The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Calley woke up curled comfortably on a twin-sized mattress, with various edges of his tiger bulk hanging just as comfortably off the bed. He'd never had a sleeping place he'd call uncomfortable, really. Just like he'd never had a sleep he'd call bad. Sleeping... was good. Good and true and wonderful. And therefore, its many-faced and sacred temples were, by extension, pure. Pure and comfy.
He stretched, re-curled. Twitched an ear. There was no reason to get up, was there? They served breakfast until eleven. So that was a no. He let his eyes close again...
“Calley,” came Hunter’s voice, “Good job on getting into the Sanctuary. While you are there I want you to continue you’re usual information gathering but with a few additional instructions.”
“First, find out everything you can about Syn. Be careful though, as she has some sort of ability to persuade you to her way of think. Make sure you don’t reveal anything while you are there. Second you are only to reveal that you can turn into a tiger, that is the extent of your powers as far as any sanctuary resident is to know.

Calley
...It seemed very wrong for the Scary Boss Man's voice to violate the sanctity of Calley's pre-sleep drifting haze. He yawned, and stretched again. The bit about Syn was interesting. The rest was either common sense or what he'd been planning to do already. "Murr," he said, batting at his collar a little. Understood, Boss Man. Understood.
Calley kind of shied into the Sanctuary, dodging around corners to get into his room without really talking to anyone. Or seeing anyone. Well, having anyone see him, at least. He had to figure that somewhere, in a room lined with cameras, a security guard was watching his progress with raised eyebrows. Especially when the teenager on the screen struck a pose with his back to one wall as two people walked past him, oblivious. Especially especially since the teen was miming holding a gun with his hands. The security guard would no doubt think what most people did: that this particular teen was a little too... dramatic (this guard liked to put things nicely)... to be taken seriously.
There was a pretty big difference between "serious" and "dangerous", though. Calley was not dangerous in the traditional sense of the word. Calley was--dramatic pause--stealth ninja dangerous. Oh yeah. He poked his mimed gun around the corner, peering out with one eye. Then he bolted to his room, shut the door behind himself, and flopped back on the bed. He'd reached the save point--safe!
squeeee-kak!
His pocket sounded a bit tortured, though. He fished out his lime green squeaky hedgehog, and started absently playing with it over his head as he lay on the bed. Heh. Pretty soon, he'd have to deal with the Order, and explain just what he'd been doing in a certain alleyway with a certain sketch artist mutant who'd been rather dramatically rescued. By the way, the fact that he hadn't been rescued? He was infinitely grateful to Hunter for that. He was very confident that he and his squeaky toy could talk their way out of this one, especially if Abyss was the one that questioned them. Syn... would be a little more tricky, but he had an idea for that, if it came to it. What would have been really really hard to explain would be showin' up here later if Hunter had rescued him. So he liked to think that the Scary Boss Man had thought that one through, rather than thinkin' that the man had just sort of left him there to fend for himself. It was obviously a sign of trust. Yeah.
squuuuuue-kak!
Calley could keep himself quite entertained until someone knocked on his door. He'd told Abyss which room was his, and he hadn't exactly been making it a secret to any security camera watchers. Not that he'd been showing off at all for the cameras.
squeee!
...Heh. He hoped Abyss came. He liked the big red mutant with the awesome monkey tail.
((ooc: In this thread, writing in this color is by Abyss. The posts were deleted; I’ve reposted them with his permission.))
Abyss had thought about the best way to do this and he had come to a conclusion pretty quickly. It was a simple enough plan, one that he could follow hopefully. He didn't want to be too harsh with the boy, but it was better for him to be too harsh, then to have someone else's idea of harsh come into play. He walked down the hall and considered knocking on Isabel's door first to see what she knew about the young man but he refrained as he didn't want to make her aware encase this went badly. If he was a spy perhaps his silliness was an act and he was truly dangerous. It's all possible he supposed. He sighed as he raised his large fist to the door and then dropped twice on the heavy wooden door.

