The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

(Ooc: Nice done Hades, but Keep in mind it's Not Mandian, but Mandain, people get that often wrong )
Ic: Mandain didn;t have any remembrance what happened, only that he collapsed. His head was bouncing like a mad man, and of course Horus was worried, more then ever, if his host would die there would be no return for him. "Oke, are you Mandain?" " I'm fine" Mandain lied to Horus, he wasn't fine at all. Some minutes later and he would have been dead. Now laying on a bench Mandain sat up, seeing Hades and Kaz. Kaz he didn't really know, but who cared. "Fast work doc. thanks, could you make some pills with the anti venom so this won't happen again? Would be great" Mandain laughed the pain off, but it still hurt, the down fall wasn't that soft either. "Oh, I acutely came here to pick up my bike and give it a ride, you think I will be able to soon?"
((OOC Continued from Catching a Stalker, and I hope you guys don’t mind me butting in))
She strolled, somewhat idly, to the workshop, whose precise locations she was hoping to find with the aid of fluke. She seemed to be doing rather well specially considering that her mind was either wondering what she was about to receive or was preoccupied by the plan that were still swarming around in her head. And there it was, a neat little sign that indicated that her luck had held, admittedly it had taken the appearance of a patient assistant but that was a trivial detail. And so, not waiting for an answer to her swift knock, she proceeded inwards, only to find that it was rather busy. In order to announce herself and to find out whether this was a bad time she spoke: “If you’re too busy I can come back later to collect my new ‘toys’ ”. She let it hung, and was rather hopeful that she would be allowed to collect immediately since a new toy would be exactly the distraction she needed.

Kaz listened to Hades explain more about the board and the controls. As the man finished, Kaz had a few more questions he wanted to ask, though he didn't the chance as Mandain, came in and fell to the floor. Before he could think to react, the room seemed to come alive. He wasn't sure what the hell was going on, but he did pick up one thing: Poison. That was interesting, and needed to be addressed. As soon as Hades had taken care of the man, "You were telling me about the board, but first, the computer said poison. What poison? If it's possible, I need to know if it was a foreign toxin or created by his body. If foreign, we need to figure out where it came from, if not, I need to know why he's poisoning himself and if I can trust this won't happen again. I'm not going to allow him to participate in any missions if he's going to be a liability."
Mandain came-to very quickly and asked for pills to stop the poison, and asked about a bike. <Internal.> He thought, as Nox entered the room. “If you’re too busy I can come back later to collect my new ‘toys’.”
Shaking his head slightly, "Not at all Nox, seems we're all here for the same reason." Turning back to Hades, "I have a few more questions, but since they may be complicated to answer, I'll wait."

