The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The unfortunate thing about high schools is that rumors tend to spread and they do indeed spread fast. Before you know it the entire student body knows about who picked their nose in English class, which power couple broke up during Chemistry, etc., but in a mutant school…the rumors can spread even faster. Maybe that is because there are always mutants running around, some with abilities that allow them to pluck information out of the air, super overhear things, or spy people while invisible. It is just one of those things that being in a high school for mutants that one needs to watch out for.
Agnes Nicholas, the school’s resident bug harbinger, was now the victim of one of those incidents. As she sat in the middle of the common room, a thick book in her hands concerning General Science, she paid no attention to the passing students; that did not mean they were not paying attention to her.
Already twice today the runaway had gotten a passing snicker or grin from a couple of students, but she did not bother to chase them down and figure out why. She figured it was nothing more than maybe she was wearing her hair wrong that day, or maybe she her shirt was out of style. It really was not something that demanded her full attention because it really was not worth it. At least that was what she wanted it to be.
Instead the truth was much more irritating.
Agnes sighed as she glanced up and saw another pair of girls, this time they were simply grinning as they looked over at the runaway, giggling to themselves. Finally having enough of it, Agnes stood up, slammed her book down onto the couch and stormed towards them. Her arms crossed over her chest, she stared them down deftly.
“What? What is so damn funny?” she demanded.
One of the girls, the more social and apparent more stuck up, merely arched her brow and grinned. “Oh don’t act all innocent Bug Girl.”
“What did you call me?” Agnes growled as she stepped closer.
The move must have caught the other young woman off-guard because she backed up and bumped into the wall, successfully bumping into the mirror that hung there. Quickly she composed herself and cleared her throat.
“Uh…ahem. It’s all over the school. Everyone knows how you have the hots for that cutie Gawain.”
Agnes, eye-twitching, squeaked in shock at hearing this. How did this get out amongst the populace? That was told in private to the guidance counselor and she definitely did not seem like the type to say anything. If that were true though, then how the heck did the information get out to everyone else?
“W-Who? No…that’s not true!”
“Oh, it is,” the teenager grinned. “Victor Halimard found out. See, his mutation allows him to see actual words floating through the air and he says he saw the words, well, let’s just say, something about ‘Making Love’ to ‘Gawain’.” She and the rest of her cronies began to giggle incessantly.
The redness in Agnes cheeks burned so bright that it looked as if she had a furnace attached on either side of her mouth. She could not believe that that lie had made it out into the open like that! She was going to kill whoever this Victor was. She did not care if it got her kicked out, she was going to kill him!
“That’s not true! I said it as a lie!”
“Whatever,” the socialite mutant said with a chuckle. “You better hope it’s not because he is SO out of your league. You’re just gunna end up very, very, VERY disappointed.”
They then began to giggle more and walk off as Agnes, with clenched fists, stood there glaring around at everyone. Students were passing by, giggling and nudging each other as they looked at her and then quickly adverted their eyes. She could not believe this was happening! First that incident with Faye, then Gawain, and not this Victor?! She was ready to start giving everyone in the school black eyes!
Seeing another trio of students laughing at her expense, Agnes sniffled, clearly upset and turned to grab her book from the sofa. But as she turned, a little quicker than expected, she bumped into another student who was walking by, a familiar looking female, but one with a black eye. Too embarrassed to really notice why the girl was familiar, Agnes snapped and moved past her without taking a close look.:
“Hey! Watch where you’re going, okay?!” she shouted moved around her to get her book. There was not a hole big enough in the world that she wanted to crawl into.
Of course Maya knew about the rumors. Nobody bothered to tell her - some, because they did not actually know that she was Gawain, and others because they did not feel like it would be wise to do so. But the rumor were (quite literally) in the air, and maya couldn't help but overhear. Oh boy. She only caught the end of Agnes' heated conversation with the girls; she would tell the bug girl was embarrassed and angry. But why? Did she really have the hots for Gawain? Frankly, that would suck, as flattering as it was. Poor Agnes. Maya could never udnerstand women. Then, as she walked in to talk (or maybe, not-talk) about the issue, Agnes went ahead and bumped into her like some blind fly buzzing around. Boy was she really confused.