Calley
Calley sort of jumped with the knock finally came. Two knocks, actually, but he only jumped once. squeee! He sat up on the bed, shoving the lime green squeaky hedgehog back in his pocket. Moment of truth: was it Abyss, or was it Syn? Or--and this would be truly traumatic--the twins? Or even someone else? Urk. He crossed his legs on the bed top, and took a deep breath. Let it out.
Then hopped off the bed, reached the door in two long hopping strides, and pulled it open. If you do things quickly, you can trick yourself into not being nervous about them. A red face met his gaze. Calley beamed happily up at the man. "Hello, Sir! Would you like to come in?"
Abyss nodded at Calley's face not quite meeting it with a smile, He looked at the young man and and let out a sigh. He then went over a random piece of furniture and set down on top of it, He looked to Calley and raise his Eyebrows. First phase, Silence. Abyss noticed one thing about the boy, he was more than happy to talk, let him talk and he would he would let Calley lead the interrogation as long as it was productive. He waited to see if and how Calley responded to his blandness.
He glanced around the room and tried to gage how long he had been here, not long from the looks of it, but then again several of the occupants here didn't decorate much. He looked to the bed where the bright green squeaky toy rested. this could be fun as long as it didn't have to end violently, he could tell he would feel bad for awhile if this went the wrong way.

Calley
Calley sat on his bed as Abyss came in, and took out the lime green squeaky hedgehog again. With an air of great friendship, he sat it next to him, its cold plastic nose pointed towards the awesome man. Then he crossed his legs in front of him, and waited.
And waited.
And waited, for about three seconds, for the man to speak. He'd pretty much been expecting the man to speak, what with the man probably having questions, considering that was a rather question-raising last encounter they'd had. Yep.
He started twitching. It was little at first: his fingers started tapping on his knees. Then he sort of bobbed his head a little. Then, since the lime green squeaky hedgehog was feeling left out, he balanced it on his head, and started the finger tapping again. But not so much the head bobbing. The lime green squeaky hedgehog didn't like that.
Approximately fifty-seven seconds after Abyss had started giving him the silent treatment, Calley cracked, and started talking. "That was cool, with the making-a-copy of yourself thing. How many can you make at a time?" When cracking, it's best to ask questions about the other person. Talking about yourself... Was strictly unnecessary.
For Abyss the wait was brief it was almost entertaining to see the young mans patience race away from him, He imagined this is what it would be like to have found a kid brother doing something wrong. He almost wanted to ask him if he had been playing ball in the house and was the one that broke the vase. Abyss then smiled to himself why not it would throw him off probably and put him at ease, good cop bad cop was easy to play by himself. but he had other that could do the work for him. Abyss looked at him and furrowed his Eyebrows. " I can't say. not just yet. You see, we have a broken vase, and we need to find out who has been playing ball in the house. me I might help put the vase back together and no one else needs to know. but say if Mom or dad find out, well we might be in a totally diffrent situation." for now he would handle it, if he needed a bad cop one was readily available. heck six were available.
"Calley I have been doing a lot of thinking about this broken vase and who could have broken it and well honestly, I think it might be you. The Pieces were lying there on the floor and well I'm just putting them together." He stated casually, If you need too I will provide the glue and we can make everything right. I like you, and I don't want you in trouble with anyone. But I can only do that, if it was you who broke the vase, and you want to help put it back together."
Abyss thought this was a clever ananlogy and thought that his Mr.clever attitude toward the whole thing might amuse him.

Calley
Calley blinked twice, then once more, because three was his favorite number.
"Umm," he replied carefully, "Umm. I think that's a metaphor, maybe? Or a simile? Umm, just so you know, I probably would have failed that part of English even if I hadn't been sorta figuring out my powers then and sorta failing at life in general. I'm not really that smart." This was a very true statement. He could not think of a single person who would disagree with that statement. "So... I think, you mean I'm in trouble?" He didn't have to try to sound confused--the fancy not-saying-what-was-meant talking had quite effectively done that for him. "What did I do, Sir?" He shrank down a little. The lime green squeaky hedgehog slid off his head; he caught it as it fell towards his lap, and started playing with it in his hands. "If it's all right to ask. Sir." He suddenly straightened up, a small smile on his lips. "Hey, is Syn 'Dad'?" He tapped the squeaky against his chin thoughtfully. "Does that make you 'Mom'?"
Listening intently to what they boy had to say, he listened to the honesty of what he had said about figuring out his power and not thinking he was smart. Abyss laughed before he could stop himself at the last comment. " no Calley I'm not mom. Syn is mom and dad's name starts with an H." He was showing his hand here. " he was pretty sure that Calley was playing dumb but if not he could spell it out for him. " and don't call yourself dumb, uneducated fine, but not smart no. I can prove it Calley. " as he thought about it the more it made sense. " what is your power? it might just take the work out of it for me." he waited for the reaction to these other two, if he was dangerous then he would prove it now and it there would be a lot more broken in the house than vases.

