The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Tses had never been a fan of books. Growing up on the streets, she never bothered learning to read properly and that meant they were just giant paper weights taking up space. She kept a couple at her apartment, but since Ty and her broke up she hadn't seen Chloe, and that kid had been the only one patient enough to try and teach her. It almost made her less inclined to try learning. Heck, just the site of them irritated her.
Maybe that was what drew her into the building in the first place. With the riots taking over most of the city, this smaller public building was quiet, one door hanging a little dejectedly off it's hinges. Tired of wandering with the Amazons, she had split off for a bit, determined to cause mischief on her own. With no one in sight she wandered over to one of the taller book cases, climbed up it like a ladder and plopped at the top. She had a clear view of the space from there, endless miles of dusty objects she couldn't understand.
They were dumb anyway.
She reached down under her foot and picked up the nearest novel. Web Design for Dummies Stared up at her, a yellow cover with black designs and a few symbols she recognized. Standing up, she took her stance, dropped the object, and kicked it across the room like a soccer ball. It thunked into the ceiling before crashing into the waste basket on the far end of the room. The blond mutant did a victory dance and pranced in place. "Goal!!!" Picking up the next one, she repeated the action, but this time Javascript: The Missing Manuel sailed to the left, and flopped in front of the front door. Foul. Rolling her eyes, she moved to grab another book, before she heard what sounded like footsteps. Eyes glimmering, she held the next textbook like a baseball, and called out to the figure before they moved through the front door.
"Here, catch!" Pages ruffled helplessly as it spun through the air, and Tses jumped to the next bookcase with catlike grace, enjoying the entertainment. Books were stupid anyway. She kicked another one towards the waste basket, venting her frustration. She seemed uninterested in whoever might have arrived. Careless and cocky, she figured she could handle whatever came through the door.

Sam shifted his weight and leaned forward on his ice slide heading towards central park apparently there was an organized protest there and police were already on scene. Nothing happened as of yet but that didn’t mean that there wouldn’t be anything happening. There were already several riots over the past two days and with everything happening (mainly the city turning upside down in chaos) Sam didn’t want things to start without him being there to help. So far he was very successful in keeping things somewhat under control.
His ear buzzed and he looked down at the library he was passing over, it seemed there was a break in for some time and no one had answered the call. Sam looked to his phone as he slowly passed over it checking the time. ”I got time…” he muttered to himself as he aimed the slide down towards the entrance of the library with the door hanging on it’s hinges. He touched his ear letting the police dispatch he was answering the silent alarm letting them know they wouldn’t need to send anyone else this way unless he had apprehended whoever broke in.
Slowly he entered the library his mutation already going to work making a radius around him chillier.
"Here, catch!"
Sam heard the feminie voice first followed by the ruffling of pages. He turned his head but was too slow to react. He didn’t get a heat signature from the book and his blind eye was no help so one of the corners of the book hit him on the side of the forehead. He doubled back and cursed. ”Who throws a book!?!” he asked yelling to whoever threw it in the first place. ”Seriously?” Sam asked as he slowly walked in his hands getting ready to block another oncoming flying book.
Sam heard another what he could only assume was a book fly through the air and hit a wall. Sam turned his head to see who was the culprit and only managed to spot a girl jumping from book shelf to book shelf. ”Why are you throwing books and why did you break in to the library?” Sam asked still trying to feel if anyone else was lurking in the shadows.
Tses smirked slightly as she pranced across the library. The air seemed like it was a bit colder, but she was far enough from the door it wasn't a big deal yet. The yelling echoes along the tall roof of the building and she chuckled slightly, turning and putting a hand on her hip, Huckleberry Fin held up for him to see.
"Well they're not much use for anything else. 'Sides, seems like they make decent enough weapons!" She tossed the book straight up and quickly formed an orb of energy in her palm and shortening the fuse considerably. With a flick it was in the air exploding before the book came down. WHOOSH! Energy dispelled, and the object went summersaulting through the air. It landed short of the ice mutant, pages bending askew. Fun trick, but she needed a little bit of practice to execute it right. She noted to try that again later.
