The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

“A little too much juice… well then, no more grape soda for you…” Shin shot back as the ice and steam elemental steered himself into a beach-side landing. Shin cringed slightly, expecting a large crash. An explosion of sand popped into his mind.
“Guess I was too spicy for him,” Sam stated, and Shin crept a look back at Cold Steel. Safe A chilling aura frosted up the air around him as he coated his body in ice, and then he was attacking sharks again. One got encased in a cube of ice.
“Think we got the leader’s attention?” Sam stepped towards Shin, walking on frozen water. “If it’s her she should be good and angry now… which will force her to make an appearance.”
“Yup,” Shin replied tersely, reevaluating his barrier alignment and calling up a few new shards. They flew through the air, shifting and coming together to form a large opaque blue-green square barrier, a ‘squarier’, if you will. He hopped from one platform to the next, jerking the three golden triangles from his last position up around in like shields. One hovered on either side of his body, and the third stuck around behind his back. Their surfaces shone like mirrors.
He looked around for some sign of movement to signal an approach, raising his volume. “I know you’re down there watching us,” Shin bluffed horrendously. “So why don’t you hop on out and grace us with your presence?” He turned to smile sheepishly at Sam, dropping his voice. “You know, one in twenty times you actually get it right with those sorts of things?”

Leila watched calmly as the X-Men fought her Sharks. She should of trained the Fish Brains a bit first, they really were hopeless. She rolled her eyes as one was encaged in ice. She swam away from her hiding place and waited until the top layer of water was completely solid. She concentrated on the voices above, trying to figure out when the best time to appear would be. Right about now, they seemed well on guard.
“Think we got the leader’s attention?” her stomach twisted as she heard his voice. She didn't want to see him right now, but she knew one way or an other, she'd have toio. These guys wouldn't just leave, they wanted to do something about her. Just a few more seconds... “I know you’re down there watching us,” Crap. Leila thought, as Shin's voice was echoed in her ears. Way to get them off guard.
Leila smirked and swam upwards, if they wanted to be gracedwith her presence, she'd give them a very welcoming one. She was right under Sam's feet, the ice was solid, but not enough for her tail. She took in a deep breath, and then wiped her tail at the ice, breaking it in tiny pieces, if Sam didn't haave fast reflexes, he'd fall in the water. Leila grinned evily, and in the same second, jumped on the ice, facing Shin. Her eyes were darkeness and menacing, her smile was smug and reckless.

Trying hard not to laugh at Shin’s comment as they were standing close to each other Sam just smirked; closing his eyes Sam waited and listened to see if he could hear his ice breaking some where. ‘Bingo’ thought Sam as the ice gave way and fell apart leaving a big hole in the ground. Sam shot a grin over to Shin and didn’t make an attempt to move onto the other ice but instead allowed himself to fall through the hole.
The water around him felt warm through his ice armor, ‘Going to have to fix that…’ thought Sam as he waited till he hit the bottom of the water. The sand at the bottom quickly formed to his feet as he looked up at the ice surface. There were two holes in the ice now, one where he fell through and one where she must have shot up. Shin was a lot more powerful that he was back in the day, which was one of the main reasons he wasn’t that worried about him. Rather he was more worried for her even if he would never admit it.
His arms floated up and down as Sam was massing the concentration he needed to pull this little stunt off. Feeling the power form around his body Sam felt the water around him get colder and less free flowing but rather, thick and slow moving. The water around him started to freeze from the sand he was standing on all the way to the sheet of ice he already created. Swimming through the water as it freezing was never an easy task but he didn’t mind the extra amount of power it required for it.
Jumping out of the hole that was now solid ice and followed by a pillar Sam landed right behind a familiar women, a back side that he never could have forgotten, even with a dolphin tail, “Hello Leila,” Sam muttered slightly.

A spray of ice, a splash, Cold Steel had vanished beneath the water’s surface leaving a dripping wet dolphin girl in his place. Narrowed slits of silver zoned in on Leila’s face, searching for any trace of the girl he once knew.
“So all those deaths weren’t a coincidence, then…” He shook his head, calling up ten four inch panes of triangular red glass with a flick of his wrist. They spun above his index and middle fingers, arranging themselves into a reflective box that balanced in place on a fingertip. Disappointment raged in his mind. He’d thought she’d have been better than that. Sure, the order ate babies, but forcing sharks to do it? Sheesh. Sam exploded back onto the scene in a spray of ice and chilled water.
“Hello Leila,” Sam muttered behind her. Shin shook his head.
“Oh should I say Encantado?” The name made him shudder. He’d heard about her escapades with the Order. “What are you going to do here and now, oh enchanted one? Thanks for gracing us with your presence, by the way. I can’t believe that bluff actually worked. One time in twenty, I tell ya.” Shin smirked at Sam.
Smug and reckless. That was the look on her face. And here she was, outnumbered and surrounded. Another box sprung up in Shin’s other hand.

Leila shook her head at Shin, "Nope. Just little old me doing my thing." she smiled at him, a very sweet, yet awful grin that was only meant for her favorite little X-nerds. Shin for example, she'd known him long ago... they'd actually been close to friends. Sam though... she looked down at his blurry shape in the water, he was her oh-so-very favorite of them all. Leila smile widened as Sam's shape became clearer, he was rising upwards, oh this would be fun.
"Well, well if it isn't Sam Johnson." she said, an eviler grin on her face for the greatest of the X-nerds. "I didn't expect to see you here! Oh wait... actually, I did... Well, just goes to show that even after ten long years you still haven't gotten over me, have you?" she twirled her hair flirtaciously, looking back at Shin, who'd started speaking again. "Encantado, Calypso, Dolphin Mistress... I go by many names nowadays." she said, a bored tone in her voice.
"Oh, and no problem Shin, I needed a little distraction. Florida has become very...boring. I was actually thinking of making a little visit... How are the X-Men Sam?" she asked, walking swiftly on the icy ground, only about three feet from Sam. She was certain he wasn't going to hurt her, how could he? She knew he still, very deep down, cared about her. Oh, how easier it would be to kill them both if the feelings weren't mutual. Oh well, girls can't always have everything they want.

