The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

(OOC: This takes place roughly around late 2011 early 2012)
Sam woke up in a pool of sweat, breathing heavily lying in bed seeing those same dreams he had ten years ago. They have been coming more and more frequently over the last year almost as a sign of things from the past are going to come back to haunt him. Sam wiped the sweat from his face and got out of bed and walked over to the cracked mirror. Looking at his reflection he looked at his face looking at his rugged five o’clock shadow he smirked and walked out the door but only after flexing at his reflection a bit. Sam then walked out the door and into the hallway of the mansion. The mansion was still his home but every now and then he left to travel for a bit.
Sam walked down the hall breathing heavily, sweating more and more as he walked. Sam stumbled a bit and fell over breathing harder and harder getting in a panic Sam tried to breath and calm himself but it was no use. This was the first time Sam ever felt overheated he felt like he was going to die. Now face first in the hallway of the mansion Sam drifted in and out of consciousness.
Lee had been almost asleep. Actually, she thought she might have been asleep, at least lightly, when she felt the baby move. Slight though it was, Lee had woken up and heard Tarin's even breathing coming from beside her, fast asleep. It was a comforting, very familiar sound for Lee after so many nights where he'd fall asleep before she would.
Lee was just rolling over, about to snuggle against Tarin's shoulder to try and fall back asleep, when she realized she was hungry. And not for anything particularly normal, either. She wanted pickles and watermelon. Lee knew that there were pickles in the mansion, there had to be, but the question would be whether they were lucky enough to have gotten watermelon so early in the year.
She knew she wouldn't be able to get back to sleep at that point until the craving went away. So with a slight grumbling, not too loud so as not to wake Tarin, Lee climbed out of bed and made her way through the dark to the door. Stepping out into the hallway, Lee closed the door behind her and started walking, her stomach protruding slightly between the bottom hem of her red tank top and the waistband of her black pyjama pants.
Lee was half way to the kitchen when she saw something unexpected; a crumpled body on the floor. Rushing over, Lee's mind was racing as she wondered what was going on; the hallway, especially like that, wasn't exactly the most comfortable place to sleep.
It was only once she had knelt down beside him that Lee recognized the man. "Sam?" Lee asked, concerned, her hand reaching out to lightly touch his shoulder. "What's wrong? What happened?"

Sam was now looking at a woman that he has met before; sweat dripping down his face he called out in a small voice, “M-M-Mom?” Sam felt a slight touch on his shoulder, it was so cold never before has anything felt cool but this hand was freezing on Sam’s body. It couldn’t have been his mom why would she be at the mansion she wasn’t a mutant, hell Sam didn’t even know if she was alive. Sam had to get away from his hallucination Mom, she wasn’t real he had to accept that.
Shifting his body Sam tried to stand up, only to fall and lean against the wall and then back on the floor again. Cough and trying to breath, the room was now getting warmer, and it felt like Sam was about to throw up. The air around Sam started to get warmer and it got a little foggy, Sam looked at his hands and saw that there was what looked like steam coming from fingertips. Sam finally got off of his hands and knees and leaned against the wall. Now certain he was seeing steam coming from his body he stood up completely mumbling to himself with his eyes half closed. “It’s to hot, why’s it hot, I am never hot.”
Sam started walking a bit he had to find somewhere to cool off. A few steps in he stopped and leaned over and started to cough. Sam was surprised as when he started to cough plumes of smoke started to come from his mouth and nose. Sam started to gasp for air try to voice what he was thinking but it only came out muffled, “What’s wrong… me?”
Sam was burning, his skin extremely hot under her touch. But didn't he have power over ice? That's what Lee thought she remembered, so shouldn't that mean he should be cool, not burning up and sweating there in the hallway?
And then he called her 'mom'. Lee blinked, the panic starting to set in a moment later. He wasn't seeing her there, he was having at least some form of a hallucination, and if Lee wasn't mistaken, the hall was definitely growing warmer, as if some power of his she didn't know about wasn't exactly being controlled.
Lee swallowed, biting her bottom lip as she scrambled backwards as best her pregnant condition allowed her to while Sam tried to get up. Then fell only to try and get up again. As if her fear and worry about Haywire wasn't already bad enough, but not now, not while she was pregnant. Just...no...
They needed to get Sam into some sort of quarantine before he got worse, before he could expose her to the virus any more, or any of the others in the school.
But how? Lee had no clue as she struggled to her feet. Now he was coughing out smoke, and it looked like his whole body was steaming. He had already felt hot to the touch before that had started, so she probably couldn't touch him now, not that that very thought didn't scare her because it would put her closer to him and the virus. But it didn't look like Sam would be able to walk to the Infirmary; he could barely stand leaning against the wall right now.
"I don't know, Sam," Lee lied, her voice barely a whisper. "We need to get you to DocProf. He'll figure it out, and we'll get you cooled down. Can you walk? We need to get to the Infirmary."

