The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Serena continued to find herself and her muscles relaxing. It had really been a stressful activity packed couple of months, she could almost feel a weight lifting off of her shoulders as she casually reminisced about the old times at the mansion while talking to the young mutant.
She smiled as the girl responded, quite enjoying her company. She was certainly very polite among the teenagers that attended school at the mansion. She sighed again but had a smile on her lips, she wasn't used to being used for wisdom, not in the slightest. She wasn't sure if she was entirely comfortable with it either but she'd certainly do her best to give good advice! "Well again, I don't know how many people can truly be considered 'evil' most people who you see doing morally dubious things believe for one reason or another that they are following a good cause." She paused to let that sink in.
"It might be the case that some mutants who break the law with their powers have simply had a hard time in society, it's not always been good for us. Or it might be the case that they had a troubled upbringing, without much love in it." She smiled again at the girl, tilting her head. "behavior and the things that cause it can be quite complex, it's worth remembering that just because something bad happened, doesn't mean it is the sole cause for something else." She smiled.
"I hope so too." She leaned back a bit and looked up at the relatively clear night sky, smiling at the stars. She'd never really seen all of it, she'd have to make a trip into the country sometime to see it more clearly.
"I'd suggest mostly focusing on your control, and if you're worried about going into the city there are always staff members that can go with you, if you organise it in advance." She soothed.

She could see this. People did not do things because they thought it was evil but because they thought it was best. The idea made her think a bit and that maybe Serena was right. She had taken Elliots word on faith alone and that might not be the best idea. "So people can do the wrong things but believe their doing the right thing" she said considering Serena's words out loud.
Their could be a lot of reason Mutants did bad things seemed to be what Serena was saying. Her own parents had been very accepting of their Mutant daughters and if she had not requested being sent here would likely have still been with them. "Sounds like their all just scared" she said considering Serena's words carefully. Maybe their were many reason people did the awful things they did, she couldn't be sure.
"A few years back we had a Mutant show up in Japan and kill a number of humans. No one ever knew why and since most of the victims were Yakuza members not so many people cared" she said recalling the deadly string of attacks that had began and ended suddenly over the course of a few months.
She had not been awhere or maybe she just had not considered the idea that some of the staff might go with her. it seemed inconvenient for them but she considered he idea that maybe they did so to prevent trouble like what she might cuase or out of control police robots.
"That is an idea, it would be nice to show my parents parts of the city, with my camera" she said considering the idea. Her parents likely would;d not be expecting it and it would be good to know the area she decided. It seemed odd to her to live in a city and never experience it and with an adult with her maybe she woudlent have to worry so much about losing control.
Serena smiled at the girl as she responded, she still wasn't entirely comfortable with being seen as some kind of an authority figure, but at least the girl was taking her moderate attitudes to heart. She had a warm feeling in her chest, she guessed this must have been how teachers or Councillors felt when they helped someone. Not bad. "That's right. In my experience the best people to be friends with are the moderates, those who aren't going to just jump into a fight without much provocation."
A few too many of the X-men seemed to have a habit of that, but oh well.
Serena smirked as the younger mutant carried on talking, for a kid she was remarkably insightful. "It's quite possible, and that's horrible. Murders are never a good thing, no matter how criminal the recipients of the crime are." She said passionately.
She was very much a believer in the sanctity of life argument.
The blonde grinned at the girl again, she seemed to be so sweet, her first thought of going outside was taking pictures to send to her parents. "That sounds lovely! I'm sure they would appreciate that, especially if they've never been here." She paused for a second, carrying on in a very soft tone. "Do you miss them?"

She considered Serena's words and found she agreed with them. It made sense to try and stay toward the middle. She certainly did not want to be in any fight if she could help it.
"They never caught the woman, but they said she was an American and had a strange glow around her that she used" Their had been no pictures just a few isolated witnesses. Her parents had not wanted her to hear about the event but the internet made it easy to find almost anything out. "I don't like violence or why anyone would want to hurt somone or kill them." she said not quite understanding the mindset that lead to killing and outright violence against others. Mizuki was sure she would have trouble hurting anything other then bugs,
"I do, and my sister as well. This is the longest I have been away from them. It was my idea to come here though. My parents supported the choice. That's why i want to send them pictures so they can see im doing well" she said. She was less ure of her choice now then she ahd been when she mad eit but was still sure it had been the right choice.
Serena was glad that Aoi didn't sound particularly scared by the ordeal, whoever this person was, but she winced as the younger girl mentioned a glow. Obviously Serena wasn't naive enough to think that she was the only person who had that as a side effect of her mutation, and obviously she wasn't American, but still. She'd had some serious fears over her power when she was younger, nightmares about it hurting others and she was still wary of using it in a tense situation.
She forced her expression back into a smile at the girl's words, she was very sweet, that much was for sure.
"Well, It's very nice that you send them pictures then." Serena felt a flicker of painful memory at the mention of a sibling, she again forced it down out of the way.
