The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

(This is an opening to me arriving. Trying to meet some of the people and such.)
Mettaliar walked around the corridors that made up this new place. With no idea what to do or who to ask, he quietly just kept walking in hopes that someone would talk to him. He was looking for his room, and while he was walking, he also thought about his plan on political domination. Finally, he could get in on the action which he was training for before the whole incident back at home.
Calley had found a dart gun. It was at a dollar store. It had three plastic suction cup-tipped darts, and was colored bright deer hunter’s orange. It was the perfect defense against the giant spiders.
He dodged around a corner, keeping himself low, and close to the wall. With a clearly wary arching of his eyebrows, he looked both ways. He kept his gun close to his right shoulder, and pointed towards the ceiling. The giant spiders frequently attacked from above. Because they were from outer space.
All clear. And quiet... too quiet. Silently he bolted down the hallway, glad that his habit of going barefoot came in useful during such desperate times as these, when a single footstep heard by the wrong ears could end a teen’s life. His eyes tracing over the walls, the floor, the ceiling. He tucked in against the next corner, and peered around it, his gun peering first.
With a jerk, he pulled back. His heart raced in his throat. There it was... the final boss. It might look like a normal human teenager with brown hair and a mildly lost gait, but Calley knew what it really was: a giant spider from outer space, wearing the skin of an unsuspecting mutant it had recently eviscerated from the inside out. There was only one thing he could do. For the good of the Labs. For the good of the World. For the saving of his own skin. Calley leaned back around the corner, and steadied his trembling arm. He took aim. Then he fired a round of suction cup-tipped death at the back of the spider’s head.
Calley wasn’t bored. He had been bored. Really, truly, horribly, lie-upside-down-across-a-chair bored. Then the giant spiders from outer space, who occasionally wore people as skin, and who could also shoot laser beam guns from their eyes, had attacked. Now...
...Now, he really, really, really needed something to do. Seriously. Why hadn’t Hunter left him with any missions? Why? Whatever he got into from here on out, it was clearly the Boss Man’s own fault.
Calley peeked out more fully from around the corner, though he didn’t step into the corridor fully. “Hello,” he said politely, “Did I kill you?” Just in case, he was already reloading.

Mettaliar had been walking aimlessly when he suddenly he felt something hit the back of his head. Quickly he spun around and prepared to draw a knife, when he saw a person peering out of a corridor. He stopped and checked the area behind his head and pulled out the dart. He sighed and threw it to the ground. He suddenly heard the other one start talking to him.
Without answering their question he immediatly looked up and raised an eyebrow. "Who are you?" he simply asked.

Calley
The young man’s reaction told Calley two things: that the guy wasn’t easily prompted into violence, and that he wasn’t dead, either. Final Bosses were tough.
“I’m Calley!” He said brightly, giving a little wave of his gun hand. “And you,” he pointed out, “are a giant spider from outer space, come to Earth to eradicate the human race and mutant kind in one feel swoop.” Actually, he was Mettaliar, former captive of the Order during the Haywire trials, and Kaz’ favorite little plaything during that time, for whatever reason. A Mansion resident, but he hadn’t turned out for the X-Men trainee trials. About 6’4”, dark brown hair kept long, and a habit of hiding that one eye of his behind it. Calley hadn’t figured out way: he’d barely seen the guy around, during his time at the Mansion. Just passings in the halls, really. His powers were some sort of creation thing—he’d certainly enjoyed making those little knives of his while the Order was treating him to luxury accommodations. This all, however, seemed like very trivial information. It overlooked the most important thing of all: he was a giant spider from outer space. And he wasn’t dead yet.
Calley grinned, then fired a dart at the guy’s chest. One dart left, now: he’d better make it count. “I’m also bored out of my mind,” he conversationally added as he reloaded. “How are you on this fine Humanity-Hates-Us day?”

Mettaliar tilted his head as the person down the hall introduced himself as Calley, and apparently also telling of his change from a teen to a rampaging spider. Mettaliar wanted to chuckle, but just couldn't. He was a bit nervous about the guy, wondering if he should just back away. He didn't, though. He crossed his arms as he watched the persons movements before being hit with another dart. He stared down at it as Calley continued his little rant, ending with a weird question. He flicked the dart away, cracked his neck and looked up. His sigh was deep and long, before his hazel eyes finally opened and his gaze went directly towards him.

Calley
"Nope," Calley answered, in all truthfulness. "Kind of wish I was. That would make things more exciting, I'm sure. As it stands... Kinda have to make my own, non-drug-induced entertainment. On that note," he raised his gun, and shot at Mettaliar's kneecap. It had occurred to him that maybe giant spiders from outer space had strange weak points. Since it probably had at least two of its true legs hidden behind that human joint, he was going for the long shot. The head shot and the chest shot having failed already, you see. "Are you dead now?" He asked, leaning out a little further from his corner. He politely pointed to his darts. "Also, would you mind handing those back to me? I'm out of ammo, and this place is crawling with extraterrestrial arachnids."

