The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Lee had talked to Matt a couple of days earlier about hiring Ifreet, and as it turned out they could in fact use some additional help in the kitchen. With having more bands starting to play earlier in the night, the bar was getting more food ordered throughout the night than they used to. So Lee had called Ifreet and set up his first shift.
Which was that night. After getting all of the paperwork quickly out of the way, Lee sent Ifreet off to the kitchen, no great need to take him herself since he had already cooked in there.
Later on in the night, Lee went looking for him, wondering how his first night had been going so far. Because she obviously had no issues with the fact that he was a mutant, and she wouldn't let Matt make it be an issue, but she wasn't sure about the kitchen staff.
Ifreet had been in the weeds before, and the evening rush was far from the worst he'd seen. Not to say it wasn't busy, but he'd been in worse. That said, it'd been a minute, and he was tired. He propped the back door open, wrapped up in his parka, hood up, and shook out a short Winston Light. His eyes flared, and the cigarette lit seemingly on it's own.
Lee walked past the open door, "Hey, Lee! Out here! How'd that rush treat front of house?
Lee had had no luck finding Ifreet in the kitchen, so she continued making her way around the back of the bar until she heard her name being called from outside a door that was propped open to the cold night air. Poking her head out, Lee finally saw Ifreet, standing out there with his parka on, smoking.
Standing in the doorway, arms crossed in front of her to try to ward off the chill, Lee shrugged. "It was about average for the time of night, as far as I saw," Lee replied. And really, Lee didn't pay a great deal of notice to the particulars of what was going on as long as there weren't problems. It's not like she was able to help much behind the bar or in the kitchen if they got backed up, after all. In fact, she'd probably be more help stopping a bar fight than getting food out of the kitchen faster.
"But how about you? How's your first night going? Everything good back here?"
Ifreet finished up his smoke. His eyes glowed and flickered as he incinerated the filter in his fist. "Hey Lee. No overt trouble so far, but there's some smokers in your crew, and I don't see them out here. Could be nothing, and it's absolutely possible I'm being overly sensitive, but they haven't exactly been chatty with the New Guy." This was a fact. The crew was shockingly quiet from the moment he'd walked into the kitchen, eyes aglow. He'd experienced this kind of behavior before, and it usually preempted stuff like missing knives and aprons. He was being honest, he certainly could be over-reacting, but history suggested otherwise.
Lee nodded as she listened to Ifreet talk about how his night had been so far.Obviously not great, but thankfully not as bad as it could have been. Though, if things had been bad like that, Lee would have hoped she’d have heard about it before finding Ifreet.
But it seemed as though he was finished his cigarette, and even with her arms wrapped around her, Lee was starting to shiver. ”You ready to come in?” Lee asked. ”It’s a little cold out here.”
Still shivering, Lee waited for Ifreet to come inside and the door to close, blocking the chill wind, before she spoke again. ”I can poke around a bit, and talk to Matt about it,” she told him. ”But if anything actually happens, let me know.”
It could definitely have been worse, he thought as he stepped through the door and let it close behind him. He needed to stop this before it got started, "I wouldn't worry about it too much. I'm not tattling or anything. I can handle it." In fact, going to ownership about the cold shoulders would likely make things much worse. He'd been in far worse situations, and he really could handle the silent treatment. He was here to cook, not to make friends. Comradeship certainly made things more pleasant, but it didn't make the broth boil any faster.
Lee nodded as she heard Ifreet say that she didn’t need to get involved. That he could handle it. That had to be true, Lee realized after just a moment’s thought. Having a visible mutation, even if it was only his eyes, Ifreet would have faced much more anti-mutant treatment in his life than she had. And the fact that he was still here, trying to hold a normal job, even if this time his boss was a mutant as well, said that he was able to deal with what was likely going to be coming his way.
Even if Lee didn’t like the fact that that behaviour was in her bar.
”Fair enough,” Lee said with a nod. Then she shrugged her shoulders. ”It’s hard to stand by when I actually have the power to do something this time, for once, but as long as it doesn’t get physical and you can handle it, I won’t do anything.”
Y'all hungry? I'm hungry. Any requests?" Ifreet stepped carefully around Lee, headed into the kitchen proper. No point in putting things off. Either the rest of the house was going to accept him, or they weren't. He might as well dive in and get to know the place better. Even if his fellow cooks were uncomfortable with him.
Was she hungry? Lee shrugged as Ifreet stepped past her and started making his way into the kitchen. ”I could eat,” Lee said simply as she followed Ifreet into the kitchen. It had been hours since she had had dinner with Kevin, after all. ”No preference. Whatever you want to whip up is fine.”
Once they made it to the kitchen, Lee stayed out of the way of the staff, standing against the wall by the doorway.
