The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The sun peaked through the trees as Sam looked out his large window and breathed in only to let out a rather large sigh as he scratched the small furry body of Cammie his small Tabby kitten. “Worst day of the year…” muttered Sam as he got up from his bed and looked at the clock to see it read ‘5:30 a.m.’ he was in no rush to get up and moving but being an early bird was more out of habit then anything. On occasion he could roll over and go back to sleep but today wasn’t a day that he felt he had the power to do that.
Looking away from the window and down to the nightstand on his right Sam picked up his phone and frowned slightly at the date on the small digital screen. It was the same thing every year, same day, same set of mind and usually the same living situation. Sam tossed his phone into his pillow as he frowned slightly remembering the date it read, ‘May 25, 2009’ in Sam’s opinion the worst day of the year, the day of Sam’s birth.
Twenty years ago Sam was brought into this world and five years later he was abducted from his family to be left alone on every birthday after that, all but this one. Today was the first birthday that he could actually recall where he wasn’t locked up in a small prison like cell, or out in the wilderness hiding in some raggedy rundown cabin. There were times when he looked forward to his birthday but those days were long gone ten years to be exact.
The day he turned ten he realized that no one cared much for a day or a date in time and there was never a need to celebrate the birth of a tool. No one needed to get personal with anyone else figuring that at any given moment they could be erased from the world with a simple delete button. The button meant either some one was killed or needed to be killed so there was never a reason to get close to anyone. Sure there were a few select individuals that made the birthdays easier to get through but those memories always left a bad taste in his mouth.
Days like today he wished he was a time manipulator opposed to what he could do. Days like today he wished he could just hit a fast forward button and skip the day and pretend like it never happened. Time wishing was time wasted however so Sam reluctantly carried on with the day and figured it was high time he continued on with his training, seeing as since Leila was around the training took a back seat to her. As he exited his room he looked once at the pillow where her head laid to rest only weeks before and sighed feeling all the more lonely on his least favorite day of the year.
Three hours later after smashing some robots, eating a small breakfast and a shower Sam walked down the halls with a small frown on his face, which could clearly be visible to any who was used to seeing a cheery smile on his face. Twirling his fingers in his pocket his fingers ran up and down a small silver harmonica that he carried with him since he was a child. Almost out of habit Sam looked for a quiet secluded area in the mansion and decided to play.
Surprisingly enough the living room was vacant and seeing as it was still early Sam figured he had time to get a few notes out before anyone would investigate. Sitting at the window bench Sam looked up to the sky and realized that the sun was no longer visible as dark clouds started to form, another perk to his most hated day.
One thing Dominic loved about the location of his room was the large tree that stood just outside his window and for awhile now, it had been a favorite spot of his. Having now acquired the Squirrel and jumping spider, the teen had his options of either climbing up from the outside or just plainly leaping from his window and into the branches. The latter was his preferred way of escaping his room to his own place in the branches, where he could get away and reflect on the events of his life. Today he felt that he'd express his feelings through music. His instrument of choice was the flute, which he had learned to play back in elementary school when his birth parents where still alive. The very flute he carried with him today was a gift from them, and so it was one of the few material possessions he really treasured. Perched up on a branch, Dominic held his flute in hand and began to play one of his favorite songs. A song with a somewhat doleful melody, though with a simple message that there is always beauty and spring somewhere. Winter will find its end sooner or later and even if sun sets today, tomorrow it will rise again and maybe tomorrow is a better day. That was definitely a lesson that Dominic had learned and tries to keep it near and dear to his heart. While his life seemed be going in an endless spiral of hell, things were finally starting to look up since he came to the mansion and found Sam.
Dominic knew what today was his brother's birthday and for all his life it had been depressing because Sam was gone and so there was never any reason to celebrate it. All it did was remind him of what he had lost, at least not anymore since the brothers had been reunited since Dominic was a toddler. Maybe it was time to start celebrating the day instead on lamenting over it because with Sam back in his life, there really wasn't any reason to mope. Ending his song, Dominic lowered the flute from his lips and gazed at the sky. He could see the sky becoming gloomier and the gray clouds looming over the area. Yeah, that was really encouraging for a happy birthday.
