The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Five minutes before noon, a red and black Audi R8 stopped in front of Spiritual Balance. The petite figure of Alexandra Kettler stepped out of it, clad in a black business suit with a plain white shirt visible underneath the jacket. A pair of black high heeled court shoes completed the look.
Perfectly colored sky blue eyes wandered toward the building, a shadow of disbelief lingering in them for a few moments. Alexandra let her shoulders relax and shifted her eyes to the door before starting to walk toward it. Ellie looked up as soon as the door opened, sporting the look of someone who’d seen many people in the past few days. Alexandra didn’t doubt that there were many who wanted to see Hunter and he had turned his come back into some sort of public event.
“Good afternoon. How may I help you?” Alexandra eyed the receptionist for a moment before answering. “Alexandra Leigh. I have an appointment with Hunter.” Ellie nodded slightly before proceeding to explain where Hunter would be found. It was Alexandra’s turn to nod a thank you for the directions before spinning on her heels and follow them.
[OOC: Feel free to have her enter the room Hunter is in. I wasn’t sure where exactly she’d find you so I’m leaving it up to you.]
Hunter was waiting in the training room as he was doing tai chi when Alexandra arrived. He finished up the movement he was doing as she walked in and turned to face her. “Alexandra my dear,” he said with a smile, “How good to see you again.”
He was unsure as to how she would react to seeing her old boss again. She looked very smart in the suit. He didn’t know if she was still working for the Kabal but whatever she was doing she looked to be doing well for herself.
It wasn’t just the kind words that greeted her that surprised Alexandra. It was everything. From the short hair to the white robes and the warm expression, everything was different from the Hunter she’d known. Alexandra stopped a few feet away, letting her eyes scan the man once more before stopping on his strikingly silver eyes. A smile appeared on her lips as well – one that was far from being as warm as Hunter’s. She nodded her head in greeting. “Hunter.”
He said ‘how good to see her again’. Alexandra didn’t reply. She didn’t feel anything. Good, bad, whatever. She’d come to see him because she was curious. And that lead to her following question. “What sort of games are you playing, Hunter?” Her hands moved, drawing ample arcs into the air to include everything. Hunter, the new person, Spiritual Balance, everything. Alexandra was curious. Really, was he giving up everything to help people? Mentally, Alexandra shook her head. In her book, that kind of change didn’t exist.
“No games,” he said truthfully, “Not that you have any reason to believe me. But for whatever my word is worth there are no games. I’ve changed, and more than just my look. I opened this place to help people and that is what I intend to do.”
“You are welcome to visit whenever you like to see that is what I am doing. In fact you’re welcome to attend any of the open sessions.” Somehow he didn’t think she’d take his word at face value. Few people had any reason to. He suspicion was clear to see and rightfully there. There was a time when he always had an ulterior motive. But those days were behind him now. He just had to convince everyone else of that.
Alexandra shrugged. Whether Hunter changed or not was to be proved later. Blindly trust people wasn’t one of her traits. “Actually, Hunter, the reason I’m here is to ask for private sessions.” Or at least one of the reasons. Anyway. “I need to resume my martial arts training.” A slight smile appeared on her lips.
Alexandra wondered how Luke was doing. X-Man or not, she missed her sensei. Sigh. But now it was time to move on with her training and Hunter and Spiritual Balance sounded good. “Of course, the price is not a problem.” Her head tilted to the side, once again, glancing curiously at Hunter.
Hunter smiled as Alexandra asked for private martial arts lessons. “But of course,” he replied, “I have actually improved my skills since we last met. Speaking to me back then you wouldn’t believe that possible but I’ve since had my eyes opened.” In more ways than one. “Any particular style that you want to work with or just general mixed martial arts?”
“No charge,” he said, waving off her offer or price, “This place is here to help anyone who wants help, not just those who can afford it.” The various hidden offshore accounts that had been just gathering interest over the years meant that he was unlikely to need to have any sort of revenue for quite some time.
“Your wish, Hunter.” Alexandra smiled as well for a moment, in response to Hunter’s dismiss of her money offer. Then, her business face softly replaced the slightly amused one. “General mixed martial arts is what I’m looking for.” She replied. “Unless you consider something else would fit me better.”
Mixed martial arts was often the skill set someone looking to make practical use of their skills went for. It came as little surprise to Hunter that Alexandra wanted to keep honing her skills. While he didn’t know if she was still a member of the Kabal her attire suggested that she was. While an impressive look it was also inappropriate for thraining in.
“I’d say we could start right now,” he said with a smile, “But you’re not exactly dressed for it. Other than now I’m not free until next week. You can make an appointment with Ellie and we’ll arrange a session.”
(OOC: Hunter will be cancelling all next week’s sessions due to Calley murdering Ellie, so if you want to practise soon it’ll have to be now)
Alexandra smiled too, looking down at her outfit. “Well, I didn’t know that we could start today.” She explained, shifting her eyes back to Hunter. “So we are going to leave it for next week. I’ll discuss the details with Ellie.”
“Farewell, Hunter.” After nodding her head at the man, she spun on her heels and left the room. She couldn’t say that she wasn’t curious anymore about the radical change that her former boss had gone through.
[OOC: I’ll start a new thread for the training soon. I’ll PM you the link when it will be up.]
Hunter smiled and returned Alexandra’s nod. “Until next week,” he said with a smile. It had been good to see an old face again. While it was quite clear that she was very curious about his changed attitude towards life and if it was genuine it was still nice to see her.
Ellie will have logged away the details for a session early next week. Unfortunately events were already in motion to see that Alexandra’s session would have to wait. All the session would have to wait. Soon there would be much more for Hunter to worry about than simply helping those who came and asked for it. Was he ready for this?
