The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Gearhead reached the labs in short time after her short meeting with Hunter. She got to the door, slipped inside, making her way to Dr.Ingram's lab. She knocked lightly as she entered. "I'm sorry to intrude Dr.Ingram, but I thought you might like a bit of a pick-me-up." She set the espresso on a table well away from anything important. "Also, Hunter just spoke to me about a project. I might need your assistance with a few experiments." She knew how he didn't like to be bothered, and he had basicly ignored her since she had come to the labs. She'd been getting progressin that area though, he would actually look at her when she spoke...sometimes. "Only if it's really needed of course." With that she backed out of the area and headed towards her lab.
As she entered she moved to a desk off to the side of the main room, where she set all of her food down. The lab was exceptionally clean and organized, except for this desk of hers. It was piled with food napkins and other such things. When she had gotten there a few years ago, it hadn't taken her log to have it slightly changed, having a garbage disposal put in right next to the desk, which would take her trash to some place and get rid of it. She didn't care where it went, as long as it wasn't in her lab. She had also had a low glass wall, two and a half feet high, put in that ran diagnally from wall to wall 'enclosing' her desk. This was done just in case something did spill or fall, which it has never happened, it wouldn't get into her lab area and was easy to clean up.
Dr.Ingram's lab and Gearhead's were nearly exact copies of eachother, as well as the other labs, though those were smaller by comparison. The major differences between Ingram's and Gearhead's were the massive ammout of screens, they were litterally everywhere.
While munching on a slice of pizza, TJ picked up a headset and put it on after putting her headphones on the desk. "Audio. Music. Classical." Immediately soft classical music began to play from unseen speakers. She sat down in her desk chair, which had large arm rests. Tapping a few buttons on it, two holographic type screens appeared in front of her hands. TJ began to tap quickly on the screens as her pizza stayed locked between her teeth. With each tap and tick, the screens around the lab lit up bringing up a different page of information. Most of them had something to do with pheromones, others with genetic receptors, among other things.
She quickly finished her slice of pizza, wiped her hands off with a napkin before waving her hand, the low wall slipped into the floor. Pushing off on the ground Gearhead moved her chair accross the floor towards the center of the screens, as soon as she passed the wall, she waved her hand again and the wall came back up. Gearhead kept right on going along the floor over to a few of the machines set off to the side. Pulling out Hunter's hair from a rolled up napkin, she put it into one of them and turned it on before moving back to the center of the room. "That'll take a bit to decode and analize....In the meantime..." Screens flashed and changed rapidly as Gearhead began to sift through information. .......... ........ ......... ............ ....... ........... ..... .......... .... ............
Gearhead had only been working for a few hours when Hunter got a message asking to meet her. Considering the project he’d just put her on he made his way straight to her lab. With a nod to James, which the doctor just about returned, he went over to Gearhead’s section.
“So, what have you got for me?” he asked. She’d not been working long, that fact that she even had something to show him further reinforced his decision to swipe her from Atlas, especially as Kaz now had complete control over it.

Slightly startled TJ swivled around in her chair. A pad of paper fell to the floor, a pen set between her teeth. Taking it out, "I didn't have to wait long. Is there a reason you're so quiet. Never hear ya comin." She chuckled to herself, she'd figure it out eventually. "No matter." Pushing off on the floor the chair made it's way to the side of the lab. "It's not complete, but I figured something is better than nothin." She lifted up a pen sized cilider. "You're DNA is extremely complex. It'll take more time than I thought. BUT," She stood up and walked over to Hunter. She took his hand and set the tube down. "It won't last long. If you think you'll be meeting up with the person before I finish," She pressed down a small button and a tiny needle appeared, "Inject yourself with it. I can't guarentee that it'll stop her completely, at least until I get her DNA."