The blonde though it'd be best if he jumped back inside before it decided to pour down on him and so he leaped from the tree branches onto the side of the building, wallcrawling back into his room using the spider DNA within him. Standing in his room, Dominic though about what exactly would be a good present to get Sam. It was kind of hard to give something to a guy who was loaded and could buy just about anything they wanted anyway. Sam seemed to have everything material wise. Maybe something more sentimental would do. That's when Dominic had an idea. He remembered another picture he carried with him besides the one of him and Sam as children. Dominic actually had a family portrait of them, with their parents included. Though it included Sam as a toddler and Dominic himself as a baby. He didn't show Sam before because well...he didn't know how his older sibling would really react. I mean, he did deck Dominic when he first arrived claiming to be his brother. However since they've been around each other for a month, Dominic figured that maybe it was a good time to start it. Dominic had his parents in his memories. He could at least share them with the photo.
He snatched the picture from a note book he had in his bottom drawer and quickly rushed off to find Sam, even with his flute still in his other hand. He used a canine's sense of smell to track Sam down by his scent and his nose led him to the living room, where the Ice mutant sat alone next to a window playing a harmonica, seemingly pouring out his feelings in song. Dominic couldn't help but laugh on the outside. Here he was thinking that Sam was the hard assed brother and Dominic the more sensitive, but it seemed to express themselves by music. Though it wasn't really surprising since music was a universal language and a great away to communicate your feelings without having to say anything. He stood there for a moment listening to Sam's song. Mostly to pick up the notes, something he had trained his ear to do from being the first chair flute player in band during middle school and his freshman year of high school.
Once having the notes figured out, Dominic tucked the photo away in his back pocket and brought his flute to his lips again. Walking into the living room, the younger sibling began playing in sync with the melody of being played by Sam on his harmonica.
Alexandra stretched her left leg slightly then repeated the process with her right. Letting out a small yawn, she placed the book down and looked across at the infirmary window. She lost herself in the gaze for a few moments, she felt uneasy, something she couldn’t quite describe. It was like she was missing a part of her, it was a feeling she had never felt before and the most annoying of facts was that she was unable to name what was wrong with her.
“Alexandra!”
The molecule manipulator turned her head startled by this sudden intrusion in her thoughts and her eyes met the Doc. A frown was upon his face as he eyed her standing in one of the infirmary beds. The infirmary doors closed with a soft thud behind him and Alexandra gave an innocent smile. Well, they could put a more comfortable chair for the Infirmary Assistant.
“Yes?” she asked, her voice full of the same innocence shown on her face. The doc, turned his head, shaking it slightly and muttered something about teens under his breath. “Bring Sam Johnson’s file into my office. I need to do some updating.” he said as he tossed a pair of keys to her. Alexandra caught the keys and batted her eyelashes innocently as she got down from the sterile infirmary bed. Just as the doc was closing the doors to his office, she closed her book about polymers and placed it on her small desk.
Juggling the keys from a hand to another, she walked over at the cabinets that were holding the medical records of every student or resident of the mansion. Ironically enough, that particular cabinet was the reason of her job in the infirmary. Searching for the letter ‘J’, she slightly muttered the names she was reading as fingers were pushing folders one by one. Johnson, Dominic Ashlynn. And finally Johnson, Sam. With a swift move she retrieved the said folder and locked the J drawer.
She took a small step with the intention to take the folder into the doc’s office, silently humming a melody, when she suddenly stopped. Curiosity took over her and while this wasn’t the time to look trough personal files, she glanced at the office door then back to the folder. Hell, she could forge some excuse in case the doc prof caught her. She opened the yellowish folder containing Sam’s medical records and a picture greeted her. For a few seconds she looked into his eyes but upon realizing what she was doing she shook her head slightly and moved on to the records. Well, Sam had visited the infirmary quite a few times. Broken bones, laser burns and such. Probably Danger Room, she thought to herself.
“ALEXANDRA!”
The voice startled her once again and she almost dropped the files. Her head shot up and looked at the door. But they were still closed and just now she realized that the impatient voice was coming from the office. “I’m coming. I can’t lock the drawer properly.” she said loud enough for him to hear, but not loud enough to be considered disrespectful. She glanced once more at the file, this time at the beginning.
Name: Johnson, Sam Codename: Cold Steel Gender: Male Age: 19 Birthdate: 05/25/89 Nationality/Ethnicity: Caucasian/ - Birthplace: …
Stop. Hold on. Her eyes went back to the birthday line. 05/25/89. So his birthday was this month? Strangely, she hadn’t heard anything around the mansion and a birthday was something that was usually talked about weeks before. Closing the file, she glanced at the calendar on one of the Infirmary walls to see what date they were in. Her eyes remained glued on the piece of cartooned paper as a red square was around 25. Today was his birthday?
