The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Kaz and Jazz made it to the labs in record time. Mostly because Kaz was driving like a mad man possessed, and partially due to the lack of traffic. Pressing the button on his watch, though he was sure Hunter already knew, "We're here." Slowing down he drove slowly up the driveway, stopping in front of the entrance. Kaz tossed the keys to one of the men standing there, "Don't you dare scratch it." The man nodded, "Sir." Kaz moved to the passenger door and opened it for Jazz. He waited for her to get out. "Mondragon Labs. He should be waiting for us inside." With that Kaz headed toward the building.
Jazz rose from the car seat. Any kind of alcohol stupor she might have been in was completely gone since Kaz drove as fast as he did: nothing was as sobering as going as fast as they had been. Jazz followed Kaz as they started towards the building.
"So um, anything I should know about my new boss before I meet him?" she asked as she walked with Kaz.
Hunter saw the car pull up and moved to greet the Kaz and the new recruit. He had washed all of Calley’s blood off his hands, changed his trousers for a pair without a hole in them and his tiny bite wound had healed.
Straightening his tie he stepped out the door and smiled pleasantly at the pair of them. “Welcome, Mr Corydon, Miss Miller, welcome to Mondragon labs. I am Hunter Antonescu, your new employer.” The last part was directed at Jazz.
“Would you care for a tour?” he asked, gesturing through the open doorway which was flanked by armed guards.

Kaz was surprised when Jazz asked him for advice. Stopping, one leg higher than the other in mid step, Kaz looked back at her. His mouth opened as if to say something, but shut it when Hunter appeared at the door. Kaz shrugged at her then kept walking. His tone friendly and respectful, "Kaz. Just call me Kaz. That 'Mr.' stuff sounds weird to me." He let out a little chuckle. "Though I tour would be great."
Jazz was very rarely intimidated by members of the opposite sex, but Hunter was something completely different. She could tel after a mere moment of this company that he was what some would call "a force to be reckoned with". The fact that he seemed to have slughtly control over Kaz (however slight) showed Jazz that there was something strong about this man that his beautifully tailored suit might be hiding.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Mr. Antonescu," Jazz stepped closer to her new boss, shaking the man's hand. "And yes, a tour sounds divine" she smiled brightly.
“In that case please follow me,” he said with a charming smile, before turning and plunging back into the labyrinth of Mondragon labs. He lead them past various innocuous experiments before arriving at the guard barracks.
When he stepped into the barracks all the soldiers present sprung up and stood at attention at the end of their bunks. Hunter motioned for them all to stand at ease. “This is my security force,” he said with a wry smile.
“Although they are capable of much more than just security. There may be some missions where I send a team of them along with you to act as a distraction or fire support. They are all highly trained and will not let you down.” Because they know what will happen if they do, he added silently.

The place was large, as expected from a laboratory building. Kaz was curious about some of the experiments they passed but didn't ask any questions, just noted them for future reference. Kaz was surprised when a multitude of 'soldiers' stood at attention in perfect unison. "A large 'security' force." Kaz said with a small chuckle as he began to move forward. Walking straight in front of Hunter down the line of men and bunks, Kaz would stop every so often, as if inspecting the men. His gaze was one of judgment, as if he was judging if they were a good enough product to purchase.
He was nearly halfway down the long barracks when he turned around, giving a Hunter a questioning look, 'Mutant or human?'. Kaz didn't look at the men that stood on either side of him, but he did notice where their guns were strapped. "What would you do if I put a gun to your heads?" Before he finished his sentence his hands were already moving, grabbing the visible gun from both men holding it up to their heads. Kaz smirked when he saw that both men had a second gun trained on him as well as four others. He gave Hunter an approving look. Though he gave the men a light bit of warning before he moved he didn't think much of it seeing as on a mission they'd already be on guard, so to Kaz, it was essentially the same.
Flipping the guns around he handed them to the men. "Not bad." He noticed the other four replaced their firearms as Kaz handed his back and started walking away. Stepping past Hunter, an almost bored tone in his voice, "Next?"
Jazz stayed quiet, mostly taking things in. She was itnerested to know what required such security, just as she was interested to know what she would exactly be doing here. But those questions could come later; for now she just watched.
Her eyes went wide slightly as she watched Kaz interact with the guards. She wasn't a fan of guns and didn't typivcally use them (nor need them) but the guards' utter capability with them were impressive. She continued behind the men.
Hunter gave a small smile at Kaz’s little display. Even with his abilities eh would have been hard pressed to kill that guard and get away. His men were trained to near perfection.
Rather than comment Hunter lead them on towards a training area. The room was large and empty wit bare white walls. “This is one of our training areas. The environment can be set to a variety of things, or become adaptive.”
He turned to a wall and tapped it. A console flipped out and he began to activate a program. “I have a little challenge for the pair of you. A race of sorts. Around the room five different lights will activate one at a time. First person to touch the light gets a point, most points at the end wins.”
He had set it so the room would adapt at great speed, throwing up obstacles before they had even set off towards one of the lights and trying to make the course as difficult as possible.
“If you are ready then both say so,” he instructed “After you have both confirmed you’re ready the race will start five seconds later,” Although the moment they both said ready the room would begin to change throwing up walls and barriers to slow them down.

Following Hunter a bit they came to what looked like a training area. Looking around he saw where the lights were and listened to the man's game he had set up. Sighing slightly, Kaz shifted his weight back onto one leg and rubbed the back of his neck. "If this is just to see who's faster, I decline." He waited a moment before finishing his thoughts. "I'm not so prideful I can't say who's faster. She is, hands down. I can barely perceive her movements on an instinctual level and I don't come close to seeing her move physically." Shrugging, "Sorry if I ruined your fun." His last words were not said sincerely or sarcastically, but in an indifferent bored way.
Jazz allowed her self a small, smug smile as Kaz quit the race before they began. Part of Jazz was relieved: there was no doubt that she was much faster than Kaz but he had other abilities that she didn't. He could sense her instictually, which meant he might be better equipped for a foot-off in a place neither of them were familar with.
"Well, admittedly, he's right. I am faster." Jazz commented, not smugly, just matter-of-factly. "However I'm sure that Kaz had plenty of aces up his sleeve to have made the race a difficult one" Jazz smiled lightly. She wasn't used to being overly sweet and in all honesty, it left an unpleasant taste in her mouth. But she wanted to show that she could play well with others and she wanted to show her appreciation to Kaz, in case he changed his mind.
Hunter merely shrugged and deactivated the course. “Your declining of the challenge has revealed more than the challenge itself would have. Now I not only know that Jazz possesses exceptional speed, but that you Kaz know when you’re outclassed and will admit so freely.”
“That is a rare quality in mutants, and something which I value. Now, you have seen all points of interest save the cafeteria, so unless you are hungry I’ll show you to the vehicle bay where you may collect your car Kaz and Jazz you may either ride with him or choose a vehicle of your own.”
Jazz looked around the room once more. She nodded and smiled to Hunter as he commented about her speed, but for the most part she was looking around trying to take everything in.
Jazz smiled as Hunter mentioned her own vehicle. "Actually, the second option sounds like the better one" she smirked, knowing that there were going to be some choice transportation in the garage.

Kaz was indifferent to Hunter's words. The man was good at flattering and complimenting. When he mentioned food, Kaz had no attraction to it. "I say we just head to the garage. Unless there's something you need from me."
