Evelyn still dresses well, but in a normal, cute, child style.

Character
Personality: Evelyn is sweet, but she is often misunderstood. Her powers make it so she comes off as a know it all, and judgmental, so she tends to keep to herself and shyly keeps her distance from others. Her knowledge of human behavior and social tendencies makes it so she has trouble seeing the world as ‘good’ or ‘evil’. Everything has hundreds of shades of grey, so she comes across as very neutral in situations most people take distinct opinions on.
Because people so often misunderstand her, Evelyn has a slightly darker side that can show itself. She isn’t afraid to mow people down with psychoanalysis, whether she is correct or not, and plays mind games when it interests her. Although she can understand very complex things like behavior patterns, she often misses social graces like asking how someone is feeling, or letting people talk for themselves. She doesn’t like to waste time, and this may make her seem rude and distant.
Evelyn is also a little bit spoiled, and even though she’s on her own, she still gets plenty of money thanks to her parents, that bought her shares in several very well off companies. While she works and tries to own her own wages, the job is more to help her feel better about herself than to try and be independent. Secretly, she likes having the financial stability and accepts that her parents money is their way of showing love.
Since deaging, Evelyn seems to act more spoiled, and even more outspoken. She has little to no filter, and is a little bratty.
Hobbies/ Interests: Evelyn loves to read, people watch, and learn. The world is a book she is constantly turning pages in: watching stories play out, seeing interactions between individuals, and trying to find her place amongst them. She always tries to drink up more knowledge, learning new languages or other social patterns she is unfamiliar with. Her memory retention allows her to store vast amounts of information, so libraries always are on the top of her favorite haunts. She is gifted at playing the piccolo, but hasn't played it in awhile.
Evelyn also spend a lot of time at museums, and art is one of her passions. She can paint fairly well, but she keeps most of her art to herself. Because she is so aware of things in everyday life, her paintings are thought out down to the last brush stroke, and are filled with tiny little details.
Job or part time job and description: Evelyn works at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. They keep her on hand for her ability to answer customer’s questions, but she doesn’t interact much with the public because she isn’t great at customer service. Mostly, she helps set up exhibits, and her keen eye for details makes her an asset when making things historically accurate. Most of her coworkers are a little put off by her at first, but she keeps to herself so they don’t mind her much in the end. No job anymore. She's little!
Fears/ phobias/ concerns:Evelyn is terrified of being a mutant, and ever since she was little, she was told her powers are a ‘bad thing’. They are her secret dark side she keeps hidden, but they are a voice that plays in her head constantly and she can’t escape it. She always worries one day someone will try to use her for her abilities, and keeps a distance from others to be on the safe side. She also worries being a mutant will create a target on her parents, and tries to distance herself so they aren’t at risk. The larger mutant tensions get, the more afraid she grows for them.
Evelyn also has a phobia of knives. When she was younger her mother sliced her hand open rather badly on one, and ever since them, she avoids them at all costs. Her kitchen doesn’t have anything sharper than a butter knife, and although she loves eating steaks and other fine foods, she always has the chef slice them before hand. Some people find the paranoia silly, but like much about her, it is something you get used to.
Special talents: Evelyn has a very high IQ and reading level, and very good vision; better than 20/20. She also has a natural ear for music, and a pleasant singing voice. Evelyn has a very artistic personality which sometimes conflicts with the very logical nature of her powers.
Morality
Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Evelyn is firmly neutral. She doesn’t like seeing people suffer, but she doesn’t like taking sides. Because of her powers, she can see the good and bad in everyone, and everything seems like shades of grey. Whether it is a dangerous criminal or a child, she knows no one is perfect, and no one is completely evil. While she likes some things more than others, she has a way of being a bit too understanding.
Mutations
Mutation description: EchoesEvelyn has a hyper awareness to the world around her that borders on a functioning psychosis. Like people who are masters of behavior analysis or crime scene investigators, she picks up on minute details that give her a startling intimacy with situations and people. She calls these details the ‘echoes’ people put off, and her mind almost ‘feels’ them around her. This hyper awareness is not exact: each step involves deductive reasoning in which she draws likely conclusions about people based on observable characteristics.
