The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Although he could not move and right now he could not even use his wheelchair, the teenager smiled happily from his bed. Anyone who had been in that situation would have implied that the joy was due he escaped an unfortunate accident, it was not entirely wrong. Well, Fausto suffered a love accident that had cost more than what he was willing to sacrifice for a woman. Although it was not clear in his mind the events that led to that tender kiss on his cheek that made of himself a creature with no sense of pain in his own body. He did not remember how he arrived at the mansion, through DocProf comments he could almost get an idea of the state he entered the infirmary. And it was not anything good. The bones of his arms and legs were broken in multiple parts, shattered causing small incisions in the muscles, like his broken ribs that despite being weak did lacerations on his lungs. A quick and effective medical intervention saved him from a certain death. The magic hands of the doctor also had erased the scars on his face, now he just needed to wait until all his bones could regain the strength they had before.
His was a genuine smile, full of peace but mostly relief. An expression that had not appeared on his face in the last month neither accidentally. He did not mind at all that his upper and lower extremities in casts, and the not less important fact that his battered ribs caused a stabbing pain from the inside that seemed to be opening his chest in half. He could only concentrate on one feeling at a time and he had not the slightest intention of changing its state of bliss for a mere inconvenience...
His roommate, David, who slept soundly since entering the infirmary produced a heavy snoring, like grunts, who broke the stillness of the place. His condition was somewhat unusual, too, somehow he worked its powers to the limit and right now he had to rest for a few days. Fausto was not sure what that meant, but at first glance his companion was not going to wake up soon.
The doctor was not there at that time, he would surely be in his room enjoying a deserved rest. His partner was not a major source of fun, Fausto could not count on him. And his hands completely in cast did not allowed him to play with his cell phone. His boredom got to limits he had never suspected existed, one of its "entertainments" was to find a logical pattern in the irregular snoring of David. His brain was working hard on that chimerical dream when his ears caught something more interesting in the outskirts. He left the inner philosophical discussion about the possible wild language spoken by his partner aside and remained silent, listening between snoring and snoring. It seemed that someone was near... In his mind he toss a coin in the most beautiful fountain wishing with all his heart for an acquaintance to show in. Of having been possible he would have crossed his fingers.

Gina had never been one for hospitals, or doctors' offices or anything of that medical persuasion. Even the Infirmary at the Mansion made her nervous, for reasons she couldn't quite name. She intended on avoiding it until she was either deathly ill or injured beyond repair, and there were few things that would bring her there. One would be being forcibly dragged to the Infirmary, the other would be her being ill or injured, and the other would be the poor health or injury of a friend.
She'd heard of Fausto's current state by virtue of the gossip grapevine. Though she'd recently become skeptical about it, due to the rumors about her roommate Agnes, the rumors about Fausto's injuries were too drastic to ignore. According to the girl talking about it, she said that the wheelchair-bound boy that could eat anything was currently restricted by many, many casts in the infirmary. As far as Gina knew, there was only one wheelchair-bound boy that could eat anything, and rumor of his injury was too drastic to ignore. After all, Fausto was her friend, and so it was her obligation to be there for him despite her unease over Infirmaries.
She currently stood outside of the Infirmary, behind the closed door, summing up the courage to go in. With her, she carried a bag of miniature Oreos, which was tightly grasped in her hand, and a Sharpie in her back pocket. The Oreos were a "get well" gesture, which Gina had opted for in place of flowers or a card. The Sharpie was to deface one of his casts, or at least a small portion of one.
She pushed the door open hesitantly, a loud groan announcing her arrival as she poked her head in. She was greated by an equally-resonant snore, which came from a boy that was dozing in one of the beds. Beside him, Fausto was in the bed, his legs and arms bound in casts.
"Oh my God," Gina gasped, quietly closing the door behind her, "What happened to you? Did you fall, or get in a fight, or what?" She walked quickly over to the bedside, the plastic bag crinkling as she clenched her fists anxiously. If someone had beaten him up, she'd go after them-- what kind of person went after a boy in a wheelchair? "Does it hurt? Are they treating you well?" Gina began to ramble anxiously, obviously distressed, "My God, Fausto. You're practically a mummy."

