The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

As the helicopter neared their destination, Shogun frowned. The hairs on the back of his neck rose, as though something was wrong. As they started to lower towards the ground, Shogun could sense something deeply, deeply wrong. The whole area seemed to be covered in some sort of shroud, as though evil itself was manifest here. What had he gotten himself into? Worse, there was something familiar about it. For one, it was the same as the shroud that followed to two women. But it was more than that, it seemed to tug at some long-forgotten memory.
The helicopter touching the ground brought him out of these thoughts, but he was still disturbed by the shroud that they had descended into. He couldn't sense anyone waiting for them on the ground, but there did seem to be guards patrolling around. A lot of guards. Someone wanted to keep people from getting in. Shogun stepped out of the helicopter, and ignored it as it rose from the ground. He turned to Kitra, "Where is this Antonescu?"
Hunter knew exactly when the helicopter would be landing and walked out into the grounds three minutes later dressed immaculately in an expensive suit. The helicopter had just taken off and Tris, Kitra and Shogun were standing in the grounds. Walking over to them he offered the girls a smile. Just behind him followed Sabrina.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you Shogun,” Hunter said extending a hand, “I am Hunter Antonescu, the master swordsman. If you’ll follow my assistant Sabrina here she’ll lead you to a room where we can spar. I’ll be with you shortly, I just need to have a quick word with the ladies. You’re weapons will be brought through to you.”
He had spoken in a welcoming voice, like a host at a party. It wasn’t that he wanted to brush Shogun aside, but a lot had happened while Tris and Kitra had been away. He needed to bring them up to speed before sparring with Shogun.

Shogun stiffened. Coming out of the building nearby was the most frightening thing he had ever seen. It was supposedly a person, but his aura was like nothing he had ever seen before. It was a huge, black shroud of evil that enveloped everything nearby, to the point where he didn't even know that there was someone with him. Wait, it wasn't an entirely new experience. It was the same shroud that covered this whole area, and the one that followed the two girls. Thsi man was evil, of that Shogun had no doubt. But more than that; he had seen evil men before, but none to this extent. He seemed a man who would relish bringing pain and death to people.
Then a realisation filled Shogun with dread. This was the same shroud that he had seen when he was very little, the same one that haunted his dreams every night. So it was no child's imagination, this man had visited his grandfather all those years ago. But, he couldn't be very old. He must be a good ten years younger than Shogun was himself. That would put him as not being born back when he visited them. This was no man, of that Shogun was certain.
The shroud spoke like a nice person, which Shogun found odd. How can something this evil speak so calmly, like someone hosting a dinner party.
You’re weapons will be brought through to you."
Shogun barely nodded, and only now noticed Sabrina. He forgot about watching his weapons, and followed Sabrina, trying vainly to block the shroud from his mind. What had he let himself into!?
"I’ll be with you shortly, I just need to have a quick word with the ladies."
Kitra knew Hunter had said other things, she just didn't hear them. She was now too busy trying to figure out if she was in trouble. Her mind went to battle against itself. 'I knew I shouldn't have entered....but, they asked for volunteers....true, but I went against Hunter's orders....Ah, but we brought Shogun back....Maybe we won't be in trouble then....' Speaking of Shogun, she looked around and spotted him. 'Hmm, that was odd', this entire time she hadn't seen any emotion from him. But, now, he seemed....what would be the word?...'Ah', slightly unsettled. 'I wonder why?'
Kitra shook her head mentally, 'Enough of this! I need to concentrate on Hunter.' She looked at Hunter and waited for him to speak. She did this while silently praying for her and Tris' well being....
Tris sighed as they set foot on solid ground inside Kabal grounds, she looked over at the dark, foreboding buildings, and was happy- she was home......more home then she'd ever had anywhere else anyway- free to do as she wished, and her powers accepted.....
Hunter walked up to them- and while not known to her, whle Shogun might feel fear, she simply felt glad to see her boss- he should be proud, they'd achevied their object on their first solo mission.
"See ya later Shogun, lovely talking to you." Tris called out brightly as Shogun walked away- irony in her bright words. She turned her attention back to Hunter; "So whats going on boss?"
Hunter didn’t turn to watch Shogun leave. Instead he focused on the girls. “For starters congratulations on successful first mission,” he said with a smile, “I saw you fight Shogun in the tournament Kitra, an impressive display, but you still need more practise. Also take care with using your powers to rashly in public, we both know what happened last time.” He was referring to the alleyway with the Order and having Sapphire come and rescue her. She’d even managed to lose her watch, so was now wearing a replacement.
“However, we have some more pressing concerns,” he said, his tone growing more serious, “The registration bill has been passed. America, the “land of the free”, is no longer safe for mutants. I’m afraid that you’ll have to stay at the lab for your own safety. I’ve already taken the liberty of transferring your personal belongings to rooms here at the lab. I want you to know that I will not sit idly by as this comes to pass. When the time is right I will strike back. But for now you two can either go to your new rooms or come and watch me spar with Shogun.”