“Hello Nox please give me a second.” said Hades as he turned to Kaz and Mandain.
“Kaz I will have the answer for you in a bit but I suspect that it is internal, at least the antidote is not too complicated, but the one that I gave him is temporary. Poison is also one of my specialities, otherwise I would not have been able to mix up an antidote so soon, and he would now be in a stasis cell induced coma. Stasis cell puts the patient in a suspended coma, and is able to almost freeze the patient in every possible way for a limited period of time while emergency procedures are being done to save his/her life, I am currently designing a stasis field emitter for battle field medics.”
Turning to Mandain he said “About the antidote, well poisons are my speciality but not medicine, I will see what I can come up with but I will have to have a chat with Dr. Ingram. Please sit back as I run a few more scans on you. As for your bike it is ready and I am sure you will like it but if you don’t mind, Ladies first.” He said indicating Nox.
“Now Nox.” Said Hades pulling out a drawer, at the same time a three dimensional hologram of the gear was projected into the air in front of Nox showing schematics and detail as hades spoke about each item.
“This is what I designed for you, first come the gloves, project light or heat into the glove and out of each finger comes a short beam of laser, it is only effective up to a range of 10 cm. It is intense enough that you can use it to climb anything, possibly even stalkers, it will cut through anything bar adamantaim, I intended it for defensive as well as infiltration purposes, as when you put them on your fingers effectives become a short blade.
Next come the brace of throwing knives. The knives you will notice that they all have a small hole in the end. If you project enough light into the hole the blade becomes tipped with laser, and I put the hole in the bottom so to increase the range if you choose to throw it. Try it and see what you think. There is a thick metal wall there and a series of solid steel targets for you to try them out over there in that booth.”
Turning to Kaz he said “From the readout it seems that Mandain has poison in his body, it is not foreign. Also for the board, the bracelet is mostly for summoning the board and programming the specifics of the different modes, I usually select the modes or tell it to do things using the glove here, I have set it so that you can set the actions that you want for each function of the board, if there are any more questions please ask me.”
Turning to Mandain “Now for you bike, please come this way.” Hades led Mandain into the vehicle bay and in front of them stood a wicked looking bike. “Let me explain, it is a fast bike, not amazingly fast though as I had to sacrifice speed for some of the more ‘special’ features. Firstly you start the bike by placing your hand on the handlebars or the ignition position and forming a small ion ball.
Next, the bike has a total of 6 auto tracking auto rotating turrets, three in the front and three at the back, two of the turrets in the front and back can also cover your sides so you have full protection, but it is the middle turret at each end that should give you the most interest, as it is an Ion cannon. Feel free to fire ion blasts at your bike as all the ions will be channelled to storage tanks at the front and back of the bike. Then when the cannons fire, they shoot your ions down an acceleration ladder to give it more punch. Other than that is is pretty much a normal bike, with a small self recharging nox unit. So what do you think?”
It was clear Hades was a specialist as he explained, but making the medicine would be a different task, he had to discuss it with some Dr. Ingram, who that was? No idea, but that didn't matter, as long as the medicine would be made. "Yeah, would be great, but uhm, one thing, I can only last a day without it, like today I ran out of pills, and irresponsible of me not to mention this earlier" Kaz wasn't to keen on what happened, and asked questions like where the poison came from. Luckily Mandain didn't have to hold a speech about it, Hades did it for him.
The Doctor directed himself to Mandain again, escorting him to the vehicle bay. It wasn't a long walk, but the hit on the ground caused some pain and walking was a bit slower, but time would heal that. Hades revealed the bike, it was fully armed with guns, and even Ion. Mandain's day got a bit brighter. Hades fully explained the ins and outs of the bike. "Wauw, this go's beyond my imagination doc., I'm speechless, Thanks." With a broad smile Mandain went for the bike and seated himself. It felt good, even Horus was glad. When Horus had spend some time outside, in control of the body, he had seen these fascinating transportation devices, and it was a lot better then camels, well, not that he used them back in Egypt, but still. "Nice very, Nice very" Yes Horus was excited.
As Mandain got on the bike, he put his hands on the handlebars and lit his hands with ion. "Wauw, amazing sound" The bike started perfectly. "If you don't mind may I try out my toy" Mandain was just like a little child who couldn't wait to play with his new toy.
Kaz’s words confirmed what she had presumed - they were all here with the same purpose. The purpose being for equipment, though at least in her opinion, it was more of a case of receiving a new toy than, as it could be for others, a necessary item. She had nodded in response to Kaz’s welcome though her attention was quickly caught when Hades went straight to the point. Gloves that could project laser beams, daggers which were practically unstoppable – no complaints on her part. In fact, she believed these ‘extras’ might not only come in especially useful but also be, well, fun. She knew very well that a small smile had captured the corner of her mouth, but with her eagerness for a test run she didn’t chase it away. When Hades then suggested that she should do just that, she was more than happy to oblige. Having collected her toys, she quickly replied, “Perfect, and if you would excuse me for awhile”, before making a direct path to the testing booth.
The gloves felt surprisingly normal and seemed to be nothing out of the ordinary, they wouldn’t stay that way too long. Well, no time like the present. She hardly needed to send out her awareness as she simply called the energy from the nearest light bulb directly into the gloves. The effect was immediate. From the fingertips of her right head, which she had held in front of her, small intense beams of blue light were being emitted. What she had failed to remember was that similar beams were now being emitted from her left hand and so searing put of the stool that had been idly left next to the entrance to the booth. Hastily stepping inside the booth and therefore away from any other obstacles, she approached the thick metal wall before her. She quickly dismissed the childish idea of engraving “Nox was here” forever more in the wall. Instead she simply held up the three middle fingers of her right hand, and slowly drew them, from about 7cm away, downwards. The blue laser bit into the metal, and left three vertical parallel lines. She had left her mark after all it seemed.
Being satisfied with the gloves, she slipped them off and instead picked up the set of throwing knives. She was even more excited about these, and as she inspected them she noted their fine-tuning, and excellent weight – they would do very well indeed. She sent three in quick succession towards the steel target, for each one remembering to channel light into the hole. The blur of the now blue tipped blades as they spun through the air were slightly mesmerising and had a nice effect, though more impressive by far was how they lodged themselves into steel targets – she had never had knives like this