"We need to get you to DocProf. He'll figure it out, and we'll get you cooled down. Can you walk? We need to get to the Infirmary."
The hallucinations had been getting to him. It was a face that he had tried to forget, even as a hallucination she was pretty. But what was she doing here? She lived with Tarin somewhere in New York City, so why was she in the mansion.
Sam still couldn’t think straight; the heat wasn’t as bad for a second and the steam stopped, and he heard what hallucination Lee had to say she was making sense, if any one knew what was wrong with him it would be the DocProf. Sam stood up from the wall now completely upright and he started to walk a little and he turned to Lee and smiled, “You know for a hallucination your pretty smart.” He turned and started to walk a little, and then he stumbled to the wall as the room temperature shot up.
There was a pattern to the heat waves, it would subside for a few seconds to a minute and then it would shoot back up warmer than before. The term volcanic eruption came to mind when he thought about his situation.
Just as the heat left his body it shot up again, he was gagging on steam. He started to cough more and more as the room felt like a sauna the heat in Sam’s body left. Within the moment of his body cooling Sam looked around and headed to the infirmary. He then stopped to repeat the process but the steam and heat was getting more and more intense.
Finally, Lee saw Sam stand fully upright and start walking after she had mentioned how they needed to get him to DocProf, how they'd get him cooled down. Lee stood there and watched, her arms worriedly wrapped around her stomach, as Sam took a few steps before stopping and turning toward her.
"No, Sam, I really am here," Lee whispered. Though, as Sam doubled over again coughing out what looked like smoke or steam or something once more, she couldn't help but think that if she really was smart, she would have gone for DocProf right away rather than staying there to try and help Sam down to the infirmary.
"Come on, Sam," Lee said again, her voice starting to take on a bit of a pleading tone. "I'm not a hallucination, and you're not dreaming -- I doubt I'd be craving pickles and watermelon if this were a dream. But you need to see DocProf, and I think you're going to burn me if I touch you again, so you need to keep walking, Sam."

Sam listened to what she said and didn’t know how to respond as he continued to walk down the hallway. His shirt, which was now covered in sweat, was starting to get warmer and it almost felt like the shirt itself was on fire. Sam stopped again feeling the heat rise through his throat and started to cough it out but when he did his shirt caught fire, at first Sam thought it was another hallucination but his body reacted and off the shirt went. Once the shirt was thrown to the ground the fire died out almost instantly. Freaked out Sam started to up his pace down the hall, for some reason his body felt lighter than it has every been before.
Sam was almost sure Lee was a hallucination but for some reason seeing her there gave him some comfort. Continuing to walk faster and faster sway down the hallway from left to right Sam called out to Lee, “I’m s…” Sam started to cough out some Steam again, “orry.”
Getting to a fork in the hallway Sam couldn’t remember which way to go was it left or right. “Which way, which way…” Sam mumbled not sure which way to go. He was over heating and disoriented and those two were having a toll on his sense of direction.
Lee was following along behind Sam as he slowly made his way toward the Infirmary, pausing every so often to lean against the wall and cough. No, not just to simply cough, but to cough out steam and smoke.
This was most definitely not good. She was putting herself, her baby, at risk by staying here. No, more than that, she was putting everyone in the mansion at risk by exposing herself to Haywire.
Part of her mind, small though it was, was telling Lee it'd be a risk to leave Sam too. What would happen if he didn't make it to the infirmary on his own? Plus, she had already been exposed, she'd been right beside him, touched him. At least if she went with him to the infirmary, not only would she know for sure that he made it, but she could get checked out too.
And then Lee saw Sam's shirt catch on fire, and she stopped dead, her eyes wider than she could remember them going, as she watched the man tear his shirt off and throw it onto the floor. What the hell was that, Lee couldn't help but wonder as she watched Sam start off again.
Swaying back and forth as he walked. And...apologized? "You don't need to be sorry, Sam," Lee said softly, closing the distance that had formed between them as he had continued to walk. But her brow was furrowed in confusion and curiosity. What in the world did he think he needed to apologize for?
Next thing she knew, Sam had come to a stop again, only this time it was where the hallway branched off in two directions. Coming up beside him, Lee heard Sam murmuring to himself, asking which way.
"I thought you were the one who was supposed to show me around here," Lee said, her voice so much calmer than she was feeling, as she reached her hand out to lightly grip Sam's elbow to direct him the right way. His skin was hot, very much so, but not quite burning, so Lee kept her hand there as she guided Sam down the hall.

