The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Chris stood there, taking it all in. Something had led him here and he was surely going to find it. Having never bee to New York of course he was taking in the sights. Rockefeller Center, Madison Square Gardens, and now the Empire State Building. He was looking thru the lenses of the little telescope thingees someone had left running when they left the roof. It was amazing how little all the people looked, even thru these magnifying glasses tied to pocket change, Flynn thought to himself. Then his head got slammed into the object of his reflection.
"Ow! What was that?" He heard a voice say behind his aching head. It was taking all of his concentration to stay invisible with his eye sockets screaming in agony. The child had come right up behind him during his musings and tried to look thru the glasses, headbutting Chris from behind and right into the glasses. He moved off to the side so as not to get smacked again.
This was just one of the problems he had with moving around invisible. He had to always be aware of his surroundings, else someone might walk into him. He was getting tired anyways so Chris moved back to the stairs. He didn't want to be seen by the cameras on the rooftop when he reappeared. Odds are he' be taken for some sort of Mutie Terrorist and the he'd be on the run again. and without finding the reason he came here in the first place.
Making sure there was no one around, he quickly squeezed in the lest amount of open door he could. Hopefully any tech would think someone had opened the door from the inside quickly and decided to just go back down, as unlikely as it sounded. a few seconds later, Chris Flynn was fully visible as he walked down the stairs, rubbing his eyes and the back of his head. 1800 steps later he caused his body to fade from view once more. his tanned skin, his red t-shirt, Ray Ban shades and ragged Levi's. Even the San Francisco baseball cap over his black hair vanished in a scant few seconds. The other 60 steps were taken soundlessly and he went thru the revolving door as someone else came in from the other side. His military training had helped him anticipate cameras and hot spots. an alley away he reappeared and walked back out, melding into the crowd and making his way to a hot dog vendor at the corner, just like any New Yorker, to add a heaping helping of chili to some meat product and shove into his stomach.
Where would he go after lunch? Chris wasn't sure. His money was running low and he had no leads s to what had 'called' him here. He looked to the sky and whispered between bites, "I wish you'd give me a sign or something..."
Zahira blinked in shock, she was one of the bystanders that was heading toward who knows where. Zahira had seen someone walk out of the alleyway, which was rather odd to her. She hadn't even known she had stopped, until she was ran into from the back by someone. This caused Zahira to jump and tense up. She whipped her head around and glared at the male that had ran into her. "Watch it!" She snapped at him. The man glared at her. "Your the one who stopped girlie! Don't stop for stupid reasons..." The male sneered back. Zahira narrowed her eyes and muttered something under her breath in Japanese. This really didn't go over with the guy, as he shoved her small frame away, easily shoving the girl away, and nearly making her fall, if she hadn't caught herself. Zahira hissed in anger, as she quickly glared after the man and continued to walk.
Zahira had glanced up at the sky, before pulling up the hood of her hoodie. She had her body wrapped up in clothing. She was ignoring the strange and bewildered looks of the people around her. The female didn't know why, but she wanted to follow this male, who came out of the alleyway. She really didn't know why though? He interested her maybe? Maybe that could be it. Zahira kept her eyes at the male. She may not have been here very long, but she at least knew her way around this place. "Wounder where he's going..." She whispered to herself. "Who knows.... I say lets follow him." She whispered to herself. "Yeah lets." She agreed with herself. Yes the weird 17 year old was going to continue following this male. As its not like she had much else to do.
Zahira stuffed her gloved hands into her pockets of her jeans, and kept walking. She didn't even notice she had closed her eyes for a moment and she had ran into the same person she was following, but she didn't notice till it was too late. "Ooph..." She muttered. "Oh sorry!" She said quickly, realizing that she had just run into the back of this male she had been following out of pure utter boredom and interest.

Aris had been wandering around the city she had so recently come to call home, trying to her best not to attract too much attention. It was hard, sometimes, and she received more than one nasty look and name call as she meandered down the street, taking in the sights and sounds. She was determined that this would be a good day and she wasn't about to let some small minded humans get in the way of that. Vancouver was a big city, but nothing like New York. It was a little overwhelming, but also a fascinating experience. Unfortunately it seemed that no matter where she went in the world, certain things always seemed to stay the same. Like small minded human discrimination for one. Well, nothing good in life came without some sort of sacrifice and all things considered, modifiying herself had resulted in far more good than bad.