Hunter nodded and pocketed the inhibitor. He wasn’t surprised that his DNA was complex, it had taken even James a while to unravel it. “Rather than do what’s already been done you can simply access Dr Ingram’s notes on me. However, this information is highly classified. I have two abilities which are to never leave this room. First, I can absorb mutant powers from their blood. Second, I am exceptionally allergic to wood. Do not repeat those to anyone, understand?” If she didn’t he might have to lose a very valuable employee. He hoped it wouldn’t come to that.

Gearhead shook her head. "Sir, that's not it. I already figured that out. It's how to get a perminant defense that your healing won't get rid of that's the most difficult and complex. Besides," Gearhead moved back to her chair. "Dr.Ingram may be good, but I like to do my own work. Helps me figure things out better it sticks," She tapped her head a bit, "Up here more."
Hunter gave Gearhead a shrewd look. “How long have you had my DNA all figured out and who have you told about it since you have?” he asked, a menacing tone creeping into his voice. While he knew that Gearhead couldn’t be intimidated it was more reflexive than active.

Gearhead mimiced the look Hunter was giving her. "Only since I got your hair earlier." She waved her hand, moved over to her desk and grabbed a snickers. After opening it she took a bite and swallowed. "Unlike some, I don't wag my tongue around moronicly." She looked at Hunter and smiled with a wide grin. "Besides, do you honestly think they'd be able to grasp what I was talking about...Besides Dr.Ingram that is. But as you just said, he already knows this stuff."
Hunter relaxed about a hair. While he had guessed that Gearhead would not blab his secret, he had wanted to be sure. With a curt nod he turned on his heel and said, “Contact me with any developments,” before walking out of the lab.
NES at the Shack is how I first got down, Pops got a job, moved the fam to Sea-town, checkin BBS's for my warez and porn, around this time the mafia was born, spendin mad hours getting buff in lord, get with the tavern ho, show off my long sword, couple years later, hit the Hotline scene, waitin in queue is where I've never been seen, got hooked up with fat accounts, get my shit fast and in large amounts, use my Cyrix chip to cook my meals, laugh all you want, I'll own yo ass at Whacky Wheels, got my emulators and a couple thousand ROMs and all the F-Kiss from blah blah dot com, now we got Torrents and bandwidth up to our necks, looking back's crazy, but I wonder what's next
It had been hours since Hunter left, maybe over a day, Gearhead didn't know. At one point when she had rolled across the floor on her chair she had noticed Dr.Ingram working with someone in a chair, someone who she had never seen before, she thought she saw Hunter, but she wasn't sure, nor did it concern her at that time. She had finished fully analyzing Hunter's DNA, figuring out exactly what his X gene let him do, and other interesting facts. She had even figured out how to get passed his healing ability so the nanios, what she nicknamed her organic nano bots, wouldn't be expelled or destroyed. In essence these specific ones were nearly a part of Hunter. At this time though, she was putting the finishing touching on their programming.
back in the day, Shufflepuck Cafe, banner ads, gettin paid, ICQ, gettin laid, back in the day, we knew Sulu was gay, munchin numbers, runnin lodes, monochrome display
Since she didn't have Syn's DNA yet, and didn't seem like she would any time soon, she had to work with what she knew. Pheromones were picked up by the nasal receptors and transmitted chemical signals to the brain making it react in certain ways. She could have had her nanios cut off the receptors in the nose, but that would complicate other things. Instead she programmed them to link to the natural receptors so they could analyze the signal input. They wouldn't be able to counter the pheromones right away, but after about 30 seconds they'd be able to release their own signals to counteract Syn's.
back in the day, System 7.5, had HyperCard stacks on my SyQuest drive, once I got a modem I was never fuckin bored, always dialin up a BBS to play me some LORD, I stole my school's dial-up to get the internet, had a copy of Ircle and no regrets, chillin in #macfilez, leechin on bots, it took nine years to get a download spot, hours and hours, makin Marathon maps, always on the run cause I set it to caps, eventually I got a brand new Power Mac, so fuckin fast, I almost had a heart attack, ran a Hotline server on my school's T1, "Win Ben Stein's Warez" was the name of that one, Quake 3 Test in the computer lab, never went to class cause that shit was a drag
Without Syn's DNA they wouldn't be able to counteract it 100%, only about 60-70%, so the target would still feel affected but be able to resist if the will was strong enough. Unlike the temporary emergency batch she cooked up for Hunter earlier that only lasted a short time before being destroyed or broken down, these nanios would last forever, powered by the bodies own natural electricity. If the target were to die, they would burn themselves up and decay at an accelerated rate, erasing any trace of them.