“Alexandra, are you coming or do I need to pick the damn folder myself?”
The doc’s voice brought her out of the reverie and she began to walk automatically to the office doors, her mind still on the fact that this day was Sam’s birthday. While she asked herself why did she care so much, she also wondered why Sam didn’t mention anything to her or at least to someone in the mansion. Pushing the office doors open, she walked to the doc’s desk and placed the folder on it. The doc gave her a stern look but Alexandra just gave another innocent smile and he shook his head slightly before taking the folder and opening it.
However, his eyes went back up as Alexandra’s figure hadn’t moved one inch and was starring somewhere into the space behind him. “Can I do something for you?” She looked at him with confused eyes. “Hmm?” An eyebrow rose as the doctor blinked in suspicion at her sudden thoughtful expression. When that expression disappeared, a mischievous smile appeared on her face as her sky blue eyes looked at him. “Actually… I was wondering if I can take this day off instead of Sunday…” The other eyebrow rose on the man’s face and her wondered something too. Like what was on her mind, for example. “Sure.” he said with a suspicious tone. A grin appeared on her face. “Great. See you tomorrow, doc.” she said in a cheerful voice as she left the room humming some song. “Teens.”
~~~ *** ~~~
She walked at a slow, thoughtful pace through the mansion’s hallways, holding a thin rectangular box in her hand wrapped in icy blue paper. The box contained a few hours of work encased in one DVD holding sequences of her filming around the Mansion. All of them featured Sam and in most of them he was surrounded by his friends and he was happy.
A card was attached to the box and it read ‘To Sam, friend extraordinaire. A reminder that you’re not alone. Happy birthday!’ It was the best gift she could think of, buying something seemed impersonal and cold in her vision, especially when he seemed he wasn’t enjoying his own birthday. And even if she was wrong, a reminder that he always had friends was better than any object she could have bought.
She had checked most of the places Sam could have possibly been: his room, his office, the Danger Room, the kitchen and she was now heading to the living room. If he wasn’t here, then she would have continued this quest around the Mansion grounds. Music reached to her from quite a distance and from the sad notes that were being played she somehow expected to find Sam there. Before she could ask herself who was the other person inside the room as two instruments were being played, she had reached the door. She stopped there, Sam’s presence being confirmed now. She leaned against the door frame, just watching Sam and Dom playing the sad song and kept silent until they were finished in order to signal her presence.
Like a good student Koga had already trained with Cs Today and man if he was normally a strict trainer to work for , sour grapes had made him all the more grumpy, Koga had gotten used to a certain strictness to his studies but he certainly wasn't mean most of the time, which he was today. He put Koga through some of the roughest stuff yet and was a bit more slcking on the praise today, Koga was a forgiving student besides, CS was a sure thing. He would learn and grow from the training weather he was mean or not.
A quick stop to the offices and a careful question here or there and a couple things that Cs had mentioned over the time they spent together. Well he had the puzzle figured out with a quick question and a brisk perusal of the files of an empty welcoming office. He was off and running. He ran out side and went strait to the Green house and then picked up the pair of saplings that he had been nurturing for the first occasion that came up. He already had the spot picked out. the pair of saplings were carefully intertwined. and the two pots below them waited next to a hole shortly, now just to find Cs and show him what would grow into a massive plant that would be great for growing trees.
He thought it was a good gift because it would always be there, and Koga would see to its raring and make sure it grew into something stronger. the funny thing about these particular plants is that when they were twisted around each other they could survive for much longer then they could on their own. and were much much much more sturdy.
Sam was much to stressed for being around the community he had here, at least in Koga's opinion. He dashed again at top speed into the mansion. and skidded to a stop almost running into a woman, that Sam would appreciate. the skidding was about to bring him into a tackle of the woman and so he made an abrupt turn and wen up the wall and around and up to ceiling his hair now hung directly above the woman and since his feet were covered by the arch way made it look like he was balanced on Circe's head. He grinned and waited above the woman, she would have been getting their attention any how as the song would be more then likely coming to a close.
For some people Mondays were the worst day of the week. In fact for most working people, Mondays were the worst day of the week but when you were the boss that wasn't necessarily true. Thanks to fact that he had employees he knew he could trust, Monday was just as good or bad as any other day for Mr. Luke Jacobs. Today, Luke had decided to be a little lazy. He had called Miss Langstan to let her know he wouldn't be in to the office and then he'd driven out to the mansion to be with a few friends.
