The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Hunter was informed of the two incoming mutants, one a woman with flight capabilities and the other a young girl with unknown abilities. He would meet the pair in person, and so was in the vehicle bay waiting for their arrival. The wait wasn’t long.
The four jeeps raced into the bay before screeching to a halt. Once the jeeps had stopped the soldiers disembarked and snapped salutes at Hunter, which he returned with a nod. Focusing his attention on the girls he gave them a warm smile. “Hello,” he said in a welcoming tone of voice, “I am Hunter Antonescu, and this is my facility. You will both be safe here.”

The ride to their new destination was uneventful as the soldiers kept looking for threats oustide the vehicles. There wasn't much conversation going on either. It was almost as if the line of black jeeps where shrouded in silence.
When they arrived at the facility and the vehicles stopped one of the soldiers opened the door for Ali and Katrina. There was a man waiting for them. He introduced himself but Ali didn't recognize his name. You'd think someone with this kind of operation would be more popular she thought.
Ali looked around the vehicle bay for a moment as Hunter spoke before turning her gaze to his. "You can call me Ali. I do have a curious question for you Hunter. Why are you helping us? Are you a mutant as well? I ask because your men just seem to be regular humans." She searched his face to gauge his reaction.
The first thing Commodore Pink Puff did when the racing jeeps screeched to their respective halts: fear for his life. Katrina, ah, seemed alarmingly close to gripping him a little too uncomfortably tightly. One minute the girl was whispering funny commentaries about adults in his ear, the next minute she was tightening up her grip. Granted that the screeching-to-a-halt thing was fairly alarming, but not alarming enough to crush the ribs of a small light red bird over.
The second thing he did: delicately--but with a manly air, mind you--flutter up to perch on the shoulder of one Hunter Antonescu. He would pay for this later. Yes, he would. But for now: he was willing to bet that the Scary Boss Man wasn't going to slaughter a cute li'l parakeet in front of a cute li'l tweenager. He glanced slyly over at his employer, and chirriped his respects.
When the jeeps screeched to a halt, Katrina was glad she had remembered to wear her seatbelt. As she jerked forward, her fingers involuntarily clenched just a little around the delicate pink parakeet. Katrina was instantly worried she had hurt him. So worried that she didn’t instantly notice that her oboe had slid off the seat and onto the floor.
It soon became apparent that Pinky was all right, because he took off and landed on the shoulder of a well-dressed man with a ponytail and chirruped in his ear. Something about the man made Katrina think “politician”. She’d seen enough of them in her life to know recognize the cut of the suit and the “I’m-an-upstanding-citizen” posture. Then again, she had never seen a politician with a ponytail.
Katrina climbed out of the car, smoothed out her dress, and retrieved her oboe from its position on the floor between the seats. She suddenly felt rather underdressed in her silky bathrobe and the dress she had worn all day yesterday and slept in under a bed. Why hadn’t she insisted on changing her clothes- or at least packing some other clothes- before they left?
“Hello,” the pony-tailed man greeted them with a warm smile. He had very white teeth- an attribute prized by many politicians. “I am Hunter Antonescu, and this is my facility. You will both be safe here.”
Katrina looked around the garage- if you could call it that. If this was the garage, the rest of the “facility” must be huge! Katrina was pretty sure several small houses could have fit inside. What actually was inside was cars- lots and lots of cars. Many seemed to be like the black jeeps they had arrived in, there were others were even more military, there was at least one limousine, and there were some other cars that were of considerably more interest. Cars that would be fun to drive in. Especially if you had a long ponytail.
The flying lady, Ali brought Katrina’s attention back to the conversation at hand. "You can call me Ali,” she told Mr. Ponytail. “I do have a curious question for you Hunter. Why are you helping us?” Are you a mutant as well? I ask because your men just seem to be regular humans."
Katrina wondered how the woman could tell that Mr. Kane and the other Men In Black weren’t mutants. It seemed to Katrina anyone could be a mutant without you knowing about it. Even your mother. Even you. She awaited Mr. Hunter Ponytail’s response with a curious expression on her face.
Hunter didn’t so much as bat an eye lid as Calley landed on his shoulder. Where he facing the troops then he would have swatted Calley aside, but as he was talking to two people he needed to convince that he was a nice person, having the parakeet on his shoulder gave him the right image.
“Let us just say that I am strongly opposed to this bill for reasons of self interest,” he answered Ali’s question. While it wasn’t a categorical ‘Yes I am a mutant’ it was leaning towards that. “I have quarters prepared for, I can either have you brought to them or we can go and have some breakfast.”