„Ya just can’t keep your hands off me, can ya.” Maya noted with a devilish grin; she did not really mean to open the conversation like that, but her inner Trickster just happened to choose that exact moment to take over „You had me fooled, with the punching and all.”
>> “Ya just can’t keep your hands off me, can ya…You had me fooled, with the punching and all.”
Agnes was fuming and she definitely did not have time for this. What was it, witchy-girls-pick-on-Agnes-Day or something? The irritated runaway only glared back at the young woman without saying a word and brushed past her. She really had no idea what the girl was referring to, but she did look surprisingly familiar, almost as if she he seen her very recently. Did they run into each other in the hall? Did they take any of the same classes? She did talk awfully personally…
She tried to ignore it as she snatched her book up from the sofa and sought out the nearest exit. As she did, she saw another pair of guys chuckling as they spotted her, but quickly turned away the second she caught sight of them.
It was safe to say that Agnes was absolutely livid right now. All she wanted was peace and quiet. First that Gawain kid nearly kills her in the Danger Room, then she snaps in front of the guidance counselor and says WAY too much, and now this? Agnes was just about ready to throw in the towel, leave this place and take her chances on the streets again.
As she headed towards another exit, though, she spied that same familiar young lady watching her. She had the remnants of what looked like it used to be a black eye. Either it was healing or it was covered with make-up, Agnes was not entirely sure. But that did look familiar too…
But it was the fact that she was staring at her and grinning with that devilish grin that really made Agnes snap. She was over this…absolutely and positively done…
Like a raging bull, Agnes stormed over to her, and glared up into her face.
“What princess? You got something to say too?” she fumed as she clenched her fists. But as she looked at her face up close, saw the bruising, the features of her face…the shape of her eyes…Agnes had to admit that did look very, very familiar. Only the person she was thinking of had a more masculine, well not really MANLY but it was the closest simile she could think of, appearance.
"Whoa, whoa" Maya was not easily scared, but Agnes was way too close up in her face, and she did look menacing. Maya raised her hands and took a half step back. Half, mind you. "Eeeasy. Relax, Agnes, I was just kidding..."
She did feel a bit guilty about the whole incident. She was the one who told the guidance counselor about Agnes' scars, and she had been avoiding the bug girl ever since. She knew it was the right thing to do (telling, not avoiding), but she still felt a little bit guilty.
She was not sure from the look on Agnes' face if the coin had dropped yet or not. She looked confused to say the least...
"Look, school's like this all the time. Mutant kids can be real brats when they put some effort into it... I'm sorry."
>> "Whoa, whoa…Eeeasy. Relax, Agnes, I was just kidding..."
Agnes looked like she almost wanted to growl at the young woman, but as she stood there, staring at her, she definitely could see the something recognizable in her face. For some reason it was really bugging Agnes that she simply could not place the young woman. It was not that Agnes made it a point to know who the people in this place were, but when someone got her attention this much, it drove her crazy not figuring out from where she knew them.
Still though, Agnes felt that this was continuously becoming a waste of her time. She was sitting here, becoming a laughing stock to her fellow students and she really was not having any of it. Right now, her room felt like the best place to be. At least that is what she thought.
>> "Look, school's like this all the time. Mutant kids can be real brats when they put some effort into it... I'm sorry."
“Don’t need to tell me twice,” Agnes muttered as she looked around and rolled her eyes at another mutant teen who was giggling in her direction.
She remembered her own high school experience all too well. How many times was she made fun of for being the child of a couple of extreme Bible thumpers? How many times did she receive flak when her parents would be spotted standing outside the her high school with their fellow zealots, screaming about how students need to purify themselves and stop living sinful lives? Pranks and being made fun of were something that Agnes knew well about from her fellow students, but she had hope, probably a little more than she should have, that this place would be different.
Why would she think that? Why would this place be any different? Maybe it was because she figured that most of the students would make the connection that each of them were different, therefore, they should have a little more respect for one another. Apparently that sentiment was not going to be had here.
She sighed as she turned, and made ready to return to her room when she gave the girl another look. She did look awfully familiar…especially when she grinned like that. Why was it?
She had seen that smile before…somewhere…someone…someone whom she slugged for smiling like that too much…
It was then that it finally struck her. Frozen in her spot, she squinted her eyes as she looked at the girl closely…
"Half the time" Maya grinned "It's called gender shifting. Today, I'm Maya."