Parking his motorcycle in the garage, Luke could feel the cool breeze blowing as well as the increased moisture in the air. It was more than likely going to rain but who cared? As long as he was at the mansion with friends there was no way that weather could put him in a bad mood.
Leaving his sunglasses and leather jacket with the bike, Luke strolled into the mansion wearing sneakers, khaki pants, and a dark brown shit with teal highlights on the sleeves. After going into the kitchen to grab a bottle of water he headed for the living room where he could hear the sounds of music playing.
Pausing at the doorway from the front hall into the living room, Luke raised an eyebrow ever so slightly at what he found. Sam and Dominic were playing a piece of music he had never heard before while Alexandra looked on silently and a certain young man hung from the archway above her. He could see the mischievous smile on the young man's face and he couldn't help but return it with a quick grin of his own.
"Do you have to buy tickets for this concert or is it free for everyone?" Luke asked after the music had finally ended, "Interesting party you all have going here."
All the feelings he had for the moment was poured into his lips as he blew into the different slots that produced the different pitches. Even if he tried to stay disconnected to it he didn’t have much luck he was in fact feeling lonely and abandoned mainly due to the fact that Leila had been gone for so long without so much as a warning. Along with the feelings he had for someone else in the mansion Sam was in quite a pickle. After sometime Sam heard someone walk in and start playing the flute. With a quick glance from the window Sam spotted his younger brother playing along surprisingly well for joining half way through.
Call it what you want even if they were having a brother bonding moment Sam wanted to hit him. Sam was never use to anyone other that a few people seeing him as weak the only two people so far at the mansion was Neena and Leila, Ghost had seen more than he would have liked but nothing the other two women had seen, but so far nothing bad has come out of it other than Ghost getting kidnapped but that was before she learned all the details.
As the song ended the frown and narrowing eyes faded away as he put his harmonica down to spot Alexandra, Koga and Luke. With a his usual fake smile Sam nodded to everyone and said, “First show is free anything after that…” he left the joke lingering as he looked at everyone and got up from his seat at the window sill and put his harmonica in his pocket giving it a slight tap before he let it drop into his pocket.
Glancing around to see everyone Sam eyes lingered on Alex the longest as his heart beat quickened out of habit since what ever happened a few days ago at the party happened… he couldn’t explain it the feelings were there before but no it was torture to be in a room and not stare at her. Turning his attention to Koga Sam frowned slightly, “Surprised you can still walk… guess I’ll have to make the next session harder…” even if he was frowning he kept his tone in a joking matter to let Koga know he was only half kidding.
His frown and smile fading Sam’s thoughts lingered on the fact that today was his birthday. He looked at his friends in the room and sighed whishing that he could just be left alone for the day. It was one of those days where the bitter taste stayed in your mouth regardless how many times you brushed or when you just got done doing some sort of job and no matter what you washed your hands with they never got clean.
Walking towards the exit Sam patted Dom on the head and said to everyone as he passed Koga standing upside down over Alex’s head and Luke in the hallway, “Sorry, I have an important phone call to make…” Sam looked to Luke and nodded slightly letting him know that his time with Leila was close to a finish all that was needed was a phone call. He knew he was being rude and but he had good reason. As he was far enough away from the room and heading up the stairs to his room Sam dialed the number that he had memorized and programmed into memory so many months ago.
He sighed as he got the answering machine, “Leila…. It’s Sam….”
[OOC: Thread isn’t over stick around or join Dom will be planning a surprise party]
Dominic was no mutant with empath abilities, but he did have a sense of empathy when it came to figuring out one's emotions. Then again, he didn't need to think hard about it what was going on with his brother. It was too obvious by the tune they were playing that Sam had some rather depressed feelings and Dominic couldn't really see why. Sam had yet to open up about his past to Dom nor did he mention anything about Leila, so he didn't have a clue on Sam's reason to be so sad. After the music ceased, Dom turned to see the arrivals. The beautiful Alex, Mr. Jacobs and some kid hanging from the ceiling over Alex. He guessed they had all came to wish Sam a happy birthday was well, but it seemed that they wouldn't get the chance. As he was patted, Dominic watched his older sibling leave the room.