For example:
[begin analysis]She can observe the fact you wear shined up shoes and pressed pants, but still have a scarf around your neck that is rather worn and beaten. Because the scarf doesn’t match with the rest of your attire, it could have some form of sentimental value to you. By observing fact it’s made of alpaca yarn, is hand stitched and has perfectly straight even stitches suggest it was made by someone with steady hands, taking away the idea it was an older relative. The colors match the rest of the outfit, which either shows you have a deep connection with the object and try to match it, or the person who made it knew you well enough to know what colors you liked to wear. She would then note the stains in some areas of the scarf, fairly aged, and it is a bit too short, so it was probably given to you at a young age, and you kept it around. This suggests you lost the person who gave it to you, most likely your mother, and you have never quite recovered from the loss. [end analysis]
Strengths:Evelyn’s hyper awareness helps her quickly solve problems and assess situations. By judging people’s behavior, actions, and possessions, she can pick out friend, foe, and liars. It is hard to hide things from her, because she has a keen eye and thinks very quickly.
Evelyn processes information at a much faster speed than the average human. Within a few seconds, she can work her way through a complicated analysis and arrive at a conclusion, piecing together thinks like a puzzle. Through time and practice, she has also learned to hone in on certain echoes, and work through the distracting buzz in her head.
Weaknesses and Limitations:AttentionEvelyn’s perception can be very distracting, and creates a lot of distrust for the people around her. She doesn’t function well socially, tends to keep to herself, and her deductions are based on assumptions much of the time, so they are not always accurate. Sometimes, she would rather analyze a person than get to know them.
Evelyn can see ‘echoes’ much like people can hear sounds, and she has to use discretion to pick out which ones to focus on. If she can see it, she can see the echoes, but she had to ‘notice’ them to have them stick. For instance, if she were walking down the streets of New York, her mind would be overwhelmed by the small details ‘sticking’ to everything. Buildings would be calling out
damage on lower stories, graffiti, faded from weather and attempts at scrubbing, but little attempt at repair done recently. Possibly law enforcement became disinterested in it., people would give her snippets of information
body language suggests dislikes people, and traffic would be giving her further information. She can only focus on one or two strings of thought at a time, and everything else has a mental ‘hum’. Her powers are connected strongest to her sight, so when she closes her eyes, she can shut out some of the information. Her brain would then try build conclusions about things based on her other senses, but it would be less effective.
The more Evelyn focuses and uses her powers, the more trouble she has engaging in things like battle or conversation. While she can fight fairly well relying on muscle memory, she still get slowed down when trying to analyze a battle, process new information.
Background InformationEvelyn won’t know anything she hasn’t read or researched before. While she has a massive amount of knowledge, some obscure facts won’t register for her. For instance, someone may be from Australia, and she may know some of the cultural background of the country, but she’s not going to start spewing the rules of Netball because she never learned about it. Evelyn constantly tried to expand her database of knowledge for this reason, and reads books on nearly every topic. While her brain may process information quickly, she still reads at a fairly average rate.
Mutation description: PlaybacksEvelyn can relive her memories, down to minute details. She calls these her ‘playbacks’. If she meditates or sleeps, she can virtually relive events as if they just happened. Unlike most people, who gradually loose information over time, she can trace back events from the time her mutation arrived when she was 13. This gives her an uncanny ability to identify people and where she’s seen them before; like keeping a memory notebook in her mind. Her ‘playbacks’ tend to revolve around events either spoken of recently, things she hears around her triggering a memory (someone talking about something she remembers) or fall back to a traumatic experience.
StrengthsThe ability to relive memories allows her to virtually ‘retrace’ her steps. She can remember who was at a crime scene, who was in a store on a particular day, or if she’s seen someone before. If she’s met you in the last year, she will most likely remember when, where, and what you were wearing. Her memories also have helped her in combat situations. She learns quickly, remembering lessons vividly, and muscle memory helps repeat actions like hitting a target or throwing things giving her better accuracy.
WeaknessesEvelyn lacks a level of control over this ability. When she sleeps, she cannot control the memories she relives, and they often take over her dreams and give her fitful nightmares. Most of her memories are only accessible through meditation or sleep, because constant access would overwhelm her mind. Too much information processing through her head starts ‘distracting’ her body from other functions, like speaking or movement. If she tried to bring up her memories forcefully, or meditated too long on a memory, she would becoming physically ill and possibly go into shock.
