The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

James entered the large library, he was surprised by the many books, he wandered around a bit, not sure where to start. A few other people were in the library already, reading books and working on homework. James walked over to one of the walls and started thumbing threw the books "They have to have some information that can help, maybe even something about the school itself." he thought as he read the covers.

Neena cellphone buzzed, tickling her waist. She blinked, and checked the screen, expecting to see another 'newbie at the gate' message from Jonathon or Miss Tipper. Instead the screen was reminding her to pick up her glasses in town.
She grimaced slightly. The airport baggage handlers had managed to treat her bags with enough delicacy to break her only pair of replacements, along with a few other breakables. Since her eyes were so sensitive to daylight, yet her brain was just as unsensitive to keep the rest of her from damaging circumstances, she always tried to keep several pairs of the specially-made sunglasses in the wings. Unfortunately, that had been her last pair. It had taken a while to find a vision specialist willing to simply take her 'perscription' from the actual glasses, as opposed to going through an eye exam; it's hard to explain why you need glasses when your vision is almost perfect.
She uncurled from the back of the couch she'd been draped over, upside down as usual. She started to head toward the door, putting her book in her pack as she walked backwards for no apparent reason, just because she was quirky.
Once the book was in the bag she turned around to walk properly-
And just as improperly ran smack into another body. She stumbled back a couple steps, windmilling her arms a bit to keep her balance.
"Sorry 'bout that," she apologized. "Didn't see ya there. My bad."
James had his concentration set on the books, when someone bumped into him, he quickly turned around and spotted a woman stumbling back "Whoah are you okay?" he asked quickly moving to help her, he had noticed her when he first walked in, but didn't pay any attention to her at first. "Don't worry about it, My name's James".

"Whoah are you okay? Don't worry about it, My name's James."
"Nah I'm okay. It's a pleasant change just to not end up on my bum for once," she chuckled. "Nice to meet ya James."
She gave him a quick once over from behind her sunglasses; black hair, blue eyes, beard, a few inches taller than her, not a body-builder but not small either, possibly near her age.... Hmm....
"Sorry, I haven't seen you 'round before. Not that that's unusual with me. Are you new as well, or have I been just been spacier than usual lately?"
James laughed "No your not spacing, I just got here today, I'm a new teacher." he said putting a book back on the shelf. "Why were you in such a hurry anyway?"

"No your not spacing, I just got here today, I'm a new teacher."
"Ah! You too? Then doubly nice to meet ya, m'friend. What subject did they pin on you?"
"Why were you in such a hurry anyway?"
"Just about to run into town to pick some glasses. Gotta keep a few extras on hand, what with this wild crew," she motioned to rest of the room, indicating the many mutant residents. "I'm not in a hurry, necessarily, but it's amazing how much you miss walking backwards, ya know?" she joked.
"I'm the new psychology teacher, are you also a teacher? what subject?" He asked looking over the other mutants, "anyways walking backwards usually does have it's disadvantages." He said with a smile.

"I'm the new psychology teacher, are you also a teacher? what subject?"
"Psychology? Oh, you'll have fun with that one here..." she remarked. "Well, technically, yes I'm a teacher. They put me in Danger Room. Though I don't do much except talk to the computer and pretend I know what I'm doing."
"anyways walking backwards usually does have it's disadvantages."
"Yeah, I suppose it does, unless you have eyes in the back of your head. You don't do you?" She walked around behind him to check. "You never know anymore," she added, half teasing, half serious.[/b][/color]
James started lookign at the books again, he heard her saying she was a teacher in the danger room and it caught his attention "danger room huh? you must be a good fighter then." he said looking back at her, "Oh no, I don't have any mutations like that."
James shook his head "That's one heck of a job." he said in a joking manner "Hopefully your pupils don't have good accuracy, or else you may be in trouble." James started to try and search through the books, before becoming frusterated "do you know where I can find some books on the school, maybe even a directory so I don't get lost."

"That's one heck of a job. Hopefully your pupils don't have good accuracy, or else you may be in trouble."
Neena raised one eyebrow, and shook her head. "It's not a matter of how accurate they are. It's how fast I duck that matters in the end."
"do you know where I can find some books on the school, maybe even a directory so I don't get lost."
"Didn't Miss Tipper give you a map when you came in? Oh, hang on a sec..." She knelt down and set her pack on the ground. Pushing her glasses onto her hair, she began rummaging, and pulled out a 'New Resident' folder. She took out the map and handed it up to him. "There ya go, that oughta help. Did you want a tour, or just want to explore on your own. You know you never truly learn somewhere if you don't lost several times." She grinned, having done just that, more than several times.
"No need for a tour, wheres the fun if you are told where everything is." he said as he looked at the map, everythign was there, it was perfect. He pocketed the map and planned on exploring the mansion as soon as possible, "by the way how do I get a room, I haven't gotten the chance to really talk to many people, and it seems you are in charge of a few important things."
A big crash took over the silence of the library. "Damn!" Deathstar said out loud as she picks up the books she knocked off the shelf. Quickly she grabbed as many books as possible not trying to cause a scene, "Hey you!, can you give me a hand?" she spoke out to a new guy she haven't seen before.

"No need for a tour, wheres the fun if you are told where everything is."
"Glad I'm not the only one who things that," she replied happily.
"By the way how do I get a room, I haven't gotten the chance to really talk to many people, and it seems you are in charge of a few important things."
Neena scratched the back on her head. "No, I'm just a helper, not in charge or anything like that. Miss Tipper is the Headmistress, and Daria is her assistant. I'm just nosy," she added with a slight giggle. Standing she put her pack back on, then pointed to the map. "Okay, let's see.... Rooms are on the second floor... here. The middle hallway is the one you want to look in. That's where the adults are bunked. There should be several open ones still, then just let Miss Tipper know where you are, so she knows where to find you. Her office is.... here." She emphasized her words with points to appropriate places on the map.
She was about to mention the roommate arrangement as well, when there was a crash from nearby. She turned to look, and saw a girl nearby, attempting to pick up a stack of books from the floor.
"Hey you!, can you give me a hand?" she asked. Neena wasn't sure if she was talking to her, James, or both of them, but it didn't matter. She quickly strode over and began helping pick the volumes up.
"Here, m'friend, let me help. Talk about your heavy reading," she teased.