"Jeez, and I thought I was the one with issues..." Dominic muttered. It wasn't right for Sam to be this way on his birthday. He should be happy! He had a great home, great friends and the best little brother anyone could ever ask for, so Dom thought anyway. Next thing Dom knew, he would start to hear Linkin Park blasting from Sam's room and the ice mutant walking out with black hair swooped over his eyes, a Jack Skellington shirt two sizes too small, black mascara and lipstick and wearing jeans so tight there'd be no way Dom would ever have nieces and nephews after Sam's junk was crushed. There was no way Dom would let Sam become Emo! That and this would be the first birthday the brothers would get to share since being separated all those years ago and Dom was gonna make damn well sure that it would be a good one.
"Guys...we have to do something," the teen said walking over to Alex, Luke and Koga. "It's obvious that Sam is very special and important to us all and we don't want him to start wearing vampire fangs and drinking tomato juice claiming that it's blood while listening to Marylin Manson..." he said. "You guys saw him...and heard the music. It's obvious that he's bummed out, so we have to cheer him up. It's his birthday, he should be happy. So I was thinking...what if we threw him a party? No way I can pull this off by myself so I'll need some assistance if you don't mind. We should probably call some others to help as well..." he said bringing a hand to his chin as he thought about the arrangements that would have to be done.
"Alright, first of all, we have to get Sam out the mansion. Maybe a day out with some fresh air would do him some good anyway. Alex, I'm leaving that up to you. I don't care what you do. Take him out for a movie, for lunch, a day at the park, go have some Snoo snoo, do whatever it takes to keep him occupied and away from the mansion until we're ready." he spoke to Alexandra and then turned to Luke.
"Luke, can I get your assistance in making some calls? Ghost, Shin, Shawn, whoever can help and we need guests. We have to get this place set up with decorations and do you think you can order some party platters as well? Chicken wings, chips and dip, veggie platters, deviled eggs, just standard party snacks" he nodded to the blind man. Then using his spider DNA, Dominic jumped and clung himself to the ceiling so that he would be eye to eye with Koga. "And you my friend can help me with the cake and ice cream...both of which we'll be making from scratch." he grinned as he waited everyone's replies.
Alexandra closed her eyes, letting the notes surround her and enter her mind and heart, each one of it making her heart to become smaller and smaller and throb painfully. Confusion was swirling in her mind, why was she feeling so sad now? Everything was so perfectly fine until a few days ago; she could see Sam and still be able to breathe normally, to pretend that she wasn't affected by his presence, she could easily convince herself that nothing was wrong and all she did at the Mansion was spying.
But now, seeing Sam so weak and sad, she shared these feelings in such an intense way that she could swear they were her own. It was like if she didn't do anything to make him feel better, to make him feel happy, she would collapse on the living room floor from the weight she was feeling being pushed on her shoulders. What was she feeling?
Friendship? Was this all? She never had many friends but she was certain that friendship never caused her such intense emotions. Love? Her eyes widened and looked for Sam. God, no. No, she wasn't supposed to feel anything related to love, ever. She shook her head slightly, her mind trying to erase the previous thought. Most certainly it was friendship, the man had done so much things for her in these months as a mansion residents and she was beginning to feel attached to him. Yes, that was the explanation; there was no possible way for her to feel love for a man, especially not for an X-Man.
Her thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the sound of running and Alexandra turned around to see a boy running toward her at high speed and by the looks he was about to run into her when he made an abrupt turn. Next thing Alexandra knew, the boy was hanging from the ceiling right above her and her head tilted upwards to get a clear look at him. "Hello there." she said with a small smirk.
The appearance of a certain man she had jokingly begun to call master ever since their constant training sessions made her head turn to a normal position in order to see Luke. "Hey." she said softly and before she could say something else, the song ended and Sam finally spoke.
She saw trough his fake smile right away, it was nowhere next to his usual smiles or attitudes and her heart throbbed painfully once again. Her hand gripped the bluish box behind her back tighter as she watched Sam excuse himself from being near his friends. If that wasn't proof enough that he wasn't overjoyed with his birthday then what was? Her eyes lingered on his figure as he left, and just when Dom began to speak, her head turned from starring at the now empty space to the blonde teenager.
Dominic. Sure, always trust Dom of seeing things in his own way. Alexandra gave a half smile as Dom mentioned the vampire Sam and barely managed to suppress the instinct of slapping him when he mentioned her to have snoo snoo with Sam to keep him busy. But Dom was quite right, this day was about Sam and she knew that he didn't say anything to make her embarrassed in front of the new boy or Luke. Hopefully.
As Dom continued to give instructions for Sam's surprise birthday party, she looked up where he was now standing next to Koga and gave a determined nod. "I'm on it Dom." she spoke then started walking toward the adults dorms giving Luke a slight pat on the arm and a wink as she passed him.
