The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Central park was a beautiful place to be during the spring. People had begun to crawl out of their homes, where they had stayed for most of the winter. Many of the animals became more active as well, enjoying the warmer weather. The grass had started to look green again and some daffodils had even begun to sprout along the paths.
Couples walked along the paths, enjoying each other. Parents took advantage of the nicer air and sent their kids to play on the playground structures while they drank coffee on the benches.
Juliette Lawson was also enjoying the warmer weather. She had never taken to the cold and proudly saw herself as a hibernate-r. However, as soon as it was warm enough, she spent as much time as possible in the park. There were many trails that were perfect for cross-country running.
She had fallen into a steady rhythm that matched the beat of the song she was listening to. Her breath came in short bouts whenever she stepped on the pavement, turning white in the brisk morning breeze. She hummed along quietly to the tune of her song as she ran, thinking that nothing else in the world could top that feeling.
She stopped at a small kiosk and looked at the headline on some of the papers. META Bot Stops Dangerous Mutant, it read. The young woman sighed and shook her head, a sinking feeling filling her gut. She pushed it to the back of her mind and stepped up to purchase a water bottle, thinking that it was her turn in line. She didn't notice as she stepped in front of a young mutant with purple hair.
Gavin hasn't been too used to sweating under the sun and actually seeing sweat, at least not in a good while. Every time he would look down at his own skin, his eyes darted all about to see any sign of colors. The constant feeling on his skin crawling, of oozing out venom, can be unbearable. Still, aside from this, it actually was pretty nice outside.
Lugging his backpack as he wondered around the park, his hand slipped in to search it. Spending the day at Central Park wasn't something he was aiming for, especially under this weather, but being on his own got him too anxious. The young mutant was feeling more than a little lonely, but he didn't quite know how to solve that problem. As far as Gavin knew, he's still a wanted man with a weaponized body, and it wouldn't do him good to draw too much attention or let anyone know too much about him. The way things are now, he was just as much a stranger to himself as he was to the world.
For now, though, his existential thoughts would have to wait. Gavin had been thirsty for a half hour now.
"Gotcha." His hand pulled out a five-dollar bill, the last bit of money he had left. Gavin would rather not resort to theft, but pretty soon, he may not have much choices left. For now, he had more than enough for some water to satisfy him. He looked around and saw a small kiosk, smiling a little as he rushed up to the front. Before he could get any closer, however, a woman suddenly cut his path.
"Oh...sorry, miss," Gavin said quietly, not wanting to get confrontational. Choosing one's battles and all.
Juliette stood at the front of the line, tapping her fingers against her thigh to keep busy while she waited for the cashier to ring up her items. Glancing over the racks of miscellaneous food and drinks, she added a granola bar to the counter. She had removed one earbud to be able to talk to the cashier, and she suddenly heard something over the noise from her music. She turned and looked around, spotting a purple-haired teen.
"I'm sorry?" She asked him quietly as she racked her brain as to what he might have said. "Oh," she said, suddenly realized that she had seen him in front of the line before but her eyes hadn't registered it. Her face flushed in embarrassment as she took her items off of the counter. "Here, you go first."
She stepped back for him to step in front, but changed her mind after a moment. She felt the little wallet she was holding and decided that she would be able to swing it. "Actually, why don't I just get that for you? It's only fair."
