The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Venus led Tris easily into an adjoining room, she going willingly- just to see where all this was leading, well she had a definite feeling she knew where he wanted it to lead, but many options were still on the table...
Seeing the room, she took in the sight of the mats, the training equipment, the whole room designed for warming up for extensive exercise, and she couldn't help a giggle escaping her lips. "The contextual surrounding aren't exactly screaming subtly are they." she said in a deadpan voice.
Once Venus had released her hand- willingly this time, Tris stepped away slightly but not to much as he still stood playing with tendrils of her hair, she not moving abit- Tris didn't back down from anyone as her slightly disastrous scuffle with the Zephyr had shown.
" Do you think Perhaps Tris is more fitting for me? I am still up for trading if you like."
Tris laughed mockingly; "And that would make me what? Venus, Goddess of love? I may be arrogant, but not to those heights.....and I'm not so sure of myself I'd walk into a room alone with a mutant of uncertain powers....thats abit risky dont you think?" she leaned alittle closer, teasingly close, yet always just out of reach, whispering; "You have no idea what I could do to you..." with an evil smile to match.
" Everyone is the god or goddess of love, it is simply whether you are up to the passion of the title or not. I am used to walking into the unknown and dangerous, it is simply a spice added to life."
Tris said nothing, but the challenging look she gave him said it for her, the 'I'm so onto your smooth talking ways, and you can't get me that easily' look, but nevertheless she stayed exactly where she was, even as his hand slid from her hair to her jaw, titling it so their gaze was completely focused on each other.
"and you have no idea what I could do to you." was his suave advance as suddenly there was no more teasing as he closed the small distance between them, lips millimeters from hers, but still leaving a micro gasp so she would have to be the one to make the final move if she so chose- the sneaky thing, she had to admire that, all his work in fact, Venus had to be the most charming player she'd met in quite a while, and to be honest, the way he looked at her, the way he was holding her, she was tempted....and Tris had always been as Id kinda girl, what she wanted, she went after.
So she made that final move, and she kissed him, long and slow and sweet for just a few moments. But Tris was Tris, she was a tease and liked to have the advantage, and as with everything, there had to be a catch...and besides, they still had a meeting to get to. So in the middle of this sweet and wonderful kiss, she brought up her hands, focused- cause she was a mulitasker, and froze the object of her esteemed admiration. A small jolt, no more than 30 seconds or so it would be, but Venus currently stood still as a statue and unaware of his surroundings, every molecule of his being frozen in place for a very short time- but it would be enough. So with a last admiring glance and slight headache, Tris wriggled her way free of his arms and stepped away.
Tris walked around so she was by the door, directly behind Venus. To the soon to be unfrozen red clone, it might just appear she had teleported or something. As Venus unfroze and came back to awareness of events, she didn't give him a chance to adjust, but started to talk immediately, calling from behind him.
"For shame Romeo- should atleast buy a girl some dinner, maybe take her to a movie or whatever before you try something like that." she joked, though there was no derision in her voice- she had enjoyed herself, both the kiss and the trick, which showed by the wicked grin on her face. Then she sighed as she remembered what she'd actually come here for. "Come on, we gotta get back anyway, unlike some, nobody's taking notes for me and I dont wanna miss anything."
"Uh huh, I'm sure you would." Tris responded dryly to Venus's innuendo filled comment, before flashing a bright smile at him over her shoulder as she turned to open the door; ".....We'll see how you do at dinner before discussing such an offer further." and winked. Without waited for a response, Tris opened the door and stepped back into the training room...
Tris was, suffice to say, rather surprised as Venus lifted her up like she weighed nothing at all, and slid himself behind her- he mostly defiantly had not given up yet, how amusing.
" I assure you, I would be plenty of fun still, but much more while moving." He whispered into her ear breathing lightly on them while he did so his hands rested familiarly on her hips.
Tris leaned her head back against him, whispering back, a challenge in her eyes; "You mean you could carry my bags and be my slave....that would be fun." she grinned as she deliberately took his words down a different path than the one intended, white teeth flashing.
" Where shall we have dinner, or perhaps you have reconsidered such normalcies in light of the danger we will be facing soon. These stalkers aren't to be taken lightly you know." putting a couple of random cards into play to feel out her response.
THe teasing light in her eyes died as so did her rebuff of his dinner invitation, as Tris's curiosity got the better of her; "So you have seen them? Fought them?" she asked. "Why are they so dangerous?" she continued seriously- she could actually be serious, it was rare, but it did happen.
" If you mean bags to a room, sure." his one track mind plotted a steady course. " But we will have to take turns being slave, can't have all the fun can you?"
Tris had to swallow a laugh at that, she hoped no one heard the squeak that was all that came out. Unfortunately Abyss went on before she could voice her; "I dont think so, I'd rather be your master" comment.....shame really.
Tris reacted to the switching topics with ease, showing eager interest in any and all information or personal accounts of the stalkers, storing it all away for thinking about later.
...and then then the topic changed again and Tris changed with it; "Italian." she said immediately, "and it better be good, else I wont be impressed and then where would you be." and she looked at him, laughter in her gaze.
Tris was having a brilliant time and it showed, her face was animated and her eyes shone. She responded to Venus's increasingly inventive dinner questions with the same teasingly tone.
"I will be wearing a black dress....and you'll have to guess the rest." she winked. "And no, I'm not so much the wine type....more a cocktail girl myself, used to work in a bar, can't help it.....a sex on the beach is always satisfying dont you think?"