Mettaliar raised his eyebrow and nodded his head slightly. He sighed a bit as the last dart hit his knee. He shook it off and grabbed it along with the other two. He walked over Calley and handed the darts back over.
"No, unfortionatly. I am not dead. Anyway, who runs this place, and where may I find them? I have some business to discuss with them."

Calley
"Runs, runs..." Calley pondered, as he gratefully accepted his darts back from the giant spider, and slipped a dart into the spring-loaded chamber. It was just as he suspected: the Final Boss wasn't too bight. "That would probably be the guy with the elf ears and the silver hair and the beady red slightly maleficent eyes. Umm, Kaz, I think his name was. He's probably a spider, too." Given the history between those two, Calley was more than happy to deliver that bit of news. The 'Kaz is in charge' part, that is. He raised up his newly reloaded gun, and shot at his fellow teenager's chest from point-blank range. "Are you dead now? Also, would you mind handing that back to me? Anyways, there was another guy who seemed to be in charge back when they held the meeting, but he wandered off." Without giving Calley any orders. Yes: let's leave the hyperactive spy with nothing but free time. That's a genius idea. "I'm pretty sure its Kaz who's in charge now. Or at least, he's bossing people around. I'm pretty sure I know which room is his, if you want me to take you there."
"Are you from the Mansion, too? You look familiar. And do you have a name? Or did you, I guess. What with the giant spider from outer space having already eaten you from the inside out so it could wear your skin. Bum luck, that." He nodded sympathetically, then casually began to reload.

Mettaliar's jaw dropped when the name Kaz came up. It couldn't be him. No... not him. Can it? His mind was racing as he sighed deeply. He barely heard about someone else, but it didn't matter apparently. He had to face him one way or another. Better to face his fears than to hide. Who knows, he already had to face one lunatic in this place, why not see another.

Calley
Ooo! An actual, honest-to-goodness jaw drop! Calley had thought those only happened in cartoons. It was a better reaction than he could have hoped for. Plus, the man didn’t even seem to notice Calley shooting him. ...Which was actually a little boring. Calley retrieved his dart, and holstered the gun and its ammo in his pocket. The lime green squeaky hedgehog let out an affronted squak! at the sudden crowding of its habitual home.
“Sure! It’s three corridors that way, take a left. Then two, a right; one more, a left; go straight for seven; hang a right. Three doors down: he’s got a sign out for Katrina, so you can’t miss it.” Calley tilted his head. “Are you all right? You look a little pale. And what’d you say your name was, again?”
*Ahem, just popping in and if you guys want me to delete thats cool too.*
IC: "Calley, what are you doing now?" Kitra had been heading towards the vehicle bay when she had heard Calley's voice and someone else's. She had rounded the corner only to ind Calley with a dart gun, at least it was in his pocket though. "Calley, I was wondering if you wanted to go to the pet store with me to pick out a cat." She looked at the new guy, "Hello, and who might you be?"
Calley grinned, and answered quite brightly: “I’m hunting giant spiders! From outer space! With a dart gun! For the good of the world!”
“I was wondering if you wanted to go to the pet store with me to pick out a cat.”
At that, he accusingly stared at her. “The pet store? You, madam, are a bad person. The pet store doesn’t stock cats: it stocks kittens. Cute, loveable kittens that everyone and their neighbor is going to buy, mass-breed at some mill. You should go to the pound: home of cats that actually need a home, and who probably aren’t nearly as inbreed.” Rant complete, he nodded in agreement with himself, and then listened with amusement to Mettaliar’s stumbled answer.
“Do you want me to take you to Kaz’ room?” He offered the guy, by way of reminding him what they’d been talking about before Kitra had shown up. Easily side-tracked, this one was.
Kitra blinked, and blinked again. "Hello Mettaliar. How are you?" She looked at Calley, "Okay fine I'm going to the pet store to buy a kitten, possibly two." She looked back at Mettaliar, "If you would like, we could both accompany you to Kaz's room. And are you feeling alright, you look slightly pale."

Mettaliar looked at the two and sighed. He didn't know what to do. He could easily just walk away and try to find Kaz on his own. Yet, since he had no frickin idea where he was going, he didn't want to take the risk of getting lost. It would be quite embarrassing if he had to knock on a door and ask how the Hell to get out of there. He didn't want to cause any trouble to the residents of this place either, though. He hated askign for help, especially from someone he just met. He looked at the two and tiled his head. Am I really turning pale?
"Uhh.. y-yes. Sure. That would be helpful. Th-Thanks." They could tell he was nervous. He just had that feeling. He put his hands in his pockets and flipped part of his hair back, still keeping the eye hidden.