Sam disoriented and sweating up a storm sat there debating which way to go, he has been down this hall so many times but he couldn’t think straight. Sam become frustrated and started to get more worked up, until he felt a hand placed on his elbow followed by a voice, "I thought you were the one who was supposed to show me around here,"
Sam jumped a little as the hand touched him but he didn’t shrug it away, in fact he embraced it, and it was like an ice pack on his skin. He voice cam out calmer than it felt all night, “Your real, what are you doing her Lee?” Sam was in utter shock he thought the Lee following him around was nothing more than an illusion. He then responded to Lee’s comment, “Well I kinda don’t know where I am right now and seeing you here I have no idea what’s going on and I…” Sam pulled away from Lee and braced himself against a wall and coughs some more this time the steam filled the room with each cough.
The room reminded him of one of those rock concerts where you paid a bunch of money for tickets but couldn’t see anything cause there was to much fog.
Sam stopped coughing now sweating more and more he looked to Lee, “Hope this isn’t contagious.” He added a small laugh and coughed a little. “Maybe I should hurry to the Doc’s.” Sam slowly mad his way down the hall feeling lighter and lighter than before.
Lee felt Sam jump when she touched him, but he didn't pull away. Not that that sort of reaction was really surprising coming from him; when they had first met, she had been so hesitant about touching him at all that it was probably a surprise that she was touching him now, in the condition that he was in.
And as Sam started speaking, Lee could hear the shock in his voice as he asked what she was doing there. "Of course I'm real, Sam," Lee said. "I'm taking you to see DocProf." Wasn't that obvious? She'd already told him as much. Though, Lee wasn't sure that's exactly what Sam had been asking.
By this time, Sam was pulling away from her again, bracing himself against the wall as he started coughing out steam. More of it this time, so that the hallway became warmer, moister, harder to see through.
Finally, he stopped coughing and stood straight again, looking over at her. And joked about how he hoped he wasn't contagious. "You better hope you're not," Lee said, a small glare directed at Sam as he started walking once again. "No one wants to risk me getting sick..."
Closing her eyes for a moment as she walked, Lee swallowed. It was too late now, she'd been exposed, it was only a matter of time to find out whether she'd been infected too. "So yeah, we'd better hurry up and get there. We're both going to need checked out now," Lee continued, her voice still quiet.
Another couple steps, the whole while Lee was thinking. Should she tell Sam about why she was there? Well, there really was no reason to hide it; anyone in the school, teacher or student, could tell him, after all.
"We're living here now," Lee finally said into the quiet, her hand resting on her stomach again as she walked along with Sam. "Tarin's teaching."

