Kaz walked along the halls until he found the room he was looking for: Lyn's. He heard the television through the door, even though it wasn't on very loud. "Lyn." He said as he knocked lightly. Flaminia Veradis was her real name, but Kaz called her Lyn because of her middle name, Rosalyn. He had called her Rosa once and got slapped, though she didn't seem to mind Lyn. A shuffling came from the bed as the woman made her way to the door. She knew it was him, only Kaz called her Lyn.
Opening the door, "What do you...What happened to you?" She was in a small, tight tank that showed her midsection and boy shorts. Opening the door all the way she walked towards her bed. "Well, get in here."
"Nice to see you too. It's a long story that I don't care to get into." Kaz was leaning on the door frame until she walked away and sat down. "Ya mind?" He motioned to his 'injuries'. As he walked in he looked at the T.V. "News? I thought you didn't like that crap?" He grabbed one of her chairs and sat in it backwards, arms resting on the back of the chair as he faced her. He looked her up and down. She was quite the exotic beauty, a 'brunette bombshell' as he heard her described once.
She was slightly disappointed that Kaz didn't sit next to her, once again, but she pushed that away. <He's a tough one...> Lyn waved the subject of his 'injuries' away getting the point. She thought as she looked to the T.V. "Yeah, some special report. Interrupted one of my shows. Something about mutant registration." She stood up and moved to stand next to Kaz. She moved her hands over his body, less than an inch above his skin. As she did, her hands and arms began to glow a golden color.
Kaz saw the look on her face <She really needs to learn how to hide that. The same look for five years now. Ever since I saved her from those jerks.> Kaz sighed inwardly. "Wait? Did you say Mutant Registration? You still record your shows right? Is this recorded too? Play it back from the beginning." He felt the tingle along his body as she 'checked' him.
Lyn rolled her eyes at Kaz, "Yes they're all recorded. Why are you so interested in it. Not like it'll actually happen." She finished checking him and finding the spots where he was hurt, the most recent was a bruise on his shoulder. Her left arm stopped glowing as she grabbed the remote from her bed. She rewound the show until it was at the beginning of the special report. As it started up, she went back to fixing the man.
"Yeah, you're probably right. But it could happen, and I'd like to get as much of the details as I can. Ya never really know when it comes to lawyers and politicians, both are a lying and deceitful breed, get whatever they want if they try." Kaz shrugged as she played the video back from the beginning. His eyes furrowed as he watched and listened, oblivious to the fact Lyn was done and now had her hands on his shoulders and her head on his. "So you watching one of your Soap Operas again? Just like an old hag." He said when it finished.
This was as close as she'd gotten to Kaz since he held her in his arms and carried her to a hospital years ago. She remembered waking up in the morning with Kaz in the chair next to her hospital bed, awake with his feet on the sill of the open window. She was shook from her daydream by Kaz's comment. "What? They're Dramas not Soap Operas. And I am NOT old! I'm only 27." She stood up straight as she spoke, then slapped the back of his head.
Kaz snickered as she slapped his head. "Like I said, old. Older than me at least. Even though you don't look close to it." Kaz stood and shut the T.V. off before heading towards the door. "Mind helpin a few others? Stories same as mine."
Lyn sighed, <Insulted and complimented...> "I suppose. Seeing as you ruined my good day. Kaz's 'injuries' hadn't drained her much, most seemed superficial at best. She moved to her dresser and grabbed a pair of light plaid pajama pants. Throwing them on she put some house slippers on and followed Kaz out the door towards the infirmary.
