The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Pluto woke up late and thus never even knew that Mars had tied something to his door to alert any early attacks, he went to Lisa got the packages that He had been waiting for and went to work as a semester. He made a gorgeous costume of Sailor Venus for Charge and he made a Tuxedo mask costume for himself, he hadn't realized the perfect opportunity until Abyss mentioned going to a ball.
He made both costumes out of some very interesting fabric that could lead to some hilarious photos, He was taking one in his manner of attack but it wouldn't be as funny and as deniable if he didn't join in. So after a long day in front of his singer sewer3000 he had had made two great pieces of work. his room he finally finished and suited up. He then went down to Charges room and taped on the door.
"Hey Girlie, It is Pluto. I came to negotiate a treaty." He pulled his cape up and made him self presentable, he wondered if she was going to answer and if he should try to enter if she didn't what if she was out? What if she was out!He held her dress over his arm. inhis other hand he hat box that held all the other accesories that would push her from novice to cosplay kookoo.
This was win, win. Hopefully all of his work however would not go for naught and hopefully she would agree to come with him. He was going to play it strait he was considering taking her to a convention, but for the treaty to hold and for her to prove that she wanted to be friends, they would go to the ball instead.
"Hey Girlie, It is Pluto. I came to negotiate a treaty." The knocking sounded just as clearly as if she had been in her own room. Lori sighed, folded closed the new book she'd come to... borrow and peeked out of Mars' room. Yep. Still Pluto. Still there. So much for surprising Mars when he returned.
"I see you brought me a present. Nice cape, by the by. You make that yourself?" Lori wasn't entirely sure she could convince Pluto to drop the cosplay thing. Especially since he was wearing a... wait.. she recognized that outfit from the episodes. Tuxedo Mask. Yeah. No amount of negotiating was going to get her out if he was going to accompany her in this cosplay.
She sighed and slinked out of Mars' room. The door pulled closed behind her and she pulled it closed until it clicked locked. No reason for anyone else to get a hold of the treasures held within. It was a shame that she wasn't sure what she had ruined specifically.
Wouldn't it be easier to replace things than force public humiliation on others? Honestly, it might not have even been her! She'd broken the handle to get it, but somehow she knew that wasn't going to be an effective argument against Pluto. Either way this was going to come back as her fault for sure.
"I see that no amount of bartering or logic will sway you from this course of action." She leaned back against the door and regarded Pluto with cool eyes. "I'm also guessing this is going to be more painful than going out and getting ice cream together."
"I see you brought me a present. Nice cape, by the by. You make that yourself?"
"Yup, and It is a nice cape! it came out almost as good as your stuff.
I see that no amount of bartering or logic will sway you from this course of action." "I'm also guessing this is going to be more painful than going out and getting ice cream together."
Pluto smiled, "We can get Ice cream still, there will always be room for ice cream between friends. Try it on I have worked on all of this since I woke up, and lowered my self to tuxedo mask for you!" He Smiled at her I was thinking I could take you out. Ice cream first and then a costume party." He nearly jumped up and down with glee. "Try it on! You are gonna look good in this. I bet you won't have worn something that fit, soooo right.speaking of which, if you like my work, and you come out with you tonight, I will make you a dress of your choosing and style."
Pluto looked at here anxiously, half expecting her to change right here, she definitely wasn't hard to look at, but changing in the hall at random...was a mind game. one that almost worked.
"Oh, I will bring your clothes back too, I was excited, so I forgot."
Pluto smiled a smile that reminded Lori of Sid from Toy Story. There was just something so nefarious about big, red, and grinning like an idiot. "We can get Ice cream still, there will always be room for ice cream between friends. Try it on I have worked on all of this since I woke up, and lowered my self to tuxedo mask for you!"[/color]
"I saw that. You know, it'd save us both a bit of humiliation if you wanted to drop this, but I won't put down something you obviously put so much love and hard work into." Well, that was awfully civil of Lori. Mars had better recognize the effort she was putting into living in this house of crazy. Why had he been gone so long? It was nearly dinner time.
Pluto smiled when she took the clothing. "I was thinking I could take you out. Ice cream first and then a costume party. Try it on! You are gonna look good in this. I bet you won't have worn something that fit, soooo right."[/i] He smiled more when she stood watching him. What? He wanted her to change here? There were limits to the benefits Mars' brothers got. "speaking of which, if you like my work, and you come out with you tonight, I will make you a dress of your choosing and style."
