The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"I couldn't tell, honestly. It's like walking into a crime scene and trying to find signs that the killer cried afterward. Even if they're there, everything else is too disturbing to concentrate." He squeezed her hand slightly. "And he really did do that stuff... I could see it in his mind. He... My god, and he asked me to help him, that's the sort of person I swore I'd make pay for what they did. What the hell is going on?"
He shook his head. "I wonder how the police would be able to handle him."

Daria could tell that whatever Mike had seen had really disturbed him.
"Mike, you know how people feel about mutants. The cops would probably do something just as bad to him as you would. And if he snaps on the cops that makes mutants look worse..and we already have a bad reputation. If anything, we can't let him leave here. Other mutants are the only force that can keep him in line. Seriously, where the hell is Tricity?"
Mike looked at Daria sadly for a minute. "Unfortunately, if we keep this secret and it gets out, we're all in DEEP, DEEP shit for hiding an admitted serial killer. I'm not just talking sanctions, fines and community service, I'm talking government-sending-giant-robots-to-kick-our-asses deep shit. And yes... where is she? Now we DO have to find her."

Daria removed her hand from his and fished a pair of leather gloves from her pocket. The day was fading and it was getting colder. She thought aloud as she put them on.
"Well we have to find Tricity, and we have to keep and eye on that kid. I feel like splitting up is a bad idea considering we're both a bit tired from sparring and, based on that battle we had with Kage, I 've learned that my powers don't hold up well against the elements. You're right, if we keep quiet we'd be abetting a criminal. So we'd better keep an eye on him-I'm too young and pretty to go to jail."
*tricity came out onto the grounds, after the alarm had been tripped that someone outside of the mansion's community had entered. not only did the alarm inform her, but many of the kids had been pointing out the window and the normal screaming of the children outside was a tipoff too. tricity walked across the grass and met up with the new person.* "Can I help you? No one is allowed on the grounds without an appointment."
Mike finally spotted Tricity catching Calamity as he walked up to the building and breathed a sigh of relief. "Well, I guess we should let her do her thing for now. What do you think, inside?" He glanced up at the sky, "Before it rains?"
JJ looked at the woman, he had no idea what to say. "I didn't know I needed an appointment, ma'am. I'm JJ Clementis, Calamity. I was wondering if you could help me," he said nervously.
*tricity rolled the name around in her head and she thought she remembered xavier mentioning something about a calamity, but it wasn't coming back to her at the moment.* "What do you need help with exactly?" *tricity felt a raindrop on the top of her head and then it began to pour in buckets.* "Um, excuse me a moment." *she began to herd the children together and usher them inside. a few of them thought it would be funny to play chase with her. eventually she threatened detention and they went inside. completely soaked, tricity went back up to calamity and took him under the stone awning above the front entrance of the mansion to keep from getting wet* "Ok, now what is it that you want?"
"well, sia JJ. I've been thinking about my actions in the past, and I want to reform. I want to become part of the X-Men." He said this calmly, although he was still soaked, and began to shiver. As he was speaking, he heated his body, as to stop shivering.
(ooc: i thought we decided against you having fire powers and now only earth and wind?*
"Um, well see...we don't just recruit like that. You would have to stay with us a while and I would need to see you use your powers, control them...a whole lot. We can have a formal meeting if you wanted to stay here." *it was bothering tricity more and more that she couldnt remember who he was.*
"Look, I really have to get back inside and tend to the kids. I'll talk to you a little later or you can call me if you'd like." *tricity reached into her purse and pulled out a card with her information.* "I'll see you!" *she quickly rushed inside and out of the rain.*
