The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

As Carrick, or what Serena assumed was still Carrick, was attacking the other people in a fit of rage, Liz passed out in Serena's arms. She was not happy about this, how could Liz's boyfriend do this? Serena could have sworn he had control over his mutation!
Yet here Liz was, passed out in her arms, from a mixture of shock, sadness and fear.
A pang of guilt hit Serena. She was judging Carrick for not controlling an aspect of his mutation, when she herself had very limited control in many aspects of her own ability. To her credit, she had gotten much, much better at it. But still, she could feel lingering guilt at her rash, judgmental thoughts.
She gently layed Liz on the ground, and propped her up against a bench. She stood in front of Liz, shielding her unconscious friend with her very body. Staring at the beast which was her roommate's boyfriend.
As Serena weighed up her options, she wondered what Liz would do in this situation. Probably try to calm Carrick down... With her powers, maybe.
Serena couldn't do that, however she could try her hand at reasoning with Carrick, the real person must still be somewhere inside of the primal beast which now fought before her.
She placed her fingers in her mouth, and proceeded to give a sharp, loud whistle. "Hey Carrick! Lion tail, yeah! I'm talking to you buster!" she yelled.
Serena felt a strange unexpected surge of confidence. She figured it must have been because she was busy trying to protect her friend. It was welcome.
Fangs dug into the neck of the minotaur mutant as he screamed out in pain and started smacking Carrick on the head with his over sized fists Carrick let go once the hits started to hurt and managed to jump a few feet away from him as he collapsed against the wall holding the spot where Carrick’s elongated fangs took a large chunk. Carrick’s beast form lowered and he growled as people started to back up away from him. ‘fight?’ Carrick thought as he looked around his tail twitching like he was about to pounce.
Outside from the circle of scared mutants and humans Carrick’s mutated ears lifted and twitched when he heard a familiar voice, He didn’t know who was speaking but it caught his attention, which was impressive due to the people still fighting outside of the small circle that encompassed Carrick. A flash of gold and his cat like eyes fixed on the blonde.
>>>>"Hey Carrick! Lion tail, yeah! I'm talking to you buster!" she yelled.
Carrick’s head tilted to the side and he looked past the woman to see what was his slumped on the bench behind her. Carrick’s eyes blinked once and his heart started to beat faster. He looked back to the other blonde and he blinked again. Did she take what was his? Is she standing in the way? He was still for a moment trying to process everything that was going on. That was when two people fell in front of him startling him and in turn causing him to go on the offensive.
Carrick pushed down to the ground and jumped on the two before him talons swiping at them as they screamed out in pain. Blood started to puddle around the two as they laid still screaming and clutching where they were just attacked. Carrick leaped forward towards the first blonde who was standing in the way of what he was his. He snarled as he jumped trying to scare her out of the way so he could take what was his. ‘Mine’ thought the beast as he snapped open his wings and had his eyes locked on Liz.
Serena watched while the Carrick beast battled in a massive melee, tearing into everyone and everything around him. She was beginning to think that the getting his attention idea may not have been the best idea she could have possibly come up with...
She shook it off. No, she would protect her friend, and the other people if she could. She needed to get through to the beast which was currently... Roaring at her.
He pounced forwards. She stood in front of him, and spread her arms wide across her currently unconscious roommate. She was shaking. Why was she shaking?
Because you're in front of a monster you've just seen tear people to pieces, who also happens to be your friend, and is busy trying to get to and possibly eat your roommate, silly.
She took a breath before yelling "STOP!" She took another one before continuing. "Carrick, It's me. Your friend, Serena. Do you remember me?" her voice was firm and unyielding up until the question, which sounded more like a plea from a friend.
The words"Please don't make me hurt him, please, please" kept repeating themselves over, and over in her head.