back in the day, crusin through the DOS prompt a litte modem action I got anything I want, Blake Stone or some Duke 3D, IPX Lan, dont fuck with me, back in the day we had four buttons man, Gravis GamePad til we lost our tan, ZZT, where I made my first game, shit was mad hot till Click n Play came, up in the attic, it's Jumpin Flash, all day long till a PlayStation crash, pirated Thrill Kill, what a waste of time, now I get why they trashed that crime, we got nerd history, stories for days, spit it how I lived it til this shit pays, so back up off if you question the cred, OG nerds, we'll cut off your head
Of course this was still specific to Hunter since that was her main goal, not to mention his was the only DNA sample she had at the time. Sure she could have gotten a sample from Dr.Ingram, but she didn’t feel like bothering him, he seemed like he was busy with something, he always was, and it wasn’t that pressing of a matter.
back in the day, shit was the best, I pirated Duke Nukem off a BBS, a pimp with a 486 dx, deuce, double piped to increase my juice, Halloween Harry and Commander Keen, nowadays, it seems like a wonderful dream up in school, I'm on the LC 2s, used the backdoor to drop right outta Foolproof then one day, there was the internet, and anything I wanted, I could easily get, anytime I wanted A-double-P-Z, just connect to H-O-T-L-I-N-E click the banner, fourth word, seventh line, log in and anything I wanted was mine, I started up a server called "Industrial Strength," and got sued by the R-I-double-A, but I was born into a new world of computers, and we became the new generation of looters,
Through the course of her work, she made generic defense nanios that anyone and everyone could use. Unlike DNA specific nanios, in the best conditions and best bonding with the target, these would be 50% effective, more likely though, they’d be 35-45% effective, the rest would be dependant on the targets willpower. Not the best of odds, but that’s what comes with ‘generic’.
"But I said it before, and I'll say it again, it's like bein high just rememberin." She took a bite of a snickers as she finished her work and leaned back in her chair.

Alone again. TJ was bored at the moment, not having much to do. She hadn't gotten too much information about the Stalkers and her Anti-Syn defense was basically at a hault until she got a sample of the woman's DNA. The woman had spent the last half hour spinning in her chair, taking half glances at the many monitors placed around her lab, all the while listening to multiple stations from the XM radio. Progress on her bio-suit had haulted for the moment after she had gotten a bad feedback reaction when she tested the glove. Sighing, "Damned nervous system, so sensitive. Maybe some morphine would help." She giggled with the thought of being hyped up on morphine.
Her legs dropped to the floor and dragged accross the floor for a moment as she saw a blacked out monitor blink to life, showing a picture of the large red man from the meeting outside. "Ooooh....Wonder what's up..." Mentally Gearhead switched on another black monitor to find out where Dr.Ingram was. "Not in the lab, oh well."
She opened her lab door without getting up from her chair. Rolling across the floor, out her lab, she made her way towards the door. Stopping she began to spin in place again while she made the door open. "Helloooooooooo there. Ya lost?"
Vibe stuck her tongue out at Venus' smart-alec reply. At least, she imagined she was. "Then consider that a rain check Funny Guy."
“He better be nervous. I don’t like don’t trust him and would love to have the chance to smash that overconfident face of his.”
“but seriously, on business level he must be worried he has a bunch of people coming together that aren’t going to work well together in his house. It’d be like inviting rival gangs to a sleep over. And if not we could always help it along.”
