The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Leila's grey-ish blue skin was shinning in the sun. Although it was Mid-Winter, here in Miami, it was very hot. Just the way Leila liked it nowadays. That wasn't the only reason the WereDolphin liked her Beach-side house though. As she made her way towards the dock that was connected to her terrain, she called out to the water with an ear splitting wail. Soon enough, two Sharks were swimming about, and the evil girl grinned. Her plan had worked as of yet, more Humans had died this week then the rest of the year. "Hello my pretties," she whispered. "You did a fabulous job but we're just getting started. The Police have finally decided to act upon the Mysterious Disapearances." she snarled.
"What do you need us to do today, Encantado?" one of the Sharks said. Leila's tail swayed back and forth, and she tried to avoid smashing anything to the ground. "Today, I'm expecting some of those X-Fools to come down and see what's going on. I was certain they'd be coming sooner..." she looked up at the house on the cliff above, and then back at her Shark friends. "I know they'll be here soon. I'll need you both to keep an eye out for any sign of people tress-passing on my land." she said. "Yes Ma'm!"
She smiled a weak smile towards them. "Do not disapoint me." she said, crouching so she could face them better. The two Sharks' jaws opened and closed, and Leila's smile widened, her eyes getting darker. With one leap, she dove in the cold waters of the Atlantic, and begun her search for new Sharks to go do her bidding. Many had been killed while on duty for her, and she didn't want to risk her two favorites. They worked hard, and were strong. She couldn't help but wonder however, who would be coming to try and stop her. Would it be a X-Fool she knew?

“HIYA!” The sound of 30 young boys screaming echoed around the walls of the dojo as they struck out fists in unison. Shin waved his finger like a conductor, directing them to turn and punch again. Music to his ears.
His pocket vibrated, breaking his concentration. He opened his narrowing eyes, looking around.
“Alright. Now I want you all to practice basic grapples with a partner for the next twenty minutes. Mark will be your supervisor until I get back.” He stepped past a middle-aged man with thinning brown hair as he walked towards the locker room, pulling out his cellphone and flipping it open. “Moshi moshi?”
The voice on the other line spoke. Shin nodded. “I see… yes… okay. I’d heard about that. Wow, really? Geez, that’s messed up man. Okay, yeah. I’ll be there in a few minutes. Keep those jet engines revved for me. I like my engines hot.” A tech guy. He smirked. It always was fun grating the last nerves of those guys. Grabbing his coat from the wall, he walked back to the training area.
“You take it for the rest of the morning, Mark. I have an errand to run.”
The brown-haired man nodded. “I’ll let Dojima know you’re stepping out.”
“Thanks,” Shin grinned, waving at his students. “Later, class!’
And out the door he went. A quick eighteen-minute car drive up-town to the mansion later, he was there. Clack! The car door slammed shut. As he rushed towards the main gate, he pushed down the button on his keychain. With a beep, the doors to the car parked on the side of the road locked shut.
~*~
His feet clattered down the stairs to the basement. It had been a while since the last time he’d been down there, but… the light switch was still in the same place! His fingers caught it with a flick, and the whole room ignited with a fluorescent glow revealing the Blackbird.

Sam was out in the courtyard playing catch with Sammy when his phone began to ring, “Go long Sammy!” yelled Sam as he used his steam power to give it the extra speed it needed to send it flying, “Alright Dad!” yelled Sammy as the ball cleared his head and showed no signs of stopping. Letting out a small laugh Sam had second thoughts about throwing the football so far but just as soon as the thoughts crept into his head they quickly left. As soon as the ball passed Sammy he was already off using his powers to fly after the ball.
Picking up his phone Sam said, “Hello…sounds good be there soon.” Sam hung up the phone and sighed. Once Sammy returned with the ball Sam called out to his kid and said, “Got a mission to go on kiddo, don’t know if I’ll be back tonight.” Sam noticed the look on his face as he waited to hear who was going to baby sit him, “Hope you don’t mind me asking Lee to look after you?”
The look on Sammy’s face brought a smile to Sam’s own face. “Just make sure you let Chelsea out and get all your homework done!” after Sam finished lecturing his kid Sam took off on his own letting his new mutation of steam propel him to the Black Bird hanger. “He’ll be safer with Lee” Sam said as he thought about bringing Sammy along on the mission. -----
Entering the jet hanger Sam waved to shin and said “Looks like you and me are the team this time.” Pausing for a second Sam asked, “Humans disappearing off the coast of Florida? Sounded like a normal shark attack till they told me a mutant was detected in the vicinity.”
Sighing Sam entered the cockpit and asked, “You now how to fly this thing or you want me to?”

