The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Kaine walked down the street looking at the old familiar sites of the varying houses and shops.
Kaine's gun was clearly tucked into the back of Kaine's trousers he stopped and looked at the high bell tower of the little village church. Kaine had come home to England for the first time in about 10 years trying to escape the problems of the mutant kidnappings and so on.
Sitting down on a bench Kaine took out a cigarette and lit one looking at the people who walked pass
Ira sat on a bench chair opposite Kaine in silence, brooding over his past. He did not notice him when he came and sat down where he was now.
Ira had his head between hi hands and was looking hard at the cobbled road beneath his feet, the many experiences in his memory swirling through his thoughts. He did not regret the things he had done, he did not feel guilt or remorse of any kind, and despite that the events of his past bombarded his thoughts with images and voices. He wasn't horrified by it, no what he'd done was cool with him, it was just that they wouldn't stop. They kept jumping out at him from his memories, like the souls of those he slaughtered were haunting him. He was getting so damn sick of it. He wanted a clear head back. His head throbbed.

Kaine looked at Ira firmly before syaing in a oddly harsh voice "we never did finish what we started in the church" Kaine stood up walking over to the center of the road removing his jacket as he did so
Ira looked up to see another figure of his past. The shadow-mancer, Atticus Kaine.
Atticus Kaine said in a oddly harsh voice, "We never did finish what we started in the church". Kaine stood up walking over to the center of the road removing his jacket as he did so Ira knew this meant Kaine wished to fight him, and he decided a battle would be good for his mind. Ira stood up and took hold of the metal bracing on the bench chair with one hand, and peeled it off like dried glue. He put his will to it and reshaped it first into a blob of metal; then had it reshape again, it quivering like jelly as it stretched into a narrow shape then firmed out into a lethal looking sword. All this happening in about three seconds.
He glared at Kaine, took a firm grip on the sword and said, Let's dance.
He waited for Kaine to make the first move, ready to use for his aid everything around him, including the the ground materials or even the very body of his opponent.

Kaines body felt unnaturally full of energy bowing his head and closing his eyes he concentrated extremely hard and then it happened the floor around Ira turned completly black and soft it was a portal to the shadow realm kaine just drifted through his own shadow into the realm of darkness and shadow
The ground beneath Ira turned black and soft, and he began sinking into it like it was quicksand. He hadn't expected this, this was unknown territory, this was ****ing magic.
He used the only thing he had at his disposal, his sword, he stretched it out into a cord made of wires, with a hook on the end. He threw the hook at a nearby tree and managed to pull himself out of the blackness before he went under. His body slowly rose out easily, as he was only going in because of gravity.
He pulled himself over to the tree and sat on a sturdy branch looking at the now black section of street. Kaine had already gone through.

Kaines body was completely covered in shadow his eyes were completly black he felt the other entity within me taking over him again and then it did the tranculcent black wings spread from kaines back as he soared out of the floor and up at Ira "I am the one who dwells within and prepare to feel my wrath"
Ira watched a black shadowy winged figure fly out of the black mess where Kaine had been, at him. He swore and jumped off the branch he was on at the last moment, the figure he assumed was Kaine headed straight into the tree while he landed on the ground. Ira quickly shot glances around him, trying to notice something useful before the shadow chap came at him again. His eyes fell on the cobbled road. Cobbles. Large stones. He dashed onto the road clasped his hands together to focus his mind. He spun around and stopped in the middle of the road - a decent distance from that black stuff that had come up - and stared in front of him, paying no attention to his sense of sight. In his mind he visualised the stones moving and then put in the telekinetic force to make it happen. The ground rumbled, cracked, and the stones rose out of their places and did what he'd visualised - they stacked themselves into a wall with a gap in the middle. Ira made a quick 'reeling in a fish motion' and a stream of dirt, sand, and pebbles spouted out of the uncovered ground, and into the space in between the two small walls he'd made. All this formed a decent little barricade, fit to withstand a small battering ram for a little while.
Of course by now the shadow chap would be on the move again, so making even more haste than before, Ira telekinetically pulled up more cobble brick thingies and stacked them into a haphazard pile. He picked one up and hurled it with boosted force at Kaine.