After making a slight detour to her room to drop the gift, Alexandra found herself starring at Sam's door, trying to gather enough courage to knock on the door. She wondered if she would be able to pull Sam out of the Mansion and out of his mood, this wasn't her specialty, she always preferred fighting people and not comforting them. Taking a deep breath, she finally knocked on the door. "Sam?" Hell, whether Sam was gonna come out of his room and from the Mansion to let Dom get his party done or she was gonna seal the damn door, windows and every other possible exit from that room.
“Hi.” Koga Whispered down to the woman his hair almost making it look like he extended from the top of her head. “Hope I didn’t catch you off guard too much.” “ Hey.” He said in unison with the woman below him. Note: to self don’t looking down is improper when above women who wear shirts with cleavage. He offered an upside down smile to the man in the shades and his snarky comments, he assumed that he was Luke, He hadn’t interacted with him to closely and would have more than likely known him as Mr. Jacobs.
“Surprised you can still walk… guess I’ll have to make the next session harder…”
“Ssssure thing. If you can ssstill walk after wardsss expect me to be running around.” The end was a bit of a boast that had found his way while learning from Sam. Confidence was a good thing if you could back it up. it typically made him laugh but hadn’t done much good today. He was about to add more when Sam made his melancholy exit. He was being a bit unrecognizable, forcing smiles and not quite pulling it off.
He nodded to Dominic and whole heartedly agreed with the young man. And then his mouth dropped err rose as the case would be since they were both now upside down on the ceiling, the first thing he did was look at Dominic’s feet to see if he had to hold on with his toes or what.
"And you my friend can help me with the cake and ice cream...both of which we'll be making from scratch."
“Ssssoundsss good. Though I hope you can cook, or at least know a recipe, I can follow recipe. Regardlessss I’ll try.”
As soon as Sam stopped playing Luke realized that his somewhat comical comments might not have been the best for the current situation. Even though Sam was quick to flash a smile at everyone nearby, the blind man could see from his body language that something wasn't right. Sam was bothered and upset about something and Luke couldn't really be sure quite what.
Wheels were turning and things began to click in place as Sam nodded slightly to him while making a comment about a phone call. With their previous discussions being taken into account it was no great leap of logic to assume thaht Sam must have come to some decision about the situation with Leila.
"... It's his birthday, he should be happy."
"His birthday?" Luke asked with a raised eyebrow. Now that would bring all kinds of other emotions into the situation. Not only was Sam bummed out because his girlfriend has been MIA for the past several weeks but now he was bummed because she wasn't around for his birthday. Suddenly the ice-mancer's attitude was making a lot more sense.
"I can handle making some calls and leave the food and snacks to me." Luke replied, smiling slightly at just how quickly Dominic had jumped in to try and help his brother. Even though the two brothers were still relatively knew to this sort of relationship they were already beginning to show a closeness that could only come from family. "But you've got to give me a time that we're shooting for. Are we going for an afternoon party or an evening party? If you're planning on making a home made cake and home made frosting I would suggest an evening party. That cake will have to cool before you put the frosting on it."
While the three males began to discuss food and party information, Luke's sonar watched as Alexandra slipped off to follow Sam. Luke wasn't sure that she was the best choice for this assignment since he had a pretty good idea what Sam was dealing with but it wasn't his place to say. Maybe this would be the opportunity for something other than just friendship to happen between the two. Luke just wouldn't worry about it and instead would concentrate on completing his missions.
"Alright, see ya later, Alex. Good luck...." Dominic waved watching the beauty make her exit. His eyes lingered on her backside for a few moments, but all it took was a drop of blood from his nose to snap him back to his senses. Quickly wiping his face, he returned his attention back to Koga and Luke. "Don't worry about it. I know how to cook and I can look up some recipes.
"Yeah, I'm shooting for an evening party. Food, music, dancing, the whole works. Age 20 is a milestone. Leaving the teens and becoming a young adult. He needs a celebrate it right." Dominic said. "I think 8pm is a good time for the party to start, and it's a little past noon now. We should start setting up! Koga, I'll meet you in the kitchen in a bit. I've gotta grab those cake recipes." the blonde said hopping from the ceiling back to his feet on the floor and bolting out the living room.
"All right. I'll meet up with you two later to let you know how the arrangements have gone." Luke said with a quick smile and nod before pulling out his cell phone and walking over toward the couch. There was work to be done.