The water was no longer cold as Leila made her way further out in the Ocean. There was no sign of any Sharks nearby, and she used her Powers to try and call some, unsucessfully. She crossed path with an inoccent Dolphin, who looked at her in mild shock. Just like Jumans, aquatic creatures were surprised when they saw a half Dolphin half Human roaming around. She didn't care though, whatever, she usually ended up killing whoever bothered her by staring, or whispering behind her back. She had sensitive ears after all.
"Have you seen a Shark around?" she asked, her tone sounded tense and rather threatening. The Dolphin stopped swimming, looking back into her eyes. "N-no M'am| There's no Sharks for a good 20 miles from here. It seems Humans are wiping them out these days. It's a matter of time, with the Haywire Virus changing not onlly Humans, but animals as well." it said. Leila growled, she was the one who ordered the Sharks to kill Humans or die trying, the Haywire had nothing to do with it.
The dolphin realized the Shifter was angry, and quickly scurried away. Leila sighed, 'Damn," she thought, 'The Shark population is decreasing as much as Humans.' She resurfaced, and sped up back towards the dock. Her tail gave her a lot of speed, so she was able to get there in less then twenty seconds. She pulled herself on the old wodden planks and laid as flat as possible with her tail and fin in the way.
"I need to head somewhere else soon." she said aloud, "Hawaii maybe. I'm not heading back to New York right now, not with the X-Men right on my tail." she added. She stayed there for what seemed like a long time, and when she'd finally gotten to her feet, the sun was at it's peak. She made her way back into her house, and, still in her WereDolphin state, dressed in a short plaid black and red skirt, knee high, boots and a very low cut black tank top. She piled her wet hair in a half pony tail, and then started preparing herself some food. She mentally noted to check on the Shark Guards after.

Shin turned as Sam entered the hangar, shooting him a knowing nod.
“Looks like you and me are the team this time.”
“Looks like.”
And then a question.
“Humans disappearing off the coast of Florida? Sounded like a normal shark attack till they told me a mutant was detected in the vicinity.”
Shin held his chin in thought. “Yeah, it’s strange. Of course, shark attacks are usually pretty rare. You have more of a chance to be killed by a speeding car than a shark. Still…” He wondered if some mutant fish mingler they’d once known was to blame. Putting that thought aside, he hopped on-board the Blackbird, heading straight for the cockpit.
He bent over to get something from the mini-fridge, looking up when Sam asked him who wanted to drive. He looked to the side, thinking. “Naw, you’d better do the driving. I’ve never been one for piloting planes… motorcycles, yes. Planes? No. Hey, you want something to drink?” He snagged a couple grape sodas from the fridge, picking the glass bottles up by their necks and setting one in the drink holder next to the pilot’s seat. He plopped himself down in the co-pilot’s chair, twisting off the bottle’s top with a hiss.
“Darn, that’s good.” He drained the drink, wiping his lips.

Nodding to Shin, Sam already sat himself in the pilot seat, and started flipping switches turning knobs and throwing levers. Sam was ready to go the second he got in the jet; something in the pit of his gut told him he wouldn’t like this mission. He didn’t know why but he was glad his kid was safe at home under the careful eye of Lee and Alice.
Nodding to the soda Sam didn’t touch it until they were in the air. But something such as a soda wasn’t to close to his mind right now, out of his entire life there was only one mutant that he met that could talk to sea critters. This mutant left a lasting impression, a sharp pain in his heart and foul taste in his mouth. “Hey Shin, I know your thinking the same thing I am what are the odds it’s her?” asked Sam as the jet was already in cruising altitude and already half way to max speed.
Pushing the speed throttle up some more Sam sighed then opened his grape soda, which sprayed out into a fountain only to be frozen to the can. Sam tilted his head and took bite and let out a small smile and said, “Yeah this stuff is good.”
It took another few hours but Sam felt a large amount of tension mounting more and more in his stomach as he felt himself getting closer and closer to the location where the first people went missing.
The sun was shining on the deserted beach as Sam looked around, “Think people got scared off?”

Leila swallowed the last bites of her sandwich, concentrating on a noise in the distance. X-scum, no doubt. She sighed, getting to her feet, accidentally smashing the chair with her tail. "Urgh, I hate when that happens." she growled, throwing it with the pile of wood that had once been other chairs she'd smashed. After ten years, her tail was still a bit hard to control. The noise was getting stronger, a jet, probably a good 10 miles away. She leaned against her door frame, watching as a speck came closer... closer.
"Stupid X's." she laughed, opened the door completely and rushing casually around the house, stopping only when she was at the edge of the cliff. "The X-Men have arrived my pretties. Do your worst. Don't kill them though, leave that to me." she laughed again, this time, her laugh was deadly, piercing. She knew the foul X's had heard it. The sharks too, because at her words, they swam out to greet the Goodie-goodies that would be her snack.
She stayed hidden behind the house, listening to what was going on a few yeards away, down on the beach, She'd make an appearance just at the right moment, but for now, she would let her Sharks start the fight. She'd just watch and enjoy, like she usually did.