A few more steps and she scanned the titles, waiting for the right 'victim' to stand out. Math would be great... "Wait, here's a good one..." One of the top shelves had a light paperback, and she sent it zipping across the room, aiming for the guys head again. It was unlikely he would miss it, but that didn't matter much to her. He wasn't a problem yet, and if he became one, well, she could always use a fight.
She was already moving a few book shelves over, then dropped so she was sitting on the edge of the bookshelf. Hooking her legs around the lip of the shelf she swung upside down and started picking out a few more choice projectiles. Titles didn't matter (not that most of them made sense to her) but the lower shelves had a few heavier books she was determined to get. There was the clatter of books onto the floor as the rejects were dismissed and then she had a nice heavy dictionary to try her explosive trick on. Lifting herself back into a sitting position, she scanned the room for the intruder, green energy starting to trail up her arms...just in case.

Sprightly was a good word to describe the woman as she bounced from bookshelf to bookshelf-sending books flying in his general direction. Sam also noted the green orb that sent the book flying in the first place. ‘Energy-mutant?’ Sam mused to himself as he walked further into the library satisfied that there was no one lurking behind him. A book he clearly couldn’t see coming but a person/mutant would be easy enough to feel.
Sam waked towards her as she hung upside down leafing through books to toss to the floor, ”You know that your breaking and entering right?” Sam asked now he was looking up to her several feet away from her on the ground his body already forming ice under his clothing when he noticed that her hands were glowing green.
The air got a bit colder at that point Sam was sure they were alone now. ”I’m gonna have to ask you to stop throwing books and quietly leave the library. Had a rough couple days and it would be great if you could help me out on this and play along.” Sam said shrugging his shoulders hoping she would comply without much of a fight though from her general tone and her glowing green arms he figured this wouldn’t happen. Shame too she wasn’t bad on the eyes or rather eye.
The air was certainly getting colder, and Tses had a sneaking suspicion it had something to do with the mutant approaching her. Either that or the AC had seriously tanked and was trying to turn the building into a freezer. Whatever the reason, it was good Tses had a good tolerance for the cold, growing up without shelter during the winter did that, but it didn't mean she liked it. She gave the guy a bored look at rolled her eyes.
"Do I look like I care what I'm doing?" She tossed another book at him, not hard but making sure he saw it with his good eye. It was like telling a kid not to touch something and they ever so slowly disobeyed.
Crouching at the top of the bookcase, she glance down at him, letting the energy slither along her arms and to her shoulders like flames. "So the question is, what're ya gonna do about it? Cuz I had me a couple'a rough days too, an' I don' really feel like playing along." She stood and did a front flip, landing like a gymnast at the end of the bookshelf then somersaulting off the end. Her boots hit the flood with a solid thunk that she absorbed into a crouch, then she was off and running towards the back room, tossing an explosive over her shoulder at him.

‘Then why do it?’ Sam thought in response as she tossed another book at him. He sidestepped and let the book hit the floor and then looked up to the girl who clearly had a problem being told what to do, like every woman in Sam’s life. Just once he wanted to find a nice girl who didn’t deface public property or try to blow him up. Just once.
”Sorry to hear about that, maybe we can stop all this and you can tell me about your rough couple of days?” Sam asked taking a few steps forward towards the woman as he watched her hop off the bookshelf. Before she landed Sam debated icing the ground so she would face plant. He didn’t however he was still trying to reason with the girl. That was up until she blasted a green explosive at him. Sam tucked and rolled to the side only to stand up right after.
Sam’s response to her green blast was in return a simple one. His body iced over and he skated forward after her, ”Fine by me, that was me giving you a warning.” the air in the library got colder as he followed her into one of the back rooms. ”You are now under arrest for breaking and entering and destroying public property, and now attacking an officer.” honorary officer but that still held up in court he didn’t know what they called it but he knew he sent a many criminals to jail for attacking him.
The room was defiantly smaller than the full library a fraction even filled with boxes filled with books. Some taped shut some open ended on their side. Several towers of boxes were stationed throughout the room. Sam raised an eyebrow under his ice armor. ”You sure you want to do this? Either way I am going to get you to stop, I’d really prefer to not get physical.”