Calley
Calley tilted his head, and relocated the lime green squeaky hedgehog to his shoulder so it could have a better view of their conversation. So Dad's name started with an 'H', did it? No one who he knew in the Order had a name that started with--
--Urk. Was Abyss trying to say something? 'Cause if Abyss was trying to say something, than Calley wasn't really liking it. He moved his head, so he was hugging the squeaky between his shoulder and his neck. "I can turn into a tiger, Sir. But I don't really see how that proves I'm not dumb." And he felt pretty stupid for not seeing.
" The tiger isn't what makes you makes you smart, its you, its in their if you apply it or not." Abyss said frustrated, he hated when people didn't see their strengths. " but thats beside the point, the vase is our secrecy. The orders secrecy." Abyss hesitated for a second, almost second guessing himself, nope he was sure. " Derrick said that Kitra, You and himself were all employed at the same place, he then mentioned that you didn't work there any more, but that was a bit to late. Kitra called for help into a watch. Kaz got a watch for hunter and said that it was the same place as where syn got her cell phone. You know the twins, syn and Isabel. Kaz and I were never secretive in the first place." Abyss stood up. "Kitra works for hunter Derrick worked for hunter and quiet honestly I don't want you to work for hunter, but you do. deny it and lie to one of the friends you may still have, your boss just killed that man out right, his blood was on me this night because of a sniper. Can you contact him? We need to talk the two of us." Abyss didn't let Calley get a word in , he attempted to overwhelm him with information. He was sure he was right weather he denied it or not.

Calley
((ooc: Nice, Abyss. Nice.))
squeeeeeee-! The lime green squeaky hedgehog didn't really like this side of Abyss. Calley had to agree with the toy's inherent wisdom. Abyss knew quite a lot. Quite-A-Lot. The silver chain around Calley's neck felt rather cold all of the sudden.
He would rather not explode today, if it was all the same. So he tilted his head, and tried that honest answer thing Hunter had him workin' on: "Hunter feeds me. And he sends me out on errands sometimes, but not usually or anything. I don't really contact him or anything--I just sorta show up at his business, and the workers let me get stuff from the canteen. He's kind of a cool guy." In a scary abusive violent murderous way; Calley couldn't stop a very small shudder from going through his body. "I met Issie at a bar this one night, and we went to see a movie, and we came back here and I got a room because I didn't really have a place to stay just then. I know the twins and Syn 'cause I've seen them around here. Guess they haven't noticed me. I'm not really that stand-out-ish." He shrugged, and tossed the squeaky from hand-to-hand, a little nervously. Honestly, he was a little afraid that he wasn't acting nervous enough. "Umm, did Hunter really kill that guy? Why? And what's the Order?"
Truth was a wonderful thing. Beautiful, elegant, and full of an innocent potential for deceit.
Abyss folded his arms across his chest it was time to add a bit of crazy to the mix, he was the resident of a institution for nearly a year, he could do crazy. "say I was convinced, which I'm not. you would still have to convince the others, "And the others think that you are lying, the others aren't happy about that. I think that we should stay friends Calley." He looked down then back up at Calley almost pleading. "Does Isabel know you can turn into a tiger? does it say so in your file? "He looked at Calley. " so you admit to working for hunter, that is enough for me then, Where do you find his sight, I will contact him, I wish you didn't lie to me Calley come on we are going to talk to him."