“The same thing… yeah. Leila. I don’t know many fish minglers in this world, but I figure the odds are better it’d be her than the next step in ‘annoying’ and ‘evolution’ for sharks.” He shook his head as he remembered her departure. One of the first people he’d met at mutant manor, and to go that way… it really turned his stomach.
He paused as Sam’s soda exploded, and was consequently frozen. “Yeah this stuff is good.”
Shin smirked. Yeah, that’s the stuff. He shook his head. “If it isn’t Leila, I won’t know what to think…”
He sipped another soda as the Blackbird flapped on. It was a fairly silent flight from there. A few hours later, they reached that deserted beach. The sun was lowering slowly in the sky, but they’d outraced it. Still daylight, marking the ocean’s ebb and flow with that high tide/low tide mark.
“Think people got scared off?” Sam asked.
Shin scanned the beach from the cockpit of their jet. Not a soul in sight. “Maybe… or maybe they’re just long gone…”
The Blackbird touched down on the beach, kicking up a torrent of sand. Shin helped flick some switches, setting up the jet’s defenses. Nobody’d be jet-jacking when they’d left her to idle those engines. He lowered the gantry and walked down the ramp, onto the beach.
“And here we are,” he called out. “I know you’re watching us.” He loved doing that, even if nobody was around. In the 1 in a million chance someone was watching him, it really felt like a success. Otherwise, it just came off sounding paranoid. That was fun, too.

Blinking and looking around Sam frowned and searched the distance, ”You bluffing?” Sam asked Shin in a dull whisper as he looked over to the water figuring that's where Shin saw the faces. Well he found something, not really faces but fins. “Shin, you reckon that's our welcoming?” Sam asked as he began to walk to the beach in a confident stride.
Looking back to Shin as he was taking his X-men suit off Sam said, “Up for a swim?” with that he tossed his leather jacket with his insignia off to the side as the air around him began to distort around him, he could have killed the sharks easily but he figured the one who was controlling them would be more interested in a talk if their friends weren’t killed.
After all bad enough as is, Sharks were still endangered and the fact that all the attacks have been happing haven’t helped them that much seeing as people had been getting paid to kill them. Not to mention it wasn’t a real X thing to do.
The air around him started to heat up, “Steam!” Sam shouted so Shin had an idea what he was doing and that he should stay a short distance away so Shin himself didn’t begin to over heat in his radius. Sam might not have had the same control over Steam but it defiantly gave him the speed and strength he wanted to get this mission over with.
If it was really whom he thought it was controlling them he didn’t really know how he would react. Did he lover her, or was it lust, or just the feeling that having some one made you feel you belong. Either way Sam didn’t want to see her, he couldn’t handle it.
Letting out a small breath Sam lunged forward kicking a large amount of sand up behind him. Sing his enhanced speed Sam ran straight for the water that seemed to split apart welcoming him into the former area where the water was and the first friend of his, “Shin, how bout a frozen combo?” clenching his fist Sam punched the shark right in the nose before it could move sending it straight up in the air. If he was using his ice odds were the fish would freeze however with the steam he was generating the fish would get a small burn where it was punched.

“Onion rings and fried fish fillets sound good for a frozen combo?” Shin smirked, summoning up a trio of golden triangles and hopping up to balance on top of that Triforce. “I’ll ring ‘em up, you fry ‘em!” And with that, he was off, hovering inches above the water on his conjoined platform of geometry. Pink reflective shards whipped around in the air above his left hand, waiting for a target.
A slightly-charred shark flew through the air ahead of him—there was his target! His personal storm of triangles shot forward to make a hexagonal half-sphere bowl around the back of the descending marine animal, scooping it up within with a ‘ting!’ Shin’s eyes darted to the water, where another sharks fin sliced through the water.
“Here, Jaws-y Jaws-y~” Shin summoned up another scoop, bringing it up fast beneath it! Two sharks caught in fishbowls; that’s what he had. And they were all ready for a flash freezing.

