The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

A slender brunette had found her way to the recreation room. She was wearing her corset, this one was white with black embroidery on it and she wore black pinstriped pants. When her attentive eyes met the pool table, she was tempted. So she walked over to the table and laid out the pool balls.
After arranging them in a triangle, she pulled out a cigarette and placed it gently on her lips. Her soft hand reached back and she took out her lighter. With a swift motion, she lit the cigarette and inhaled the sweet smoke before breathing it out.
Now it was time to play the game, by herself, but she didn't mind. She took off a pool stick and broke the triangle before starting the game.

Cid had come to the sanctuary expecting grandure and a home for mutants. After arriving on the street outside the golden doors, he had found the entrance opean and unguarded.
"Strange" he thought. Pushing past the geatway, Cid worked his way through the building. After passing through several rooms, Cid found no one. Prehaps they were all gone, or dead. Both seemed like possible answeres. But then Cid caught the sound of someone moving around a few rooms over.
Making a B-line for the sound, Cid discovered that the person was a young brunett women. Stepping into the room, Cid cleared his throat to announce his presance "Is this the Sancturary, 'cause I herd that if you were a mutant looking for a way to fight back, this was the place to come?" then seeing tha the women had set up a game of billiards, he added "Care for a game of pool?"
At the sound of another approaching, Thorn froze. She rose up from the pool table and placed her stick next to her before taking another drag. Her eyes watched the door as the other entered.
Her eyebrow raised slightly as she looked him over. I am the one that gets to welcome a newcomer, great. With that she listened to him and opened her mouth in response with a smirk playing across her face. "Indeed, this is the Sanctuary and who might you be?" She did not wish to flat out say that they were a band of rebellious mutants until she got to know what he was really about, so she ignored the second question.
She took another drag as he offered a game and found that her cigarette was done. So she patted it off on the cigarette dish and sighed, feeling the nicotine flood her sensations and make her feel better. "Very well." She stated as she started to rearrange the pool balls back in the triangle.

Cancer listened to the girls answer. From where he stood, it was clear that she was hiding something. But he didn't want to press the issue just yet. Setting his bag aside, Cancer walked over to the girl, picked up a pool stick and answered "Most call me Cancer...and you are?"
Grabbing the chalk and applying it to the stick, Cid broke. The pool balls scattered about the table, the two ball dropped with a satisfying clunk into the right side pocket. "looks like your playing stripes". After taking a second shot and just missing knocking the nine ball into the corner pocket, he looked up at the girl "Your shot"
Thorn looked over at Cancer. "Any significance of your nickname?" She asked. Most mutants went by a code name and most of the time, their code name was connected to their mutated ability. Thorn was no exception.
"My name is Pru or Roxanna. Either one is fine, however, I am more commonly known as Thorn. Hence I prefer to be called Thorn, but whatever floats your boat." She watched him shoot as he perfectly lined her up for the 9 ball. Seizing the opportunity, she lowered herself and shot the nine ball in. With that she attempted to sink the 5 ball, yet unfortunately, she was not too great at pool and she missed and scratched. "Damn, never was too great at this game. I just play it to relax. Something about hitting things against eachother with such force as to send the victim flying away gives one a sense of power."

"My name? Ya, you could say it has some significance." Pausing from the pool game, Cancer walked over to the corner of the room where a potted plant sat. Placing his palm on the leaves, he said "I corrupt things." Activating his power, Zakisa watched as the leaves instantly turned brown and withered to a fine dust. "That's where I get my name"
Returning to the pool table, he placed the que ball just so, took aim, and knocked the fourteen ball into the side pocket. The fourteen was quickly followed by both the twelve and the one ball. After that, he missed his shot on the thirteen.
Handing Thorn the stick, he asked "And how did you come to have your name?"
"Ah, so you suck the very life out of your victims? Quite a handy power, I am indeed impressed." With that she watched as he set up his que ball and began shooting in other balls. She watched intently, while thinking, of course. The power to corrupt living organisms? That was quite an amazing power, truely better than her's, but she did not care. Her power was a weapon and a toy, not meant to compete with other powers unless it was fun.
"Yes, my name does carry reference to my power." She lifted up her hand and pointed at the wall. Within seconds, maybe a dozen thorns shot out from her finger and embedded in the wall. Half of them were silver, the other half were green. The silver meant that Eris's experiment with her had succeed and now all that was needed for the full adaptation was time. "As you can see, I can shoot thorns from anywhere on my body. I have undergone surgery to make them titanium tipped, but as you can see, I have not had enough time to allow them to fully adapt. So I'd say in a few days I'll be shooting titanium tipped thorns."
She leaned over again and shot in another stripped ball. The second time that she shot, she used her geometry and found the angles of where she had to hit exactly, within seconds, might I add, and she fired the que ball at them, hitting them precisely and landing another stip in. Yet she did not like math and did not use the same technique for the third ball, so she missed and the que ball rolled away from the striped ball and stopped on the edge of a corner.

"good shot" remarked Cid. "And not just organic things. Metal, plants, skin, bone....anyting that can decay. Your power is nothing to laugh at either. You say you had surgery to get titanium tips, thats quite interesting" Cid's mind wondered at the idea. He hadn't know that powers could be changed, this opened up new possibilities.
Taking his shot, Cid sunk the ball hovering near the corner pocket. His next shot was a hairs bredth to far to the right and missed the ball he had been aiming for.
As she lined up for another shot, she placed the pool stick gently between her fingers, pulled it back, then shot it forward. She watched as the que ball approached the ball thatshe was aiming for and she watched it sling right past it as it headed for another ball. And not just any other ball, the 8 ball. She watched as the que ball hit the 8 ball right into the middle pocket.
"Dammit." She cursed before rising from her position. "Told you I am horrid at this game." With the frustration of not getting the 8 ball in, she reached back and pulled out a little flask. The scent of vodka filled the room before she took a small shot of it. "Want any?" She asked, not wishing to be rude.

Cid eyed the drink Thorn offered him "Sorry, I do't drink. Don't eat for that matter. I don't have a stomach or intestins or stuff like that. I get all my substanance from decaying matter." Then after a second he added "Actualy, hand me the bottle" taking the flask, Cancer stuck his pointer finger into the fluid. He activated his power for a few moments, slowly swishing the fluid to ensure an even balence.
Once he was satisfied that he had completed his goal, he handed the bottle back to her "Alchol is one of the few things that actually tastes better when it ferments. Have a taste, should be top shelf quality if I didn't miss my mark."
While Thorn tryed the improved beverage, Cancer looked casually around the room. Every surface screamd lavish or luxery. This one room probably cost more then most of the hotells he had stayed in.
After a look around, Cid decided to go investigate the rest of the Sanctuary. "See you around" he remarked, as he made his way out the door.
