Levi stormed into his apartment. It was clear to anyone with a lick of sense that he was
not happy. And you’d be right. He wasn’t happy at all, which was admittedly a bit unusual for the man. He was generally more even keeled than this, but no he had to go and screw things up! Ugh! Levi growled lowly as he cursed in his native tongue, kicking out at the wall to his apartment while he did so. He had been so stupid! How could he have let his powers go crazy like that?! He hadn’t meant to but then again, they had been trying to kill him. Or at least it seemed that way. Not to mention that bucket of bolts that had lost its mind! Whatever mind that would have been that was.
’OK Levi breathe. Just breathe. You're just over dramatizing things. Everything is going to be all right.’ he told himself this but he was having trouble believing it right now. He couldn't help but to freak. People like him weren't always excepted you know. This was not how this was supposed to have happened! If only he had kept his cool.
The man laid back into his bed sighing again as he closed his eyes and looked back at the last couple of hours and perhaps how he could have done things differently.
-----An hour and a half earlier-----
He had just finished a rather busy shift at the coffee shop. It seemed as if everybody and their mother had decided to get coffee from him today. Of course it wasn't just him -- there had been two others--but even then it had gotten rather busy even for them. But they had managed and all three of them had decided that when the shift was over, they were going to go home and sleep. It sounded like a good plan for him.
It was rush hour and so there was at least fifty million people everywhere it seemed like, but Levi wasn't concerned about that. He was just walking to the bus stop so that he could get home. He was minding his own business. He wasn't talking to anyone, looking at anyone or doing anything. He just wanted to get home and relax.
Of course that was before he quite literally ran into someone. He grunted softly in surprise as he took a step back. Oh great. This was just great. He hadn't meant to! He was about to apologize when he saw what it was. It wasn't a someone as much as it was a some
thing.
The META bots. He had heard of these mechanical menaces and the troubles they could cause. He had done his best to avoid the robotic creeps, but it would appear as if his luck had run out. He was suddenly confronted with one and he couldn't avoid it now. This was not going to end well he felt. He was being scanned and all he could do was just stand there like an idiot. He should have walked away right here and now, but he couldn't. It was as if someone had froze him to the spot. The scanner came out and his nerves spiked. Oh no. This could not be good.
And good it was not.
Especially when the bucket of bolts seemed to have misfired (were they honestly going to fix this anytime soon or did they not give two rips?) and proceeded to tell him that he was under arrest. Levi balked.
”Me? I don’t think so. Got the wrong guy.” he said as he tried to walk again. Now was the time to leave. He hadn't done anything after all. He had just got off of work after an eight hour shift...he had no time to do any crimes even if he had wanted to! Him? Arrested? Please.
The bot had other ideas though. It kept getting in his way, grabbing at him and then suddenly it had
tazed him! Levi yelled out as he felt the electric stinger going through his arm. It had not been enough to incapacitate him, but it had clearly been a warning. Again he was told that he was under arrest. This tin can had lost its mind! Levi had no intentions of being manhandled by a robot. He wasn't sure why he had done so, but he had pushed the robot to the side.
"Get out of my way rusty bucket." he said as he walked on. He was just trying to get home. He was tired, he was cranky and he was ready to get off his feet.
Then it went to even worse when two broad shouldered guys showed up. They had apparently been watching and thought Levi was a criminal trying to evade arrest. And instead of leaving it be, they decided that they would help the law out. Help?! More like be a bigger pain in his neck but that was beside the point.
”Look guys you have got it all wrong. Its wrong. I haven’t done anything.” he protested as it suddenly became a three on one problem here.
”They all say that. You’re just trying to evade the law. We’ll fix that.””You won’t get away.” Levi could not believe this! They were believing the bucket of bolts more so than the human was the actual brains. This was ridiculous! What was he supposed to do now?! They were approaching him threateningly and this really could not get much worse for him right now. It started when one of the guys grabbed him and Levi fought back. It was him kicking and flailing and hitting whatever he could hit while the other two were trying to hold him down. And of course the bot telling him that he was under arrest over and over. It was gathering a lot of attention and all Levi wanted to do was get away.
They were beating him up bad and he knew that he had no chance of getting out of this was just his muscles. He was too scrawny and too inexperienced for that. He was shoved to the ground -- lip split and nose bleeding and eyes narrowed into a glare as he stared up at the two oafs.
”Please just leave me alone. This is just a big misunderstanding.” he tried to plead. He was sore and he really just wanted to be home now.
They shook their heads and one curled his fist up again. They didn’t believe him. They were going to attack again. His mind was buzzing and his heart pounding and his sense of logic was being overrun by fear. They were going to attack him again. They weren’t going to stop. They were going to kill him. All because of a stupid robot and a misunderstanding. No! He couldn’t let that happen! He turned towards the duo again, glare intact and muscles tense.
”I said leave me alone!” he growled and suddenly he yelled out--using his powers in retaliation. The sound waves had the men wincing in pain, the robot twirling around and windows breaking. Levi scrambled too his feet and took several steps back as he stopped using his vocal powers. A lot of people were still wincing and covering their ears while others were staring at him as if he had two heads. It was definitely time to leave now and the hell with the bus--Levi used his own two feet and walked (almost ran) back to his apartment.
And that was where he was now, laying down and berating himself for being so stupid. He turned on the television in the hopes of getting his mind off of it, only to see a breaking news story about it. There were people going to the hospital for minor injuries but thankfully he hadn’t hurt anyone seriously. He watched in anger as the public was told that this was a dangerous mutant and that they exercise caution if they were to see him. Thankfully the men and the META bot were too woozy and scrambled to have identified him clearly. There was at least that. He quickly turned the TV off and threw the remote onto the night stand.
He had really screwed up now hadn’t he? Dangerous mutant?
Oh brother.
This could only end bad for him he had decided as he laid back down and tried to figure out what he was going to do now?