Evelyn can only trace memories back as far as when she was 13, and when she is awake, she doesn’t have full awareness of these memories. They flicker through her subconscious mind, so she could tell you what color you were wearing 2 years ago, but may not remember how she knows that. Memories ‘refresh’ as she relives them, and if she has recently retraced a memory, she will have greater awareness of the details. She cannot recall full events unless she has had a dream about them within the past week; she can small remember details like faces and names without needing to dream about them, however. Some memories refresh when she's awake, especially in heated conversation when she 'searches' for them. The consequences are these memories can refresh forcefully, and she relives things like pain with the same intensity she first encountered them.
Evelyn's playbacks activate when she falls asleep, but they have also been known to start anytime her brain is 'rebooted'. Getting hit in the head or shocked with electricity works like unplugging a computer would, and temporarily tricks her brain into starting the playback process.
Growth description:Share the Feed Evelyn has the ability to share her echoes and playbacks with up to two other people. This 'feed' of information only occurs when direct skin to skin contact is made. Mental information travels through the conduit, and they hear exactly what she hears. If she is sleeping, or if she gets playbacks while contact is made, they can see the flashes of memories exactly as she does. Evelyn is the only one who can direct or control the information, individuals sharing information with her are pretty much just piggybacking on the images and information like a passive bystander.
File Away for Later Evelyn has developed the ability to create file folders in her brain. This will help her sort and access memories and information quicker, and create less chaos in her head. Like a computer, she can push all of the information on a subject she wants together, and the echoes can help her retrieve it when needed. For instance, all of the information on electricity could be clumped into one folder, where she can access and dig for memories as wanted. When training for a mission, she can collect what she wants in one place, and be able to recall it in the moment with less strain on her powers.
Evelyn can also remove memories using this same new ability. After gathering information she no longer wants, she can dump the folder and free up more space in her mind. All of those endless memories of walking up stairs with no purpose can be cleared to leave the important things.
Physical Abilities
General Physical Capabilities: Evelyn is not very strong physically, and focuses more on her mental state of mind. She is fairly flexible, but other than that, she would probably flunk gym class.
Fighting Style: Evelyn fights on a psychological level. She will try to turn the table on you and make you second guess attacking her. If that doesn’t work, running or screaming always seems like a good option.
Fighting Style Pros/Cons: Pros of her fighting style are she often can talk herself out of a fight, and avoid the confrontation all together. Cons are if things get bad, she’s probably going to end up getting the snot kicked out of her. This is partially why she spends most her time with her handler, who functions much like a body guard.
History of Your Character
Evelyn was born in the busting center of New York, and it has always been her home. Her parents were very well-to-do and wealthy, and she always had the newest and nicest belongings. But she was distant with the adults in her life, and grew up with her nose in books and wandering around on educational field trips they put together. Her powers developed passively over the course of time, and her hyper-awareness was only really taken into account when she was six and starting to pick apart people’s behavior patterns. Rather than just being seen as abnormally perceptive, she was thought to be a know it all, and many of her friends as school kept her at a distance.
At first, people thought she was just extremely intelligent, or perhaps had some form of mental disorder. But as time passed, they realized her abilities were surpassing the type of psychosis common in human genetics. Her parents tried sending her to counselors and getting second opinions from doctors, but Evelyn was resistant to the treatment and naïve to the social damage her behavior created. Over a course of time, she withdrew into herself, and didn’t share her observations unless she did so to attack or push someone away. She had few friends, and mostly spent her time with her handler, Jensen. The middle aged man was always around to keep an eye on her, and prevent others from learning of her mutation.
When Evelyn turned 15, her secondary mutation developed in her sleep. She dreamt she was back in school, and every memory and detail was exactly as it had been the day she experienced it. Waking up, she considered it a coincidence, but the next night she relived another memory, of a fight her parents had when they realized she was a mutant. Frightened by her abilities, Evelyn developed insomnia, and would only sleep when she was too exhausted to dream. She occupied her spare time learning, playing musical instruments, and taking private lessons from whatever professors her parents could convince to come talk to her.