His prayers were answered, the steps he heard in the hallway actually went into the infirmary, his heart raced with joy seeing that indeed these steps were from his new friend, Gina. Who came in response to his mental call. Or was David who made the call? It did not matter anyway, now he had someone to talk, he manifested his bliss into a huge smile on his face, bruised but free of scars. The smile did not last long. Fausto even doubted if she had seen it, he quickly got rid of it while listening to her interrogation. She was worried. He quickly shook his head in a gesture of denial, his head was the only thing that could move without feeling a twinge of pain. "It was just an accident..." The boy hurried to answer the questions of his friend, and even had the intention of smiling happily to show that he was not acting... unfortunately his body contradicted him at that moment with another bitter pang at the height of the ribs. His smile twisted into a small content wince. "Yes, to both questions. It hurts a little, I'm still healing but the Doc did an excellent job."
His eyes leaped discretely from the face of his friend to the crumpled package in her hands, trying to figure out what she had brought to him. Thought he claimed to recognize what it was. Despite the fact that the doctor knew his food preferences, he keep feeding him healthy and tasteless food. Hospital food. Until he could go out, he was not going to enjoy the cookies and cakes prepared in the Belfont´s mansion, or the extravagant taste of rusted metal...
He smiled again at the thought of being a mummy... strange occurrence. If he had lived in ancient Egypt would surely have that kind of burial, for someone of his class would be appropriate to possess his own pyramid, and his own curse for looters. He laughed and his rib cage in motion provided him with a sharp pain. He should quit doing it... At the time the pain ended another idea was around his head bringing silly smiles to his lips, it was the fact that he became even more famous. It was good to know that at that time the whole school would be talking about himself, about his "accident" and making up rumors about what happened... luckily no one knew the real story. Not even he knew the details. "What did they say about this?Any cool rumor?"

Gina gradually relaxed as Fausto explained that it had been an accident. He then nodded in affirmative to reassure her that they were taking care of him, and that it did hurt.
"Didn't they give you any painkillers or anything?" Gina grumbled, "Or do those work for you?" After all, he was capable of dissolving anything with his saliva, so if he tried to take pills, would the effect of them even hit his stomach? Fausto laughed at the notion of being a mummy, which also seemed to cause him pain. Gina couldn't help but smile. Even as injured as he was, he was still acting like the same old goof in the wheelchair.
"What did they say about this? Any cool rumor?"
Gina shrugged and said, "Oh, it's varied from person-to-person. I mean, one person said it was because you took on some thugs, another said it was some top secret business." Gina smirked, crinkling her nose. She was kidding, "Truth be told, no one really knew what happened, so they just filled in the blanks with their own imagination. The only thing they could seem to keep straight was that the guy in the wheelchair, who could eat anything, was brought back here, and he looked really beat up. You're the only guy I know that fits that description."
The whole explanation was a bore, and so she flapped her hand to show that she wouldn't go further with it.
"Here, I brought something for you," Gina began, nodding her head, "I try not to be too sentimental but I thought you could use something to brighten your spirits." She drew the package out, for Fausto to see all of its artifical, miniature glory. "Nothing much, just some Mini Oreos. Figured it was better than flowers or a card, though." She looked around, the opted to set it on the bedside table

"When I arrived I had general anesthesia and with that I felt nothing, but later he gave me painkillers..." The boy explained it quite simply. Despite the pain from those wounds, Fausto could not help but smile and laugh out loud. Finally, the disease had stopped... after a strange moment that his bones were like sand pebbles. He really did not care if painkillers were not doing their job efficiently. He was alive, and the disease was just a bad memory. "Doc gave me the normal dose, but it still hurts. The pills dissolve faster and lose some effectiveness. " He did not add anything else. What he knew was based on his experience, so it did not include a detailed knowledge of the chemical reactions involved.
For Fausto there was one thing that never change, regardless the circumstances surrounding him: he wanted fame. And those news tell him what he wanted to hear, everyone in the school had at least one version of what had happened. Obviously all invented, but they were lifting a myth full of intrigue and ... Why not? Heroism. Why Fausto should take the trouble to deny it? With a calm but serious expression, his dark eyes fixed on hers but trying to look natural to avoid suspicious. "It is all true, I'm with the CIA." His serious face did not last long, as he held the laugh ineffectually. After a few seconds he talked again in a happy and carefree tone as always, amused by his little joke. "Is not true." He laughed merrily again. "But it would have been great..."
He wanted to eat those Oreos in one bite, but his hands did not allowed him to do that. So he wisely decided to leave it for later. It would be safe on the table near him. Actually anyone could come in and stole everything without Fausto being able to get out of be... then the precious gift was not entirely safe. "Everything is food for me, You would not have been wrong with any of the three gifts."
Sveta had been standing in the Infirmary door for a while, waiting; she was waiting for her courage to catch up to her. She brought Fausto in, but hadn't seen him since then; people in the Mansion didn't know much about the two of them, and the only thing that got out about the Valentine's accient were some vague rumors. Still, it was weird, when the love spell or whatever wore off, Sveta didn't really know how to talk to Fausto now. So she stood outside the door and waited.
>>"It is all true, I'm with the CIA... Is not true. But it would have been great..."
She heard Fausto laugh. He hadn't been laughing much lately; it was nice to hear it, even though he sounded a bit exhausted, probably from the pain. She also heard a girl laugh; so Fausto had a visitor. Sveta backed away from the door a few steps; now it felt like she was listening in to something that was none of her business...