The blonde didn’t move and the beast blinked his mismatched colored eyes. He let out a low snarl, as he smelled the fear on her she was scared but still she didn’t move. She spoke but the words didn’t reach Carrick they fell on the deaf ears of the beast. Carrick’s beast like body stood erect instead of on all fours. He growled and his eyes fixed on Liz, she was his and for some reason she didn’t move when he called.
Carrick’s eyes were tired of looking through the scared one his gaze shifted and he snarled and let out another low grumble however he was far less aggressive than he was moments before. She was scared but she had a calming affect on him. Carrick’s body shifted and his fangs started to become hidden behind his lips as his snarl ceased. Carrick was about to lower his talons before something hit him.
The beast blinked and he was looking down at the ground with a sharp pain in his right wing. Carrick’s body reacted to the one ho struck him he went from starting to be passive to the alpha once again. Carrick roared and bared his fangs into the prey’s neck. All his instincts were screaming, ‘Kill!’
Serena calmed slightly. As she seemed to be having a mildly calming effect on Carrick, not much, but enough that he didn't look like he was about to maul someone. She needed to get it a step further now, to calm him down to the point where she could approach, and maybe figure out what had caused this violent transformation.
Then something hit Carrick, and he retaliated. Serena felt a wave of anxiety wash over her. What was she going to do? How would she calm him down...?
Need. To. Breath.
As blood was drawn again, Serena felt her mind focus, as if she had just been the recipient of a very cold bucket of water being dropped on her head. Carrick was out of control, he clearly wanted to hurt, or take Liz. Serena couldn't let that happen.
Serena also couldn't be injured too badly herself, otherwise she wouldn't be able to help anyone, or look after Liz.
Final thing she couldn't let happen. Carrick, could not kill these people. Serena would NOT allow it.
She activated her mutation, by this point, there was so much blood around that she had plenty to work with. She saw one of the mutants who had assumed she was a human bystander's eyes widen. The blood danced around her. Several litres of it. This should be plenty.
Serena didn't actually think she had used this much blood at once before. Oh well. She took the torrent that was dancing around her, and thrust her palm forward, it responded.
The blood darted towards the fighting. Rushing between Carrick and his target in a fast moving, powerful torrent.
"Hey! Who said you could ignore me?!" Serena gulped. She took several steps to the side, making sure that there was some blood with her so that the beast would identify her as the user... This was such a bad plan.
The prey in his mouth flailed as he screamed trying to shake Carrick’s beast form off but there was no way anything could separate himself from his prey. Nothing in the world that-
>>>>"Hey! Who said you could ignore me?!"
A flash or red and Carrick was being separated from his prey with a final slash of his talons in an attempt to grab onto him again Carrick looked around as a color of red danced around him. Carrick let out a low growl and slashed at it causing it to separate then go back to where it was before he slashed it. This made Carrick angry he was an alpha things like this shouldn’t happen.
His cat like darted around until he spotted the blonde waving her hands towards him and the red that was swirling around him. Carrick let out a snarl and slowly backed away from the red. It didn’t flinch and didn’t run when he growled or snarled. Baring his fangs again Carrick looked to the blonde standing then he spotted his mate. She was his and this female smelling of fear was in near him trying to distract him from her.
Carrick made another be-line for Liz running on all fours and dodging anyone and anything that stood in his way.
Serena quickly saw that she had made a mistake. She drew all of the blood back to her as she ran. And then threw herself over the unconscious Liz. Shielding her with her own body. She then willed the blood to form a large, dense shell around her and her roommate.
She wrapped her arms around Liz and held her tightly. Serena wasn't sure how long the barrier would hold. She didn't have much practice making barriers.
Serena wondered if Carrick knew about this transformation, or had any sort of control over it. It was funny, she was always the one with the dangerous mutation in her mind when she was around others.
Yet, here she was, using herself and her power as a shield, while her roommate's boyfriend went berserk and tried to eat both of them. She willed more blood to reinforce the barrier.
Serena scoured her mind, looking for something, anything that she could do to contain this situation.