Hades keyed in a code. “Mandain the door on your left leads to a training course, that will test your aiming skills as well as riding skills, have fun!”
As a door slid open from the wall to Mandain’s left.
“Nox, if you can suggest any improvements or have any ideas for some new gadgets then please tell me, and Kaz what was your question again? If you have none then ill just get back to work for now.”
(Ooc: Sorry that I'm god modding for you a bit Hades, but I'd like to move on a bit )
Ic:
Mandain looked around and saw a shelf with some leather protection to wear on the bike. He got of the bike and put the gear on. Nice purple, and it even had a logo on it, how strange, the eye of Horus was in the print, the print was an arrow with a rose, and the eye of Horus, all in purple while and black. Mandain took a helmet of the shelf and put it on. He gave a look to wards Hades. Hades nodded with a laugh and Mandain was set to go. He got on, and drove away when the doors were opened. Mandain looked back and waved at the rest while accelerating. "Whoeoeoeoe" You could,'t really hear the sound since the helmet was blocking most of the sound, but it was clear Mandain was having fun, something he didn't had till now. "Let's go see how everything is in New York" Mandain moved swiftly with the bike. A road block was put on, to check for mutants. This wasn't gone be a problem. Mandain throttled some more as he heard the sound of Horus not liking the idea of charging threw the road block. "It's all or nothing" Full throttle, cops pulling out guns and screaming, and Ion, lots of Ion shots were fired. The guards that were in the way got hit, and paralyzed. Some shots were fired at the bike, but Mandain was in full focus so putting up his shield was no problem. While shots were fired from the back, they were reflected by the shield and redirected to the shooting officers, who could just dodge in time. Mandain continued riding, off the New York. How fun this all was, it was all just a simulation, Horus had no idea of what it was, but when Mandain explained him it was all a fake he was beginning to like it. The simulation did his thing, enjoying Mandain and Horus for some hours.
Nox returned with a rather rare genuine smile, and was already planning how to incorporate her new toys into her fighting style. Other than the absence of Mandain she noted no other relevant changes, though it seemed Hades was eager to get rid of them, which was understandable. Any improvements? None that she could think of at the moment. A shadow of an idea darkened part of her mind, examining these possibilities she realised there was one question she would like answered: “What happens to the light I channel in to turn it into a laser?” It was moments like this she realised her ignorance, if something didn’t affect her she knew nothing of it. History meant nothing more than a few stories. Geography was meaningless, there was simply the countries she knew she had been to, and even their relationship to each other was vague. Science, if not related to electromagnetic spectrum, more closely resembled magic. Music was simply a concept, and only very basic mathematical skills were known to her. Occasionally, like now, she longed for that knowledge, but it was only momentary, since reality soon pushed such foolish desires away – learning was a luxury that she couldn’t afford as long as she had to fight to survive, which she would have to do her whole life. Snapping back to the present she waited to hear his response, she was intrigued whether these possibilities that swarmed in her mind could ever become substantial.

“Well The creation/conversion of laser takes many steps and is a complex process. That process can be easily made, but the problem is to get a source of power or light that is normally what makes modern day lasers so big and bulky. You may or may not have noticed, but the more light you put in at the same rate, the brighter the laser gets and the better it cuts. To make a laser basically you have to polarize the light, that is the first step, then you need to focus and concentrate and go through a whole series of steps. These steps can vary by a huge amount depending on what type of laser you want to generate. But alas I fear I bore you.” Said Hades, smiling with a slight twinkle in his eye.
Polarize? Oh well. The idea’s roots shrivelled as they meet reality, but since it had been nor more than a flicker of an idea it was no devastating set back she simply have to find others ways to progress. His last comment brought a gleam of humour to her eyes – bore her? He did the opposite; the matter of light and how she could control its various aspects intrigued her. Though she had become aware of her ignorance once more, otherwise she was content, she had after all just been given a new project to work on – How to combine these toys with the rest of my fighting? Hmmmmm….In order that he might understand, and to take her leave, since she was eager to spend more time testing her toys, she replied: “Not at all, I was simply wondering wether it would be possible for me to create the laser without any equipment. Thank you for indulging my curiosity, as well as creating my latest toys.” And with a curt nod to the man, who had previously tried to kill her but now seemed rather useful, she left.

Hades suddenly had a flash of inspiration. “Nox, what you said, it might me possible, but IF it is possible, it will a) possible take a very very long time, and b)take a lot of high intensity training. I cannot guarantee anything, but if you want I can try to work with you. You Game?” Hades raised a hand to pause any reply. “Don’t answer me just yet, give it a think over as this is no laughing matter. Tell me your response tomorrow at the briefing here for the mission. (Preperation: Operation Skeletons of the Closet) See you. Have fun with your new toys!”
And with that Hades re-submerged himself in his research. In seconds he was obscured by projected screens of data.
Aidan was eating a meal in the Canteen when the thought that there had to be someone at the Labs who could help him control the level of charge in his body occurred to him. He immediately posed the question to some of the guards and was told that a man named Hades was a whiz when it came to building and making contraptions for mutants and that if Aidan wanted something made he should go see him. After asking the guards for directions Aidan went off in search of Hade’s Workshop. It took him a good ten minutes to make the short trip from the canteen to the workshop. Upon arriving outside the door, Aidan knocked on it twice and waited for someone to answer.

((OOC: Hades I know you have the link up there, but I think I remember you telling me to post this here in the workshop. If you want me to post it in the other thread, let me know, I'll cut and paste))
(Set a couple of days after Hades had unveiled Kaz's board.)
After testing out and getting the hang of the board and bracelet controller, Kaz came to appreciate Hades all the more. It was a great invention, it handled perfectly. Kaz was becoming more daring in his tests with the board. Though it didn't take him long to note the one major flaw. It was controlled by the bracelet, which meant he had to occupy both arms and hands to control the board. This just would not do.
He wasn't about to walk in on Hades with this news, so he wrote the man a short message, and sent it as an electronic memo, detailing his concern about the bracelet controls. He also made a comment about speaking through a microphone or other sort of communications device while moving at high speeds. The sound being distorted or catching the sound of air instead of what Kaz would be saying.
He made sure that Hades would understand that while these were important concerns and complications, they were not something he would expect the man to drop everything to work on solutions. When he had the time and possible solutions, Kaz would like to be contacted.