Vibe chuckled. "Can't have a sleepover without a few pranks, now can we?"
Several muted sounds reverberated through the darkness, too warped for Vibe to make out. Kind of like someone speaking through water while she wore earplugs.... But she thought someone, or someones, were talking. She focused, trying to make out words.
"Hey Vibe are we going with the recorder or the I pod Idea?"
"Huh? Oh! Meh, whatever's smallest, something that can be hidden easily." She continued to sort through the noises she was picking up on. Was she hearing noises from outside, or from the clones?
Gearhead looked up at the giant of a man. "Well Big Red," TJ stiffled a laugh, "You're both correct and wrong at the same time. Dr.Ingram does most of the high end medical stuff, as well as some tech stuff. But, Dr. Jackson," Gearhead twisted around in her chair, when she was facing Abyss once again she pointed at herself, "That'd be me. I deal with a lot of tech things."
Twisting in the chair side to side a bit, moving herself with her toe, she put a hand to her chin and made a 'hmmmm' sound while giving Abyss a curious look. "So someone needs something'eh? You? No...you said for one of your members...." Gearhead went back in her mind remembering the Order members. She didn't think the others would come asking for help, and the only one who seemed..incomplete was the redheaded girl. "The Mute one no?"
"Hey, Vibe I am talking to one of the techs did you want to come out and join in? also what all should I explain?"
Vibe mentally frowned a bit. She didn't trust Hunter or, by extention, anyone who worked for the man. So she didn't want to give away too much. Then again, she thought glumly, she couldn't really do much either, so what was the harm?
"Just ask if he has anything I can record things with. Or maybe something that can translate vibrations, like morse code, into speech. And yeah, I guess I'll come out." She wasn't sure why, but she just had a feeling the big red man was tired and, oddly enough, she didn't want to be a burden.
Gearhead took Abyss' hand when he offered it. TJ listened to Abyss. "Hmm...Well Abyss. To be honest I'm not quite sure if I have anything like that premade." She shut her mouth as a black voidish thing appeared and a red-headed woman stepped out. TJ recognized her immediately. "OH! That was cool! Did you do that or did you?" She looked from Vibe to Abyss as she spoke. She held out her hand to Vibe, "Dr. Jackson at your service." She didn't know if Vibe had heard her or not, but it was always a nice thing to introduce yourself to someone you meet. "I'm sure I can come up with something, but...I'm curious. Why do you need something to help you talk now? Did you loose your voice just recently?"
"Ok Vibe will do, when you exit go toward the light, it'll make sense in a second."
Hmm... didn't people usually tell you to stay away from the light?
Once back on solid ground, Vibe's eyes crossed for a moment as she regained her balance. The void wasn't disorienting; it was the crossing from one place to another that threw her off.
"OH! That was cool! Did you do that or did you? Dr. Jackson at your service."
She blinked several times to uncross her eyes, and found a hand extended in her direction. A female hand. For some reason she had assumed that the 'techie' was a man. But she recognized the girl from the Resistance meeting. Still a bit disoriented, she shook the girl's hand, when normally she would have stayed aloof.
"I'm sure I can come up with something, but...I'm curious. Why do you need something to help you talk now? Did you loose your voice just recently?"
Vibe gave her a quick once over, still uneasy about asking one of Hunter's people for help. Even though Dr. Jackson seemed friendly enough, Vibe had an ingrained distrust for people in general. However, if she wanted to get her sister back, she was going to need help. And if this girl could help.....
Unable to do much, again, other than make signs, she shook her head no in answer to Dr. Jackson's last question. She pointed to her throat, where the voicebox would be, and shook her head again, then shrugged. She let Abyss explain the rest, and used the time to examine Dr. Jackson a bit closer. There was a strange 'vibe' coming from her that she couldn't quite peg down. Almost like.... well.... Vibe wasn't sure. But she noticed that the girl couldn't seem to stop moving. Was she on a caffine high? Or a drug high? Or just a mutant-related high?