The scared one stood in front of him again and then a bubble of red appeared around her and what was his. Carrick’s mouth opened with a snarl as he flapped his wings a few time trying to determine if the bubble protected them on all sides. Another roar and Carrick landed on the bubble of red digging his talons into the blood. Carrick scratched and clawed his way attempting to break through the shield. Liz was in there and she was hurt he had to make sure what was his was all right.
When he couldn’t break through he let out another roar and started to pace around the shield hoping her could find an opening. That was until a baseball bat hit him from behind. Carrick’s left wing snapped under the pressure of the bat and he let out a painful roar much different from the ones he had been letting lose previously.
Whipping around his cat like eyes locked onto the thug with the bat. Carrick jumped and slashed at his face with his talons and then latched onto him. ‘Fight!’ fangs and claws dug through flesh easily enough much easier than when he attacked the red ball. His bloodlust made him forget about Liz now that he could now longer see her.
Serena clung to her unconscious friend as the monster attacked it in a frenzy of blows bounced off of the hard shell which now surrounded them. She was relieved when it held up. She was getting better at this. Serena heard a distinct thud. Followed by another foul noise from Carrick.
She saw his silhouette through the bubble dive at another one. She felt the terror stir in her gut. She didn't know how to react. Should she look outside? What about Liz though?
The bubble had already proved it was Carrick proof. She could just sit in her to protect Liz. No she could sit in here to hide. Suddenly Serena got a very bitter flash in her mind of her brother standing with his arms spread out in front of her, taking in a series of thundering rounds to protect her.
Her brow furrowed. It made her mad. If her big brother could protect her, she could protect others with her mutation. She stood slowly. Her arms were still shaking. Her brow further furrowed in concentration as she focused on a spot of the bubble in front of her, turning it back into liquid in a circle. like a window in a tiny house.
She rocked on her heels for a moment, before diving out of it. She quickly glanced back and hardened it again, leaving Liz completely protected.
Serena stood for a moment and thought out loud as she watched the scene in front of her, there were a few people injured, people were still running away, and there was plenty of spare blood. "Can I do this...?" Her voice came out an unconfident murmur
She saw Carrick tear into another person, drawing more blood, the man let out a rather ear piercing scream.
Her gaze hardened, and so did her focus. The blue glow re-ignited. She drew her arm up, so that she was pointing at him, she held her hand closed into a fist, and then quickly opened it out into a palm. In response to Serena's movements, the blood darted outwards and solidified, most of it was rounded, so it would bruise and push back, but not severely injure, the creature was after all her friend.
The man he was on top of went limp out of fear and due to the sudden blood loss when Carrick’s beast form had attacked. He was still latched on however just in case he was playing opossum. Carrick’s throat let out a low growl and then he was hit by something. He turned when he was forced away and swiped his talons at what ever attacked him. It didn’t contact where he wanted it too because what ever hit him didn’t have a body. It was red like the ball and then there was a blonde that wasn’t his behind it.
Carrick hopped back no longer able to use one of his wings seeing as the guy who he had just mauled had damaged it. ‘Fight? Flight?’ Carrick stared at the girl his voice low a still growling while he was bearing his teeth. Looking around Carrick was satisfied to see not a lot of people were around him. They must have recognized him as the Alpha. He liked that. The woman before him however that seemed familiar to him and smelled of fear still stood before him. The growling stopped for a second then he tilted his head slightly looking from the red to the blonde. ‘Mate?’
Carrick took a few steps forward on all fours trying to avoid the red that attacked him seconds before. He didn’t know what it was and it was what was keeping him from what was his. Sniffing the air Carrick caught a sent of Liz, his.
Turning towards the blonde and the red ball behind him he recalled that it was the thing that had had her. Carrick growled again and charged towards the red ball again and by extension Serena.
Serena smiled nervously as the beast seemed to notice her and began charging. Well, at least she had gotten it's attention, she could almost certainly hold her own against it better than the rest of the people in the area who were simply being torn to shreds.