Agnes looked more confused than ever. Poor girl, she really did not deserve all this in one morning.
"C'mon, I think we should talk. Let's go find if they've left any chocolate in the kitchen." she suggested, more friendly now; even the Trickster had its limits. Or coffee breaks.
"And Victor, if I catch ya listenin' in ever again, ya're gonna spend a week trapped in a basement mirror, ya hear me?" she added, not even looking around to see the boy; the sound of feel quickly fading was a clue enough. Maya smirked.
>> "Half the time…It's called gender shifting. Today, I'm Maya."
Gender-shifting? Agnes was confused by the statement, especially because she had never heard of a power like that before. Sure she had heard those things about men or women feeling like they were trapped in another gender’s body, but the way that was rectified was usually by counseling or surgery. Then again, should she have really been that surprised? Look at her own mutant power. She houses a swarm of nasty insects!
For a moment she thought about it and she had to admit that it did have a strange duality about it. She had seen Gawain with his ability to step in and out of mirrors all the time, maybe this was a drawback to his power…or hers. Agnes really had no idea which way that he had been born first, boy or girl, then again it more than likely did not even manner anymore. He…she…seemed completely content with their power. Obviously or Gawain, Maya as she now goes by, would have never made it as an X-man.
Still though, it was rather shocking that this was the grinning face she had slugged for the exact same reason…that grin. And the fact that he had nearly gotten her killed thanks to zombies.
>> "C'mon, I think we should talk. Let's go find if they've left any chocolate in the kitchen…And Victor, if I catch ya listenin' in ever again, ya're gonna spend a week trapped in a basement mirror, ya hear me?"
Agnes had said nothing but heard a pair of meekish feet go scuttling off into the distance. She would learn who this Victor was later and make him pay for that. She would find a way, maybe a couple of roaches in his cereal in the morning or something. She did have plenty to spare.
Back to the business at hand though, she turned her attention back to Maya as she began to lead the way towards the kitchens. Visibly Agnes shuddered because she remembered all too well what happened the last time she was in there the same time as someone else. She had not seen Faye in the longest time, but she doubted that she forgot anything that happened that day. Just her luck the snotty blonde would be there when she got there with Maya…two more black eyes would be the result of that.
Wait…why did she want to hit Maya again?
Agnes mulled this over as she walked, following Maya but not saying a word. It must have appeared to the gender-shifter that the runaway was still confused about her power revelation. Truth is Agnes was beyond that now and more focusing on why she did feel a justified need to hit the her…then is came back.
As they walked into the kitchen, anger washed over her she suddenly lashed out and grabbed the nearest thing within reach. Before she knew it, she was striking Maya in the back of the head with a bag of Jumbo Puff Marshmallows!
With all her might, Agnes finished the sentence by striking with the bag of marshmallows as hard as was humanly possible with her most deadly of weapon choices before she tossed it aside in frustration. Yeah…Agnes was mad…again…which could only mean that the buzzing was once more emanating from her chest. She forced herself to calm and choke down her feelings…
"HEY!" Maya was moreshocked than hurt; at first she expected a punch in the nose, not a bag or marshmallows. She still took a few steps back and raised her hands in defense. But she didn't really put up a fight; Agnes needed to vent her anger.
"All right all right all right" she protested once the hitting stopped "Calm down..."
She could hear the buzzing. That was not good. If Agnes started spewing bugs, she would have to deal with that: preferably escape into a mirror, or even better, put Agnes in one till she calmed down. Maya loved her new powers.
"Look, I'm sorry, okay? Really. I mean, I know it is not easy for you... but I had to tell someone. The X's and Miss Taylor need to know stuff like that. What would you have done in my place, huh?"
>> "HEY!...All right all right all right…Calm down..."
Agnes had delivered that last hit as hard as she could, but a bag of marshmallows made a poor excuse for a weapon. Maybe that was actually a good thing. After all, she did not want accused to bludgeoning a fellow student, or an X-man, to death with a heavy, blunt object. More than likely if an item like that had been in arms reach a second ago, she would have definitely used it on Maya.
In frustration though, she had tossed the marshmallows aside. Not because Maya had told her to calm down, but simply because she was scared that she would find a way to kill the gender-shifting mirror walker with them!