Gina took a seat on the neighboring bed, listening as he retold the story about how he'd been under an anesthetic, and given painkillers that hadn't been doing their job quite well enough. It made sense, with how his saliva could dissolve just about anything, but hadn't the doctor taken this into consideration? Could he have done anything about it? Gina spotted a tray of pill bottles on the opposite end of the room, and assumed that there would be something for pain.
"You want to try and take some more painkillers?" Gina asked, inclining her head. Even though Fausto was trying hard to keep up his jovial tendencies, she could tell that every time he laughed, his motion was only met by physical retalliation. Before he could answer, she was over by the tray, rifling through the miscellaneous pill containers in search for some heavy-duty pain meds.
"CIA, huh?" she echoed from the other end of the room, chuckling at the idea, "Maybe I should hold off on the meds, as the old meds have seemed to mess with your head." She smirked at Fausto over her shoulder, to show that she was kidding. She was trying hard not to fuss over him, as she was often so good at worrying about the well-being of her friends.
Fausto assured her that, if she'd bought him flowers or a card, he could have eaten those, too, so she wouldn't have gone wrong with any of the gifts.
"Faust-o!" Gina sighed with humor, shaking her head as she continued to rifle through the pill bottles. She wasn't having any luck finding pain meds. In fact, she'd found everything except for pain meds. At least the strong ones, anyways. She figured that a typical pain pill, usually better suited for headaches and minor pains, would be as about as ineffectual as a Tic Tac for Fausto.
"You know where the Doc keeps the strong stuff?" Gina inquired, turning to face Fausto, "I can't seem to find any." Now that she thought about it, it was odd that the Doc wasn't here now. Gina hummed discontently, looking around the Infirmary. Where was the doctor, anyways?

Although Fausto thought it was impossible to increase the noise in the room, now there was more noise than before. To the snoring of his roommate were added their talk and laugh, creating the aforementioned noise. Normal humans would be able to sleep that way, but David was not a human. Nothing was going to stop him from having a entire week of sleep. In contrast, the hallway was in total silence. It was a desert plain... until a teenager turned at the corner with the determination to end the terrible silence. When he entered the hall he was wearing a sleeveless shirt and military style trousers but instantly after seeing the "angel " who guarded the door of the infirmary, he was wearing a black tuxedo that seemed tailor-made. The boy traveled the meters between them elegantly, as if the suit had provided him with a dose of etiquette and refinement. "Excuse me, beautiful maiden,Would you like to accompany me on a date tonight?" His eyes rested on her face politely, without lowering his gaze to any other attribute. His voice was full of security and tranquility. The only thing that remained the same was his short and tousled hair.
Inside the room the singer could not swept off the pain he felt, her friend was worried and he could not find how to change her mind despite he repeated phrases like "I'm fine." "Doc is coming soon. " "Do not worry. " More than two times each. And the smiles and jokes also failed to convince her.He just followed her with his eyes, as she checked every bottle there without finding the correct one. He just prayed for her to not being able to found any because neither one was sure how much should take. He was not willing to guess. Finally she asked for the painkillers location in despair. He won.
With a smile on his lips and more calm the teenager continued ... "We could ask him later." Like Gina, he completely ignored where were the drugs. In other circumstance he would had examined all the bottles out of curiosity, but for obvious reasons preferred not to try to find the pills. In the case he could dissuade her, he tried other joke ... "If by strong stuff you mean some alcoholic drink, it should be at Doc´s desk." But Fausto said it without much hope to make her forget the painkillers, it seemed she was ready to find them whatever happens.
>>"Faust-o! You know where the Doc keeps the strong stuff? I can't seem to find any."
Sveta blinked, and stared at the door. The girl sounded cheerful, and it was also obvious that despite Fausto's injuries, they were having fun. She really was curious now who the mystery girl was. She did not sound familiar. Maybe she was new in the mansion? But how did she know Fasuto so well? And btw., what strong stuff?!...
>>"Excuse me, beautiful maiden,Would you like to accompany me on a date tonight?"
"Huh?" Sveta turned and looked at the guy in a suit. Who the hell was he and why was he in a suit? And what date?...