Tris softly whispered in a non committal tone; "Hmmmmm, perhaps." Smiling briefly- showing she appreciated the line but not willing to give him the satisfaction of her acceptance. "I might consider it.....If you are ever so good." A wickedly delighted expression followed this statement, staying as well for her next question; "Tell me Mister Venus sir....do you enjoy playing games?" Peaking up at him through her lashes, and tilting her head to the side, she awaited the answer with interest.
" The enjoyment of a game can only be compared to the worth of the reward when you win. So if the game sounds fun. Do you have one in mind?"
"None in particular." Tris said innocently. "I just like to play is all...." she trailed off at that, watching all the connotations of her words sink in to Venus's mind with a subtle smile.
And then something weird happened- well strange atleast.
Tris, it had to be said, did jump about two foot in the air- least thats what it seemed to her, as a fuzzy rope bound its way around her ankles suddenly- Venus was lucky he didn't have the poor thing blown to pieces (other people didn't do well when Tris was startled). But as she looked down, she realized it was a tail, Venus's tail to be precise, weaving its way slowly round her ankles, and then the other way. "You have a fuzzy tail." she said quite simply, looking at Venus, eyes agog with fascination, then after a pause she grinned happily; "That is so cool.....I love this place." this last statement true and innocent, and admittedly alittle immature, not exactly the sultry image Tris was looking to project- but Venus, Abyss and clones were huge and strong and red and fuzzy and had tails- that allowed alittle slip in the whole tease thing she had going, she'd pick it up in just a sec anyway.
Tris laughed along with Venus's words until he got to the part about swiping her when he left. She looked at him solemnly; "You serious?.....I couldn't leave Hunt...." she said incredulously, trailing for before she finished the Hunter part and why- he probably wasn't serious, just folling with her anyway. Before going on with; "I dunno bout that last part though....you seem to be doing a rather good job of playing around the labs." and a sultry wink for effect, and yep, the tease was back.
"Hmmm, couldn't is such a strong word, unless hunt, is indeed holding you hostage." He joked lightly, though he did have other employees under such contracts. " ah but alas, the room next door is the closest to a playground I have seen here, and I don't do so well with laboratories."
"Har," Tris replied sarcastically, then referring back to his earlier comment she demurred; "And not hostage......more grateful too.....and anyway, we dont do hostages here at the labs..." but because she didn't know everything going on here and knew the type of people she worked with, Tris had to add; "...well, much I'm sure."
" Tonight, Dinner should be tonight." He would risk much to go into town much less sit and have a whole dinner, but it would promise to be a night filled with fun.
"I dunno," Tris objected, her tone sinfully evil. "I might just be washing my hair." and struggled to keep a straight face.

Kaz sighed as he watched the two play their games. It wouldn't have bothered him so much if it hadn't been during the meeting. Kneeling in front of them, "I hope you two were paying attention and not to focused on your not so private game. If you're going out to dinner in the city tonight, be careful. I know there are mutant friendly places around, if you'd like I can get you a list of them. Though if you could refrain from doing this sort of thing in other meetings it would be great." Kaz lowered his voice, "Especially since we have a young guest attending." He wouldn't say where Katrina was. Clapping Venus on the arm Kaz stood up. "I'm sure there are other playgrounds around here." ((Going back to Catching a Stalker))
Tris and Venus could have continued their banter all night it seemed, their conversation seemed to flow and bounce of each other so well.
...but this was not to be, Kaz, wearing a long suffering expression, interrupted their game again. He wasn't angry, even giving advice on where to go, which was good, cause this was an approach Tris would pay attention too as opposed to angry yelling which would just make her yell back.
"We're good Kaz." she assured him, putting on a soothing voice; "We're listening, just multitasking is all."
But she was alittle surprised when Venus jumped in and took all the blame for their little private conversation....well it was his fault, Tris just hadn't expected him to admit it- that was kinda sweet.
However when Kaz continued with on his reasoning why they should refrain from further displays of this sort, being that there was a young person attending- oh crap. She craned her head looking round for a kid to be embarrassed about her behaviour in front of, but couldn't see one.
Instead, she slightly slapped Venus's hands away to focus on the meeting, her innocent expression seemingly to convey this was what she'd been doing all along.
A very slight hint of colour appeared on Tris's cheeks as she realized the meeting was indeed over as the plan and groups were set and everything had been decided- darn interesting red, fuzzy people, such attention hoggers.
"so, when can I pick you up?"
Hmmmm, a thoughtful look crossed Tris's face as she though about this question- preparation time was important. A wide smiled crossed her features as she threw the question back at him with wicked glee; "That depends- you want looking good, simply gorgeous, or absolutely drop dead stunning." she asked, eyebrow raised with her sarcastic questioning, and with absolutely no trace of humility whatsoever.
Tris chuckled merrily as Venus laid the compliments on rather thick, but said nothing. Then, when referring to himself, Venus added he though he could use some cleaning up, Tris stepped in, laying a hand on his chest, teasing quietly; "I dunno, maybe you should stay exactly like that, we could go themed- Tarzan and Jane maybe, tres cool don't you think." she grinned. So since he had already acquiesced to giving her time, he gave her a wicked cool crimson colored card with a phone number in bold font. "I guess it pays to advertise." she murmured, looking at Venus through laughing eyes.
I suppose you could call me when you are ready.I will try to stay occupied while I wait?"
"I dunno, I guess you always see if theres any messages from any of the other women you've given this wicked cool looking little card too."
She grinned evilly, and laughed, walking away with a wave, going on to her assigned group.