"Well come on then." She said cooly.
As she finished her challenging words, a feeling of determination set in her gut, swiftly pushing out the gripping fear which had held there just moments before. She felt her limbs feeling lighter, her pupils dilated. The adrenal reaction to her situation was shifting into overdrive.
Her posture shifted to match her new mood and words. Her left leg shifted back slightly, grounding her in place, then her right arm moved forwards, with the palm facing her attacker.
She willed the pools of blood on the ground near the beast to lengthen into long lines as the creature galloped between them, she then pulled them off the ground, solidifying them like cables, adding the attack from earlier to the mix, she moved the cables of blood on the ground, as the beast galloped across them, she flicked her hand up, willing them to quickly dart up and constrict his movements.
Were he to be trapped by them, his limbs would be tied by extremely resilient bonds.
The one that smelled of fear needed to move, smelling the sudden burst of adrenaline in her made the beast in Carrick uneasy. She didn’t flee like she was supposed to when he roared, she was still keeping him from what was his. His mate was trapped in that ball still and Carrick wanted her back. More red flashed in his vision but didn’t attack him directly so he didn’t pay much mind to it. Pushing his legs down and ready to pounce forward Carrick’s body lurched up and was then brought back down a tugging feeling around his limbs. Carrick didn’t like that. He didn’t like that one bit.
Shifting his mismatched cat like eyes Carrick let out a snarl and tried pulling his front claws and realized they didn’t move much. The red was holding him back now. Carrick let out a roar and snapped his wings open, one still failed to open all the way due to it being hit from earlier. Pushing and attempting to fight the bonds Carrick started to thrash about his tail whipped widely behind him as he snarled and rolled with no luck then he took his fangs and talons and started to scratch at the bonds that would try to restrain him. He had to get free.
Serena's face was becoming even paler than usual, although she couldn't see it, she could feel beads of sweat dripping down her forehead. She had to end this fast,
She glared into the vicious beast's eyes. She gave it a look of utter defiance. "I don't care who you are, you are NOT getting Liz." the haemokinetic gritted her teeth.
Serena flipped her arms up, one rose into the air and the other dropped low and her palm opened, the extra blood on the floor gathered and she willed it to shape into a large, blunt heavy object, akin to a giant hammer.
She then lifted it, her vision was beginning to blur around the edges, she could hear something In the background, loud. Sirens maybe?
She brought down the hammer with one hand, with a large amount of force, intending to knock out the creature, with the other hand she willed the last of the remaining blood to form a cage around the creature.
Her vision wa beginning to fill with black spots now.

((OOC : Sorry about being late to the party. ))
Someone had called the police. He'd arrived as soon as he could. Unfortunately, judging by the looks of it, things had already boiled over and the pot had burned. It was a mess. The Asian's partner moved quicker than he did, giving orders on how to contain it. Raz ordered Shin to talk to the kids, while he took another pair of police officers to look at the injured.
Shin moved to do his job. "What happened?" His eyes focused on the unconscious girl, then moved to the one who was conscious and more capable of giving a reply.
There had been a fight. He knew that. But hearing the whole story helped. He'd need to get them medical help, too... and home, safe and sound.
The beast looked up through a blurred image after the hit and he collapsed face first. Cat like slits in his eyes shifted to the ball behind her and his claws reached out trying to grab it however he didn’t have the strength to continue. He wanted his mate, he needed to protect what was his but he couldn’t and the last thought of the beast before his claw dropped was ‘flee not alpha’.
Once the beast closed his eyes his body started to shift and ripple till a naked Carrick was laying on the concrete bound by the snares that once held the best. His body was bruised and battered from the fight his shifted form had gotten into, but that wasn’t all that remained. Slight alterations to his physical make-up, his teeth still remained slightly pointed, at least more so than normal humans and his ears were more angled almost elf like.
