The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

This eight story building nearly took up half a block, each story nearly 20ft high. Cement and big blocks of red brick formed the outside of the building. There were windows along the walls, though only the ones towards the top were larger than 3x2ft, and didn't have thick heavy bars on them. On either far side of the warehouse were the remains of fire escapes. Ripped or rusted off one could only guess. In the back of the building, there was a large reinforced steel door, two stories high, and four car widths wide. In the front there was an steel door after going up a short flight of stairs. Though to get into the actual building, you have to have either a keycard and have your hand scanned, or go through a hand scan, voice scan, and retnal scan. Otherwise you'll be stuck in the small area inside the door, which is only 6x5ft.
Once inside, there was a marked change from the outside. The entire building had been reconstructed without touching the outside skin. The walls were nearly five times thicker than any normal warehouse, each wall was five to seven feet thick. Reinforced cement with thick steel skin, all along the wall. It could almost serve as a bomb shelter all in its own. Where the rear, where the huge steel door is, it opens up to a gigantic lift, able to lift a large truck, all the way to the eighth floor without trouble. Next to that lift is an elevator, to take people up and down. Past the lift is a sort of parking garage, able to house nearly 20 cars, trucks, SUV's, vans, with room to move around easily.
On the top of the building is a fairly large pool, which is constantly being filtered and warmed. It can be used even during the winter, though normally it is covered by cement slabs that extend from the sides of the pool. There is a sauna and jacuzzi which during the winter can be lowered into the building. There is also a barbaque/cooking area, which like everything else can be retracted into the roof.
The second floor is a storage area, not much of interest there.
The third and fourth floor is one large training area. Housing a mini gymnasium, think gymnastics, it's all there. Beside the large padded area for floor rutines is a flat smooth floor, extremely reinforced and open, with noting hanging down above it. Kaz uses this to exercise and practice.
The fifth is the entertianment floor. A small bowling alley, a fairly large arcade, which has some virtual games where you actually get into the game, every movement is translated into actual gameplay. Some batting cages are also present. In a sectioned off area, a home theater sits, using full theater quality sound. From inside it, you can't hear anything from outside, same goes for outside the theater, making for a very enjoyable time.
The sixth floor has a large kitchen, dining room, living room, two full baths, four master bedrooms and six guest rooms. In the living room stands a large fireplace which can run with wood or gas, three large couches, large enough to lay on and feel completely comfterble, three loveseats, and four reclining chairs, a 120" flat screen sits in the corner (like this |\), which is visible from anywhere on the sixth floor. Near the t.v. is a large home sterio, total surround sound for the entire building, and even the roof. Each room is furnished with a desk, two chairs, a spacious walk-in closet, a queen bed (king for the master bedrooms), their own t.v.'s and sterio system, along with a decent computer with 10mb cable internet.
Not only is the theater soundproof, but the entire building is as well. Beyond that, dude to the construction, the building is extremely stable with nearly no vibrations from outside or in. A large semi truck could roll past and not shake the liquid in a glass the slightest. Intercoms are set up all around the building on each floor, making it easy to comunicate between floors. There are two things that connect all the floors, simple yet eligent steel spiral staircases.
Kaz got out of the van and walked up to the wall next to the large steel doors. Placing his hand on what looked like a normal brick, he spoke his name and kept his eyes open. All three were scanned. The large doors upened up exposing the inside, which began to light up. Getting back into the van, "We're here." Kaz backed the van into the building and onto the lift. "Alright, time to hope out." As he spoke the large steel doors closed and locked securely in place. Walking over to the elevator, Kaz pressed the controls for the lift, to bring the van to the second floor. He waited for the girls to follow him onto the elevator, which was basicly a steel mesh cage, so you could see out in all directions, except through the floor and ceiling. "You girls want to unload or relax first?" Depending on their answer Kaz would have the elevator go to the second or sixth floor.

The twins watched, so far unimpressed with the building from the outside, even with his security measures. They'd developed their thievery into an art over the past year, and had grown overly confident in their ability to break into anywhere they wished. And if they did get caught, they figured they could take anyone who tried to stop them. Of course, the pair also hadn't faced off against too many other mutants, and didn't realize that most were stronger than they were.
However unimpressed they were with the outside of the building, their expressions quickly changed once inside. Their eyes widened as they took in the surroundings. In sync they stared at each other, then at Kaz. For once, neither knew what to say. Amp was the first to get her wits back.
"Yeah, unloading's fine..." That would give them a chance to regain their composure.