Tell me about your rough couple of days... Oh really, he was going for THAT angle huh? Her answer was already in action though and she was back in the storage room before any retaliation followed. She didn't miss the way the ice formed over the guys body though, and that was a small level for concern. But at least in the back she figured she could find some better projectiles. The books were only going to go so far. At this point, she needed something with a bit more... bite to it.
Into the room, back behind a row of boxes she started looking for the right amo. Finally she spotted an empty glass bottle on a desk and snatched it before starting up a wall of books. She moved fast, least the tower freeze over in the cold air that was coming after her, and then at the top she perched carefully and sneered down at the guy.
"Under arrest huh? You gonna handcuff me too?" She gave a smirk and laughed rolling her eyes and sitting down, shifting the bottle in her hand. "Well I've attacked an officer before and that one tried to shoot me. But if you want to get physical, by all means..." Her arms started glowing again and she dropped the explosive in the bottle then tossed it down to the mutant. "Let's get physical. Drinks on me." She jumped from the box, plotting a course for the emergency exit that would be further down the narrow room. She wasn't sure what would happen when the cold reached her, but she was pretty sure she should stay one step ahead.

She was looking down at him again as Sam entered the room she was defiantly a quick one and she seemed to have a thing for the high ground. No matter though the high ground or the low ground didn’t matter much to him if everything was covered in ice. Not that he was planning on that route right away but it was always a solution should she get a bit too aggressive though if her current actions were any indication of things to come he had a feeling things would get cod fast.
>>>"Under arrest huh? You gonna handcuff me too?"
Sam shrugged under his ice armor, ”If that is the sort of thing your into I have a pair and I can make some out of ice as well.” he smirked under his armor as well forcing the actual armor to have a smirking appearance as well. She had another run in with the police meaning she had no problem being violent meaning Sam really needed to bring her in now. He sighed slightly as the green from her hands shifted to a bottle, which she threw in his direction. Sam wasn’t worried about the glass however the green energy was another story. Seeing as he never encountered the woman or her powers before he figured it be better to be safe than sorry.
An ice wall went up in between him and the glass bottle and he smirked to himself as the girl made an attempt to get out of the room with him. She new not to tussle with him directly from what he could tell. ‘Smart’ Sam thought to himself as he could feel the woman running.
Ice started to form on the floor in front of her and the door. The room wasn’t huge so it wasn’t like it was out of his range. The bottle exploded and with it the ice wall he created as green light filled the room. Sam started to laugh, ”Not the kind of drinks I’m used to. More of a beer guy next time you want to get me one.”
Tses chuckled over her shoulder, the sound of shattering ice having an almost pretty twinkling sound in her mind. She didn't let her attention wander long, however, and it was a good thing when the path in front of her iced up. Rather than slow down, she jumped onto the ice and slid a few feet, spinning as she did and putting her hands on her hips to face the mutant. Her green light made the floors glisten like green crystals, and the room reflected her self generated energy. It could almost be pretty if they weren't playing a dangerous game.
"While the offer is amusing, I'm not really into the vigilante sort. Even the cute ones with eye patches." She teased, leaning against the closed door that appeared locked from this side. That wasn't a big problem, locks were her specialty. As for the guy... well, he might be cute, but she had sworn off dating anyway so it wouldn't matter one way or the other.
"I prefer sour gummy worms with my liquor, not explosives, but they work just fine as an accessory to men. Ever played marbles?" She formed a tiny explosive and flicked it off one of the boxes. It ricocheted a few times before the condensed energy released and it popped somewhere close to the approaching mutant.

Sam tried not to be impressed when she slid on the ice towards the door while looking at him with a look egging him on. He was however and decided he might need to be a little more aggressive towards the capture of the sprightly woman who just called him cute.
”Good thing I’m not a vigilante then huh?” Sam said knowing he told her he worked with and for the police, which was the reason he was here in the first place trying to arrest her. If he were just a vigilante he would have passed on the breaking and entering call and went to something a little more intense like a bank robbery or a fire. Or a riot. Sam spotted a stopped clock on the wall and was reminded he was on a tight schedule.
Sam started running towards her only to veer away when he dodged the oncoming green marble she just produced and threw in his direction or rather towards the walls. Sam noticed it bounced a few times before it went off. He started to wonder if she controlled the explosion or it was a timed think like a grenade. ”Noted, I’ll be sure to bring you a sour gummy worm beverage while your behind bars, deal?” Sam asked as he shot a beam of ice towards the doors she was closest to even if she wasn’t able to escape through them.
