read was bad especially when she had not even said very much yet. Sitting up and on to her knees she turned her body to his and show him a more alert and less timid and fragile looking Miracle. Exhuming confidence on the outside was always a good way to keep others away from getting to the meat of your issues."Well...you know I just simply figured that t might be good to come here and get some TV in before I go off to do some thing that I will most likely...ether hate or regret a bit later," she said trying to make the last bit sound more like a joke with a light chuckle at the end of her statement.
Keeping the conversation away from her slight apprehensive tone Mir knew what she would say next. She would simply say it was an early morning and leave it at that."...You wont believe when I got up...swear it was ridiculous so...like yeah I am fine. But Yeah so what cereal do you like cause I think Fruit Loops are the best." She let this little mouth full slip out of her lips and she sounded almost like she was just your average kid. Being as normal as possible was her goal and it made her feel good when she accomplished it. As she finished Speaking she leaned forward more and pressed her self against the arm of the chair she was sitting on. His genuine concern was refreshing to say the least but she wanted to avoid the pity party that came from just talking about every ones power sob stories. She especially hated to tell her own story it was just to long to sappy and not worth the time it took to tell. With a Quick scratch behind her ear she was ready and willing to hear more about her new tall acquaintance. No matter how hard she tried she could not eliminate all of her canine tendencies.
Marley took another spoon full of lucky charms and listen to his new association wondering what her name was and was ashamed that he didn’t tell her his given name. After she had finished speaking he had spoke up, ”Soh whah’s ya name? Mine is Marley.” The Jamaican smiled and chuckled a bit before speaking again, ”I’m from dee islands.” Marley had said. She most likely didn’t know what islands he was talking about since that his way of saying he was from Jamaica, ”Dats Jamaica by dah way.”
Continuing on Marley found his self getting comfortable and said,”My fave-vor-et cer-e-ahl is Reeses Puffs. I love pee-nut butah.” The massive mutant finished with a smirk.
”Soh could yah tell meh mor bout dah mansion an how are dah pee-pull ear?” he asked curiously.
Marley he said his name was...it kinda fit him she thought to herself. listening to him she lots track of her thoughts. Which had slipped into to a place she often tried to avoid due to slight complications."...Oh my name is Miracle...um its good to meet you," It had become so hard to just talk these days. When he said that he was from the islands she had a pretty good idea what he meant but he went about telling her he was from Jamaica any way. She had a feeling he was not from around here already but it was nice to have him comfort it rather then he just assume."I kinda figured that you might be from there you have a bit of an accent but 's kinda cute," she said before thinking about his question about the school. She had been around the school fr a while now but the people here were still a mystery to her. She did not interact with man of them and those she did was mostly out of necessity.
Placing her hands under her chin and resting her elbows on her arm of the chair on she tried to spin this a way that would make it seem like she knew what she was talking about. The one person she had met that she liked was David. she had met him way either and he was rather nice."The people here are like most people out n the world you find some that you like and, some people that are good while others are annoying...its a rather good mix I think I personally don't take to much time getting to know that many people," she uttered before going back to his comment about his favorite cereal."The peanut butter ones are so not beating the Cinnamon Toast Crunch ones those are my favorites," she said taking her hands from her chin and giggling a bit.
’Miracle?’ Marley had echoed to his self in his head.
”Miracle, now dat tis differ-ent. I nehvah heard sumone wit dah name. It mus mean yah pair-ents thought yah tah beh prit-the special.” Marley smirked as her name seemed like her parents had put thought into her given name. As for Marley well he was named after a reggae singer which had its moments, but he wished sometimes for a different name. Marley snickered a little when she said his accent was kind of cute, ”Real-lay yah tink so? Most say its jus makes it har-dur tah undahstand meh, but tank yah.” Marley said nodding his head.
Putting the bowl up to his face Marley began to slurp down the milk. Once he finished he wiped his mouth and set the bowl on the table before him. Then miracle began to speak again,
>> ."The people here are like most people out n the world you find some that you like and, some people that are good while others are annoying...its a rather good mix I think I personally don't take to much time getting to know that many people," she uttered.
Marley had a confused look on his face, ”But If yah don’t get tah kno dah people roun ear yah nehvah gonnah have fun. Trus meh.” The mutant had stated with a big grin on his face and then he started to converse some more, ”Yah meh beh yah right……” Marley had said to the cereal statement before switching the topic of interest, ”Soh if yah don’t mind meh askin whah’s yah moo-ant gift?” For some this was a touchy subject so Marley had attempted to ask in the most polite way fashionable.
Seeing how there was a story behind her name Mir figured it made good conversation for some one who had not heard the heard the story before. She was special in her parents eyes...it was a miracle she was born. Her mother and father should not have come together but strangely enough they did and she was born." My parents though they did not stay together long did think my birth was special seeing how they were going to have no more children," she said quickly throwing that in after his first statement. His accent was so slightly refreshing she had heard the New Yorker accent most of her life and it annoyed er some days. And so speaking with him was some thing new she could just here that he was not born and raise in the heart of Brooklyn like every one else she knew."You accent is fine I really do kinda like it," she added before her took the bowl up to his face.
Slurping down what was left in the bowl was something she had not seen in years. She had not done that since she was a kida and watched the Saturday morning shows intently and with great anticipation. she almost chulked a bit as she spoke about the people she had met around the area. After she finished he cam in with a statement that made her cringe a bit. She hated to get to know new people. When she had to explain why some days she was as nice as she could be then the next day ready to kill for the for simply being looked at funny, she was not happy. Her comment on the cereal was met with a slightly lacking answer there was some thing on his mind and it was the elephant in the room mutants could not have a conversation with out bring up their curses.
Thinking up a good way to spin her curse so it would not sound so bad, miracle sat back on her chair. Her demeanor had changed slightly like it always did when she had to converse with others about her powers. "...I have super human senses today as well as uncanny reflex and strength..though by the looks of it i am not a strong as you today," she exclaimed going with a rather different way of talking about her powers."Tomorrow I will have Animal like senses as well as a permanent tail and fangs...as well as every thing else stated for today... At the end of the day it takes me a month to transform into a gigantic werewolf.," she said just trying to get to the point and not beat around the bush any more."...So what is your specific power Marley?" she asked quickly trying to get off the topic of her powers.