Kitra swallowed and managed a weak grin as well as a weak laugh....'She knew exactly what he was talking about. The meeting with Syn, Abyss, the Twins and that other guy, Mandain/Horus....Which ended up getting her butt saved by Sapphire.' She grinned at the thought of Sapphire, 'she hoped to see her again soon.

Kitra frowned, 'as much as she would prefer to living in her apartment.... Hunter was right, staying at the labs would be safer.' She brightned inwardly, 'Perhaps she would finally meet the rest of the Kabal members. That would be cool.'
Kitra sighed, "Hunter, my apologies." She bowed and straightned, "As I cannot promise you it won't happen again.... I will promise to keep my talents under wraps as much as possible from the public eye." She smirked, "Unless, I happen to be acting on your orders."
Tris was glad of Hunter's praise of a job well done from her and kit....but apparently that was the silver lining before the dark cloud- the news got worse.

Tris didn't really care that all her stuff had apparently been transfered to the lab- she sent most of her time here in any case so it made sense for her.....but she really didn't like the idea of humans ganging up on mutants en mass like that, and hunter said he was going to help, and Tris wanted to as well.......she didn't really like putting herself out there on a side like this- but some topics grated against even her weird morals. Tris jumped right in almost on top of Kit- knowing she sounded a suck up but not caring, she felt strongly about this topic; "I wanna help with the striking back too Hunter.....I wont have stupid government types ordering me and mine around like we're livestock or a new and rare disease to be controlled...........guess what I'm saying is, which this striking back you wanna do- need a handy explosives expert?"
Kitra frowned, 'as much as she would prefer to living in her apartment.... Hunter was right, staying at the labs would be safer.' She brightned inwardly, 'Perhaps she would finally meet the rest of the Kabal members. That would be cool.'

She looked at Tris, "What do you want to do?"
As to Kit's question regarding whether to watch the sparing match or go check out their new digs, Tris smiled; "I vote watching the fighting.....it promises to be interesting......what do you think?"
Hunter smiled at the pair of them, impressed with Tris’s eagerness to fight. “Both of you will get a chance to fight against this,” he assured them, “but for now why don’t you come and watch what promises to be a spectacular show?”
Turning he headed back into the lab. He looked forward to sparing with the Samurai. While the man likely had more experience with a sword than Kaz, Kaz’s abilities and natural talent had made him a formidable foe. He wondered how Shogun would compare.
She grinned at Tris' words. Kitra wouldn't say it outloud, but she was eager to fight too.
“Both of you will get a chance to fight against this,” Hunter assured them, “but for now why don’t you come and watch what promises to be a spectacular show?”
Kitra frowned, "Actually, as much as watching Shogun and Hunter go all out would be awesome....I was going to go explore." She grinned and hugged Tris, waved and strode towards the labs. She was feeling refreshed after her nap and wanted to see how many new Kabal members she could run into.
'I do wonder what happened to Derrick though. I don't think he was in a very good position to do anything...My guess is I probably won;t be seeing him again.' She frowned as she walked through one of the doors, 'Hunter isn't exactlly what he appears to be either. I know I'm not seeing the whole picture...'[.i]She gulped, 'She wasn't sure she wanted to either....'
Tris watched Hunter walk off, turning to Kit and expecting her to wanna watch the fight as much as she did.
Kitra frowned, "Actually, as much as watching Shogun and Hunter go all out would be awesome....I was going to go explore." She grinned and hugged Tris, waved and strode towards the labs. She was feeling refreshed after her nap and wanted to see how many new Kabal members she could run into.
Tris's mouth fell open, even as she was hugged and then left- Kit wanted to explore more than watch a cool fight....and she was into swords and that....Tris shrugged to herself- oh well. "Catch ya later then Kit." she called after the other girl, and then she slowly walked inside......maybe go to her room first- see all her stuff was actually there, and if she didn't get lost- to HUnter and Shogun's fight.