Fausto's bed awoke gradually, and with the pleasantness of an alligator, shuffled on out to sleep elsewhere. Gina looked up just long enough to watch him go, and then went on about her business. Fausto tried desperately to stop Gina with his, I'm fine's and the Doc will handle it's and the No need to worries.
Gina gave Fausto a look after, for the umpteenth time, he had attempted to stop her. Gina couldn't not worry about an injured friend. She was, for lack of a better word, incapable of not worrying, even if her friend said that they were just fine.
Fausto smiled when Gina was unable to come up with the location of some decent pills. Gina frowned stubbornly. She was never one to give up.
"We could ask him later," Fausto offered, "If by strong stuff, you mean some alcoholic drink, it should be at Doc's desk." Gina wasn't sidetracked so easily, and she folded her arms.
"'Alcoholic drink'?" Gina echoed incredulously, "Fausto, I'm not giving you alcohol." However, now that he mentioned, there might be some stronger medication locked in the desk, where a student couldn't so readily get to it. Gina snapped her fingers with a, "Fausto, you're a genius." and she hurried over to the desk. She took a quick seat and began rifling through the drawers hurriedly. Papers... office supplies... more papers... but no meds. She moved quickly, as she was almost certain that the doctor would wander in while she was searching.
"Feh," Gina sighed exasperatedly, peeking under a stack of papers in the drawer, "Fine, you win, I won't try and get you to take meds." She hated admitting defeat, but there was really nothing else to do. The door suddenly banged open, and Gina jumped up with a yelp, toppling the chair as she did so. Her face went pale. Oh God, the doctor! She was so busted.
It wasn't the doctor, however-- a pretty, young blonde girl, but older than Gina, awkwardly burst into the room. Tall, and skinny, Gina noted with envy. She was not visibly mutated, and seemed quite anxious. Definitely not the doctor. Gina bent over, closing the drawer and retrieving the chair, gathering her composure.
"umm... hi, Fausto, I just wanted to ask how are you doing?" the girl blurted out hurriedly. Gina righted the chair and pushed it back in, so that the desk looked as if it hadn't been used. Gina watched the two of them, smiling implicatively at Fausto. Who was this? A fellow band member, or a girlfriend? She hoped this girl wasn't anything like the last one who she'd met through Fausto, as the last girl had been so severely terrified of mutants that she could hardly function around Gina.
"What's the rush?" Gina inquired, stepping around the desk and offering the newcomer a personable, yet toothless, smile. She leaned against the desk casually and continued, "We run no exclusive club here, you're welcome to take a seat, if you'd like." She glanced to Fausto for approval. He was okay if this other girl was here too, right?

Impassioned Romeo did not let a little rejection to devastate him,, just the opposite. It was a challenge that he would be happy to take, so he stayed there waiting with a smile. She certainly was shocked by that pleasant proposal, but would return with a "Yes." on her beautiful lips in an instant. The green-eyed boy would wait in the hallway as long as necessary, even though her sister did not agree with his spontaneous romances. As if that thought summoned her, she turned the corner entering the hall shouting the name of his brother, her face was filled with fury. She did not need to say anything more than his name, her angry eyes looked at him reproachfully. "I searched everywhere for you." they said. The girl take him by his arm and dragged him against his will in the opposite direction to the infirmary. Still mumbling.
Fausto longed to hit himself for giving the idea of where she should seek, but he could not did it. Even when he was thinking he would die by poisoning or an overdose of medication (to his surprise and relief) she just gave up. While enjoying his small victory, and the peace obtained, the door opened suddenly. He had no time to savor the tranquility. His heart just stopped for a moment thinking it was the Doc with more insipid food for him. Fortunately and unfortunately it was not him. But Sveta, his former fiancee and who put him there. Again Fausto felt saved and sentenced at the same time.
The singer did not know much of what happened on Valentine's Day but he remembered everything until she kissed him. On the cheek of course. So he remembered giving her the title of an angel, queen and who knows what else. The boy blushed slightly at that memory. He also remembered one last detail that made the unannounced visit not entirely pleasant. Should he purchase the rings...?
The nonverbal questioning Gina, made him imagine that Sveta was a vampire, and that if he did not ask her to come in, she would have to stay out. Did that look mean something else? With a bit of nostalgia he remembered as Katrina had looked at her feet while nervous. That encouraged him a little. "Come in, there is enough room for everybody." He almost forgot to answer her question. "I'm great. The disease stopped. " Since he was a little nervous he looked down. There was nothing interesting to look over his bed, so he looked up again.
>>"What's the rush? We run no exclusive club here, you're welcome to take a seat, if you'd like."
"No, I just..." Sveta glanced back over her shoulder just to see the weird guy being dragged away by a girl. Thank God he did not pursue her into the infirmary. Sveta cleared her throat, and turned back to the girl and Fausto with a smile.
>>"Come in, there is enough room for everybody. I'm great. The disease stopped. "
"It did?" Sveta asked, pleasantly surprised, as she walked closer to the bed "Fausto dat's great! I am so glad. Umm, you know. Not for the injuries, I am sorry for dat. But at least, you are going to be okay when it heals, right?"
That sounded wonderful. Sveta didn't know if it was due to DocProf's greatness, or the accident at the mall, but Fausto was going to be all right, and that was definitely good news. Smiling at the girl Svea waved.
"Hi, my name is Svetlana. I don't shake hands because I boost powers. But nice to meet you."