Agnes stayed back, pressed herself against the counter as she attempted to calm herself down. The swarm was up in arms, she could feel them awaken and buzzing inside of her chest. They wanted out, they wanted to be released to hunt down and attack whatever was threatening her. And never had she been more tempted to release them on purpose. She felt so angry and so betrayed over what Gawain had blabbed to the counselor. That was simply uncalled for and unfair. Because of Gawain’s actions, she had to explain herself to that scary, tall Ms. Taylor, she had a breakdown in the hallway of the school, she released and attracted more insects into the school, and now some rumor was spreading about how she wanted him.
All of this, every single last bit of it, as far as she was concerned, was his/hers fault entirely.
>> “Look, I'm sorry, okay? Really. I mean, I know it is not easy for you... but I had to tell someone. The X's and Miss Taylor need to know stuff like that. What would you have done in my place, huh?"
“I would have kept my mouth shut!” she yelled, wincing as she struggled to hold back the angrily buzzing insects. “I would have respected your privacy! I would have tried to give you a chance to go to the ‘X’s’ and guidance counselor when YOU were ready, instead of having all your dirty laundry aired out behind your back!!”
She meant every word of what she had said, mainly because she knew it was true. Gawain had had not right in telling the counselor her secrets when they were not his to give! They were Agnes’ and if and when she had gotten to the point that she was comfortable to talk about it, she would have. But instead Gawain prematurely did it for her. Because of him, she is now forced to face the horrors of that night, the terrors of what her parents did again, well before she was ready to face them.
The buzzing of deafening but Agnes forced herself to calm down, she breathed as gently as she could, closed her eyes and pretended she was someone where else, but none of it was working. The second she saw Maya’s face, all she saw was Gawain devilish features, and even behind her closed eyelids, again, all she saw was him, sneaking off to tell the guidance counselor…it was no fair and it was not right.
“You…were supposed to be an X-Man,” she muttered angrily, tears welling up. “A real X-Man would have come to me first, asked me if I was ready to talk about this. Not go blabbing around behind my back!”
She spun and tore out of the kitchen, absolutely fed up and fearful that she would indeed kill Maya were she forced to stay in her/his presence much longer.
>>“I would have kept my mouth shut! I would have respected your privacy! I would have tried to give you a chance to go to the ‘X’s’ and guidance counselor when YOU were ready, instead of having all your dirty laundry aired out behind your back!! You…were supposed to be an X-Man. A real X-Man would have come to me first, asked me if I was ready to talk about this. Not go blabbing around behind my back!”
Maya was starting to lose her patience. There was anger and shame that she could understand; and then there was marshmallow-flavored tantrums.
"Oh no ya don't." she muttered, darting after Agnes; into one mirror, out of the other, and she caught up with the girl in the living room, face to face once again.
"When are ya gonna realize this ain't just about you, huh?" she asked, calmly, hands on her hips "Ya're thinkin' it's your own personal problem, and nobody else's business. Well, news flash, baby girl: I am a friggin' X-man, and don' think ya're the only girl with scars I've had to deal with, cuz ya're not. And I don' care if ya're ready or not, I just need to know if whoever did this to you is still out there or not. Because if they are, then it's our job to stop them from doin' it to other people too, mutants or not. And yeah, I take responsibility for what I did, an' ya can punch me all you want, I'd do it again. So. Suck it up, ya're not the only one who had it hard growin' up."
Agnes had nearly gotten away. She had crossed over into the now empty living room, still fuming over what that damn excuse for an X-man had done to her. She still could not believe that he, she, whatever could do such a thing. Some things you let people handle on their own, regardless of how helpful you want to be. Agnes never asked for Gawain’s help, and she was sure by her reaction to his discovering her scars, that he was at least smart enough to interpret that she dod not want him or anyone else to know. Yet, what was the first thing that he did? He blabbed. And now Agnes was left alone to fend off rumors, a nosy counselor and…
>> "When are ya gonna realize this ain't just about you, huh?”
The runaway nearly fainted by Maya sudden appearance from out of one of the mirrors! She felt a momentary urge to deck her out for real, but she was still too focused on her anger.