By the time she was 20, people had taken notice of her abilities, and for a short while, she was actively being pursued for her mental retention by organizations that treated her like a possible crime solver, or spy. Nick-naming her Holmes, after the beloved detective in literature and film, she became a target for individuals that did not have her best interest in mind, and on one stormy night, a failed kidnapping attempt left her body guard and her only friend Jensen badly beaten. Frightened for the people around her, she left home, and insisted that her parents let her get her own place so nothing would happen to them if anti-mutant hostilities kept rising. Reluctantly, they agreed, but only after installing state of the art security measures.
Now 24, Evelyn has gathered a limited understanding of her powers. She can actively relive memories through meditation, although her dreams are still filled with involuntary ‘playback’, as she calls it. When she is around people, she is often distracted by the ‘echoes’ they put off, and she can come across as airy, and distracted. She has a small flat to herself, although Jensen still plays chaperon to her, at her parents’ wishes. She has been on a few dates over the course of time, but they usually ended prematurely when she says something that inevitably insults the man. Now, she keeps her distance, and expects others to do the same.
[De-aged update] Evelyn is now 7. After de-aging, she is revisiting childhood adventures.

Sample RP: The door shut behind the older woman, and the blueish-eyed girl stared up at her expectantly. From across the room, the girl carefully noted the worn pencil skirt—a pressed blue material with plaid stripes that seemed slightly gray in color—and the matching cardigan that was a bit too short and kept showing tiny slivers of her midriff. In a clear sweep of her eyes, she watched the way the figure walked: a slow step that shifted from side to side, slightly unsteady in the heels she wore, and took in the way her tightly arranged hair had started to come loose, but the woman did not correct it. Each little detail registered through her mind in quick succession, and she frowned slightly, trying to decide what it all meant. The woman’s nails were clipped short, but had no polish, and her makeup had started to fade but she hadn’t touched it up. From under the faded mascara brown eyes stared back at her. Evelyn blinked her own buttermilk blues in return.
”Evelyn, you need to stop doing this. Your behavior is unsettling the other children, and quite frankly, your teachers don’t know what to do with you. I hardly know what to do with you.” The woman stared at the 7 year old girl, who simply blinked meekly back.
”What am I doing, Mrs. Zeenders?” She said quietly. The woman bit the side of her lip and rang her hands together. [
I upset her. Her lack of poise is caused by a state of distress.] She noted. The woman sighed, and sank in the chair across from the girl.
”Today you told one of the other students that he blamed himself for his parent’s dysfunctional relationship, and compensated by trying to be overly helpful in the classroom. You called him a praise glutton.” The woman sighed with exasperation.
Evelyn blinked, and tilted her head to the side.
”But that’s what I saw. When he helps out in the class room, his body language suggests he is nervous until someone gives him praise, and then he is elated. His lack of confidence and need for positive reinforcement shows he doesn’t get that elsewhere, and he tries to get more attention from adults than--” ”Evelyn.” ”Children because it is the adults in his life that he disappoints. If he-” ”Evelyn STOP!” The woman smacked her hand against the chair, her unmanicured nails clenching the wood. The young girl blinked at her in shock, visibly shaken.
"But, Mrs. Zeenders, I just—" "Evelyn, you must stop this behavior at once. No one wants you to try to profile them like this. You’re seven years old, and you need to just let people be themselves without trying to micro analyze everything!” The woman’s voice rose, and the younger girl hunkered down in the chair, trying to escape her words. [
Elevated voice and slight crack in her words, gripping the chair to try to control temper; yet stress from home situation, which already leaked into her appearance and leaves her disheveled, affects her ability to deal with stressful situations…] The thoughts whirled past her mind, and she felt tears prickle her eyes. She fiddled with the edge of her skirt, and nodded her head, tightly pursing her mouth into a line and avoiding eye contact. The older woman slowly exhaled, and sank back into her chair.
”You’re a sweet girl Evelyn; you just need to try letting people talk to you instead of pretending to already know everything about them. Now get back to class.” With tears trickling down her face, the young girl raced out of the room, and made a beeline for the bathroom. It was empty, with all the other children in the classroom doing their mid-morning math tests, and so she sank to her knees in front of the big mirror, and let herself cry. The reflection stared back at her, blue eyes almost a grey color, and hair so blond it was almost white. In her head, the thoughts continued to rattle on, and she just fell into the hum of their chorus. [