Calley
Calley sort of rolled his eyes up, like he was looking through files in his brain. Really, he was just trying to keep the big red guy's rapid-fire questions straight in his mind. "Umm, I don't think he'd be really thrilled if I brought you to his work with me. Why don't you try contacting him through this Kaz friend of yours? And yeah, Issie knows. But it doesn't say so in my file thingie, if you mean that sheet Lisa made me fill out, 'cause I really don't like people knowing about me so I maybe kinda didn't answer that question in the most completely honest and correct manner possible." He took a breath after that sentence. Then he leaned forward, and asked with quite a bit of enthusiasm: "The others? Do you mean those copies of you can actually think, and stuff--they aren't just you? Can I meet them? How many are there? Do they have names? Do they have the same personality as you, or are they each different? Do they really live in your head? Are they all red? Are any of them lime green? Do they like me?" Take that, Abyss' questions! He quite happily aimed to overwhelm the man's train of thought with his own curiosity.
Abyss tilted his head at the first statement, He then looked a bit serious "they aren't me and they say there are enough of them to take a tiger." he raised his eye brows and looked apologetic. " Listen Calley I am convinced you are a spy, Why would I describe, to you the nature of our power?" he asked rhetorically. and I don't want to talk with Hunter about Kaz, he can handle himself, I want to talk to him about you, if I were any one of the others you wouldn't be here talking, you would be fighting for your life, I don't mean just my others either, the twins, the boss, most of the people here, if they knew one of our own were giving out information you'd be in trouble kid. I don't appreciate people who make them do what they want. Because they want it. I don't like people who try to get a leg up on someone and then offer their hand to shake. Abyss stood up and I'm also not in the business of caring whether other people will like if I show up where I show up. also you won't be bringing me, I will be bringing you." at this point he appealed to Calley's, since of adventure." you like motorcycles?"

Calley
Calley went for the wide-eyed startled look. "Spy? Wait, what? How'd you get that I was a...?" On second thought: maybe it wasn't a good idea to innocently defend his innocent self to a big red guy who could take him even without bringing his clones in on things. He tried to make himself look small. "...So, I guess that means they don't like me. Err... I'm sorry, but I don't really get how turning into a tiger makes me a spy, Sir. Sirs." He really wasn't sure how many he was addressing here. He'd known that occasionally, it seemed like the Abyss he was purring at was a different Abyss than the first one he'd met. But he'd never gotten a count on them. He really wasn't sure what to say, after that.
But he did like motorcycles. Or he thought he did. He sat up a little straighter. "I've never been on one before, Sir." He shrunk back down again almost immediately. "This is about visiting the Boss Man, isn't it?"
Abyss shook, his head at Calley "You work for Hunter, Hunter knows things about us, and I found you, have you told him about anything you saw, here?" he looked at him and nodded, almost as if he were leading him to it. " then that makes you a spy.the tiger part is just a bonus, I would have noticed a tiger running around, here, that isn't what makes you a spy."
"yup, it is about visiting, your boss." he said the last with a ring of triumph as if he had the full confession he was wanting. Abyss looked at Calley, "It is simple you will hold on to my back as tightly as you can, but first, where shall we be going to meet Hunter?" he looked at Calley " If you don't want him to be your boss any more, I can make that happen." with that Abyss popped his neck and waved him on to follow him, making his way down to the garage.

Calley
"Aggh-!" Calley flopped back on the bed, and threw the lime green squeaky hedgehog in the general direction of Abyss' chest. There was no need to for the joyful toy to get caught up in the imminant blood splatter.
...Calley's surprise when he was still alive, thirty seconds later... forty seconds later... fifty seconds later... actually, he was so surprised that he didn't quite know what to do. ...Sixty seconds later... seventy seconds... Either someone at the Labs wasn't doing their job, or Calley was somewhat-forgiven. He had no delusions about being completely forgiven over this. He had no delusions about how painful it was to get tossed into a wall, either. Hopefully Hunter would keep in mind that Kitten could still wander the Sanctuary with ease. Giving it ten more seconds--just to be sort of sure--he sat back up. "On second thought," he said, "I'm guessing the Boss Man wouldn't really mind if I took you to see him. Umm..." His mind scrambled to pick a place that wasn't the Labs. Hunter would not appreciate him bringing the red mutant to the Labs; of that he was sure. "The Black Talon! I think that's what it's called... Umm, I think I know the way there, too. Maybe."
"If you don't want him to be your boss any more, I can make that happen."
Calley looked at the big red mutant. It was a look that said maybe, just maybe, he wasn't as stupid as he acted. "Let's just go, okay?" The sooner they got this over with, the sooner he'd learn what his punishment was. The sooner he learned what his punishment was... the sooner he could stop feeling a little like he was going to throw up.
Okay, maybe a lot like he was going to throw up. But at least he wasn't going to explode. Right? He followed Abyss out of the room.
“You ok?" Abyss exclaimed as he fumbled to catch the squeaky toy, he bent down and retrieved the toy. as Calley laid there in what looked like shock. Was he dead? Hunter was going to pay! then the young mutant stood up after a moment of Abyss staring at the still breathing youth.
Abyss walked over to one of seven Red and Black Ducati Superbike 1098S's Calley wouldn't know that what he was about to ride was the god of street bikes, but he would just let him appreciate the ride for what it was, pure adrenaline. He went over to a wall of Helmets and picked one for himself, black and red of course and a bright lime green one for Calley. Abyss then went to a console on the wall, he took a USB drive and plugged it into a port on the console, he then typed in the black talon, only one entry came up that was in new york city, he took the information to the USB from there to his motorcycles GPS and the he had directions just under his speedometer. He handed Calley the bright green helmet and walked over to a locker. He put on a Kevlar vest and then replaced his button up and his tie and his coat. He then put on his helmet. " If you need to tell me anything while we are on it just tap me or head but me, or just get my attention. you'll want the visor down."