"We're living here now," Lee finally said into the quiet, her hand resting on her stomach again as she walked along with Sam. "Tarin's teaching."
Sam was a little surprised, “Wow I have been out of it for a while, what’s he teaching here.” Sam smiled a painfully smile as she told what they have been doing here, “thought bout teaching, don’t have it in me could never do homework and I would probably fall asleep in class.” Sam walked and stopped when he needed to. “So what have you been…” Sam coughed a little, “ up to.”
Sam sighed in relief as they were almost at the infirmary. He really needed to see what was up with this crazy heat way. Ideas rushed to Sam head, were it a new ability, or were it a virus only he could have, or worse a curse. From all the things Sam has seen and done this sickness was the worst he has ever felt.
Lee saw the weirdness that was in Sam's smile when she told him that her and Tarin were living there at the mansion. Yeah, because as if this wasn't a bad enough situation already, she had to go ahead and cue the awkwardness. Just what they needed to add to everything.
"He's teaching psychology," Lee said, then shrugged slightly. The joking seemed extremely wrong, but at the same time it seemed to be keeping her panic level from skyrocketing. "He probably has fallen asleep in class before. Meditating. That's what he'd probably say, since he used that when he fell asleep with a client there when we still had the shop."
And then there was the big question, what had she been doing. This was wrong, this was so wrong. Sam needed to get to the infirmary, they now both needed to be checked out for Haywire, and yet they were playing catch up after the years they hadn't seen each other as they made their way down the hallway? Wrong, wrong, wrong.
"We need to hurry and get to DocProf," Lee said instead of answering. "We both need to be checked out, and'll probably be put in quarantine. We could catch up there, except it'd probably be safer if I were completely separate from everyone." As she spoke, each and every word, the panic grew stronger in Lee. Trying her hardest, she hoped that it wasn't leaking out into her voice. She knew she wasn't successful with keeping the panic out of her eyes, though, but it was dark, harder to see.

When Sam heard quarantine he looked to Lee with al the surprise he could muster, quarantine would mean licked up. Sam wasn’t a fan of being locked up, even if it meant he was going to die Sam would do it just to avoid being locked up. Sam didn’t think he was that sick, but maybe Lee knew something he didn’t.
Sam wonder down the hall holding back the coughs as long as he could then they would erupt in explosive ones. This pain was getting annoying, so a look of joy cam upon his face when he saw the doors the infirmary. “Looks like we are here Lee, so why do u think…” Sam coughed a little as steam came out hotter and more-dense than ever before, “why do you think we need to quarantined?”

Lee simply raised her eyebrows in surprise when Sam asked why they'd need to be quarantined. Why? Didn't he know, couldn't he have figured that out?
"Why?" Lee repeated out loud this time, her head cocking to the side slightly as she looked over at Sam. "Haywire." Lee said, her voice cracking slightly, the one word more than enough of an explanation in her mind. "I mean, look at you..."
But by this time they had walked into the infirmary. A room which, over the last couple months, had become very familiar to Lee thanks to her visits every other day as she insisted on having her baby checked out to make sure everything was still alright. And, though it was the middle of the night, the place really didn't look any different since the lights were still on.
DocProf was nowhere in sight. Not that that particularly bothered Lee, at least not initially. She'd actually be more worried if DocProf had been up and around at this time.
"You should probably sit," Lee told Sam as she walked into the room. She may not have any sort of medical training, but she had been in the infirmary often enough at this point that she had a good idea where most things were kept. "I'll get you some cold clothes then find the Doc," she continued, making her way over to a nearby counter. Opening a cupboard, Lee pulled down a small pile of white towels and turned the cold water tap on in the sink. Hopefully it'd help. It was about all she was able to do at that point.

Sam let out a muffled laugh as and then started to cough, “Haywire? This isn’t haywire, if it is it isn’t the same one as a had before.” He then thought about it for a second, this doesn’t really feel like hay wire right? Unless the virus can evolve and have the opposite effect of his power.
Sam thought about the haywire virus and how it felt, and it felt nothing like this, he felt completely different. When he was affected with haywire he could still think straight and still had some idea what was going on. Also his newest ability helped him and his friends greatly, whenever he was in trouble mentally or physically Sam’s powers would call open his ice golems. Those seven personally helped him gain back control after he lost it, so if this was the haywire virus where were they now?
"I'll get you some cold clothes then find the Doc,"
Sam sat then laid down on one of the infirmary beds, he closed his eyes trying to figure out was wrong with him, he never felt warm so what could it be, he has never felt like this before, maybe DocProf can figure it out.
Sam waited till Lee got back with the cold towels before he asked, “Wheres the Doc?”