Aris was considering where to go next when, out of the corner of her eye, she noticed a man appear out of thin air. So it seemed she wasn't the only mutant in the area at the moment and as interesting as the city was turning out to be in all its glory, she was fairly certain that the man would be far more interesting. At least she wasn't likely to get looks of disgust and fear from a fellow mutant. She was getting more than a little tired of those. Didn't they realize that what they perceived as things that made her a freak, actually made her physically superior to any mere human? They should be admiring her flesh melds, not hating her because of them.
Turning in the man's direction, Aris decided that the direct approach would probably be the correct one. It didn't seem entierly practical to try to follow someone who could, apparently, turn invisible. Aris weaved her way in and out of the crowd, positioning herself within the man's field of vision just as she saw another woman bump into him.
Flynn scanned the area as he walked on eating his dog. He was always leery of getting caught. All of a sudden he noticed a woman moving toward him. Chris stopped abruptly trying to figure out what he should do. If he was made; this could be a diversion so soldiers might get into position. He was fairly confident that they didn't know of his abilities, so he wouldn't use them unless he had to. He tensed, looking up as he weighed his options. "Ooph..." Flynn heard as he was run into from behind. He spun around, sweeping his arm across and up to divert a weapon barrel but his arm touched nothing. He looked and saw a young female in a dark hood step back a step and realized that he had probably caused her to bump into him when he stopped suddenly."Oh sorry!" she said to him, barely registering in Chris' ears. He was more concerned with the other approaching female and moved himself around the girl while saying, "I am the one who is sorry, Apologies, but I just remembered somewhere I should be." He looked back over his shoulder and realized he wasn't going to be able to blend into the crowd before the other was up on him, so he stood fast and waited for her to get to him. He figured he might be safe for a small time since he hadn't seen any others moving into positions around him so what the heck...'quit being so paranoid,' he thought to himself. He looked again at the young woman that had bumped into him.."Did I hurt you dear? I can be clumsy sometimes."
Zahira's eyes darted around before finally landing on him after several moments of paranoia. "Don't worry 'bout it." She said calmly, her voice quick, due to the fact that she also rather paranoid... or maybe it was cause she feeling a bit too crowded or too brushed up against? Zahira let her eyes dart around the crowded place. "Damn I hate feeling people brush up against meh.... it's sufficating... to meh at least..." She thought as she didn't show it on her face. "I'm fine, didn't even feel anythin'" She said as shook her head and took out her gloved hands and pulled them up tighter around her fingers. She was trying to keep skin to skin contact a no show and a not gonna happen.
Zahira kept letting her eyes dart around like a swarm of bees. She didn't like being in a crowded place with so many bodies brushing up against her. This would normally be the time when she turns tail and runs away. But not today. And she didn't know why but she didn't want to run. These two mutants(Even though one had yet to appear) interested her greatly, and she wanted to know what their powers were, maybe their names, and then leave as quickly as she could.

It seemed to Aris like she might have accidentally startled the man she was approaching. That certainly hadn't been her intention. She had thought that, seeing as how he was a mutant himself (how else would he be able to appear out of thin air like that?) he would be able to look beyond her somewhat intimidating appearance and the fact that he apparently couldn't brought her opinion of him down a few notches. She was almost tempted to simply turn around and forget about him but, she had come this far and he had obviously all ready spotted her so she may as well continue what she started. Besides, it wasn't as if she had anything better to do at the moment and who knows, perhaps he might even surprise her in some manner.
She considered how to go about introducing herself. She wasn't sure, yet, if this other woman was a mutant or not and, given the predominance of humans, it was safe to bet that she probably wasn't. But if she had a problem, the woman could simply shove it. Aris was tired of bending to the whims and discrimination of humans. "I couldn't help but notice you seem to be a rather...unique...individual," she said to the male with what she hoped was a welcoming smile. For the time being she completely ignored the other woman. Until such at time as she proved herself to be a mutant, and she probably wasn't, she wasn't worth Aris's time.
