The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Weren’t northern latitudes supposed to be cooler? Tarin pulled at the collar of his shirt and heaved a pained sigh. The shirt was light cotton and already a button lower than usual, but the shirt was plastered to his back in a way that could only mean that he’d already sweated through his undershirt and was well on his way to being truly disgusting. Muttering about concrete jungles, traffic, and the general lack of personal transportation in New York, the Medium made his way to Central Park. It was too hot to go to the shop, and his apartment was even further away, maybe the shade would help.
There were some tourists, and the general dun of spiritual activity that had simply come to indicate to Tarin that he was in one of the more heavily populated areas of town. Many things had happened in Central Park, for many years, to many different people. The spirits were calm though, and even though Tarin knew for a fact that they couldn’t feel the heat, it was almost like it was weighing them down too. Ugh. Summer.
A slight breeze was blowing and a bench in heavy shade proved to be bearable to a point that Tarin was able to lean his head back and doze lightly in the summer heat. There was always something about Central Park in the summer, the joggers, the tourists, the horse drawn carts…and the music.
Music? Tarin kept his eyes shut as he listened. The music wafted on the breeze, close enough to be recognized, but quiet enough that he had to strain just a little bit to hear. The player was good, violin if he wasn’t mistaken, and tackling something quite difficult. Eyes open now, Tarin sighed, he needed to see just where the sound originated.
It really wasn’t as far as he thought, and much to Tarin’s relief, the new spot was still in the shade. A busker was the source of the music and the Medium stood for a while, hands in his shorts pockets as he listened to her play.
The song ended, and the Medium removed his hand from his pocket, leaning forward to drop a well crinkled 20 dollar bill into the violin case.
“Lindsey Stirling.” He said before she could start again, “Ambitious for the middle of Central Park.” He glanced around the park, "How are you not melting?"
Seyta liked central park, mostly for a lack of METAs, but it was also a calming place. The warmth, the natural beauty, the escape from the city. It was also an excellent place to earn some cash. Not a lot, but it was a better than nothing. Plus if thing went really poorly she could just start picking pockets.
The poncho was more in the way than she had expected. Still it did it’s job, which was to conceal the knife on her belt. Most of the morning had past since she started and it was getting rather warm. Didn’t bother her though. Well it did but her spot was nicely shaded and there was a breeze. A few people stopped to listen now and then. Some dropped coins, a few dropped bills. She put on a small bow for those who tipped nicely.
>> “Lindsey Stirling. Ambitious for the middle of Central Park. How are you not melting?"
Seyta raised an eyebrow seeing the man drop her a twenty. He hadn’t been listening long so it was a small surprise. “Thanks, I try my best. As for the melting. You get use to it after a while.” Still eyeing the twenty she took a moment to make sure she was relaxing her mind. Vanishing on a paying customer was bad form. “So, do you have any requests? I can’t promise specific songs, but I know a lot.”

"Do you?" Tarin said, an eyebrow raising as the girl explained that she simply got used to the heat. "I'll have to take your word for it. I've been here ages and I'm always surprised at how hot it can get this far north."
Another request? Tarin thought for a moment, brain trying to sift through any music in his head that would be appropriate for a violin. There really wasn't much. "It was actually a happy coincidence that I recognized that song. Lindsey Stirling pops up on my Pandora every now and then. You play whatever you like. If it isn't too creepy I might hang out for a bit. I can't handle another second inside right now and this might be the only shady spot in the city." There was even a bench to sit on close by.