Kaz watched the girls' eyes go wide and chuckled softly. "Everyone who's seen this place does the same thing." Once the girls were on the elevator, it took them to the second floor where the van was still sitting. Kaz grabbed a movable, convayer belt, put it against the back of the van, and began to unload. "Take a seat, I'll take care of the unloading and sorting." <They look like they're in shock.> Kaz laughed to himself. The convayer blet went down and deposted the items onto other smaller ones, moving things to different areas, in no particular order, just to make it easier to sort later.
Normally one would worry about dust, and clothes getting dirty from touching the ground, but if they were to put a white glove on and move their hand accross the floor, they'd see there was no dust, dirt or any other sort of filth on the glove at all. The whole process of unloading took 10 minutes. Kaz hopped down and pushed the big convayer belt to the side. Moving to the areas where clothes and electronics among other things had been randomly placed, he pressed a few buttons on the floor near each convayer belt. Holes opened in the floor, and kaz began to put the girls' clothes, seperated by the type, shirts, jeans, dresses/skirts, underclothing, swim wear, etc, into the holes. Each hole closed then opened again a moment later. In another part of the floor, a larger hole opened, where a box came up, and was moved by large mechanical arms into neat piles. Kaz repeated the process with the jewelery, electronics, the leather items, and other miscilanious items.
Kaz had been zipping back and forth from pile to pile doing this. He was so use to doing this sort of sorting, he looked like a machine himself. Once everything was in boxes and seperated into their own areas, he turned to the twins and explained where things were. "Done. There's a pool up top, if you'd like to relax, or if you're hungry, food on the sixth floor."

Kaz was obiously amused at the pair's reactions. "Everyone who's seen this place does the same thing. Take a seat, I'll take care of the unloading and sorting."
They nodded slightly, more of a reflex than an actual response. They watched as he moved back and forth with more-than-impressive speed, their heads bobbing cartoonishly as they attempted to keep up with his movements.
>Dang...He's a pro...<
"Tell me about it...." Amp shifted her stance slightly, one arm crossed over her chest and supporting the other, her chin resting in her hand. "Hmm. So much for the extra shopping," she remarked idly. Vibe made a face halfway between regret and respect.
"Done," he soon announced. Vibe raised an eyebrow.
>He didn't even break a sweat!< Amp shook her head slightly.
There's a pool up top, if you'd like to relax, or if you're hungry, food on the fifth floor."
Both options sounded highly appealing, and they exchanged grins. "Got any soda? And fruit?" Amp asked. Vibe nudged her shoulder. "Or any rules about eating by the pool?"

Kaz caught the comment Amp made, though he didn't understand what she ment by it and shrugged it off. "Pop, yeah, fruit, if there is some, it'd be in the fridge. This place isn't used all that often, so fresh fruit isn't out in the open. So only fruit that can survive longer is kept. Apples, grapes, pineapple, kiwi, ya know, that sort of thing. Rules?" Kaz walked over towards the twins, who where still near the elevator. "Not much in the way of rules. The pool is filtered completely every five minutes, so food near it wouldn't matter much. This is my, and a couple other people's retreat. So the only rules that really need to be obayed are, respect the place. Keep it clean. And NO theiving. Other than that, it's chill. No worries about having to be quiet, the entire building is completely soundproof, even through each floor. You could have the theater going full blast and not hear or feel it a foot away from the wall." Kaz got into the elevator with the twins in tow and brought them up to the sixth floor.
They nodded agreement to the rules, having already subconsciously dismissed any thoughts of pilfering. It wasn't because they thought they'd be in over their heads, though they surely would have been, but because they didn't feel like being bothered with the extra effort. Easy come, easy go, as the saying went; they could easily replace what they'd stolen in the first place.
Each of them retrieved one of their newly aquired swimsuits, and followed Kaz into the elevator.
The building continued to impress them as they explored their next stop. Amp made a beeline for the kitchen. Her vision was getting a bit fuzzy, meaning her sugar level was too low. Vibe followed at a slower pace, taking in their surroundings, especially the giant TV in the corner. She placed one hand on a nearby table and tapped.
"She wants to know if you have cable, and On Demand," Amp translated, her voice muffled a bit since her head was in the fridge. She tossed an apple over her shoulder without looking. Vibe caught it, likewise without looking, biting into absently. Amp close the door and returned to the main room, a Diet Pepsi in her other hand. "She missed the last episode of American Idol."