The man seemed pretty sincere when he spoke his mind about the registration bill. Even though he didn't admit or deny being mutant Ali let it go for now. At the moment mutants needed as much help as possible.
"That's a good enough reason for me...for now." Ali looked to Katrina as she didn't know if the girl was hungry or not. She wasn't trying to make the younger girl feel like a child but truth be told she pretty much was as far as present company was concerned.
"Thank you for your hospitality Hunter. Some breakfast sounds pretty good right about now."

Nicki sighed as she and Kaz pulled up to the Labs. Nicki knew that this was the base of Kaz's boss, Mr. Antonescu, but that was basically all the information she had. She knew that Mr. Antonescu could protect his employees and seemed to have some sort of vested interest in the mutants in general. She was confused...and that was a feeling she wasn't used to.
As Nicki got out of Kaz's Hummer (that man had more cars than most people had pairs of socks) she immediately started looking for Nail. She was worried about him a lot: at least she knew someone in this situation, Nail was all alone. Nicki waited for a moment for Kaz to get out of the car before she started looking around.
Nicki was overwhelmed by happiness as she saw Ali. For a moment she wondered how they got here but quickly dismissed that feeling and allowed herself to just be pleased with the fact that they were okay.
The jeep pulled into the vehicle bay, and drove up next to the group of people. Soldier piled out of it, and Nail was the last one to crawl out, still soggy from standing out in the rain. The first thing he saw was a rather buisnesslike man, with a pink parakeet on his shoulder, making him seem like some very strange flamboyant buissness pirate. The soldiers where lining up and saluting him, and Nail also saw two girls addressing him. He recognised the taller one as Ali. She had been involoved in the x-men tryout with him.
Nail noticed Kaz's hummer, along with Kaz and Nicki. He waved to them, and made his way towards thier apparent host. Though he really didn't know much about the situation, it wasn't anything new. Nail had long gotten used to going about without knowing where he was going to end up. He had been on his own for a long time, and had gotten use to being alone. Running from angry people was nothing new either. He wasn't a legal alien, and he had possible murder charges on him. Needless to say, he was good at avoiding trouble, and keeping his mutant lineage from getting him in any more trouble than he needed.
This guy, who was apparently named hunter, seemed pretty smart. And rich, definetly rich. He had organised a small army, and apparently had 'quarters' prepared for them. It was about when breakfast was mentioned that he realised how hungry and tired he was. He had been up, all night and hadn't eaten supper. He guaged himself, and decided her was more hungry than he was tired, but knew he would probably end up passing out within the next five hours.
Katrina was glad when the discussion turned toward breakfast. She seemed to always be hungry these days. She was about to reply that she too would like breakfast when she was interrupted by the arrival of two more vehicles.
The girl that got out of the Hummer seemed happy to see Ali, so Katrina assumed they must know each other. The other new arrivals included a curly, blonde haired young man and some more of the soldier-types that had picked up Ali, Commodore Pink Puff, and Katrina. There was also someone who looked like he had stepped right out of a video game, a man with silver hair, red eyes, and pointed ears. For once Katrina didn’t have to wonder if someone was a mutant. It seemed that it was true that more and more mutants were coming to this safe haven Mr. Ponytail had provided.
In any case, Katrina’s stomach would no longer be ignored. It emitted a growl that sounded more like it came from a tiger than a twelve-year-old girl. “Will there be pancakes?” Katrina asked hopefully.
(OOC: Nicki, Calley is currently a parakeet on my shoulder, so you wouldn’t recognise him)
IC: Hunter was about to lead them towards the canteen when more people arrived. He recognised Kaz the moment the boy’s vehicle shot into the lab. The girl with him could only be Nicki. Following came the soldiers along with Sentinel, who he recognised from Calley’s training video.
“Well, now that everyone is here I suggest that we go and get something to eat,” he said with a pleasant smile to his guests, “If you will all follow me.” Turning on his heel he headed off into the labs.
Behind Katrina Corporal Kane smiled at her question. “The pancakes here are some of the best I’ve had,” he assured her, “and there are as many as you can eat.”