He then shifted his gaze back towards the door he just entered from and willed a thin layer of ice to form over the frame as well making it more difficult to escape. ” Any chance you got a name? I feel like you’d be a Megan, or a Sara even. Your very…” Sam shot a cold blast towards her then finished his thoughts, ”Sprightly.” he paused then added, ”Maybe even Tinkerbell?”
Tses shrugged her shoulders at his remark, forming another explosive and letting it linger in her palm for a moment. "It's all the same to me. Cops, vigilantes, they're all just people who get in my way. I don't care if you have a badge or not. Makes no difference to me."
And then the conversation got cold, in a literal sense. The door behind her was hit with ice and she darted to the side, stepping carefully on the slick ice. She had found on the streets in the winter a few times, and the only way to survive one of those fights was to stay on your feet. Falling now would be loosing, and she wasn't planning on that. "I'd appreciate the visit, but I don't want to waste your time there. I'm more than happy to just waste it here," She reached into her boot and pulled out her bo staff, the metal collapsible weapon expanding with a click, and she leaned on it casually. She still had a knife is she needed it, but keeping distance with her attacker was preferred. Close combat with a mutant was never smart. She got her wrist busted once before she learned that.
Then he started guessing names, and she tilted her head at the last one. Having watched little television and obviously lacking an appreciation for literature, she frowned at the reference. "What the heck is a Tinker-bell?" She moved slowly away from the door, scanning the boxes as she did for another path.

”Here I was thinking I was special.” Sam said smirking to the girl as he noticed she formed another explosive in her hand. Sam silently made note of that as well to delayed explosions. So she wasn’t the type to just randomly create them they have to be created by her hands, or so he was thinking for all he knew the girl was putting on a show for him it defiantly wouldn’t be the first time that happened.
”Don’t think spending time with a pretty girl would be what I consider wasting time.” Sam was about to take a step forward towards her till she reached down to her boot. Sam blinked once and raised his arms up to protect his face incase it was a gun but lowered them slightly into a fighting stance once he spotted it was an extendable, ”Bo staff?” Sam asked out loud though more to himself.
Sam debated on creating a weapon himself but decided to hold off and see what Tinkerbell was capable of. He still didn’t know if she could use her powers without her hands unless she planned on just using the bo staff as means to keep him far enough away to actually use them. Sam smirked, it seemed this wasn’t the first time she tussled with someone.
He took a few steps forward then slowed making sure to keep an eye out for green projectiles and to give her a confused look, ”TInkerbell? The little green fairy? The one that follows Peter Pan around? Come on….” he paused slightly and dropped his guard trying to explain with his hands, ”Come on! I didn’t even see that growing up and I know that one!” Sam said sure she was joking with him.
"Special," Tses laughed and grinned at him, shaking her head from side to side so her pigtails bounced. "The only way you'd be special is if you actually got me in a jail cell. Unless your as quick on your feet as you are with your mouth, that may be a challenge for you."
The ice was solid enough on the door, but a well placed explosive and blow with the bo staff might be enough to break it. She'd have to take out her companion first though, and that would mean fighting and possibly loosing. She didn't like playing with odds. The air vents were another option, but the last thing she needed was him blasting her once she climbed inside. She stalled and continued thinking.
"You can flatter all you want, I'm not your typical skirt you can sweet talk into blushing. I've had burnin' buildings collapse on me, fallen off fire escapes, broken more bones than I know... got all the scars to prove it too. Only things I care about are if it's dangerous and if it's fun. You don't seem like either." She taunted. She watched him step forward, and continued her slow curved path to the left. It was a circular tango to keep herself out of a corner, and she noted the light fixture above their heads. Caged light, old fashioned. A good shot could at least take it out and reduce visibility....
"Sorry, grew up on the streets, didn't want many movies. But I'm not fallin' any 'peter' around so you can drop the nick-name." She flicked the explosive in her hand off towards him, letting it blow up before it reached him like a warning shot. Her expression grew more serious and she shrugged. "Name's Tses. T-s-e-s, first S is silent. And if you catch me you can try to stamp that on my rap sheet. You know, the one I don't have." She took a dart onto the nearest box, scrambling to move before he could freeze them in front of her. She created a handful of marble sized explosives and tossed them down in a hailstorm, their force weak but the 7 or so little explosives still making a statement.