Leila reconized the two voices at once. Sam Johnson and Shin... something. She hadn't known Shin long or well enough back when she was a Order member undercover as a stupid little goodie-goodie. Her smile widened, her eyes darkened. Sam, she'd have a whole lot of fun with him. She knew deep down, she still had feelings for him, and if she had, he sure had them too. She could see them now, trying to fight off her sharks. The two little fish heads didn,t seem to put up much of a fight against the X-Fools. Leila snarled. "Attack!" she hissed.
The two Sharks obeyed, even if they were practically surrounded. Leila liked Sam's new powers, she really hadn't known them that well after all, so it seemed. She took a deep breath, and took a step forward, making her in plain sight, though she was a good 10 feet higher then the X-Men. She ordered the Sharks to lunge at each of the men, the strongest one for Sam, the slightly less strong one for Shin. She didn't mind if they got killed, after this fight was over, she'd probably move slightly more south anyway. Humans had really started to scram after the last attacks.
She jumped.
The air brushed against her strong body, her hair undoing. She hit the water with a strong force, and then started swimming towards the fight. "Attack you fools, attack!" she yelled to the Sharks, hiding inside an under water cave. Watching Sam's legs and the lights coming from Shin's Shards over the water. They'd have a welcoming surprise. Shespotted an estranged baby shark in the proximaty, and smiled. "Bite this man's legs off, will ya6" she asked, and the shark swam towards Sam Johnson.

Grinning slightly as he felt the steam coming from his body begin to fluctuate more and more. “Shit!” Sam called out as he started loosing control of his steam power. The water around him started to boil and evaporate. Sam knew if he didn’t use up most of the steam soon he would end up hurting someone. His biggest concern however was Shin.
A large shark coming his way Sam frowned and tried to hold back most of his power. The shark opened its large mouth and bared it large and white teeth, “Shin I’ll be right back need to blow some extra power!” Sam threw a kick to the large shark and sent it three times higher than he did to the previous one.
Bending his knees Sam concentrated his energy to his feet and hands, a large explosion of water sand and a baby shark was the results of his take off. Sam was now feeling the familiar sensation of uncontrollable heat in his body like he was channeling the sun it’s self. He was a bad flyer when it came to sharp turns and maneuvers he knew this after playing with his son Sammy. The wind riveted his body as he began t go higher and higher, feeling the Steam getting less and less potent Sam focused on going lower to the ground.
Using his hands as and feet to turn Sam began a slow decent to the ground, sure he could go fast but why would he? Crash landing in water or sand hurt and with all the sharks in the water he wouldn’t have much time to switch to ice which he should have done from the start.

“Huh!?” Shin spun the watch Sam spiral out of control, his steam powers forcing him into the air like a bottle rocket… and that poor baby shark suffering the consequences. He turned to focus his control on the thrashing sharks he was carrying, letting one slip out from the bowl back into the drink with a splash. The second one, he tossed as best he could, rearranging the shards that had been carrying it into a barrage of razor-sharp means to an end. They flew at that shark with flat ends flushed towards it, knocking it down hard. Shin grit his teeth.
“They’re an endangered species, dammit… I don’t want to kill them, but self defense…” Glancing down at the platform below him, he floated a bit higher in the air, drifting towards Sam’s slow descent. “You OK!?”
Behind him, he was sure those sharks were gearing up for another assault. Thank goodness he was a good two feet above the water...

Leila snarled as Sam kicked her shark in the air. "Bad move, buddy." she whispered, "Go! Don't let the big goodies get you like this! Fight! FIGHT!* she hissed to the two Sharks who were being beaten so easily. Leila was angry now, the Sharks were so weak! She needed to take action, but could she really fight Sam? After all these years, had she really and truly gotten over him? In her mind, she'd say yes quickly and easily, but deep, deep down in her heart... The answer, although she wasn,t about to admit it, was no. No, she loved Sam so much right now, even after ten years. Even after all of the trouble she'd caused, all of the trouble he'd stopped.
Her heart still belonged to the man fight against her just a few feet away. She bowed her head for a few seconds, repressing tears, and missing Sam's loss of control. As she opened her eyes again and looked up, the Sharks were about to attack again. Leila smiled evily, "No Fish breath, no more fighting for you guys. Go off! Let me handle this, you guys are way to weak!" she said, and then swam ever so closer, behind a rock. Sam was only a few feet away, and she could see Shin's Diamond platform's gleam from the top of the water.

On the descent to the sand below Sam looked over to Shin on his platform and he called out, “I’m fine just had a little to much juice and like I said, I don’t want to kill the sharks though I think I might have had one after he nicked my leg,” Sam landed and showed a small set of teeth marks that barely broke the skin, “Guess I was to spicy for him,” Sam sat down focusing on his body in ice he felt the air around him begin to get colder, “Was to egger to get this over I should have just stuck to my ice powers…”
His body now covered in ice Sam skated over to Shin only to freeze the water he was standing on from the ground up, “well if they want to attack us now they are going to have to surface and from there easy pickings!” exclaimed Sam as he shot a finger to one of the sharks that looked like he was running away, “Bang” and instantly ice started to form around the shark freezing it in a prison.
“Think we got the leader’s attention?” Sam asked as he walked towards Shin who was still elevated on his platform of Barriers. “If it’s her she should be good and angry now… which will force her to make an appearance.” Sighed Sam as he looked around waiting for her or someone else to show, he really hoped it was someone else, he couldn’t deal with her.