After the twins grabbed their swim suits, and got upstairs, they again were impressed. Though Amp rand to the fridge, and tossed an apple to Vibe. Kaz raised an eyebrow when Amp ran, making a small, 'huh?' noise. Walking over to where Amp was, he looked in the fridge and grabbed a beer. Leaning against the counter he cracked it open and took a swig. "Honestly, I'm not sure. I wasn't the one who set this place up for that kinda thing. I never touch it. Though knowing Eldwyn, he probably got everything under the sun. If you can figure out those remotes, then I'm sure you'll find it." Taking another drink, "Though, I don't know why you'd want to watch such a horrible show. Though I suppose it's better than that model one." Looking over to his left he saw the universal remote, <Someone was here recently. That's rare.> Grabbing it he tossed towards Vibe, "Here!" Stepping out from behind the island that was in front of the fridge, he then dissapeared from where he was and reapeared in front of the sterio. Pressing a few buttons he turned it on. Power could be heard as it jumped to all of the speakers. "Sound's on now. Don't turn it up too loud. You'll hear it all around you, these are some of the most advanced speakers you can get." Turning away, he bagan to walk towards his room, one of the four Master Bedrooms. "Oh, you can either change out here, or you can pick a room. Well, one of the rooms along the wall there," He pointed when Vibe looked at him, "The other four, are off limits. One of them is mine. You'll be able to tell by the blades above the door. If I'm in there, and you need me, just knock. I'm going to change." With that, he walked into his room. Changing into a grey beater and a pair of black and silver swim trunks, with black sandles.
"Thank you! Finally, somone agrees with me." Amp replied to his comment about American Idol. Vibe simply rolled her eyes and stuck her tongue out at her sister. She'd never admit to being jealous that the contestants could at least pretend to sing, something she'd never be capable of doing.
The pair waited until Kaz disappeared before seeking out a room to change in. Their swimsuit styles differed almost as much as their clothing styles. Amp donned a 'surfer's' suit; the top was more like a sports bra than a bikini top, and the bottoms were board shorts. Both were black with a gold strip running down either side. Vibe, on the other hand, went for a typical bikini, colored dark green with goldish-yellow hibiscus flowers, with a matching wrap knotted around her waist. She pulled her long hair into a quick ponytail with a green scrunchie as they headed back out into the front room, still munching away. Vibe began flipping through the channels, while Amp leaned against the wall.
"Nice setup you guys got here," she remarked to Kaz when he reappeared. "Must have taken a while to pull it together."

When Kaz came out he gave both girls an aproving look. Both of their swimsuits fit them quite well, and their personality. Though Vibe's outfit was the type Kaz liked girls in the most. Still sipping on his beer, Kaz responded to Amp's words. "Not really." He shrugged. "Not after you buy the entire area in a three block radius and have private contractors working 24/7." Kaz walked over to the far wall, where 12 small plaques hung, in each was a $100 bill, with the name of a bank under each. Looking to Vibe, "Find what you were looking for?"

Amp walked over to admire the plaques. “Impressive.”
"Find what you were looking for?"
Vibe shook her head, and flicked off the TV. >Nah. Maybe later.< Still munching away, she handed the remote back to Kaz, then headed for the elevator again, followed by her sister.
“Must be nice to have those kind of connections,” Amp remarked as the pair waited patiently.

