The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"I've wanted to do that since sometime after lunch," Mike replied with a slight grin. She could still feel his mind, so it was obvious that he didn't have any alterior motives... he's just being honest.

"Considering how we had a run-in with a serial killer and had the whole living room congregation watching us like a feature film..I can see how that would've been difficult." she laughed. " ..but i think it was worth the wait."
"As long as you don't stop thinking so," Mike said with a happy sigh. THe two of them were still twirling slowly in the air, and were very slowly sinking toward the lawn below, though they were still very high off.
"Not particularly, but I honestly don't know how long I can keep us floating. I've never flown long enough to get tired, I really wouldn't want this to be the first time." They were drifting down toward the top of the tree they'd been sitting under earlier. It was late, so there were only a handful of people on the lawn to point and stare, and most of them lost interest after a minute anyway.

"Yeah, I wouldn't want that either. Seeing as my teleportation powers aren't that reliable." she looked down at the ground which could harldy be seen in the darkness. The tree she had loved so much seemed almost forboding and creepy in the moonlight.
Mike caught her thoughts and smiled at them. "If it looks a little scary, don't look down," he said. As if to emphasize his point, he nudged her face up toward his and kissed her again.
He smirked as he looked into her eyes as they drifted down farther. "You realize that we've been feeding the rumor mill enough to keep it alive for a week, right?" he asked with a very slight chuckle creeping into his voice. The tree was only a few stories beneath them now.

Daria wrapped her tail around her left leg to keep it from swinging and hitting a branch as she looked back at Mike.
"Rumor mill?...Oh" she said finally cluing in. "Yeah, I guess we have..well if anyone asks we'll collaborate on a story." she laughed. "I teleported up too high during one of my fits and you came to get me. The you slipped and...your lips accidentally hit mine"
"Oooh, or maybe you were having trouble breathing, so we had to go waaaaaay up there, where the air's thinner? And then I had to give you mouth-to-mouth?"

Daria laughed.
"Exactly!" she shrugged. "I can deal with rumors. I've had worse things said about me than what people are probably going to say about us. I mean I doubt anyone could say something bad"

Daria didn't appreciate his tone on the last statement.
"What do you mean interesting?" she panicked as she heard the rustling of the branches beneath their feet. She calmed down, though, as they floated between the reaching tree limbs because the effect was beatiful. The branches seemed to rise above them and battle with the moonlight that seeped through in thin veins of luminescence.