Good God, they were so sickeningly cute. When Fausto registered who had entered, he had blushed and averted his eyes and peered down at the bed. Finding nothing of interest, he looked back up again. At first, the girl declined the offer to join them, and when Fausto had assured her that he was fine, she came in a little more. Gina listened, moving to the opposite edge of the bed, where the boy who'd just been dragged off had been before being forcibly taken away.
The other girl introduced herself, waving from a distance. The intial action left a mixture of taste's in Gina's mouth-- positive reaction, because she had acknowledged her, negative reaction, because she wouldn't shake her hand. It wasn't until the girl explained her ability that Gina calmed down a bit.
"My name is Gina," she said with a polite nod of her head, "It's a pleasure." She took a seat on the bed where the other boy had slept, straightening the sheets out a little.
"A power-booster, huh?" Gina mused conversationally, "Fascinating." She pondered over what might happen to her if she happened to get her powers enhanced, as aside from her physiology, there really wasn't anything mutant about her. Perhaps it'd be like taking some sort of mutational steroids, and she'd just be faster, stronger, and tougher. That'd be awesome.
"So... are you two... friends?" Gina inquired, giving them a warm look. What she really wanted to ask was if they were an item, but chose different wording to be a little less intrusive, even though she was still digging for the same information. She had no sense of how invasive or awkward this may have sounded, and thought the question was perfectly fine.

That was a question that let him full of doubt. More than acquaintances, less than best friends. They had a few dates. She was not her girlfriend , although they had engaged... twice. He could not deny that around her, he felt more awake, a little more alive. But he assumed it was due to her powers. Quickly and without hesitation he said, "Friends." Before any of these two might think otherwise. Gina's eyes said it all. She wanted to know more but luckily she was not going to ask. And one thing was to let the rumors spoke of his heroic adventures fighting bandits, and another thing was to let others talk of this future imaginary girlfriend and the imaginary marriage... Even when he was not sure that "friend" meaning was or not adapted to what they were. What happened on Valentine's Day could be attributed to the intoxicating effect of violence and consumerism... but he did not participate in either. Until he saw someone walking like a zombie toward her and then he... Fausto tried to remember why this man was beaten and he had asked her for marriage again. But the singer could not make the scenes prior to that, and the subsequent fit together in harmony. There was something he could not explain.
Determined to avoid the silence to dominated the situation and make it more unpleasantly awkward, he continue talking. "Doc did a great job with major injuries, but he leave the rest to heal themselves." He made a small gesture of denial since he did not agree with that policy, he should have fully healed him. Although in reality he looked exhausted when he left the room. "This means that when my bones heal, they will be as strong as always."
Fortunately for all mutants in the mansion, Fausto did not have the powers of Sveta. If so, he would touch all the mutants to see their enhanced powers. He could even do it like a punishment... like that girl who moved everywhere turned into a mass of mud. Littering everything in her path. One touch, and she would become a huge and motionless swamp. With that idea in his head, he imagine how Gina would look with her power enhanced temporally... and moderately modified. He saw a classic demon two meters tall, showing her sharp teeth and prominent horns coming out of his skin as red as blood. With clawed feet and hands, and two bat like wings but in demonic style. Although he well knew that Gina was more like a gargoyle than a demon... but he just could not imagine her completely transformed into a gargoyle... It would be like a lifeless statue. As these gargoyles looking fiercely at sinners on the cathedrals. Of course he reserve that thought for himself.
>>"Doc did a great job with major injuries, but he leave the rest to heal themselves. This means that when my bones heal, they will be as strong as always."
"Dat's... dat's great news" Sveta smiled at him "It means, no more wheelchair, right? Dat's amazing." she said cheerfully, then thought about it for a moment. "... I mean, I am sorry. For, you know. Vat happened at the mall. I was not really thinking. Umm. Is dere anything I can do for you?..."
She glanced over at the girl, Fausto's other friend. She seemed nice.
"How do you know each other?"