I'm fine, didn't even feel anythin'" the girl said as she shook her head. This one was all covered up. Her eyes darted about like a frightened mouse. Could she be something more than a normal human? He had never encountered another of his kind. Either way he figured this girl looked like she needed a meal. His funds were low, but he was sure he could sport a few more dogs. "What's say we go to the park and have ourselves a hot dog and a soda. I'm new to this city and would like the company"
Meanwhile the other woman had gotten to him."I couldn't help but notice you seem to be a rather...unique...individual," she said to him with a smile. This disarmed him a bit. He wouldn't have expected a smile from a military operative. and something about her was a tad...off. Her movements almost seemed mechanical, like she was making her legs move but she could have been walking on glass barefoot and not known. Chris didn't know what to make of it and it intrigued him.
"I'm not sure what you mean by that miss... I am getting ready to take my friend here for a bite to eat in the park. come along if you'd like." He smiled back at her. Looking her over at this close range he noticed the piercings, definitely not something the military would allow. one of her eyes looked mechanical though. like some sort of techno gem that sparkled just under her hair. She looked about his age, maybe she had been in some sort of accident, that would explain the little things he had noticed. Well, he could always just turn invisible and run away from all of this if it didn't end well. Although it would be nice to find friends after such a long tie on the road, someone to trust.
Zahira blinked at the invitation. Was he serious? She didn't even know this guy and here he was offering her.... A complete stranger something to eat. Was he really stupid? Or maybe he was just being nice? She didn't fully get either of these two. She hissed quietly under her breath, as she let her eyes snap up to search the male's eyes and then snap over toward the female. The 17 year old took an almost frightened step back. The word friend was something she hadn't used or heard of in such a long time. Or maybe she had just been isolating herself since the accident and never knew how much she lacked or rather feared the word 'friend' since she accidentally killed two of her best and only friends, and that stupid jock, had she stopped trying to get friends. She figured it was safer if she just knew them like an acquaintance of hers. She shook her head. "I don't think that's nessecary... but I'll go... mayba..." She said uneasily.
Zahira blinked at the two, listening to them talk. All of a sudden something in her mind snapped to attention. "Yer both mutants?" She whispered quietly. "Like meh..." She added. She didn't know how, but she just taking a wild guess. If they weren't mutants she could always run away from them? Surely she could get away from a few humans if they were humans that is. But she was fairly sure they might be mutants.... I mean, her paranoia and her gut instincts are what saved her life, and even when she guessed she never second guessed her gut, since it was almost always right (Only a few times it had been wrong).

Aris was a little disappointed that the man hadn't admitted that he was a mutant, though she supposed it was probably natural. He was obviously fortunate enough that he could hide it and in many ways that would certainly make life easier. She considered being more direct but though better of it. If he was so determined to hide what he was then revealing it in front of strangers wouldn't exactly be the best way for Aris to get into his good books. When she was invited to join the two of them for a bite to eat Aris nodded. "I would love to." She took stalk of her finances and decided that she probably had enough left as long as they didn't go anywhere elaborate. Besides, she could always go acquire some more later.
"Yer both mutants?" "Like meh..." Aris was a little taken aback by that statement. It was certainly an unexpected discovery but quite welcome as well. This day was turning out to be very good and very interesting indeed. Aris burst out laughing. "You aren't very observant are you?" she said referring to the other woman. She gestured towards her metallic feet. "Since when do humans have titanium feet?" She struggled to real in her peals of laughter, hoping that the woman didn't take them too personally.
"Yer both mutants? Like meh..." one said. "You aren't very observant are you? Since when do humans have titanium feet?" replied the other with a laugh. Now wasn't this an interesting development.
What a relief this was. He hadn't been tagged by the military, he had been smelled out by a couple of girls, who were mutants like himself. Flynn breathed out a sigh which quickly turned into a smile, a wide toothed grin when he took off his glasses and looked the two ladies in the eyes. The orbs looked like cut Onyx; but as the women looked, small flashes like lightning race across them, up and down, back and forth, like a cat trying to catch it's tail.
"Why don't we talk about this in the park where I know this excellent little place to eat."He offered an arm to both of them and moved toward the north. There was easily nearly 30 blocks for them to traverse to get to that chili dog vendor in central park. Perhaps...wait a second, the mugger he knocked out the night before. Chris had grabbed some bills off of him. He shoved his hand into his back pocket and pulled out the crumpled bills. "And It looks like we can even get there in style." He held out his hand and hailed a cab. When one stopped he opened he door and allowed the ladies to get in, then hopped in the back and said to the driver. "Central Park please," and then to the women"Wait till you meet Frances. He makes the best chili dogs I've ever eaten. "