Kaz smiled at Amp, "Heh, my dear, I don't think you quite understand what those are." Kaz set the remote down that Vibe gave him. "Nothing in this building was payed for with our money. It was the money those 12 banks gave us. And still, we pay nothing. Eldwyn did a good job of setting it up so we will always have free utilities, and never be on the cities map except as a historical site." As he joined the girls in the elevator, it rose up smoothly and silently.
Kaz walked over to the lawn chairs near the pool and turned on the sterio. Soft, smooth, relaxing music began to flow from all accross the rooftop. It wasn't soft, but it wasn't loud either, it was barely background music. The chair he sat on had a few controls next to it, eligently placed to look like designs on the glass end table. With a few taps on the touch screen glass, slabs of cement pulled back in a few places, exposing the sauna, jicuzi, and grilling area. "Common, relax."
The pair’s motives for doing anything had always been entirely selfish. They were not necessarily greedy for money, but for comfort and luxury, for which, unfortunately, money was needed to provide. Like most homeless kids, their thievery had started small, pickpocketing, shop-lifting and the like. It didn’t take them long to move up the ladder, until raids like their Macy’s haul were becoming a weekly excursion. They’d even gone so far once as to wait for the authorities to arrive, before causing mass chaos. But the thrill was quickly wearing thin. Banks had remained just outside of their zone, mainly because, in the twins’ minds, a bank heist required major planning. Planning was not one of their strong suits.
But if a bank heist could provide all of this....
Vibe claimed one of the loungers and removed her wrap, while Amp hunted down a trash can for their apple cores. She set her pop can on a nearby table, and went to check out the pool. The water was just cool enough to send goosebumps up her back, and looked deep enough for diving. When Kaz encouraged them to relax, both turned slightly and gave him a conspiratorial smile, before diving gracefully into the water. ‘Relax’ was not in their vocab. They trusted no one except each other, and were always on guard, even when having fun. It was just their nature.
Nearly two minutes passed before they surfaced, inhaling deeply. If there was one place they did feel comfortable, it was on or in water. Between the pool, the night’s fun and present company, they were definately enjoying themselves. Eventually Vibe made her way to the edge of the pool and tapped out a question.
“We’re starting to get a bit...curious, Kaz,” Amp translated. “You said those twelve banks provided all of this? Have you stopped at twelve? Or, perhaps, are there others in the near future?” Their green eyes practically glowed with devilish interest.

Kaz couldn't help but almost feel hurt. Their pauses, were begining to wear on him just the tiniest bit. Sitting up, Kaz leaned forward, his legs on either side of the chair, left hand on his knee and sipping his beer in the right. His tone was slightly icy, but only enough to get the point accross and to be taken seriously, "It's obvious you two have trusting problems. I won't ask why, that's your buisness. If bringing you here, where only six people know about it, that includes the four who put it all together and now you two; if that doesn't say you can trust me at least the tiniest bit, then I don't know what will. You've already got enough info on me that you COULD put me in federal prison for the rest of my life."
Kaz stood up, moved to the edge of the building and sat down, hanging his legs over the edge. Looking down, his voice returned to normal as he spoke. "And to answer your question: No. The money from those 12 is still being 'cleaned' only about 40% of it we've made into legit cash. Besides," Sighing, "The four of us sorta...lost touch. Jason, can't be found anymore. Derrek, hasn't been heard from in a while, which insn't surprising, he manipulates sound similar to you girls, though I don't remember him being able to make sound blasts. Eldwyn and I are barely on friendly proffesional terms." Kaz leaned back, placing his weight on his arms, he began talking as his mind replayed the heists, the roll each played. "Jason bent the light, making us completely invisible from anything and anyone, Derrek made us completely silent, but still able to comunicate. Eldwyn, was two fold, his mental persuasion and telekenetic abilities were good enough, but that computer he has, no clue where he got it, broke every security messure the banks had in seconds. Damn thing had an attidude to boot. I was the muscle and speed." He didn't realise he had begun to ramble. This was probably a reason he stayed away from this place.

Amp pouted at Kaz’s tone and pushed away from the edge, moving toward the center of the pool. “Well, sorry,” she snipped in response. “We just met you a couple of hours ago. You can’t expect us to totally be easy-going, just because you helped us out once. For all we know this could a setup, and you could be a badge.” Even as she said it, they knew it was a ridiculous thought, since the NYPD frowned on mutant cops, for the most part, but neither let on. “And if you aren’t, we’ve seen you in action. I doubt you’d let us get away with ratting you out. Not like we would. Trust or no trust, no one likes a snitch. Besides,” she mumbled as an afterthought, “trust just gets you hurt.” Her voice, and Vibe’s face expressed just how often the pair had found themselves on the losing end of deal because they trusted the wrong people. Still, his chastisment did make them feel the slightest bit guilty.
They didn’t say anything else as he began to reminisce, eventually moving to the side of the pool he was near. Since his back was to them, Vibe had to repeat everything to Amp. They leaned on the edge, half in, half out of the water, chins resting on crossed arms. Eventually Amp grimaced.
“I didn’t think it was possible,” she muttered, just loud enough for her sister to hear, “but I’m actually starting to feel guilty.” They made a simultaneous, and slightly irritated, face. Vibe motioned toward him with her head, her expression resigned. Beneath the water, her feet flexed a bit. Amp gathered the vibrations, spinning them in the water until she held a tiny cyclone of water in her hand. She tossed it in Kaz’s direction. It wasn’t enough to drench him, just enough to get his attention. They tilted their heads. >“Sorry for the attitude. Truce?”<
