The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Mike was quiet through all of Calamity's explanation, and he frowned at Daria's thought. A human-massacring mutant, asking for help in changing. He honestly didn't know what to think of this.
The children all began to cry and look around frantically as the wind picked up. Michael frowned again and reached out with his telekinesis, forming a buffer around the group that the wind couldn't penetrate.
"I was hoping we'd only deal with one psycho at a time, how about you?" he thought to Daria.
Then, not knowing what to tell Calamity, he did the one thing that could help him decide. He reached out into Calamity's mind, reading his emotions and intentions, examining whether his displays of grief were genuine and whether he really did want to change.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly! Daria thought back to Mike. She quickly ran to the children, as Mike manipulated the buffer to let her in, who went to her arms. She did her best to sooth them leading them off away from Mike, where she could still be in view of what was happening and in range to hear him call her mentally.
"What's wrong?" the boy whom Mike had called Jimmy asked Daria. "Why is he doing this?"
The cat girl shrugged. "Nothing is wrong. He is just in a little pain."
"Can we help him?" the red haired girl asked. "Why don't you let me and Mike handle it? Don't cry" Daria said giving her another squeeze. She looked around for someone she trusted to take the kids inside. One of the teens, a boy about 16 offered to take the children and Daria, sensing he was a good choice urged the young ones to follow. She watched them walk off and then turned back to Mike and JJ.
JJ then realized what he was doing, and stood, embarrassed. The wind stopped abruptly, "I'm sorry, you must think I'm crazy," JJ said, lookin at the way they were looking at him. I just haven't felt this way in a long time." He wiped the tears from his eyes, and began to smile. "I'm JJ Clementis. You might know me as Calamity. I don't think I'll go by that name any more, though." He then stuck out his hand once more, ready for it to be shaken, for the first time in his life.

Daria was still watching from afar, waiting to see what would happen. She sniffed the air and sensed tension but his nature wasn't too easy to sense with her mild powers. She did however sense a certain conflict about him. It worried her.
JJ didn't realize until it was too late. The older boy standing before was was reading his mind. He didn't try to block anything when he felt it, but welcomed him. He wanted to be trusted, for once. He wanted to be good.

Daria could still sense Mike's presence within her conciousness and felt that he was slightly distracted, She took it as him reading JJ's mind and decided to fill the silence that had settled there. She walked up and shook JJ's hand, a short quick shake before stuffing her hands in her pocket.
Needless to say she was still curious. "Call me BlackCat." she said not trusting him enough to tell him her real name. Indeed, his arrival was most suspicious and random.
Mike nodded briefly. "You'll have to talk to the headmistress then. We can't really help you, we're students. The admin building is over there."
Taking advantage of Calamity's lack of resistance, Mike did a rewiring of his emotions. It was a bit deeper than what he'd done to Daria the previous night, so it would last longer, but it was nevertheless easy. For the next several hours, Calamity would be incapable of any sort of violence against residents of the school without feeling mind-numbing, heart wrenching guilt.

Daria had no clue what Mike was doing mentally to JJ but she knew something was going on.'
"Yeah, he's right. We can't help you with something like this. You should go to the admission's office and find Tricity." she shifted weight on her feet, the feeling of uneasiness was begining to subside but her suspicions weren't. She wanted to get out of there.
"Why don't you go on in there? We've got to get our stuff back together, we'll meet you in there if you can't find her," Mike suggested. Being inside Calamity's mind was, needless to say, somewhat disturbing, and he wanted a few minutes to recover before going any further with this.
JJ immediately did as he was told, and without a word, went inside the building. He knew that they still didn't trust him and wanted to prove himself, but didn't know how. He was waiting inside for the couple to come inside, because he had no idea where to go.
Mike still hadn't gotten a good read, being inside JJ's mind was far too disturbing to get a read on his sincerity on the first try. He took a deep breath as he watched the boy leave, his hands shaking.

Daria's nerves relaxed and th hair on her arms and tail stopped standing. She glanced at Mike qucikly then back at JJ as he disappeared. She looked back to Mike and noticed his hands were shaking so she instinctivly slipped one of hers into his.
Mike's eyes glowed with a flurry of emotions that he didn't even completely understand. With a furious look on his face, he reached out his hand, lifted a television-sized rock that was sitting in the nearby garden, and with a shout shattered it.
He seemed to deflate after taking his rage out on the rock. "My God... he's a serial killer, Daria. A damned serial killer at the age of fourteen. Snapping his neck would have been less of a crime than fighting Kage was."

Daria winced at the sound of the rock shattering but didn't let go of Mike's hand. She didn't want him to think he was scaring her.
"A serial killer? He was serious? Who the hell introduces themselves like that? Hi my name is ___ and I'm a homocidal maniac." she shrugged and kicked a pebble that had once been part of the rock. "I didn't like that kid's vibes at all. Made me nervous,....like hide under a car nervous. Yeah we could've fought him but what if it turns out he wants to reform? What did you see in his head?"