"Yeah, dresses aren't really my thing, but I'm sure we can work something out." Having him owe her could be advantageous. Of course, she was going to nuke this costume with magnetic fields and check for any kind of trap she could imagine, but after that -- who cared if a bunch of nerds at a costume party saw her and Pluto as some magical people? The costume wasn't even half bad.
"Maybe we should get ice cream another time. No reason to hazard a stain on this lovely tailoring." And check one public place off of her sailor debut. Maybe he went the full nine yards and get her the red mask, Venus wore as a solo crime fighter? ... anonymity would help her courage here.
"Oh, I will bring your clothes back too, I was excited, so I forgot."
"Meet me back here in ten. Not much here so it shouldn't take too long to squeeze into, right?" Lori held up the skimpy skirted leotard. 'Mars. Come home. Stop the madness.'
"I saw that. You know, it'd save us both a bit of humiliation if you wanted to drop this, but I won't put down something you obviously put so much love and hard work into."
“humiliation or greatness?” "Yeah, dresses aren't really my thing, but I'm sure we can work something out."
He pointed to his suit,” I can do other stuff too obviously, this all started when I decided we blew too much money on tailoring.so I guess if you want something different, I can work it.”
"Maybe we should get ice cream another time. No reason to hazard a stain on this lovely tailoring."
“fair enough” So she wanted to rush strait to the ball then.
"Meet me back here in ten. Not much here so it shouldn't take too long to squeeze into, right?"
“oh I almost forgot, again. All the good stuff to go along with it. There is a mask in there for you too, I thought you might be a bit she your first time out. This way you can enjoy it for what it is.” He handed here the box with the custom shoes, bow, gloves, jewelry and mask.
Pluto Took the time to go get a camera and give it to Lisa to snap a couple of shots, so he could give them to her later, if this didn’t start an up roar in the news. He also picked up a little prop, that he was going to give to Lori. He then walked back down to her room, he leaned by the room and then tapped at the doot. “ you aren’t one of those girls that enjoys keeping the boys waiting on ya are you?” Pluto’s tail was still having trouble not fighting the heck out of the cape that was traping it today. His tail twitched. There stood Pluto as tuxedo mask infront of her doo holding out a rose for her….now only if she would come out.
She frowned at the box until he mentioned the mask. Masks were doable. Very doable. It was almost too easy. She watched him disappear in a gleeful squee and muttered about how this had so put him in debt to her.
She went to her room to change. But first came the paranoia. She checked the seams, she nuked it, she shocked the metal bits, checked the shoes... she took every precaution she could think to take against possible sabotage, espionage, or any other ages for that matter.
Once she could find no wrong to call the deal off, she realized she had run out of excuses and it was time to actually do this thing. She looked at the costume as it lay flat on the ground and it looked back at her. 'Pluto... you had better enjoy this.'
Leotard and frilly orange skirt? Check. Kitten heel shoes, a bit tight but that was a check. Hair bow? Well, it wasn't as fluffy as Isabel's, but it would have to do. Check. Gloves up to her elbows? White and probably wouldn't remain that way. Check. She was tying the choker and last bit of ribbon around her ankles when she heard a loud rapping at her door.
“ you aren’t one of those girls that enjoys keeping the boys waiting on ya are you?”
"You aren't one of those boys who would rush a girl, are you?"
She kicked open the door and felt a draft. My that skirt was scant! "In the name of of the moon, I'm gonna kick your ass into next week if this isn't enough to put us square and then some." She winked from behind her mask. It wasn't quite the traditional seishi battle cry, but at least she was being honest. Also... there had better be liquid encouragement at this nerd party. Because drunk could almost make this fun.
Pluto put his hands up innocently, " I might be one of those boys, and Hello, Sailor Venus! You look great!" for a moment he actually felt bad about this, this could have squared things up and they could have had a fun night out. And then things could be cool....was he going to stop himself? no no he was not. This was grand!
"In the name of the moon!" He smiled widely. " I think after tonight we will be doing just fine, to be honest I thought you might bail on me. Come, I have the car waiting out front." Had he ordered a limo to take them up to the Ball, why yes he had. Was it more than anything to get Drinky here access to a mini bar, and maybe be able to actually get her out of the car when they got there, why yes it was.
He offered his arm if she wanted to hold on to more than likely she would zap him but this was too much fun. well, if he felt guilty, he wouldn't because obviously he was playing a joke on her, that he wasn't playing on himself.
When they got to the lobby he smiled at Lisa, who had been told that they both enjoyed this, and would not think anything of snapping a couple of pics.
Lisa however knew and somewhat disliked Pluto so it didn't go as planned but went more like.
"You two get where ever you want the picture taken."
