Seeing native wildlife roaming the grounds wasn't an uncommon sight. There were birds, squirrels, and insects a plenty along with your standard frogs and lizards and larger rodents like racoons and opossums. There was one creature though that didn't quite fit with the other natural inhabitants. Actually there were three creatures, but since one was being chased by the other two it was that creature that tended to catch the eyes first. It was a rabbit, large and fat with gray fur, but not that unusual on initial glance regardless of whether or not it was native to this region. It's only when the eyes linger longer and catch that second glance that one notices the giant antelope horns adorning the rabbit's head. While the mind may be rebelling at the very notion that jackalope's are real the eyes might catch sight of the second two oddities. If you thought you were tipping balls before then the teenager armed with a water gun and riding astride a solid black unicorn probably didn't help.
Casper didn't do this often but it was a fairly nice day outside. Low humidity and more of a cool breeze than the chill that made him wear two layers still was a ways off from the Texas weather he was used to at this time of year, but it was more than good enough to indulge in a favorite past time. Shabti hunting. Which admittedly might seem a bit cruel as he was creating shabti for the sole purpose of hunting them down and destroying them with a Xploderz Xstormer 1000, but it was this or play Uncharted 4 for the sixth time. Honestly he wasn't opposed to grinding through another seventeen odd hours of game play, but everyone needs a little sun sometimes.
He and Blackjack had been hunting the jackalope for a good thirty minutes now. Enough time for Casper to seriously regret not animating some hunting dogs as well. Granted they would have been tiny compared to their real world counterparts, but they still would have gotten the job done. He had only himself to blame of course. He'd given the shabti a command, 'Avoid me at all cost,' and it had done its level best to fulfill that order. It was pure luck that now he was chasing it across an open plain of grass. He couldn't waste this opportunity and let it slip back into the trees and bushes. Trusting Blackjack to dodge or outright leap over any obstacles or people in the way Casper leveled his pellet gun, narrowed his focus in on the fleeing shabti, took aim and fired.
It took three shots. The first pellet splashed harmlessly on the ground when the jackalope made an abrupt change in direction. The second shot actually made a hit just not on the target he was aiming for. Casper was going to blame that one on the bumpy ride. “Sorry!” He yelled to the unfortunate soul he'd tagged, but really things could have gone worse for them. He could have been armed with a paintball gun. The third shot, however, was the money shot. It caught the jackalope right on the spine and dissolved it into a puddle of inky goo. He had a couple more shabti that were still running around in need of hunting, but right now he was going to take a moment and truly savor this victory. “Wooo! Another one bites the dust!”

Rivka began walking, marveling at the incredible colors of the trees as autumn crept over the countryside. She was walking along a low hedge when a rabbit-ish... thing, leapt over the hedge. She let out a loud squeak, and hopped a foot back quite startled.
She only just had time to look up when she heard something else coming before getting hit by water! Then she saw the pony going for a jump and she hit the ground.
She heard a ''sorry" from the rider and realized as he rode off it wasn't a pony- but a unicorn?!?
What kind of a madhouse had her father dropped her into anyway?