>> “...Ya're thinkin' it's your own personal problem, and nobody else's business. Well, news flash, baby girl: I am a friggin' X-man, and don' think ya're the only girl with scars I've had to deal with, cuz ya're not. And I don' care if ya're ready or not, I just need to know if whoever did this to you is still out there or not. And yeah, I take responsibility for what I did, an' ya can punch me all you want, I'd do it again. So. Suck it up, ya're not the only one who had it hard growin' up."
It was a bold statement and one that rang with a lot of the truth. The problem was that Agnes was really angry right now, and when she was angry, all reason and logic was literally gone from her. She was not stupid, she knew plenty of other people who had tougher lives. The problem was that they were not the ones being told on right now. They were not the ones being judged by the entire school. They were not the ones that were having their pasts dredged up because of some nosy and untrustworthy X-Man.
They had the privilege of wallowing in their own ignorance. Of eventually forgetting their past whether through sheer force of will or repression. If they wanted to deal with their issues, fine, but that was THEIR choice! Their’s! Agnes had her choice in the matter completely taken away from her.
For that she would never forgive the mirror walking mutant. Not ever.
“Not the only one who’s had it hard?” she finally answered and stormed up to her. “Did your parents tie you down? Did your parents call you a demon? Did your parents cut you, over and over and over again to bleed the evil spirit out? Did they whip you until your back was nearly stripped away to drive out the devil?” Tears dotted the corners of her eyes and began to roll down her cheeks, lip quivering from a combination of sadness and rage. “Did they, surrounded by their damn church, grab a glowing, hot metal brand from a brazier and force it against your stomach to kill the soul of Horseman that lie within you?”
Her words dripped with venom, with anger, with sadness, and with self-pity. It was all too much for her to take anymore. She was tired, she was exhausted, and most of all she really just wanted to strike that young lady that dare say she better suck it up. Or else what?
Finally she choked down another sob as she glared into her eyes. “There…There maybe others who have had it tougher than me, I don’t deny that. But…I had a right…and a choice that you took away from me. And worst of all…you did not even try to talk to me first before you ran to the others tell them. If you are so concerned about everyone else my parents could hurt…you could have shown some concern for me.”
She turned, head down and arms crossed over her chest as she walked slowly and stood facing a wall. She was sure she had cried out every single tear she had left in her body when the counselor Ms. Taylor had finally confronted her. She was sure of it. But here they were, fresh droplets were rolling down her sore, red cheeks from the corners of her eyes. All she wanted was peace from her past. Peace…and a piece of mind.
Shock froze on Maya's face.
"Your parents did this?" she asked quietly, looking at Agnes' back. Then, after a few moments of silence: "F*ck."
That actually did suck worse than anything she'd heard before. Even with the psychotic werewolves and absent parents, the people she knew still had it better than the bug girl. Maya sighed and alked closer, putting a hand on her shoulder.
"Look, Agnes, I'm sorry." she said more quietly "I didn't mean to hurt you. I just... some people I care about got hurt and since then, I really don't want that t happen to anyone else. But you are right, I shoulda talked to you first." she sighed again "Are you all right?"
Agnes did not bother to answer the Maya’s question. Instead she stood there, facing the wall and kept her arms around herself, hugging. She hated having to resort to this, having to tell people what happened to her. She already once did it for Muse, was forced say it to Ms. Taylor, and now repeated it with anger towards Maya. It was certainly a hell of time to start reciting her history to people. What was next? A book deal? Maybe a sitcom based on her life?
Angrily as kicked a table that sat in front of her. She was absolutely fed up with all of this. She really just could not take it anymore. If one more person said they were “sorry” for what she went through, she was going to punch them…
>> "Look, Agnes, I'm sorry…I didn't mean to hurt you. I just... some people I care about got hurt and since then, I really don't want that t happen to anyone else. But you are right, I shoulda talked to you first…Are you all right?"
“F-Fine...” she said through a quivering lip.
Agnes really was not fine, but she was not about to admit it in front of anyone. So far, the thing she had been trying to do every since she ran away from home was to forget everything that ever happened that night. She wanted to forget the whole thing, but nightmares kept her from forgetting. It awakened her in the night, made her paranoid throughout the day, and most of all left her feeling…heavy. A secret like that tends to keep one pretty weighed down. It was a consequence wanting to simply bury and forget things.