Sam hardly moved when she fired the next shot it didn’t come close enough to get him to move so he didn’t’ bother. ”Your starting to sound like my typical skirt then.” Sam said with a slight chuckle recalling all the girls he had a run in with during a crisis. The more he thought about it the more he started to realize those were the ones that tended to stick around a little longer than the other ‘skirts’ it was then Sam realized just what she had said. The word boring and plain came to mind when she said she was only interested in the dangerous and fun. Sam lowered his eyebrow and willed the air in the room to become even colder.
”I’m gonna pretend you didn’t call me boring.” Sam said as started to move out of the way from the little green marbles she was producing. None of the explosions were that big but he was pretty sure they’d still sting if they hit. Jumping back more Sam looked up to the lighting in the room and willed an ice shard to form in his hand. ”Well Tses, when I do manage to catch you I’ll be sure to add Tink, under known alias.” Sam let out a little laugh and threw the ice shard into the lighting causing it to spark then shatter.
Sam then added, ”Not really the type to wear tights and my name isn’t Pete, so you can dismiss that idea.” Another shard went up and struck the second light causing it to spark then shatter as well. The room was dark now other than the glowing green around Tses’s hands and arms. ”Name’s Sam, I’m sure you’ll remember it.” Sam said laughing in the darkness as he moved further and further away from the box TInkerbell was on.
With the air chilled and darkened Sam had the advantage. Quickly he activated his mutation further adding a dense mist into the air making visibility even with her little green explosions of light difficult. Sam laughed again as he moved from one wall to the other still feeling exactly where the woman was. ”You sure you don’t want to just give up?” Sam asked hoping he could save some time. He still didn’t know if she could use her powers and the staff so he decided to keep himself at a distance for now but that didn’t stop another cold breeze to sweep across her back along with a few shards of ice impaling the box she was standing on just to give the girl a good startle.
Tses's mouth twitched slightly and she rolled her eyes. She was glad the last part of her statement got to him though. It saved her the effort of having to waste a punch communicating her irritation. Served him right. He called her typical. "You can pretend, doesn't change the facts though dearie. You need to work on your charm a little more, or stop bein' such a law-abidin stick in the mud." She felt the room get colder, and quickened her pace to distance herself. She may enjoy danger, but if he froze these boxes she could quite likely take a nose dive down a giant stack of ice cubes.
And then he went and took out the light not too far from where she was standing. The sparks were a little close for comfort and then the room darkened. She could still see well enough, the lights from her arms illuminating the area around her. But that was also planting a giant target on her location. Suddenly, she was glad she hadn't been dumb enough to do it herself. If he was taking that route, he could obviously see fine in the dark.
Yet he hadn't ducked the book...
She kicked open a nearby box with her foot, and fished out the first three paperbacks on top. One, two, three went sailing towards the ice mutant, and then she grabbed a few more for the road. "You see like you could be into the tights. I'n that part of the super hero thing? The tights and the spandex? Maybe you'll try a pair someday twinkle toes. Match your eyepatch." She slid a little going down the other side of the boxes, but managed to turn it into forward motion and pranced at the end a bit to cover the mistake. The boxes were frosting now, and it would be better to stay lower to the ground in case she did fall.
"You act like you've made some big impression on me. All you've done is follow me around and try your best to talk me out of fighting, Sam. That's what cops do, and I don't make a habit of remembering their names anymore than I will with yours." She sent another explosive over her shoulder, growing a bit more cautious with the ones she was using now. It wasn't dark yet, and the last thing she wanted was to run out of energy.
Give up... that was almost comical and she felt the laugh slip from her mouth to show him just how much. "Can't say I've ever been a quitter. If I'm gonna start somethin', I'm gonna finish it. You better come get me cuz I ain't bringin' myself to you." Another book, a bit of a spin on this one, aimed for the head she saw just around the other side of the box. Her breathe was starting to show in the air. Moving was just as much to keep warm now as anything else.