Under normal circumstances Sam would have laughed and added a quick witty banter to follow up Shin’s comment about the bluff but not now not with Leila here. He wasn’t in the joking mood and he had a feeling Leila and Shin both got that feeling and Leila being Leila was sure to rub a little salt in the wound.
“Many names indeed,” Sam said through a short breath as he inhaled, “Back stabber, heart breaker, harpy, succubus, lie, cheat, tease, murder…” he paused and then stared at her dolphin form in disgust, “The Leila, I once loved is long dead... the key word in this sentence is ‘once’!” he kept a straight face with his lie and would it would be impossible his heart skipped a beat as he lied something that he figured would be believable enough.
She took a step closer and Sam took a step back, “I really don’t want to be here longer than I have to be, Sammy is waiting for me back home and I want to read to him before he goes to sleep.” He paused for a second and then continued, “So please come quietly...” looking around Leila to Shin, Sam asked, “You think you can do the honors of making a cage that can hold her highness?”

“Easily,” Shin replied tersely, lips a tight-drawn line on his face. “But I’d hope she’d come quietly and peacefully so that I didn’t have to…” They both knew that probably wouldn’t be the case. Without batting an eyelash or moving a finger, Shin called up three walls of triangles behind his back. One wall was silver, one wall lime green, the third wall aquamarine. They shone behind him like mirrors, ready to dissipate and be called to action at a moment’s notice.
“So please, Leila. Do the sensible thing,” his voice urged emphatically. “Come with us… we even have grape soda.” He watched her carefully for her reaction. At least he'd hold up the premise of peaceful capture for the moment...

Leila smiled, "Yeah, yeah whatever. I chose my path, you chose yours. We both had different views, and you know what... the Sam I thought I'd loved, just turned out to be an other one of those jerks who ends up breaking a woman's heart!" she felt as if she was about to stab him, or at the most, hit him hard with her tail, but she stopped herself, trying to calm down. She needed to do this professionally, not let her emotions get the best of her. Sam wasn't the right one for her, there was no right one... No men in this world would ever be the right one! She was meant to be alone...
Leila shook her head, "Sammy?" she asked, a grin on her face. She was sure he was trying to get her to crack, but she knew that he'd bounce back up. "I bet the mother's long gone too?" she asked, "Who are you with now Sam? A stripper you met at a bar? Or wait... a dumb, low-life human girl?" she crossed her arm, giving him an angry look of pure discust. "That's something I don't get about you stupid X-lamos. You always stick out for humans when they just stab us in the back! Kill. That's how I see it. Kill before they kill you." she rubbed her hands together, watching as Shin started building up his crystal-like walls.
Leila didn't see anything wrong with coming with them. For all they cared, she'd escape once they took her back to New York, and be able to re-join her Order. They'd sort of be her Taxi. "Oh, well thanks! I was planning on taking a plane back to New York, but the Blackbird is soooo much comfier!" she grinned, not showing any sign of a fight.

Nodding slightly as he looked to Shin, Sam’s body tensed up when Leila mentioned Haley, Sammy’s mother, yes she was gone but she was still important to him. She was after all Sammy’s mother, sure he didn’t love her but still she was important to him and she was a human. Frowning slightly on her next comments Sam didn’t really feel the need to talk to her about that. She was allowed to have her opinions about humans but sill she didn’t need to kill them, she could be distrust full but there was no reason to kill them off.
Even though Sam was and X-man he still had friends on the different perspective on the Mutant/Human friend scale, for a number of years now him and Abyss had been friends, friends with opposing views but friends none the less.
Looking to Shin he asked, “Is there anyway you can make that cage sound proof?” he sighed and started heading back to the Blackbird, “Think I’ll crash the Jet if I have to listen to her “Kill humans” speech again. The ice around his body fell off as he lazily walked up to the Jet and climbed in, once inside he said to Leila, “Oh by the way, we have a nice prison cell for you back home. Please remain seated and enjoy your flight.” He flipped a few switches and waited till Shin was buckled before he took off and headed home.

Sighing, Shin joined Sam back in the blackbird, carting Leila along like a good little girl. Sadly, he could do nothing about the soundproofing, unless they wanted her to suffocate. "Afraid we'll have to listen to self-righteous rants all the way home if she so desires to share them." Shin muttered. "Or, we could drown out her's with our own. Sure she'd love it with the shoe on the other foot."
Leila was buckled into the seat behind Sam and Shin, a cage of crystals around her chair. The gaps between each bar measured a half-inch to allow air flow. It sparkled something fierce. Someone might get sick of the glitter before they got sick of the plane. Still, one couldn't fault the humanitarian design. A pair of handcuffs kept her right hand fastened to the chair.
"So Leila, we're turning on the radio. You want country or Jazz?" He turned back to smile at her, holding a CD in his hand. The label read 'Best of Kenny Chesney'. It looked like the judgment was already cast, but the illusion of choice was nice. Right?