Calley
The lime green helmet made Calley happy. Unfortunately, being happy made Calley nervous, given the present situation. And being nervous brought on thoughts of Hunter and collars and what-if-Abyss-wasn't-as-nice-as-he-seemed and--
But it was a lime green helmet. He put it on, with a childishly pleased grin at the big red guy. A grin that quickly faded, as he started feeling sick again.
Calley wasn't bipolar. He just didn't know whether he was going to be alive, say, two hours from now. No meant no. But yes meant pain. And Calley wasn't sure which was going to be worse, honestly, but he knew he didn't have much say in the matter. And honestly, that did not make him feel better about it.
He watched Abyss put on that Kevlar vest, and thought simply, Now Hunter knows, too. He had little doubt that the man would be waiting for them at the Black Talon. He climbed up on the bike behind Abyss, and immediately tapped his shoulder. "Just so you know, the Scary Boss Man--" he didn't think twice about adding in the 'Scary' to the Boss Man's nickname, now that he was pretty much screwed no matter what he did. And he liked the monkey tail; the world needed monkey tails, and he wasn't really sure what the Scary Boss Man was going to do with Abyss. Abyss was the only one who'd pieced everything together, after all. Technically... there was still a very efficient way of keeping that information private. So he said: "--he's really strong. And fast, but not as fast as Kaz. And he's a good swordsman. He doesn't hesitate when he attacks, either--he just sorta moves, and you find out about it when your brain catches up. But he's pretty reasonable when it serves him. You should try not to die." He flicked his visor down. "And I still think Syn is Dad. So that makes Hunter Mom."
There was only so much pain he could take before he died. And he was pretty sure he'd already guaranteed himself that much the second Abyss accused him of being a spy. Which, really, was unfair--it was Kitra and Hunter's stupid dead employee (rest in peace) that had blown his cover. But yeah. He didn't think it was possible for him to get in more trouble. So... he didn't particularly regret those words, no. Go Abyss. He'd be rooting for the guy, probably from whatever corner he was huddling in.
Abyss nodded to the information, perhaps he was a maniac to think he could walk into a lions den and go straiten out the king of a pride, He didn't necessarily know what he wanted from him, possibly just a reaction. Something that freed Calley from the dangerous position he was in., He didn't particularly want to throw Calley under the bus, but he wanted to clear the air, he didn't like dealing with people not knowing if they were keeping tabs on him. He wanted to find this business agreement to be satisfying, not one where he had to watch his back among friends. the more nervous that Calley became the more he seemed to be angry at hunter. Abyss's tail looped around Calley acting as a snug fitting safety belt, He tended to be a little crazy on this bike and he didn't want to loose Calley. He shook, his head, he wasn't one to plan things, Just roll with the punches. time for any consideration could be made alter, he gave a bit of thought too Calley, He wondered for a moment if He could take Hunter and then grinned to himself.Abyss was always a bit full of himself after all.
Abyss tapped the button on the bike that opened the garage, he then looked once more at the GPS, he had a general Idea of the area it was in, he wouldn't need directions again until they were close. "Hold on tight, Cal." And with out a second thought they flew from the garage onto the street and made way through traffic with absolutely no regard for the law or what other traffic was doing. At some points he was on the sidewalks briefly others he was in the opposing lanes, But any thought of NYC traffic being slow, Had not been applied to Abyss and his Ducati. It was anything a crazy driving scene in a movie had wanted to be and more. He was exhilarated and his adrenaline was flowing with that of the dangers of driving so recklessly. After multiple turns and straightaways he came to a point where he was getting close, This was the first light he had stopped at and he glanced down at the GPS, He looked down and made the following left and then parked his back in front of a building that was designated as the Black talon. He glanced back to see that Calley was indeed there.