So much for that option. She was going to forced to face this…this knew it. The guidance counselor knew and the guidance counselors were obligated by law to reveal such things. It would not be long before police or whatever came knocking at her bedroom door! She could run for it, Sveta said that she could leave whenever she wanted. It might be better than way so she would not have to face all this…
Then Mat’s words popped into her head. He called her a hypocrite because she got angry after hearing he was going to be running from his problems again. She literally shoved him to get her point across that he should not do that! This was different…it had to be…right?
She sniffled as she hugged herself tight and began to cry more deeply. She could not face this…she could not face them…she simply did not feel like she could. And it was unfair that she had to.
Through her wet, blurry eyes Agnes sniffled as she shook her head. “I’m…sorry…I’m sorry I hit you…I’m sorry I yelled at you…” she said, referring to Maya/Gawain who stood behind her. “…I’m sorry I came here…”
>>“I’m…sorry…I’m sorry I hit you…I’m sorry I yelled at you… I’m sorry I came here…”
"I'm not" she muttered, pulling the girl by the shoulder till she sat down on the couch "It's okay. The yellin' and hittin', I can take that." she smirked "Actually, I have a black eye most of the time, I'm not sure people would recognise me if I showed up without one. That was one heck of a punch though." she added with a small chuckle, just to lighten the mood "Ya're strong."
Agnes looked broken. What could anyone expect, from a girl with her background?
"Look, everyone who lives here has been through some kind of hell in the past" she said more quietly "But really, I'm tellin' you, it's the best you can do to stick around. Some kids are brats, and it ain't really better than any normal school, but we look out for each other. Take it form e, I spent month on the streets rather than movin' in here, before I finally made up my mind..."
She felt herself being steered away and, surprisingly, instead of resist tooth and claw…Agnes accepted the gesture. Meekly she held herself as she was lead over to the couch. She was really just too tired to keep up the fighting, the screaming and the crying and simply just let herself be led around. Once she found the couch, Agnes sat and stared sadly down at the nice carpet that she was dripping tears all over. Great…another thing she can blame on herself.
>> "I'm not…It's okay. The yellin' and hittin', I can take that…Actually, I have a black eye most of the time, I'm not sure people would recognise me if I showed up without one. That was one heck of a punch though…Ya're strong."
“Shut up…”
Normally this type of tone was normal for her. Especially these days where she was just running around, being exceptionally angry. But right now, there was a slightly different tone in her voice. Instead of it being just dripping with malice, or wrought with sadness…there was a more a playful wariness in her speech. It really was a different side of her that she was sure Gawain/Maya had not seen yet.
That was probably a little frightening in itself. But instead of saying anything else, Agnes simply returned to we quiet sniffling. Her tears had finally stopped, leaving her eyes red, her cheek wet and her stomach sore. She really never imagined she would have had any tears left in her after that outburst with Ms. Taylor. Can the human body cry so much they eventually dehydrate? Agnes was not willing to find that out.
>> "Look, everyone who lives here has been through some kind of hell in the past…But really, I'm tellin' you, it's the best you can do to stick around. Some kids are brats, and it ain't really better than any normal school, but we look out for each other. She took a slow, steadying breath before she finally managed to calm herself down a little to talk. “I lived in the alleys six or seven months for me, before I came here,” she muttered.
It was strange, at a glance she would have never pegged the gender-shifter of being capable of living on the streets. Oddly enough she did not doubt that most people wondered that about her. It takes a certain kind of person to survive there and not give in to despair. Few people make the week, even fewer survive the month. There was now a small, inkling of respect towards the X-Man…but it was small.
She sighed then, and shook her head. “I guess…I guess I just expected more, coming here. I guess I thought that other students with powers would be more understanding to someone with a grotesque power like mine. Guess it doesn’t matter the type of person…no one is comfortable around bugs.” Another steady breath and Agnes finally looked calm, except the redness in her eyes. “By the way…um…I’m sorry about that rumor. I had…only said it cause I was trying to throw the guidance counselor off track. I really…REALLY don’t want to sleep with you.” she said with the utmost, and probably insulting, honesty. “I mean…my god…YOU. Heh…I’m more likely to win a beauty pageant with a swimsuit round then date you…”
And for the first time in front of him/her…she smiled.