Pluto glanced at Lori. " Please! just one or two?...one or two picturess and I wont bring up cosplay again until you do. deal?"
"I might be one of those boys, and Hello, Sailor Venus! You look great!" "Really?" She wasn't above needing the praise. Lori was fit, but she had muscle. Sailor scouts were those unrealistically tall and skinny type of ridiculous. Lori was short and rather boxy for a girl. Sure, she had curves, but they weren't meant to be displayed in a white leotard.
"In the name of the moon!" He smiled widely. "I think after tonight we will be doing just fine, to be honest I thought you might bail on me. Come, I have the car waiting out front." "Don't think the thought hasn't been beating on the inside of my skull." She affixed the mask to her face and took Pluto's arm. She was used to heels, but there was something about all of her leg being exposed to everyone everywhere that made her a bit jumpy.
>"You two get where ever you want the picture taken."
Pictures? Lori gave Pluto a not so friendly look, but smiled for Lisa. Who wouldn't smile for Lisa?
"Please! just one or two?...one or two picturess and I wont bring up cosplay again until you do. deal?"
She let the camera and flash go off. Lori even posed enthusiastically once or twice, but the magnetic field she had positioned right between Lisa's face and the camera was sure to ruin that film. She really didn't want pictures of this event. If she'd known where they were going, Lori would have started hitting Pluto over the head now and not stopped until he brought her home. Lucky for Pluto she had no idea... and there was no way she could get all the film from all of those cameras.
"Shall we?" Encouraged by her small success at thwarting Pluto, Lori offered her arm to him. She lead them out the golden doors and to the street where a limo awaited. She gave him another suspicious glare before smiling and sliding into the leather interior.
"Ah - a fully stocked mini-bar. You are a saint, Tuxedo Mask." She grabbed the stiffest of the whiskeys and poured them both a shot. "In the name of the moon!" Lori drank and waited for Pluto to as well. She would make him match her shot for shot.
“Yup.” And she did too, it took a whole let less to get a guys attention then clingy spandex. Throw on top of that a weirdo aspect of dressing in cosplay for a guy who loves anime. And it was an too easy for Pluto to tell her she looked good.
A couple of those poses in that out fit with the flash would make black mail all too easy. Or getting himself murdered…you had to be careful win playing with electricity…He really should take that into account, that is how they initially met in the alley not so long ago. He thought he was dead, and they say milk baths are nice.
"Shall we?"
“tee-hee.” Was Pluto’s answer as he took Lori’s arm, He was not above making girlish noises. He was lead to the limo that he might have to pull her out of. Hopefully the bar would keep her occupied. He might need to distract her, by drinking with her, it was best to start off with resistance though. Limo’s made bad time in this city.
"Ah - a fully stocked mini-bar. You are a saint, Tuxedo Mask." "In the name of the moon!"
“But of course. I thought I’d help you take the edge off.” He looked her square in the eyes; the masks obscuring the faces added a certain amount of comedy to the seriousness that he displayed. “You sure you want me drinking, I don’t handle it the same as Jup for some reason…nor do I have the veteran liver.”
The limo proceeded to make its way down the road. Not even the sanctuary was bad enough to scare away the awful traffic that congested the cities streets.
His excuse for not drinking was lame. Even if his liver was a pansy and he was a he might get tipsy, he had body mass to spare. One wouldn't hurt him. "You're lame. You've got body mass to spare, drink one... for courage." She was a bartender. Her job, well one of her jobs, had been to get people to drink. And if he didn't? Well, she'd pull a terrible two's tactic and refuse to exit the limo until he did.
In fact, where were they going? Lori left off her vigilant "make Pluto drink something" watch to peer out the window. They were headed through some mighty crowded streets. She didn't think a nerd con would have gotten so big, but... you never know in this town. Maybe they were all closet nerds and she was just now finding out?
Whatever. She downed another shot of her own. Not too much because she didn't want to get crazy and loose something important off her costume... like her mask. But enough to get her to not care where they were going at least. Which was good because the limo was pulling up to a carpeted area with photographers and velvet rope.
She closed her eyes and counted to four explicatives. Then opened them and smiled at Pluto. This was way more than pay back... he owed her more than a singled tailored outfit now too... "Should I call you Tuxedo Kamen? Or Tuxedo mask?" Pluto was at the door now so she would have to wait for him to exit the limo.
He'd thrown her a challenge. If she could keep her cool she could be someone else... anyone else... no one had to know it was here. She was just some blonde. Apparently a dumb, gullible blonde who underestimated the depths of Pluto's treachery. And wouldn't even comprehend the true diabolicalness until the morrow.
